Component Cable - myTouch 4G Accessories

A few reviews mentioned an available component cable for $14.99. Has anyone seen this?
http://www.slashgear.com/mytouch-4g-review-04112057/

no...and I have been looking every where for it since reading the article. I hope it actually exists, but I'm starting to doubt it.
If anyone knows for sure, please let us know.

If you look at the accessory insert that came with the phone (between the sim card and the quick start guide) they mention an audio "component cable". I'm wondering if this is what that reviewer was talking about. Sure would be nice if there was in fact a component video cable, too. At this point I'm doubtful though...

i would have to imagine they were talking about audio as well

Also, does the SGS1 cable works on SGS2 ?
Cheers

Thanks. How about audio?
Audio does go through the cable. Was there a microUSB port in the adapter for charging as well? Because I read that unless it is put on charge, it doesnt work properly. The 2 adapters in the link have microUSB slots so yours might have been missing one or maybe just some other fault.
Once the adapter is connected, it works just like any other HDMI port.
you people need to do your research, there are plenty posts on here about this, plus there is a demo on youtube, read, watch and listen, the information is out there...!

These are doubts that i couldn't find the answer too. Sorry for cutting trees and polluting Earth =P

It's alright to ask questions I feel. Even if there's already another thread open for it. Its not like anything is getting wasted

Quite correct, however what you will find is that people will get more and more reluctant to cover the same issues over and over again until people simply wont bother to answer.
Always best to read before asking, there is no excuse not to do so, simply advising there is nothing wrong with asking questions doesn't really cut it. I know the search is pretty bad but I had some of the same questions myself but found all the answers I needed by reading and watching youtube.
One search for "MHL" revealed the following below, and these are not posts mind you, these are individual threads.

Yes in that case they might not get an answer and will have to searcha nd find out themselves. But what Ive found mostly is that some sites have very irritating search engines that hardly help you out. Not saying thats the case here.

I think you've got yourself a little confused there. If you search and cannot find something then you ask, the problem only arises when people cant be bother to search and questions get asked over and over again.

[Q] Would this be useful at all to us?

http://www.google.com/products/cata...a=X&ei=R7nuTe3OO4nGsAOBsuz_Bg&ved=0CEYQ8wIwAQ
It would fit, obviously, but would there be any possiblity of using this for doing video out or screen mirroring or anything?
It sure would be cool to be able to play HD video recorded on the phone, on your HDTV at home. The thing is, I don't think the MT4G has the ability to output video through the micro USB. If I'm wrong, that'd be awesome though.
It says Galaxy S. Samsung wired their microUSBs to be able to do this. HTC did not.

[Q] TV out???

Is there a TV out function on the Dinc2? Phonearena states that it has TV out function (http://www.phonearena.com/phones/HTC-Droid-Incredible-2_id5173), yet I don't see the TV out cable online. Does the Dinc2 do full mirroring to a TV via the micro usb, like the Dinc1 did?
I just emailed HTC. I will see what they say.
Use the same cable? I have that cable running through my car dash so I can listen to (and watch) Pandora on my Alpine touch screen.
So the incredible2 can be output to a tv then?

Ok. Thank you.
Htc emailed me back with this: "The HTC Incredible 2 supports a feature called Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL). You can find out more about this technology here: http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Mobile_High-definition_Link. At this time, HTC does not manufacture the appropriate cable to support this; however, the option is available."

No way. Seriously? My Inc 2 supports mhl?
I just almost did a backflip.
This makes my phone worth 3 times as much personally.
Off to buy a cable/adapter haha
Its like a hidden feature or something...its not listed on the box nor in the manual.
Ill give this a try in just a few

I don't think there are any mhl cables out in stores yet. I don't think it works with inc1 tv out cable.

There are MHL microUSB to HDMI cables in existence for other devices. I've started searching for one. Supposedly there's one available for Samsung Galaxy S devices that I might try to procure.
How pricey are these cables? I'd try one out we're not sure on if it's not horribly expensive.
Here's one just for proof:

Also found this, but out of stock:

Good deal. Thanks for the links. Let me know if anyone tries these out. Might have to get this phone if it does. TV out is a great plus.

