[Q] G9 battery questions - Vibrant Accessories

Im looking to get a G9 battery since people are saying it has a better life. Does that mean it will take even longer to charge than the G7 stock Vibrant battery? Will I lose everything from my phone when I remove my old battery to put the new one in? Such as SMS messages, photos, etc...

The stock vibrant battery is G9 not G7

I have both. The G9 doesn't have more juice than the G7. They are the same.

The G7 has problems on the vibrant. It seems to report its state incorrectly... That is that when the battery is actually almost dead it reports the state of the battery to be actually at 16%, which causes crashes.... I wouldn't get a G7.
EDIT: found this http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-SAMSUNG-Bat...926583?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item19c044f337
A Genuine G9 for under half the price of T-mo. There are also some 3500mah batteries that don't make your phone a brick around there.

[Q] Extended battery 3500 mAh dealextreme

Hey guys,
I just got my phone two days ago, but currently my Galaxy S2 just barely makes up 1 day with moderate use. (so no gaming, watching youtube or GPS)
I've been searching for an extended battery to prolong the current use of my phone on one charge, and I found these two options.
Has anyone tried one of these battery's:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/replac...y-cover-set-for-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-91182
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/replac...h-back-case-for-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-67304
I know someone who purchases stuff from this website regularly so I'm not questioning the safety of the website, only the quality of the battery. And I know its makes the phone thinker, but that's fine for me.
Btw, I've read also the alternative solutions about putting a ROM on the phone, but I'm not good at that so I'd rather get an extended battery.
Though, I'm not sure how safe non-orginal batteries are from Asia.
Anyone have any experience with that? And is there a risk for the phone, or is the only risk that the battery will just suck?
I've previously read these threads about extended batteries:

Any relevant threads that I missed, in order to make a good judgement?
Thanks for your advice!

The only non official battery I would get is Mugen. Or the samsung one.
The Anker ones get 'ok' reviews but there is hardly any proof your better off than stock (although You do get two of them... so that is going to be double the running time).
Have you not tried checking your settings, making sure you dont have any known terrible battery life apps etc etc etc?
When I first got my SGS2 I could run for 24hours straight easily on Wifi most of the time and loads of texts.
I now have around 65% left before bed so no idea what battery life would be like now. but I know you said you dont want to change roms/underclock etc...
I plan on getting the Samsung 2000mAh one when i get bored though.
I was gonna say the same thing- Mugen Power or official ones. Batteries are one thing you do NOT want to bootleg for a plethora of reasons.
Mugan and Seidio batteries are just as bad as the no name brands. They are like Monster Cable, in otherwords ALL BS marketing! www.batteryboss.org has tests. OEM batteries are the best if they make a extended battery or any cheap thing on the net will do, Since they are so cheap you can get double or triple the number of batteries for what you pay for one brand name one
I heard one saying" the man who uses smartphone is a good man, because he must go home and charge the mobile phone every night"
i bought several batteries from here.

Alright, so what settings in particular would you check? I have GPS always turned off, except when I really use the navigation. Screen brightness lowest. Overall I just have the basic apps Office apps, Dropbox, Skype etc. I know there are several apps to "tweak" the phone, but I haven't had time to dig into the whole thing. What ROM do you use, and what tweaking apps? CynoginMod or something? Any quick short tips?
Moreover, I like the functionalities of the basic ROM, and don't know how to put on any different ROM yet, including what the advantages/disadvantages will be.
Though, I love the phone as it is at the moment. Just the battery life is not that great.

I checked the website batteryboss, but it only seems to show tests of old phone models. But is there a certain risk with "bad-quality" batteries, or is the only risk the costs of buying them?

Nice try Luis2012. I'm not surprised you say you got the best service, as it seems you are either the owner or the promoter of that website.
Or is it a coincidence that virtually every single post out of all 19 posts, you recommend a product from that wesbite?
Moreover, I assume both websites "papadigitals, and "digglove", are yours, since they have identical layout and you both promote them as being a satisfied "customer" in virtually every post of yours.

is Hyperion battery really THIS much better?

