[Q] missing startup.txt, haret, etc.. - Touch Pro, Fuze Android Development

Hi,
I searched the forums;
I searched the Internet - still no answer.
So please avoid comments like - try to seach harder.
I have already running HD2 with Froyo.
I got my friend's Raphael and downloaded the thing which is to be placed in andboot.
After that I tried to locate the haret and startup.txt. Yes, I went to the wiki, found the link for the startup.txt which lead me to an empty page.
So, please tell me where is the startup.txt for Raphael?
Is the hared from HD2 compatible with Raphpael?
Thank you

Hi orlean
I take it you unzipped the package you downloaded?
If so, take a look at the "\andboot\STARTUP CONFIG\"-folder. There you'll find several startup.txt's.
You should find haret itself already placed in the "\andboot\"-folder.
If this is not the case try downloading the following full bundle with everything you need included:

17.09.10 | 2.2 builds
XDANDROID.2.2.AOSP.FRX01.17.9.10.UPDATE_PACKAGE NEW
Note: You'll need a new data.img as this package is signed. Otherwise you'll get a bootloop
Also you'll need to select English IME if you want to type in english.

I'm not sure if starting a new thread is the right thing to do since there is a specific thread for Android related querries here.
Anyway, if you downloaded babijoee's XDANDROID.2.2.AOSP.FRX01.17.09.10.UPDATE_PACKAGE.7z, then the the startup.txt is in the Startup Config folder. If your friends device is a raph100 then it's in the Raph folder.
Haret is in the root of the archive. It should be the same as HD2's but, would you mind uploading it here so we can test? I heard that pongster's ROM uses a newer version.
edit:
Beat me by two minutes Preggy, but different approach to the solution.

EDIT: all done

Even a newer firmware? Nice! Checking the diffs now!
Edit: Just 6 Days newer.. SHouldn't be much changed..
To be fair it's probably just the addition of T-Mobile bookmarks, etc but I thought I'd put it up just in case there's a hidden gem.
Hello Sir,
I tried PM but for some reason I could not send it.
I have HTC Hero with dev watermarked software
HBOOT-1.75.2000
Radio 6.35.04.04
I downloaded T-mobile ROM you posted and I am wondering if I can just try to push the system folder to my device directly or there is something else I need to do as well ? Can I get step-by-step instructions please ?
Also if I put this release is there a chance that my device will get locked to T-Mobile network ?
Many thanx in advance
Hi there,
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your questions. I followed instructions I was given to pull the system folders from the phones. What I posted wasn't actually a ROM that you can flash but rather a dump of the folder that contains the HTC applications, etc. This can then be used by ROM cooks to add the Sense UI to their custom ROMS.
I can't imagine that you'd be able to push the system folder across as the system folder is read-only on non-rooted devices. If you did somehow manage to push it across I doubt it would solve your problem but it also wouldn't lock your phone to T-Mobile, that goes much deeper than the system folder (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Cheers,
Phil

[Release] [Kitchen] - SuperJustKitchen v0.7 - Shields up!

SuperJustKitchen v0.7 Released.
Go to my site: http://justkitchen.info to get the updates and the info. It takes to long to update every device's forum that is supported, and I plan to support all devices.
For more information on the kitchen, please read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4288668
Word of warning:
None of the new EXT's have been tested and fixed for the Herald, Opal, Hermes AND Artemis. Please test test and test and then let me know which packages don't work and what YOU've done to fix them. (I don't have time to fix ALL of them by myself.)
(I'm no longer updating each thread separately for each device but just updating my site and posting the release info here.)
howdy,
i just gave it a shot, downloaded all files and wanted to look into it but it seems i have to look somewhat deeper to just set the kitchen up...it doesnt work following your walkthrough guide...
so for now the impression left behind is:
nice homepage
frustrating setup..for a time pressed person
greetz
Sorry, that's because the setup has changed a lot since I first started the kitchen for the Herald.
It's pretty simple.
Create a folder in your C drive and name it Kitchens.
Within that folder create a folder called SuperJustKitchen.
Dump the contents of the the main files into this.
Go into the Working_Directory and dump the contents of the other 7z files.
I'll probably be making an auto install pretty soon.

