please how could i read *.mdx or microsoft access files on our s2???? - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

hi all
please i need a program in order to open microsoft acces files or extention *.mdx even though through market $
thanks in advance

help please.....

Search reveals .
It looks easier to get this into a format acceptable to Android by converting the Access .mbx file into an Excel .xls file. This can be searched readily by Column and Values. Maybe this deals with too simple a need for most enquirers to the forum, but if it helps somebody then so much the better.
hi all i have beenlooking for something the same for some time now and just the other day i came accross this site cellica.com
the android app is free and the desktop application has a 5 day trial period or its $50 to buy it works great the only thing you can not do is create a report from the phone
i have emailed support team and they said they will be adding it on in the future.

Program to make websites into cabs?

is there a program out there to make a favorite/bookmark into a cab file so it will install as a .ink or program file? my whole idea is to make a bunch for things like fedex/ups tracking, store locators, and random rss feeds and some random websites for easy access. i want to make a folder in my start menu for these and iconize them to look like apps. thanks in advance. i am 100% willing to share my work if i can get the program and i am willing to take on custom orders.
Something like this i found long ago
The only ways I know of are either making a Widget or Making an exe that browses the site like I believe that starbucks one is. I did something similar for YouMail In visual studio.

the starbucks.cab actually creates an .ink file that when launched, directs you to the store locator page on their site. i downloaded it probably 2 years ago and i forgot from where. it is exactly what i am looking to create. i dont want to make wigets because they take up alot more space than an .ink file. as you can see, this cab is a measly 12k and wigets can be 100k+.
I opened the cab in WinCe Cab Manager and it has an exe in it and also a shortcut its not hard to make one of these the exe is still very small mine for you mail is 22kb and it has a few feautures but it just gets the job done.
ive never used visual studio in my life, but i learn new software very quickly. let me know which version of visual studio i should use for wm6.5 wvga and i will get it crackin and pump out exes all weekend
btw with everyone looking at this thread, leave comments on which sites you would like me to create, like i said i got all weekend to work on this...
visual studio 2008 you kinda have to know a lil visual basic or some programming language you can now add 6.5 and 6.5.3 sdk's to visual studio.
cool im bout to start working on it now. thanks!
just downloaded vs 08. im reading all kind of tutorials ive found about it to make exes. lets see how long it will take me to figure this out
Are we talking like IE or Opera or something else?
Because for IE it's easy, you have Windows\Favorites and file name is what ie uses for name and inside is like
[InternetShortcut]
URL=ht+tp://something/
without the + of course

ok im stuck, please someone help if you can. i looked for a wm template for vsb8 to make exes and i cant find one, so i basically reverse engineered the starbucks app i uploaded to see if i can just switch out the site and icon and i cant. credit and appreciation is granted to anyone who helps out!
{SBR}_L3GION, thanks for the jumpstart on this. unfortunatly after 5 days of trying to get a template for wince exes, i had no luck. like i said before, i dont know a damn thing about vsb8 and i tried to learn and failed, so i am ceasing production with these. it was good while it lasted. again thanks.
for an easier approach, try using link creator from freewarepcoketpc.net. paired with an icon changer. you can grab any favorite you have saved and make a link to it in the start menu, then use icon changer to make a high def. icon. use iconpedia, they have awesome icons for free!

I don't really understand why you want an .exe, when a simple .lnk file will work just fine.

