which kernel does this use ?

Jan3, nice to see you back here. I am +1 fan of your MIUI work!
I had try derycklong, langthang this morning but I satisfy with 'officially' package. I had try scoop but can't get his EN package link and I don't know whether it is from scoop or not. I nearly abandon MIUI 2.3 until found http://www.miui-dev.com/roms/.
I just let some guide know about my finding.
Again, thank jan3.

Yes, via CWM with MIUI(1-8-120-30)_flash.cfg

For those wondering, I installed this last night, twice. The initial ROM is fine, the problems start when you install the English pack which replaces the build.plop file.
1) You need to install the ROM
2) Back up build.prop with a file manager (root explorer can do this)
3) Reboot and install the English pack
4) Boot back into MIUI (it may take awhile to load and you'll get some really odd glitches)
5) When you manage to get back into MIUI, fire up root explorer and copy the original build.prop file back
6) Edit the build.prop file and go down to where the language and region is and change language from 'zk' (or whatever it is) to 'en' and region from 'CN' to 'US'.
7) Save the file and restart the phone
You should then have a complete MIUI ROM with English language pack and all the glitches from before should be gone!

langthang's v3 is the best Gingerbread MIUI so far in my view. Running it since last night with no issues, Scoop's still has a few problems to be resolved.

Thanks will try to do my make miui the best again. And your right about the package.

I had some issues with all new 2.3 MIUI:
Randomly lost ext-partition after restart phone (not reboot - shutdown -then restart)
Some color banding
Had to manually set up my MOBIFIONE CARRIER APN (I had auto config with NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.5 or Incredible S). I had investigate all apns-conf.xml from all related build and found my carrier all listed there.
Any experience to solve is appriciated!

I don't have any problem installing this version. All you need is a full wipe, install the ROM, then install EN language pack, then reboot the system...
Everything seem to run smooth as silk, for now....

That's the thing, I did all that, and other people are reporting the same problem. It's because the build.prop file from the language package has loads of stuff for the milestone which aren't for Leo. Unless of course someone has updated the language files on MIUI...

......:::::: INSTRUCTIONS ::::::......
Since this is a development/test version I will not provide too many detailed instructions because I suppose if you want to test this you know what you are doing. This is also the reason why I will monitor this thread for the new bugs/issues/fixes you can find, but will not give a lot of supports on it just because we all know the bugs and the issues, it's just a matter of time and will be fixed.
HD2 512MB users needs CWR with at least a 390mb System partition and an sd card with an EXT3/EXT4 partition
HD2 1024MB users can use the build without needing the EXT partition. in this case, nand will be used as data storage (390mb system partition is needed anyway)
Make a nandroid backup! During the flash all your data, apps, settings will be DELETED!
You should WIPE all your data before flashing or you can have unpredictable bugs and weird behaviour.
Flash the ZIP thru CWR and reboot
Wait 2-5 minutes to have the build to settle
Do all your settings in the wizard, wait other 5 minutes, then reboot again
I suggest you to wait 2-3 minutes every time you reboot, on the lockscreen, to have smooth and lag-free build.
As soon you can, go in settings, audio, and deactivate the touch tones, to avoid robo voice or phone freezes.
Remember: if you want to avoid Data Corruption always choose SHUT OFF and not reboot, also when I write "reboot"

Thank you very much for your beta release.

Video Play/Streaming
because with the Desire HD rom some bugs never solved.....
Then every cooker can release the rom wanted.

Those issues can be solved probably only re-coding the libs. So it's a job for coders.. and I'm not one of them.

Without Camera and Video far from ice As i understand kernel does not compatible with new Sense?
experiment with this ROM
First thanks for your work (my donation is coming).
Currently I am running your Desire HD 4.01 (NAND CWM), I like it a lot.
I would like to experiment with this GB build, but without ruining the current 4.01 installation (recovery and partitions).
How can I install this build to try it and later restore the 4.01?
1. I will backup my current NAND
2. I should wipe the cache and dalvik, should I wipe data as well?
3. Install the new zip file (should I do something with rge recovery CWM? doe something with the FLASH.CFG?
Upon returning to the old 4.01, should I do the above again and do a restore?
Please advice
Thanks again

backup, wipe userdata (YES! ALL!) and when you want to go back, just wipe all again then restore.
Rafpigna - what ist the benefit of using the HD ROM with GB as Core and not the Desire S Rom? Any improvements , new apps? How does the Speed compare to DS?
Any special features?
Im using the GB build from Desire S and im satisfied, but i would like to try something new if they are different!