For Updating this Android u should use an application called MJGDroidUtil in ANDBOOT folder.
Click on/Open MJGDroidUtil -> Click Menu -> Update -> check the checkboxes -> click Update
Further Development Cancelled but update tool will be working
Wifi working? and HTC Sense not to big like one the Klinux build?
Yeah WiFi works for me, and the sense is usuable
I think this is Klinux, just bootscreen says it
Well if this is Klinux build it's working out of the box for me on VGA
And we already have a thread here for Klinux builds

And what exactly is the difference with this :

and this:

I have had Android running on my raphael100 with perfect sense in vga for some time now.
Did you miss that or have you put in something extra?
I have checked. There is absolutely no difference..
Looks like someone wasn't really paying attention the last couple of weeks
The linked thread actually mentions a lot of things aren't working that are working on the other builds.

thanks for your reply. but i still cant get this to work on my att fuze.
this is what im doing.
1) format card
2) extract downloaded file onto computer desktop
3) copy everything from the andboot file into root
4) replace the STARTUP.txt with ur startup_fuze from page1
5) put card into device
6) start up
I keep getting this loop at the boot screen of klinux:hTc
I can't go pass that!! ARGH!
The funny thing is that all these problems can be solved by reading to my thread and klinux's thread..
Indeed, I think it's better to just close this thread and not add to the confusion of the already growing number of android threads.
Ok guys
Sorry that i want to share something
Haha, good job, I am using Raphael 100 as well.
Please keep going
but my phone every time I wake it, the brightness always very low. Is there any solution? I already turn off the auto brightness.

I'm not trying to bash you or anything and as always any work done to improve android on our devices is highly appreciated. Only thing going on here is that we can't really see the difference with the other packages.
Could you perhaps clarify that for us?
what is the probleme on this build

[ANDROID2.2|FROYO] SQSH image...

I need your help with creating a sqsh(or ext2) file with latest build of Froyo Android.
I tried to do it but as a result Vogue Linux(HaRET) can't mount it and also the job control is off(there is no way to turn it on without correct keymaping)...
Application that I used for making sqsh file is mksquashfs.exe .
I've already heard about a ext2 file format, that is better and faster...
I don't have any idea how to operate this files, etc., etc...
P.S. Sorry but I can't post links, you will must to search for it

Gruessle -> Kaiser Froyo Rom

06/16/2011
The screenshots are not important. This is not a theme!
You can install a theme from here, for example if you like.
The theme it comes with is the:
Go Louncher Classical Theme (The new version of it)
The software installed is also not important, because you can remove it.
Google Market is installed, and you can install what ever you like, just like on your computer.
https://market.android.com
This is the actual Android Froyo operating system for the HTC Kaiser
So, stop asking me for screenshots and software installed, it's not relevant.
And the how to install guide is been posted here
Bug reports are welcome, other then that, I don't wont to hear from you.
Don't post a thank you either, there is a bottom for that, and you can also vote on the poll up there, but install and test it first!
Again Bug reports only, please!
I been working on this for 3 days straight, and figure I'll share what I got.
Everything seems to be working, except the camera is blurry, but that seams to be the norm.
Included is the rom, radio and kernel
ROM: 2.2.1
Kernel: 2.6.25
Radio: KAISER 1.70.19.09
Panel: 2
Key Map: US Normal
Resolution: 240x320

Most everything is installed in userspace and can be uninstalled or upgraded.
Oh got GO Launcher EX installed (Also in user space)

That sounds like a trick question.
Yes, at first I compiled everything my self but then to resolve bugs, I looked at other systems and basically stole stuff from them to fix my bugs. In other words, I can't take all the credit, it was a community effort.

I removed most everything from the system and installed it in user space. So the system is very lean. You can uninstall what you don't like.