Ftp server for windows mobile

Hi all,
i just released a ftp server for mobile.
more information at
remorftpmobile dot wordpress dot com
its a first version for test only.
thank you all
Wow, good work! I'll have to keep a close watch on this project
Dave, it is already available for download, please try it!!
thanks!
Seems fine but its a bit too much stuff like the "client commands", "serial key" and stuff, I would like to have those options in another menu, not in the main screen. I want a mobile-FTPserver to be easy with a simple interface where I just have to set the portnumber login and password and see my wireless-IP. And ofcourse a Online and Offline button.
I could set it up but got some errors, don't remember. When I got connected it asked for a password.. I had set it to none on both login and pass but I couldn't get through in the win7 ftp explorer. Then I tried with the standard "user/pass" login and got through but then it told me that I didn't have sufficient rights to view the contents.
However I think you've got a nice program going here and windows mobile needs a few competent apps for this, I haven't searched much but it doesn't seem to be many FTPserver apps out there for wm..
So keep it up mate! I hope you will take my opinions into consideration The best ideas are the easiest ones!
EDIT.
And post some screens here also and mabye the cab attached?
Hi mattie,
thanks for your evaluation!! Sure i'll consider your oppinion, i'm doing it right now. I am now migrating it from lazarus LCL project to KOL project. It will become smaller, because 1,8Mega is too much. I think that it will became less than 1M.
The firtst thing is organize it in pages as you suggested.
About your connection try. You should certify yourself if the windows explorer is configured to connect in active mode. The passive mode is not implemented yet (but on the way). To set it as a active mode you can look at my page (remorftpmobile dot wordpress dot com/projects/remor-ftp-server/how-to-use/). Sorry i cant post URLs. About the problem with permission it is not normal because you are running a FAT32 file system and permission is just read only mode. Windows sometimes gives the permission error but it was not the real problem. My questions:
1) Do you tried to delete some file that was in use or something similar? What action gives you the error?
2) What is your device and WM version?
I'll post some screens and the CAB when i finish the KOL version. Should be this week!!
Releasing a free version
Hello all,
after taking some time to do this ftp, o got some other work to do which set me away from this project. But i still using it every day even with some errors
After all, i decide to open the code to share the development with all, so that way we can do a better program. I used lazarus with kol.
Attached you can find the source code and the last cab if you are not a programmer. I hope that i can find some other people with interrest on this project, so i can get motivated to continue it
I dont know any public subversion rep, if any of you have a suggestion...
that's it.
great
Nice work!!!
I wish I could support this project but unfortunately I'm a .NET-developer and not very common with Pascal/Delphi.

[Search] Learning program (vocabulary) for WM (fingerfriendly)

Hi there,
I am so deeply searching a vocabulary trainer which is more or less fingerfriendly for my Touch HD.
It is unbelievable that there is no program like that available and I just need such a simple one:
I want to add "units", which store the vocabulary in German the foreign language. Then the program randomly chooses one of the words and shows the German translation and I, in my mind, think what it would be, and then I click "right" or "wrong" and go onto the next word. I don't even need a text insertion which must be compared...
Does anybody of you know such a program? Not finding this is for me now a reason to switch to Android, because in the market, they have such programs (vocablo). I would of course pay for it.
Thanks a lot!
I would love to program a thing like that. It would even be pretty easy (as far as i see it). The real problem however is creating the database for it.
I have bought the Japanese Trainer from SPB(?) of the store which isn't really great but it is okay-ish. One can even add a lot of words, although they probably didn't plan it that way, but one can simply add new folders and copy images and sound files into them to expand the library. However, if i knew Japanese well enough to create an extended database i would not need the app ... so the real problem in an app like this is always the database..
If you like you can give me an Excel-file with a hand full of words and i can set up a sample app. Unfortunately i will be away from the pc next week, but in the week after that i could give it a try...
please include at least:
Foreign Word, Native Word, Usage example, word class (I think one could then have a nice multiple choice mode, too)
Well, just checked SPBs app, but I would want a much easier program, no need for pictures, etc.
Frankly spoken, I tried to code it myself, but have the same problem with how to save the words. I thought of using a simple textfile, saving the words like that:
mothertongue#foreign language#box
Example:
Haus#house#1
Sommer#summer#3
Österreich#Austria#2
The box is the number of 5 boxes and the program needs to ask all words in the boxes 1 to 4. If I know the word, the number of the box is incremented as long as it is smaller than 5, if I don't know the word the number is decremented.
What is important to me, is that I can add new textfiles, which I then can edit, in order to add or delete words from that file.
Any other ideas?
I would also use a csv file:
word;translation;whatever
you could then easily manage your vocabulary list in excel and save it directly as csv again...
excelent program
Hello
Do you know Leitner system? Flash cards?
Read these two first!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leitner_system
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashcard
Then download this Iranian software... { it is in English }
http://soheil86.50webs.com/Leitner Box/Leitner-Box.html
It is working based on Leitner system...
I have memorized 7k English word with it... Including GRE
Word list..... It is a very very great software
Let me know if you need any help!
Have a nice day
Thanks for the link.
But tell me, can I add units and new words in the program?
I need the program to add words when I am at university.
Did you open the link?
Pay attention to the note at the bottom of the page:
3. You can create data base with leitner box in your device, but if you like to create faster with PC, download data base editor.by editor you can convert your excel files to leitner box data base, and also you can exchange your target and source languages.
4. If you want to import data from excel data sheets, and you dont have excel 2007 installed in your system, download and install this file, first.

