GUYS PLZ COMMENT!!
Sent from my Hero using XDA App

so it's cm7, like ele's cm7 rom, but built by the cdma hero cm7 developer instead of the gsm hero cm7 developer (ele). Interesting. There should be little difference I would think since the hardware is almost the same and I believe ele has talked with cdma folks in the past to share fixes and features both ways....
but it's worth trying this anyhow. hopefully the gps works at all, and is reliable and stable.

First..... this rom has awsome speed, its smooth, fast and quite stable.
-everything works i think
-smooth UI, similar to OMFGB
-amazing speed
Bugs: i cant install some part of my apps like: cut the rope, or titanium backup 4.x.x(i installed 3.8.3),Honeybrad theme, NTsense theme.
it says Application Not Installed.

Can this rom play a video longer than 71 minutes???

First impressions very good, very fast and responsive. Will test GPS navigation tomorrow. Would like an option for 2d gallery if possible. Thanks for the ROM, as fast a GB as I've used

I also experienced problem where it won't install some of the applications. Other than that pretty good rom, haven't tested GPS properly though, just for a few minutes.
Sent from my Hero

ffast & stable ...battery life is also good ... thanx gona stick with this rom...

no chinese.....can you add chinese language?

How come does it that the CDMA Hero roms (Ports) of GB run faster and better then the actuall CM7 version we got for the GSM Hero?
Aint that just stupid?

all I can think of is the fact that CDMA hero has always had a much larger and more advanced dev team than gsm hero. There has frequently been some trickle-down of their concepts into our roms. Sometimes we're in the lead, but more often than not the real inventors have been working hard on the cdma side.
Maybe this is still true?
However I'm not in any way putting down the great devs and cookers who have kept gsm hero one of the most popular underground phones even now
Elelinux, erasmux, JieeHD, Riemer, Ninpo, rdejager, Feeyo, Pulser, robocik, RaduG...
and everyone else of course.
;-)
Just sayin... heh heh (should be a nice controversial list for ppl to read through)

For those having troubles with apks installing, pushing them to system/app is a workaround for the time being (or so i have found ymmv)

k, yea that is a really strange and annoying problem for sure. I've hit it with a few things.

LOL, I didn't realise that guide on my server was public. Leaking FYA stuff before it's even on the site. Don't tell!

It seems that it is a more thorough way of clearing the cache memory.. Wiping dalvik should also speed up the phone.. Weather it is noticable or not I am not sure.. But I flash my roms like that, and it always boots..
so could Dalvik be cleared anytime? or would you only recommend doing it after flashing rom?

Yes i was a fan of that. I have tried R64 noir since and prefer that. Also racerboy has a tangerine theme and pele has black.
Also thinking of including tegraks kernel and app as I believe it is the fastest

Don't mean to interrupt but just wanted to point out :
Clearing dalvik does not make your system faster, if anything it makes it slower (only at initial startup). The whole point of dalvik is to keep a bytecode of every apk on your phone so it can execute them faster than loading the .dex from the apk everytime.
As for clearing it upon flash, it could possibly be a good idea, although id recommend doing something like
rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*[email protected]*
This will keep your regular apps intact and just re-create the bytecode's for the system apps. Now mostly if a dex is inconsistent, android will automatically create a new one. You can confirm that in the log.
Thanks Daneshm90 for clearing that up for me..
where would you suggest that "rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*[email protected]*" is included ??
I will add thanks to you in the 1st post also as your signature helped me out greatly.

Im not sure if it can be done through edify/ammend syntax.
I know though you could write your own script with the line i mentioned above. Call it say clear_dalvik
Then in your updater-script call
run_program("clear_dalvik");
I`m will try it now
10ks tricky for new rom
give you report
First, thanx for a wonderful background pic of the horsehead nebula.
Second, Sweet with a slim ROM, better to start with Ultra-slim and then add what you want then build in everything, we all want different things in a ROM, you probably want English dictionary, I want English and Swedish, good, then I add Swedish myself, "that other dude over there" may be from Denmark and want Danish, cool, then he adds Danish, "she over there" may be from Japan, cool, she adds Japanese(we all probably want English as well), most of us got totally different preferences.. But I have to say, Ultra slim is good as a start
Will test out this ROM a bit later(tomorrow or so), but posting here so I get notifications of updates.
Yeah, tangerine