Anyone else having trouble getting the kernel to install?
I get to 33% and the phone reboots...
Radio installed fine even though I was already using 1.70.19.09, just to be sure I installed everything in the package.
Installed HardSPL 3.34 and a WinMo 6.1 rom (custom) to see whats wrong. Installed L1q1d's kernel and goes right in like it should.
Checked .NBH with NBHCreator and only found 1 thing wrong: kernel set to Eclair instead of Froyo. Changed to Froyo and saved, attempted reflash and still won't go in...
;(Losted);
I also tried to install this kernel but I can't. Flashing in hardspl after few second give folowing error:
00018003
Os Fail
Update Terminate
UPDATE Fail.
Changing parameters in atools not helping. Every another kernel is flashing without problems so it's not phone fault
Gruessle, thanks for your efforts! I want to try your rom but being a noob waiting for more comprehensive list of known errors before flashing it to my kaiser.
Ok, quick "bug report":
After working with the kernel pack multiple times I have come to the conclusion that there might be a bug in the actual kernel file itself, throwing a code back to HardSPL and RUU (how I install).
I first noticed a problem in that the kernel was originally set up for a Polaris and had no resolution set. The size of the file should be unimportant as Scoot's newer kernel is in the order of 3.2-3.3MB in size (with the RIL patch installed it gets even larger), this one is 3,099KB, and l1q1d's is almost always 3,092KB.
The second issue I noticed is with the Froyo package itself... It's split up into many files (open the package in 7zip and you'll see what I mean). Normally, the packer has the files all listed inside the .tgz file, this one has the files inside many other files.
I have thus not installed the system on either phone because (correct me if I'm wrong), the kernel contains the basic directories for where everything is installed, and if I were to try and install this package on say, l1q1d's kernel, the phone would most likely crash because the files would not be found, including /system.
If ANYONE wants to dig deeper into this problem, feel free to message me. Personally, I think we've about finished getting all we can from the Kaiser, and much respect goes out to those who have done all the work in the past, but there's always that glimmer of hope that someone will find a way to pack this into a working rom installable through RUU or HardSPL.
I have one last thing to say:
Gruessle, please do your homework BEFORE posting things like this. There are people out there who still depend on this phone to operate as it is their only phone. I Personally cannot afford to go spend $100-200 on a replacement phone if this one goes down (thats why I have 2 of them). If you post something that does not work on the platform that you say it will, please correct it or move it to the proper forum.
BTW, I call shenannegans on one of the 5-star votes... just sayin'.
Your kernel have fake ;/ . rom works great ;D
sorry for bad english;p

1) The kernel doesn't care where you place the files. Right now I use a debian system with Ferora and Gentoo in a chroot. Both work fine with the Debian kernel.
In other words, if you have a kernel that works for you then use that it should work with the rest of the installation.
2) I don't get what you mean with files are "split up into many files", I am just guessing but you must be extracting it wrong. Maybe it's a windows thing, I haven't used windows in 15 years so I wouldn't be able to help you with that.
3) I have included everything you need to duplicate what I got, which works for me, and it appears to work for others too. Now i don't use that phone much, and there might be bugs I am unaware of, but don't tell me it doesn't work at all, just because you can't get it to work.

barmalini, it appears that a few people have trouble installing the Kernel, but the ROM seams to work for everybody as far as I can tell.
According to my server records the files have been downloaded over 200 times and I have yet to hear a complain about the ROM.
So I would say try to install the Kernel, but if you can't still use the ROM with a Kernel that works for you.
If you have trouble installing from windows you can also try a live CD from debian or knoppix. I installed everything from a Debian system. (Knoppix is based on Debian)
If you don't know what a live CD is then go here for info:

PoXFreak,
you are not the only one having trouble, installing the ROM it appears.
I am wondering, are you also using Microsoft Windows to install the ROM?
If so can you try again with Linux, because it worked fine for me.
If you don't have Linux you can use a Live CD
Also if you can't get it to work, try the ROM with a Kernel that works for you.
Please report, I will check back.