I had to call my "no-sense" kernel as "gingerbread"
Basically my standard kernel works an all android versions
the "no-sense" one works an all versions too but Wifi works ONLY on gingerbread or no-sense froyo.

Not tried the Desire S build.
Dont know the differences but during my compares I see a bunch of libs are differents and all the apps and framework are different.
About the speed, this first version is snappy after some hours... anyway as stated in OP is just a first release and will be improved soon.
Anyway you can always make a CWR backup and restore it back your desire s version if you want.. this is the nice thing of CWR, but you will need a 390mb system

F.A.Q.
1) Where can I see for more info?
For any questions please refer to this Thread: Gingerbread XXJVK info and news.
2) Why do you advise me the bootloader version? safe?
For those who pass for the first time from Frøya to Ginger is a must with the bootloader version. In fact if you flash a version without the bootloader, you will have the graphical glitch (colored striped screen) during boot and beyond.
This bug/problem is due to the fact that you are using a bootloader old and need updating.
This does not prelude the possibility of returning to Froyo and / or ginger. only updates the bootloader.
In addition, the version I posted is absolutely secure.
3) There is an installation less: invasive / fast / easy?
For now, no. As they become available methods of installation easier, I will certainly update you.
Have Fun!

I have big problems with Gb keyboard with ALL GB-Roms.
So I ask you, too, if you or anyone will have, any probs with a laggy and slow (I think without multitouch like on froyo) GB-keyboard?
So again I've flashed a lot Roms but always the same...
If you can surely can confirm that you don't have the bug in your Rom or you did something special that fixed this, I'll try your Rom.
But if not or you aren't sure, you maybe have a solution for this?
PS: I flashed JVK WITH bootloaders with 512 but also 513.pit file a lot of times, then a kernel (special for darky or the speedmod for other Roms).
Cheers!

I have big problems with Gb keyboard with ALL GB-Roms.
So I ask you, too, if you or anyone will have, any probs with a laggy and slow (I think without multitouch like on froyo) GB-keyboard?
So again I've flashed a lot Roms but always the same...

what's the problem with rom?
you followed the instructions to the letter?
what procedure you followed to install the base rom?
One question, how to change CSC? For the original code * # 272 # IMEI # does not work in version 2.3.3 thank you
i flashed JVK with your link. and then i flashed speedmod-kernel-k13d-500hz via odin. then flashed your rom. then reboot phone. entered recovery again wipe data, cache partition and dalvik cache. but phone is not well responding some time.

Hi guys, today I want to show you my first ROM for my Galaxy S.
Actually it was made only for the forum in which I collaborate (www.uebarena.com/android-arena), however I decided to let it make an appearance on XDA too.
First of all, Credits:
-the whole cm7 team for the awesome AOSP rom
-zacharias.maladroit, for the awesome kernel
-the xda comunity, with its guides and tutorials which helped me out a lot
-my dear friend Memnoch (have a look at his rom on the DHD forums) who supported me in this process
-my beta testers which trusted me and tested all my builds.
Secondly, Features
(See Changelog in 2nd post)
SCREENSHOTS (launcher pro plus not included in the rom)
VIDEO by umberto1978
(quality is not the best, but he promised to make another one with a better camera, since he is recording with a galaxy mini as you can see )
Pre-installation:
-backup all your app &data before flashing (with titanium, mybackup ecc...)
-I suggest doing a factory reset, so that you come from a fully clean install.
-if you are already on a CM7, do a format of /system and wipe dalvik & wipe cache.
-if you are on a stock rom, first you need a CWM.
Installation
requirements:
_any gingerbread rom (stock or custom)
_CWM recovery
1)
_put the .zip file in your internal sdcard
_reboot in recovery
_factory reset
_install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard> CyanoForTomorrow_v1.0.zip
_when it ends flashing, reboot
_Done. Enjoy.
2)
_download latest gapps here
_flash them in recovery
_Done
If coming from a previous release of CFT:
_reboot in recovery
_wipe dalvik & wipe cache
_flash the rom
_reboot
_after that, install the gapps
(optional) Post-installation
Battery calibration
_connect the phone to the charger, wait till it reaches 100%, then use the battery calibration app.
Change theme:
_open the theme chooser app, select a theme and apply it.
lockscreen ICS-style
_download the file ics-metamorphhere
_put it in your internal sdcard.
_open metamorph
_unzip/extract new theme
_tap the arrow and browse to the theme
_apply
change font
_downlod my font packhere.
_extract
_create a folder named .fontchanger in your sdcard and put all the fonts in it
_opene the app, choose the font and let it reboot (if not, do it manually)

