Atrix Already Has Otterbox Pre-Orders - Atrix 4G Accessories

The Atrix, even though it doesn't even have an "official" release date, already has pre-orders for all 3 variations of Otterbox's cases. I'm just amazed at this lol. My previous phone (Nexus S) had a release date set for about a month before it came out and never got a pre-order for otterbox's cases, nor are their any now available for it. See for yourselves: http://www.otterbox.com/motorola-atrix-cases/motorola-atrix-cases,default,sc.html
I love the commuter, it looks the best out of the 3, but I just love the extra protection with the defender. I've had a Commuter & a Defender for my Nexus One & a Commuter for my HTC HD2. The Commuter was great, but didn't give the same level or feeling of protection the Defender does.

Actually, IMO, the defender for the Atrix is the best looking defender for any device to date.
Sexy!

I agree, but the commuter is by far better looking than the defender to me

Do think that it will be possible to use Atrix with Otterbox in (laptop)dock? I mean that the defender is quite thick...

No, but its not that hard to take it off once you get the hang of it. But if you take the silicone off often, it starts to stretch and wont be as tight of a seal around the hard case.

Yeah, it look very easy to remove, but it always takes some time and could be annoying, if you have to do it few times a day...
But we should wait and see, maybe there will be some way

My concern with the Defender series case is that it looks like the fingerprint reader is blocked on that case. That might be a deal breaker for that case for me. I submitted a question to otterbox asking about whether the reader if functional with that case but it hasn't shown on the site yet. Might want to go with the commuter case if that is true, though that one doesn't have the clip on it..decisions decisions. Also, definitely concerned that the docks wont work with the cases.

Thanks for the link! Unlike the iphone cases, these otterboxes look great, IMO.

They finally answered the question about the defender series case, stating that there is an opening over the fingerprint reader on the case, I assume they updated the design if that is the case, and that the images on the site are not up to date. Though, he could have been mistaken, i dunno. we'll see soon enough.

My store has the OtterBox cases in so I'll look into it tomorrow.

just 'pre-ordered' a defender case from mobilecityonline.com for 34.99 free shipping when preordered. pretty good price.
some folks seem to have had free otterboxes included in the preorder from att, but i did not.

I purchased the case at the AT&T store today and there is no covering over the fingerprint reader. In fact, there is no covering over the camera or the speaker at the bottom. Therefore, you have constant access to the fingerprint reader and don't even need to be flipping a rubbery cover. Other ports are covered though (headphone, usb/hdmi, volume) in typical otterbox fashion. Hope this helps.

How did you purchase it before it was released?

I stopped by an AT&T store to see if they had any standard docks before release. They didn't but they did have a small selection of cases, including the Otterbox Defender. This was yesterday. Saturday-Feb 19th.

Wow that site has great prices for the otter box cases, do you have any previous experience with them? How fast is their shipping? I'm wondering if it would be worth the savings/wait or if I should just stop by an AT&T store since it sounds like they are already available there.

Yeah, I walked in to AT&T to see if they had any Atrices on display yet, and when they said no I asked if they had any cases for it.
Walked out with an Otterbox Defender for 53 bucks.
I think I ****ed it up already though because I pulled the plastic cover thing off the front of it thinking it was removable. I guess the gorilla glass will have to do!

Extra pissed! Ordered my defender case from amazon on 16th and it has not shipped! yet they are selling these things at the att store? wtf bro!

I've been monitoring the otterbox website for changes ever since I got the EVO and they finally added the cases to the site! can't order them yet, but you can see them at least. looks like they were worth the wait!!!

Impact ($19.99):
Commuter (34.99)
and the big daddy:
Defender ($49.99)
Anyone having past experience with otterbox able to tell me, I have the Seidio rugged and the main thing I like is that it's basically 2 cases in one, for work I can use the rugged and every day I can use the Innocase 2
Does the Otterbox Defender work the same way? Or is it simply one skin?
holy ****. do want defender naow!
FINALLY!
Now lets see how long it takes for people to be able to order them. Oh and as far as how these cases compare to Seidio...their is NO comparison
Is it me, or does the Defender case cover up the bottom buttons? That would be freaking awesome!