So my stock battery just wasn't cutting it as I would get at best nearly 4 hours of on screen time by using every battery saving feature I could think of, and always keeping Wi-Fi and GPS turned off. I ended up buying the Hyperion battery and this thing is s complete beast. Maxing my phone out, higher brightness, leaving GPS and Wi-Fi all on, playing games and watching streaming media, I can eclipse 4 hours of screen on time before I even get down to 60% remaining.
While this is great, it got me thinking that this battery isn't supposed to be more than double the life of the stock battery is it? While I'm certainly not complaining about the Hyperion, I would like to know if there is s better battery it there that would allow me to use the default case cover without making my phone huge and still allow for better battery life than I'm getting? I have two different stock batteries and both are exactly the same.
Are there any better ones out there that don't change the size of the phone?

no , there isnt any other way, if u want ore juice, its gotta be stored somewhere right, unless u double the size , u cant double the battery life. no shortcuts, teh ones that claim so are all fake so dont bother with those.
Its possible. Motorola did it with the RazrMaxx. that tiny phone has a 3300mah battery. I wish some company could look into how they made it that small. i mean if Motorola can do it. samsung should be able to pack at least 4500mah into a similar battery. lol
i read this and it upset me cuz motorola always seemed to be behind on everything and i just never liked anything they put out. the razr maxx doesnt appeal to me but its gay that that it is better in so many different ways.

Pretty sure the battery size is larger than the S3 battery. I think the largest possible capacity they can fit into a original size S3 battery is around 2500mAH.
I'm not looking to match my Hyperion with a thin battery. I'm looking for a compromise. Something that'll fit with the normal back but will do better than the stock battery.

The Razr Maxx battery isn't that small. It is simply longer and a bit skinnier than the GS3 battery. Samsung could have done it with a slightly different design of how the battery fits in the back of the phone.
OP: After properly calibrating my Hyperion battery, I religiously get Just over 3 days of usage. I like my Hyperion battery.

Let me know what you find out, ive been skeptical of getting the hyperion and anker 2200 or even the mugen 2300 cuz im not positive if just a 100-200mah increase is gonna make that much of a difference.
Mugens website shows good reviews on the 2300 but the customers dont really have any stats to back up the claims in their reviews

battery technology just needs a major overhaul... they keep putting bigger displays, more processing power and still using similar battery capacity from the past 10 years or so..
read this article: We need better battery life and more storage space before 1080p displays arrive
Motorola is one of few companies that see battery capacity important.. still, they need to make them smaller and more power, making them bigger isn't the solution..

Flash a rom with Fast Charge embedded. Aokp and a few other aosp roms have this built in and it works really well. You can get a full charge in a fraction of the time it normally takes.

that is not what fast charge is. all fast charge is, is allowing the phone to take as many amps as possible from a PC connection. when using AC power (or good car chargers) nothing changes.
also, BTW, the faster you charge the battery, the less life it has. (as in in you will need to replace it sooner.)
Fyi, I have 2 Anker batteries. They're nothing special. They're on par with stock, just no NFC, but cheap. I rotate through all 3 batteries regularly and can never tell the difference.
Imho, this is really the best you can expect with a battery with the same physical dimensions as stock.

Any good news on testing the Hyperion, anker or mugen ?
A 3200mah pack can be the same size as a 2100mah..
There are a few things that come into play:
- The actual case thickness of the pack
- the cell count inside.
Internally we dont know how many cells make up a stock 2100 pack. Could be a single 3.7volt cell @ 2100mah or could be 2x 3.7volt cells @ 1100mah each(wired in parallel)... the 3200 could be one single cell.
So a 3200mah lipo verywell could fit, and perhaps it just a hair thicker but still fits..

[Q] LG G3 Battery upgrade

I've never upgraded or had a backup battery for any phone I've had but it makes sense to buy one for the LG G3 as it's always dead by time I get home from work and then I spend most of the time charging it next to the wall and unable to use it. Does anybody have any recommendations on a battery to use? I'm not a fan of the bulky 6000mah batteries that make your phone look like it has a big arse. I just want the highest capacity battery that will fit with the normal back cover. I think I'll charge both batteries and then swap in the morning and the evening so I always have it charged.
I've seen this one on eBay: LOPEDO BATTERY LG G3 (I can't post links yet, so it's literally the first result on eBay, 3300mAh for £9.98)
Is there a better version available? Does the higher mAh it is mean that it is better in general or will an optimised "high powered replacement" 3000mAh battery beat the standard LG G3 battery? Thanks..
Suggest to get one with separate charger
I'm also interested in these type of batteries. Anyone has tried them and can share the experience?
Hi i got a 3300mAh battery for my lg p990 on www.amazon.co.uk for €20 i think. Dident do much that old dog still drained out by the end of the day could be i was running avatar rom on it. On stock rom you might get more than a day ?
Have you considered buying a power bank? See, I had this issue too, but I've simply bought a power bank in order to give my phone an extra 50% of battery life. You can find them in all sizes and with lots of different capacities, some will even fit in your pocket with your phone. Here's two that I personally use.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-2nd-Gen-Astro-Mini-3200mAh-PowerIQ-Portable-External-Battery-Charger-/321501314592?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4adaf8be20 (this particular one will give you about 80-90% charge )
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Duracell-Portable-Power-Bank-Lithium-Ion-Battery-4000-mAh-/261777254771?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf323e973 (very reliable and charges quite fast)
Furthermore my JBL Charge 2 with its 6000Mah battery provides me with both amazing music and a full battery :good:
NOTE:
Do watch out when buying a really cheap one, there's no guarantee that it will actually hold up as long as it says in the description of the item.
Hope I helped you!