CHANGELOG:
Announcement:
this project has changed his main purpose.
due to the temporary instability of ICS portings, and since buildbot (RIP) stopped building nightlies a long time ago,
I'll manage to keep cm7 alive, updated and optimized at best with my rom,
using as a base the kangs provided by the "kangaroo" thread here on XDA.
v1.4
-new rom base, updated until 02.02.2012 (check the cm7 changelog)
-ics animations are finally back
-"hello hello bug" fixed
-added HW acceleration to stock browser (need feedback on that)
-changed kernel to Fugumod (daily 1976v)
v1.2.1
-updated base, with new stock lockscreens (Holo is beautiful)
-T9 dialing in phone app (like on stock roms) is included, pretty useful and works like a charm.
-JVU modem
-Thunderbolt removed (caused instability on the long term)
-no ICS anims (problem with framework, will be implemented in next releases)
v1.2
-updated kang base (it has all the cm7 updates until the 7th of december, give a look at the official cm7 changelog)
-changed bootanimation
-thunderbolt 2.2.0 scripts included (credits to pikachu01, original thread here)
-double release: one has the platypus kernel, the other one stays with the stock cm7 kernel
-keeps all the stable and fast features as before, just in a better way.
-other nice stuff you better not know

Why not including the ICS lockscreen directly in the ROM ? This is not possible?

And no, I won't buy a SGS2, as my sgs is perfect and fully functional
SGS1 FTW!
Feedback: The ROM is fast, good bootanimation, there is a small difference between default and zacharia's kernel, but i prefer the second one ! And that would be great if you include by default ICS theme and lockscreen .
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . (Topic marked as favourite )

that's mainly because not everybody likes it like I or we do...
I've received mixed opinions about this,
so I thought it would be better to let the end-user choose to apply the theme and the lockscreen, or to stick with a different theme/lockscreen.
oh and thanks for the feedback

Here is my Bravo Gingerbread HTC Desire_3.14.405.1 port for the HD2. I took a sample of [CLK/MAG][EU/TMO] HTC Supersonic 4.54.651.1 Ram Method[v0.7] , but I used another base rom.

Features:
Stable and Fast.
Android - Gingerbread 2.3.3;
Sense 1.0
Videorecording 800x480
Designed for installation of a fully in NAND.
Due to the small size is suitable for both the European and the American device.
There is only one version for both clk/magldr, and will automatically choose CLK or MagLDR boot accordingly during install.
Everything should work
Differences between versions 1.2 and 1.3:
Different base Rom
Stock, without any mods
Updated kernel to marc1706_desire_0.2.1
Fixed a bug with the weather forecast
Fixed a bug with the dialer
Added the icon "search contacts" in the menu (it was hidden in the original Rom)
Returned to standard voltage (not to be random reboots)
Added the possibility of using EXT partition
Kernel:
In the firmware used marc1706_desire_0.2.1
Only Known Bugs:
-720 record doesn't work in HTCCamera
Requirements:
240 mb system partition with at least 5 mb cache (without the EXT partition)
or
115 mb system partition with at least 5 mb cache (with the 512-1024 mb EXT partition)
Important:
The first boot, when using EXT partition, can take 15-20 minutes. The next reboot will be much faster.

I did a port for myself. I added the Russian language in the stock firmware. The original firmware is not multilingual, but if it will be interesting try to add other languages.

Well, I tried, it works smooth, fast, APM is good, but locale switching doesn't works fine. Spanish tranlation is very poor, using More Locale 2, and another similar app.
Really, I think if you not try to add some langs in the firmware, your work not became so popular, due to this item.
Don't forget that many forum users are not english native, and understanding english enough, we prefer to use our own native lang.
It's only an advice, with good desire.
Does this need an EXT3/4 partition on the SD card ? I am guessing no
@ dev please clarify this

This firmware version is uploaded more for the sample. If you are interested I will make it multilingual. Russian language in the original version was not there and I add it, for this had to repack all of apk. So it's real.
GB for better compatible , sense rom for better camera/camcoder picture
let me try!!!

