Question Magisk modules require magisk v24.2 - Realme C21

Hey guys, i want to install some modules on me realme C21 which is rooted. However the modules require version 24.2+ of magisk to install. My question is since my device has a MTK chipset and only able to use patched magisk version (which apparently i can't update as it wont support my device), how do i go about it? Or is there a way to update it that i dont know about? Can i install Modules for magisk while bypassing the requirements?
Thanks again for any support i get, i'm new here and happy to be part of XDA!

Xposed for Nougat

Now the xposed for nougat is officially released, should I install the zip directly or through the download section of Magisk Manager? What is the advantage of one over the other?

TBH systemless is used so that your system is untouched and you can get OTA officially . (Mostly HTC devices)
and the main diff btw magisk root management and SuperSU is that SN is passed in magisk (without Xposed )
the latest update of SN made it difficult to pass SN on xposed systemless by topjohnwu.
if you want to get official OTA ,stick with systemless (topjohnwu) or else do use any root management and get xposed .
Obv if you need SN to pass , cant use Xposed now system mode or systemless .

does a custom kernel make safetynet false?

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 (the technical name is SM-A510F) and it's rooted with magisk, has latest TWRP installed and is currently running lineageOS 15.1. I wonder if Installing a custom kernel make safetynet false and if it's even worth it to install a custom kernel, and what does a custom kernel do in the first place?
Please answer ASAP
There's patches you can flash and modules from magisk if you're worried some applications won't work if root is detected.

Edxposed works since magisk root... for magisk update you need to flash it with odin.

Ok thanks will test
I had an issue with random reboots. Once they started it seemed like it would reboot 4 or 5 times and then it would stop. Did it once a day at least. Installed Vanced and removed Edxposed. No issues since. Could've been the app to go along with getting Vanced working but i froze it and it still happened so i dont know. Removing Edxposed completely and the apps to get Vanced working stopped the random reboots though.
@Fuzzy13
you must have done something wrong... everything works flawless with those xposed magisk modules + xposed manager + vanced from magisk repo.

thank you mate for your reply but i also tried this without luck
and i searched about this problem and i found it is because the kernel enforce selinux so i flashed the custom kernel (jimbok) and turned it to permissive and it worked now without any issue .
i need a way to change stock kernel to permissive because the way i use didn't work
i use terminal command ''setenforce 0'' it doesn't change anything in stock kernel but it worked with the custom one

That's weird I gotta say.
I have the setup I mentioned and everything works flawlessly (along with latest magisk canary). My SM-G985F with stock firmware is running on enforcing selinux, as it should.

i think your device not a snapdragon version so you dont have this issue
because i saw in https://github.com/ people like me using snapdragon fold 2 and tab s7+
im not good enough to understanding why but i found this
(The interesting thing about the failure on the Fold2, a Snapdragon device, is that a dependent feature of RKP, namely CONFIG_KDP_CRED, stops 2020 Samsung Snapdragon devices from booting when the EdXposed Magisk module is enabled.
My hope is that fixing this RKP patch in Magisk will have the side-effect of allowing 2020 Samsung Snapdragon devices to boot EdXposed with the device's stock kernel.)
and in the end someone said you must use permissive to fix the boot loop
im waiting a fix for that or someone guide me to make the stock kernel permissive because it is not easy like before

Yep mate, exynos!
I didn't know snapdragon devices were facing such issue. I've searched on this now and found this, but I guess you already saw it.
Hopefully a fix will come out soon!
It totally works!I tried it in July/August

SafetyNet Bypass - Basic Integrity Check fails? (ROOT / Custom ROM: iodéOS 2.1 / LineageOS / Android 11) - SM-G960F/DS

Hello,
I've installed iodeOS on my Samsung S9 SM-G960F/DS with Android 11 which is basicly a pre-configured LineageOS.
Additionally i've installed TWRP and Magisk 23.0 and rooted my phone.
Bootloader is unlocked ofc.
In the SafetyNet, i cant even bypass the simple Basic Integrity check, let alone the CTS Profile.
So my Question is, are there routines to try? does someone have a idea how i could get this working?
Or is it simply just not possible on the S9 to bypass SafetyNet?
I've tried "universal-safetynet-bypass-fix.zip" but i cant seem to flash it from TWRP or Magisk.
Thanks in advance!
Turns out it was a Dev User Build that doesnt work with SafetyNet.
Instead, i've installed LineageOS 17.1 with Android 10 and im ok wiht it.
I've passed Basic Integrity that way and with the following instruction the CTS Profile:
Download this Magisk Module (For Android 7.0/7.1 to Android 12 Beta 4 and future versions) – SAFETYNET-FIX-v2.1.0
Open Magisk and go to the Modules tab
Install the Magisk Module that you downloaded
Reboot your phone, and that’s it.

No need for TWRP to root.
To adapt to your device.

Thanks, but my question was the inverse: I want to root, typically I did using TWRP and flashing magisk zip. I was guessing if Magisk supports Poco F5 already.

This method is not recommended due to A/B partitions and current TWRP development for A12/13.
And root for what?

I use root for two main purposes: ad blocker in hosts (as I also use VPN service, so I don't want to keep VPN busy with ad blocker) and removal of bloatware with magisk debloater.

Xiaomi.eu ROM for 12 Turbo / Poco F5 with root is great, because one can install among others ad-block apps such as AdAway and block all ads in apps (Youtube excluded). I rooted xiaomi.eu (via magisk and "boot.img") couple of days ago and it's working great. You're right, when you wouldn't recommend rooting via TWRP and flashing magisk.zip for the reasons you mentioned in post #4 above.
Have any of you tried installing viper4android magisk?
A lot of devices are being unable to install the old viper 4 android. I know there's a 64bit version now that usually works on devices that can't install the other one. It doesn't have all of the features it's missing headphones surround sound and gain increase. Which are the two best features of the whole vipers situation. So I want to purchase a Poco F5 or F5 pro. So I am wondering if viper is working?
You'll probably have to install magisk delta canary latest build because the new magisk v26.1 won't work with viper now either. It will work if you Install viper with magisk delta and then switch to magisk official v26.1.
Normally what you do is you install the busy box module, The James DSP 4.6 module, Selinux permissive module, audio modifications library 4.2 module and the viper for Android module finally. You don't have to use the James DSP but sometimes it corrects problems in the system to get viper to work. I'm not sure how much you guys are aware so I am trying to cover everything.
Pixel 6, 7 pro it won't work on. My tab S8 plus, S22 and S23 ultra it won't work on. Pixel 7 pro with AOSP roms make it work when those are available.