Same here, if anyone gets the cable, would they be kind enough to tell us if it works or not? I'm just really looking forward to using emulators on my TV
OG Inc cable does not even fit in the INC2 port. No worky

We aren't talking about the og inc cables, we are talking about the new mhl cables that are used in such devices as the galaxy s2 and evo 3d. The inc2 has the mhl tech just no cable as of now.

android alarm clock dock?

is there one for our phones? a universal one that works with all android phones would be better, since ill be getting the s3 in a bit.
There is a ihome that charges android phones but the audio doesn't go through the dock. You need to plug in the 3.5mm jack for the audio. It's an alright dock, i guess. Only bad part (for me) is that the audio turns off if i turn off the screen to my phone for some reason.
There are docks from Phillips like AS111/12 (and some bigger ones)
Audio by bluetooth
I use the above by myself with my S3 and the app AtomaRadio as an alarm clock.

Hi,
I work for GEAR4. We just announced the AlarmDock Connect - the first alarm clock dock for Android that uses only the USB cable to connect to the phone.
http://www.gear4.com/android/
It has a USB port on the back so if you need to use a tablet with a proprietary connector, you can.
It charges (obviously), plays audio over USB (Gingerbread 2.3.4 through JellyBean) and also sets the time and alarms from the touchscreen.
Not enough? Oh yeah, it also has an FM tuner. Control the FM tuner and presets from the touchscreen.
It's been designed to work with tablets, phones, wherever the USB port on them may be.
Have a look - feel free to ask me questions.

is a video engadget took of it.
There's a recessed channel that the bottom edge of the phone sits in, or tablet rests in. There's a hole that goes through, so you can pass the micro-USB (or proprietary USB cable) through, or just rest its connector in.
We've gone this route using the USB cable instead of a connector like Philips did because we want to be compatible with as many Android devices as possible. Some (Samsung, Asus) have unique connectors that aren't standard micro-USB connectors.
Thanks. Bigger in the video than I expected. I am not clear on this aspect of the forum rules, but I hope your posts are not seen as advertising, since you are making us aware of a product and not attempting to sell it, plus you are adding to this discussion. Anyway, I guess the only issue I have is that my Sprint Epic 4G Touch hasn't even been updated to ICS, so I don't know if it will ever be upgraded to Jellybean... so I would have to use your app to listen to music and couldn't use something like Ambiance, for example? I suppose there is no way around this limitation?

I'm going to take that as really good feedback. I admit I'm not familiar with Ambiance (I usually use Pandora, Spotify, Google Music or DoubleTwist) - But I see what you're saying.
(and I'm intentionally not answering the question - unreleased, I don't want to say yes or no.)
that is one sexii clock, i will defiantly watch this one, because audio through usb is big for me

It's product has not been cancelled. as a rule we don't talk about products a lot until they're ready for release. This product was the exception, and that's why we've been quiet.. The website redirect happened when we updated the website (yeah, we should have kept it live.)
We'll announce more when it's closer to shipping.

Finally found a USB hub that allowed me to unlock the bootloader on my Pixel XL2

After trying dozens of USB cables, ports, computers and hubs, I was finally able to unlock my bootloader and root my used Pixel XL 2!
I feel like being a **** and not giving any details about the hub, though.
Maybe I'll disappear from the forums after saying what every other jerk told me, "Try another port/cable/hub. That's what worked for me!" I might even go back to my old posts about the problem and edit them to say "Solved!" but leave no details of what the solution might be.
I will say this; I found it in a thrift store for $1.95. It's also a card reader, but it's not the only card reader/hub that I've tried.
Good luck, suckers!
Seriously, it took you a lot longer than most, but that advice you were repeatedly given worked, didn't it? But, you don't have to tell anyone what hub you got because not everyone needed a hub to unlock* and no one really cares anyway.
So, want a cookie?
*I needed to use a different cable to unlock.
Just cracking wise because of all the posts I had to read where people never bothered to say exactly which hub or cable worked for them, or even bother to reply when asked.
I'm guessing this one is known to work since many of the sellers on ebay are asking $19 plus for a crappy old USB 2 hub.
And yes, I do want a cookie. I'll trade USB cables and hubs for one.
Not telling people what the solution to the problem is extraordinarily common on these forums, so I hear you there. While I wasn't sure if you were being a smartass in your post, I know I'm an asshole and tell people that, so to me it was only natural to be a smartass in replying to you.
Your response was perfect and I got a chuckle out of it.
On a side note, your comments about the ebay prices of older tech resonate here. Up until recently I was using a Belkin USB to PS/2 dual adapter for my 25-year old keyboard and touchpoint pad until it failed (broken wire in one of the PS/2 connectors). Roommate bought me a two-pack of cheap Chinese knock-offs that were badly soldered, with only one of them working even after fixing the bad solder jobs. I want my Belkin back so I have one ordered on Amazon, for twice as much as I paid for the original when new.