Hi, I will be very grateful to you if you try it. I'm advanced user, but I can't resolve how to add langs to a rom.
Bye
why are you using this htc asia wwe? and not the official 2.3.3 base with multilanguage?
Very well made ROM nice and responsive, I like the little visual touches and enchantments you've made and the fact that you compiled a light version as well, which I really appreciate, thank you! I hope to see more releases, I'm always glad to see another developer picking up a Sense based ROM and further improving it reaching closer to perfection with each build .
The only error I have had so far is Android Market related, on MAGLDR, Sense 1.0 Lite, I cannot download anything from the Market I click Install, Ok, and the download error appears and disappears and the app is still not installed. Tried a few reboots, cleaned market cache and fixed permissions but nothing, thanks in advance.

I once used MIUI (on of the 4.0.4 version) it was good for some day but then it started to slowdown.
I love open source and i understand from what i read around MIUI is getting to be a closed source rom.
is it true or just a misunderstanding?

Yes MIUI is apple-like now, they push unofficial build to the edge, made it really hard to use their own system. Why they do this? If they want to do this at least made an original OS like iOS not built up based on android though -_-

I love open source and i understand from what i read around MIUI is getting to be a closed source rom.
is it true or just a misunderstanding?

MIUI is just like TouchWiz or Sense, they don't need to release the source code. AFAIK framework is under Apache. Just Kernel under GPL
It's still lucky if they release MIUI rom for several devices, and make a way to port MIUI to other devices using PatchROM(even though they seems tighten the belt). Of course it will even excited to open the source, so many devices can join in, just like CM or AOKP. But they have their own devices on sales, so it's can be tolerated.

Bootloop
Hi thanks for your efforts to give us such a great rom..
The alpha 1 version was awesome, I tried it for 2 days without any lag and no need for any tweaks.
but I tried alpha 2 version today with kernel 3 and I'm sorry to say it cause a bootloop
I even try to downgrade it but it still in bootloop, and suddenly after many bootloops it works and when i came to about I see it's still kernel 3 !!!
Now I'll try to flash it again without kernel 3 at all.
Thanks

Sorry my friends, i upload wrong file for downgrade packet.
i update my link now. sorry for the inconvenience.
on kernel 3.0 usb mass storage not working.. so if you upgrade while usb attached, may cause error.
i see on cm10 thread usb work if we not wipe anything, i'll look for it.
upgrader and downgrader kernel fixed, both usb mass storage work. will be up soon.
if you want to use another kernel please just use kernel i provide in first post. and please downgrade to kernel v2.6 first if your target is kernel v2.x.

Hi,
I've downloaded kernels from the new links and flash k3, without usb attached but it also go into a bootloop...
after 3 or 4 bootloops the phone normally boot but just for a while and then reboot again to enter a bootloop sequence ..
and I tried to run camera when it boot normally and it said "Cannot connect to camera" !!
What is this ? is K3 incompatible with our device ?
Thanks coliv_aja for your efforts, and waiting for your solution.
Note: I'm using Link2SD, is that might cause the problem ?

All work on mine. i have been tried back to back from kernel 2.6 to 3.0. and 3.0 to 2.6 all working fine, no error or force close at all.
please clean install with full package first (format system, data, cache, but backup first, you can restore data back after all seems worked well), maybe any left over from my previous broken patch.
camera not work on kernel 3.0 yet, see on cm10 page !
Please check your MD5 with first page, maybe you are downloading old file, please dowload again on first page. my uplink speed is suck. :silly:
please do not use mod or build.prop tweaks if all not working well yet. use it only if you'r sure all working well.
kernel 3.0 and 2.6 have different build.prop, so do not replace build.prop if you don't know what you are doing.
for fast respon my IM on my profile page.

O.K. I've already read that camera not working in K3, so I'll stop here till this point get fixed.
BTW may you till us what is main difference between K2.6 and K3 ? and when do u expect camera will be added ?
Thanks
Im sorry, I want to ask sth. If I want to use kernel 3.0 so I must download the rom 2.12.7 then kernel 3.0 packet, then I flash whole rom, flash the kernel and gapps, right? And with kernel 3.0 is the project butter implemented? Sorry for asking because I'm confuse a bit
-sent from my awesome phone-
did your problem already solved dude?
I don't know when, but sure arco working hard on it. camera is the hardest part, even in previous build, we only can emulate it using HAL.
on kernel 3.0 there is active vsync, so project butter is working well.

yes you have to flash 2.12.7 alpha 2 first. then flash kernel 3.0 packet. then you can flash gapps after.
packet kernel is just upgrade pack.
sorry for inconvenience, i have bad uplink speed. i can upload a whole pack. but thats will be waste. because major of files is the same. its can save your storage btw. that's why i prefer make a patch pack.
yes project butter is implemented, vsync activated.
French ??