Yes, I realize this, I have several friends with iPhone cases, but as I said, my main reason for liking the Seidio I have is that when I don't need full protection I can downgrade to something a bit more sleek and manageable

Understood the more options, the better.
They're very sexy, but I'm just going to keep my belt clip and naked EVO. I don't want to put this thing in my pocket.
Being that I've had 3 otterbox cases and now the seidio rugged... I can say the rugged is quality ... I actually dropped it at 12 feet today. Not a scratch. Seidio has or will have matching dock and cardock aaaaaand the holsters...
I wonder if it has anything to do with me yelling at them to hurry the F up in emails lately lmao
in response to how the otterbox works, depends on the series.
the lower ones like a skin bet premo, the middy is kinda like the seido it looks
and the beast is used all in one.

I really like the look of these but they don't have a belt clip holster type thing that it clips into like the seido does it?
Thats the main reason I have the innocase II is because is think so I can fit it in my pocket when im out and about and if I am at work wearing my belt I can just clip it right into my belt clip.
pretty sure the silicone u see on the defender case is there because thats whats inside the case...not an actual phone.
the defender series of case's always comes with a belt clip btw idk about the others.

No colors? Girls like colors. D=

IDK what the hold up is, its extremely annoying and frustrating, but I imagine now that they are up on the site we should see them within a week or so ID HOPE!

Trident Kraken and Aegis case for Galaxy Nexus

I guess Trident are working on some great cases for our nexus. The kraken case seems to stand out the most with a protector for the camera and some unique design on the sides of the phone.
Here are the links

Trident Case "We definitely gave some love to the Galaxy Nexus Fam. We will release the Aegis and Kraken AMS both during the last week of February. We will post it up, once its out."
Currently there out of stock and only at the EU store. And will be released in the US on the last week of February.

To be honest what i see so far( i recently just got a GN), we have already a few cases that fit that category. At the case wiki, i read some people happy with there cases that also have extended batteries. If your looking at Trident for slim cases, you should look else where since there pretty but an alternative of Otterbox cases. I believe you should check out the Seidio surface case(recommended), Mercury case(around 10 bucks) and the SGP case(expensive a bit), they both seem to fit your bill.
i had one of these for my droid x and they are awesome. phone looked brand new after 2 years of use, and i am hard on electronics

I wouldn't say that, I feel like they both bring competition in the rugged case department. But Trident has a great approach for bringing options to most phones with different colors and unique designs that at time are superior then Otterbox in protection. Im not saying Otterbox is not a good brand but sometimes they seem to focus too much on the apple devices and leave other device cases with less quality.

I disagree. I may not have the insight you do on the business side, but I think Trident makes a quality product. In some aspects better than Otterbox. I don't see how Trident is a wannabe Otterbox. They both offer great products. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't recommend look-a-like cases, this is because most look-a-likes while may provide atheistic look that some people seek but for the protection and overall quality can be lacking. For example looking for dual layer/triple layer case for the galaxy nexus gives you a Ballistic SG look alike case which may look nice due to color options but obvious feel of cheap plastic and rubber turns it off completely based on my personal experience with those cases. There's a reason why some cases are priced a bit high which just overall better quality and support.

Most of those reviews are "almost fits" or modded, etc. My defender actually broke when I put it on (they replaced it, nice folks). If this case you're linking actually officially supports the 2100 I will lean toward buying it. ICS blue is hot.

I had the idea that for once I'd keep a device sleek and sexy vs throwing a huge case on it. Often I go on trips with the military and jump out of planes (it's not that crazy honestly). As long as you keep a device in a pocket with nothing else it usually doesn't get damaged. Pair up a nice slick case with a good screen protector and you're in business.
We went to a few stores including Best Buy Mobile, Best Buy, AT&T (corporate), Sprint (premier dealer), and those little kiosks in the mall. Of course the little kiosks had the cheaper than ever, eBay cases wrapped in plastic with "Made in China" stamped on them. These can be found for a few bucks on eBay, but they try to charge much higher prices because they can. I might as well note that in general cases are cheaper on eBay (even the premium ones). We found a healthy selection of cases at the mall including Casemate, Ballistic, Incipio (girlie color), and Belkin, but nothing from Otterbox was here yet.
The "Made in China" TPU cases didn't look too bad, but I opted for the name brand Belkin Shield Sheer case. This one is considered clear, but they also come in day glow, reflection, ruby, and black. They were pictured below in that order.