[Q] New battery

Hello there.
Im sorry if this thread has been opened. I have searched without luck.
My samsung battery just passed out, so i decided to buy a new one and it just arrived at home.
I'm wondering if I should calibrate it?
What is the protocol for the new batteries in the devices?
It's a EB-L1G6LLA for my Samsung Galaxy S3 d2&att i747 .
Thank you.
battery calibration seems to be a waste of time to me. I just got a 4200 mah battery and its real nice. I use the he out of this phone and I work nights. I get up about 9am and go to work at 3. Never run out of mp3 before midnight ever anymore!
My opinion is if you calibrate your battery (its actually only removing a file from the phone itself) just do it once with a fresh charge and ROM.
Ty.
By the way. Where did you get the 4200?
Got it off of eBay. It was about $20. Don't get anything from "the battery man" and if it claims to be bigger than 2100 and its not a bigger battery its a lie.
I got "Laza" brand. Its really good.

New Battery for Moto G XT1032

Hi folks,
I have been using Moto G for more than a year and lately i noticed battery is discharging more quickly than before. I am not %100 percent sure of it but it just feels like it. Anyway maybe it is not that essential to change the battery now but i am sure that day will come. I found some batteries on ebay but i want to buy genuine moto g battery.
I couldn't find any info about how to check of genuineness of a moto g battery but maybe somehow you know.
Does any of you change their battery before and how does the battery you bought performed ?
This is the link of how to change battery https://youtu.be/bv5C0axnGIw It looks pretty easy
And here you can find some batteries for moto g on ebay http://ebay.to/1rfB2q5
It would be cool if you can post more links of places that we can buy moto g batteries..
Cheers,
Since it's not user-removable,it's best to go to a service centre to get it replaced.
Most likely it'll be genuine and they'll know the proper way to do this.
Good luck.
It is really easy to remove the battery so it is user-removable. Everything is user removable i am sorry but i hate to depend on others and i don't want to pay extra service fees for easy tasks like that.
Thanks for the links.
I too feel like that battery is degraded a little after 1.5 years of usage and thinking about replacing it. If anyone finds original moto g battery with international shipping let me know. I'll make a video while changing it.

What's the on screen time you all get? I've bought my Moto G 4G second hand and its almost a 1,5 years old. I see that screen on time maximum gets to 4 hours, compared to 5 on the original Moto G I had before.
I'm maybe considering installing a new battery, or otherwise trying a custom ROM to remove some stock Motorola crap.

SOT about 4 hours is not looks abnormal to me, it there running lots of process.
would u plz try slimsaber (5.1.1) once?? if slimsaber gives u leess then 5 hour SOT then might be problem on battery.
. . . Getting an original brand new replacement from eBay can be accomplished quite easily. I have a genuine ED30 unit in my wishlist for just $12´13 at this moment.
. . . Regarding battery lifespan: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries
. . . Thenceforth, if you stick to charging your battery up to around 60% of its maximum capacity you obliterate most voltage related stresses, effectively quadruplicating its lifespan. I swear it works (more than nine months doing this with my XT1032 by now).
Cheers
Anyone have a reliable/affordable link for a Canadian? My bettery seems to always jump from 30ish percent down to 20ish percent and SOT has gone down closer to 3-4 on all ROMs rather than the 5-6+ from before.

Sorry if a bit late. Search for "ED30" on eBay, and preferably use the full site (eBay full site on mobile; bookmark it ). I'd stick to the units who specifically claim to be original/from manufacturer accessories (generally $12+).

The key problem with online stores is that you do not even have an idea as to what the purchased product looks like and if you do, some counterfeiters can produce good-looking knock-offs. I bought a battery for the LG G3 recently and it performs the same as the one I already have even though it is new. The only clues that will help you with making a purchase is the seller and product reviews.
As for the Moto G (LTE), replacing the battery consists of unscrewing the screws, prying the inner battery panel off, pulling the ribbon connector outwards to disconnect it and pulling the battery away after that, and then reversing the aforementioned instructions, and I am thinking of replacing the battery for the Moto G LTE soon for obvious reasons.
I'm also trying to buy a new battery. Can anybody recommend a website where to get an original one?