Tell me if you need help... I have a program to create database....
but I think you can find everything in that link...
Please update the keywords in this thread and add :Leitner box , flash card
Thank you in advanced

*.PNG files

Hello,
I have on my SGS a newspaper application,so i can read my local newspaper every day on my android. Very nice...
But because is easier to read on big monitor, i was wondering if is possible to read this in windows 7 pc?
So i copy the folder that was on my android sdcard(inside the newspaper application) on windows7 pc, but is impossible for me to read it in one peace, like on android.
Here i have a lot of *.png files and each image is a part of some big image(the regular newspaper page is cut in multiple *.png image files).
I cant found some software to open it and read completely.
Can somebody help me?
Thank you
Kikan
You would be far better off downloading a Windows application for reading newspapers or using Google Reader, since not only is the app you are talking about designed to run on a totally different OS, it is also formatted for a much smaller screen.
If all else fails, just go to your local newspaper's website on any standard browser...I imagine the reading experience will be much the same.
thank you for your answer...
I know all of that, but the apps for android, give me gratis all newspaper,
local newspaper's website give me only basic pages....
And if i'm outside my country, local newspaper's website will not work.
I'm leaving in one country and working in another, so when i drive to work, my apps can download all newspaper and after i can read it outside my country on SGS , and i will prefer to read it on windows pc with bigger screen...
Is there an emulator for android for windows ...::)))
thanks
kikan

Image Sizes and Costs

I downloaded somewhere some image sizes - below are two. I am not too sure which one I downloaded these for / from. But can these icon information be used for Windows Mobile 7, Android, and iPad / iPhone?
From what I think I remember speaking with one developer helping him with testing his game, I think he said it was $99.00 a year for 100 applications. If I only wanted to submit one (free) application, would it be better to find someone that already has the feature to develop this application? The application is very small - mainly to read one specific RSS feed.
Hey
the developer account costs are not connected to the image license price. If you want to submit a WP7 app to the marketplace, you have to own a developer account, that costs $99/year. But this price does not grant the permission to use these pictures. You have to ask the creator whether you're allowed to use them.
Regards
Chris
Thanks - sorry I did not mean to imply I would use these images, I just did not know if it was these image (sizes / quality) that was needed.
If the developer has an account though and he develops the app that I need, can he use that account to upload the app?
Hey
For the licensing procedure and requirements you should visit this link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh184843(v=VS.92).aspx
But I don't get your question. If you're asking wheter you could have another developer programming and submitting the application you need the answer is yes. Every developer that has an account can send apps in. You just have to find someone that wants to create your application. Another possibility would be to program your app yourself and send the compiled version to a developer, so that he can pass it to the WP marketplace...
Regards
Chris
If you need an app built for something easy like an RSS feed, check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941248
it discusses a build your own app website.
http://thirdlabs.com/
I have never used it and have no afiliation with the site, but it looks easy enough...
Anywho, once the app is made, you can
sideload it (if you're unlocked)
pay for a dev account and submit it ($99 a year)
try to get a free student account and submit it (see here )
find someone with a dev account that will submit it for you
good luck
Thanks for the links! I have run into the RSS feed link - but it was not that site.
Yes, Chris - that answers that question. I thought as much but wanted to make sure. (Sorry it is difficult for me to sometimes get my point across due to my health).