The case fits around the device really nicely. Just make sure you are careful if you have a screen protector on the device. You don't want the edges to pry up because your case is not overlapping the edges. It pushed up my ZAGG, however I shouldn't have installed it right after installing the InvisibleSHIELD. Now it's fine. I just used the squeegee to push the edges back down and make sure the case goes on over it.
I guess this case will keep the phone about as slim as it possibly can be while still being protected. Of course it will not offer as much protection as an Otterbox or the Ballistic cases.
MSRP: $24.99
Official Page: http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=659257
nice video but im not dropping 25 bux on a tpu I got 3 from cruzerlite for that much :highfive:
Haha. Thanks!
I hear ya though. I hate having a new phone without any protection so I usually buy the first case retail.
Really I wanted an Otterbox. The cheap Chinese ones were even selling for this much in the mall. I think I mentioned that. I did get like a 7.49 discount because I bought an overpriced ZAGG from Best Buy at the same time.
Honestly, I find a majority of offerings from Belkin overpriced, no matter the accessory or phone they are paired with.
I got a Shield Sheer (clear) for my SGS3. I bought it from Best buy. I am very happy with it. 3 persons have already asked me where i bought my case. I guess the case is not just feels good and grips well but looks very pretty on my sgs3

Agreed. The foremost reason (for me) to use a case is to protect the phone from an accidental drop, so unless all corners are covered and sufficiently padded, such a case is useless. Of course I'd rather go naked, but for a phone that's paid at retail price (so we verizon customers can keep the old unlimited data plan) that would be plain stupid.
I'm really happy with my cruzerlite case so far, not bulky at all and more than sufficient protection. The only addition you need to this is a screen cover, if you even want/need that. The sides have a grip, but it's not "rubbery" so the phone still slides in and out of my pocket easily.

Can you guys start including notes on if NFC works with these cases? I assume it's only metal backed ones that have issues...
I have the iSkin Aura and love it except for the issue of NFC not working.

I bought it at sprint for $29.99 and its fits all the gs3 since they are all the same. I bought it at a local sprint store. Vzw has a similar one too with a kick stand.
Ok guys sorry for the broken links, here are some updated ones.

I got this case when I got my SIII but only because it was the only one with a belt clip. I don't really like it because its way to tight to unholster the phone while clipped. so I got my Otterbox defender case today from smartphonepedia. it was not a deal at $44 plus $4 for shipping but hey I got it and it fits great! buttons are just right and a great case over all.

Really liked the concept, but upon watching the video, the thing in the back doesn't look very sturdy :[
Can anyone who owns the case confirm this?

Is there a rugged case?

Is there a real rugged case for the zenfone 2 yet? I like the otterbox defender but they do not even do any cases for asus phones so is there any alternative?

There are generic china-made ones available but it doesn't look good imo. But they look tough.

those china ones still do not have a cover over the glass though correct?
No no cover. I'm using one like that the amzer hybrid and it's actually pretty decent. Haven't dropped yet so don't know how effective it is. You might need to take an exact knife to the USB and 3.5mm holes though depending on what cables you use. That being said I ordered 2 lighter tpu cases on eBay yesterday. The case fits the phone like a glove though

Being the freak that I am, I always order three things when I get a new phone, first, Glass screen protector a must! second, silicone case for everyday use, third, rugged case for sporting and outdoors. I got this rugged case, for the price, it actually works quite good, good enough for drops. Not a fan of of the "kick-stand" but no choice in the matter. Fourth, I usually get a waterproof case but haven't been able to find one for this phone. I'm sure it will come out soon, nice thing to have when you're on the beach in Jamaica

I have one as well....the only thing I don't like about it is when taking it off, it wants to take the back with it. But yes, in conjunction with a tempered glass screen protector it does the job
This case is a little slimmer and protects well from drops (I'm clumsy )

Anyone manage to find a waterproof case for this phone? not those generic bags ones, one that's actually made for this phone.
I use this exact case, and drop my phone 3x a day, and it works great. Couldn't be happier with it.
Anyone seen something like that?

Wow. I would love something like this. I am clumsy as hell.
I found this:

Current cause that I know. Rugged and covers the front as well. Had it for a few months and the phone is still spotless. Case itself it's a bit scratched up but it has more quality than you'd think.
The transparent silicone bumper on Aliexpress works pretty good. It overlaps the screen a bit so it's protected from falls or scratches.
I have the Devilcase for Zenfone 2.
I need one like this as well now
TUDIA Ultra Tough OMNIX Heavy Duty Protective Cover Case for ASUS ZenFone 2
I use that, bought on ebay. Very good.

Does someone know if it would really fit?