Suggestions if you are taking any.
Yes and if you taken the time and effort to create an odin version, why not put GB bootloaders in it as well instead of making ppl flash XXJVR first and then this if they are coming from Froyo. Might be a good idea to provide a cwm recovery flashable version for ppl who are already on GB rom's. Not everybody is next to the computer when they flash new ROM.
one last thing, you fixed on kvr but missed this

Installed kernel TalonDEV 0.4.3 ... working great.
I also installed the theme GingerWay BlueOcean (I had to make my own install script to make it work).
Seems to be a little bit laggy, compare to my previous JVQ (Criskelo V77) with same kernel ... I then put lagfix and now it's much better (even if I thought that lagfix was obsolete on newer GB ROMs ...).

Hi guys, today I want to show you my first ROM for my Galaxy S.
Actually it was made only for the forum in which I collaborate (www.uebarena.com/android-arena), however I decided to let it make an appearance on XDA too.
First of all, Credits:
-the whole cm7 team for the awesome AOSP rom
-zacharias.maladroit, for the awesome kernel
-the xda comunity, with its guides and tutorials which helped me out a lot
-my dear friend Memnoch (have a look at his rom on the DHD forums) who supported me in this process
-my beta testers which trusted me and tested all my builds.
Secondly, Features
(See Changelog in 2nd post)
SCREENSHOTS (launcher pro plus not included in the rom)
VIDEO by umberto1978
(quality is not the best, but he promised to make another one with a better camera, since he is recording with a galaxy mini as you can see )
Pre-installation:
-backup all your app &data before flashing (with titanium, mybackup ecc...)
-I suggest doing a factory reset, so that you come from a fully clean install.
-if you are already on a CM7, do a format of /system and wipe dalvik & wipe cache.

CHANGELOG:
Announcement:
this project has changed his main purpose.
due to the temporary instability of ICS portings, and since buildbot (RIP) stopped building nightlies a long time ago,
I'll manage to keep cm7 alive, updated and optimized at best with my rom,

-JVU modem
-Thunderbolt removed (caused instability on the long term)
-no ICS anims (problem with framework, will be implemented in next releases)
v1.2
-updated kang base (it has all the cm7 updates until the 7th of december, give a look at the official cm7 changelog)
-changed bootanimation
-thunderbolt 2.2.0 scripts included (credits to pikachu01, original thread here)
-double release: one has the platypus kernel, the other one stays with the stock cm7 kernel
-keeps all the stable and fast features as before, just in a better way.
-other nice stuff you better not know

Great to see yet another CM based Rom...
Great Welcome to XDA mate...
hi thanks for this rom . .1 quick question ..i see u mention better wi fi which was 1 of the issues i had with 7.1 but i also kept getting the 'hello hello' bug with incoming calls .. and i didnt want to use the speakerphone trick ... is that solved with this rom ? thanks !!
Definitely worth to flash.
Will you update regularly to the new nightlies?

Hi thanks,
yeah of course.
A v1.1 will come up in the next days with the neo18 kernel (definitely awesome)
and with a new cm7 nightly base, as long as they add more fixes or interesting things

Mate, i'll flash it now before going out ! I'm sure that this ROM is awesome and has some tweaks . Here we go .

Why not including the ICS lockscreen directly in the ROM ? This is not possible?

Hahaha thanks mate
And no, I won't buy a SGS2, as my sgs is perfect and fully functional
SGS1 FTW!
Feedback: The ROM is fast, good bootanimation, there is a small difference between default and zacharia's kernel, but i prefer the second one ! And that would be great if you include by default ICS theme and lockscreen .
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . (Topic marked as favourite )

that's mainly because not everybody likes it like I or we do...
I've received mixed opinions about this,
so I thought it would be better to let the end-user choose to apply the theme and the lockscreen, or to stick with a different theme/lockscreen.
oh and thanks for the feedback

::EDIT::
p.s. a quick look on their site says that there is a new version released today, version 2.1....maybe you could port this too? I couldn't work out how to download it ha ha

Where can I find the link to take the last verzion.Thanks.And sorry for my question
just installed, and so far so good.....rom runs very smooth and fast.
only one annoyance that i've noticed is that it very often pops up with an error about updating the system because it's not official version rom? this may be resolved if we can find a way to manually prevent the phone from checking for updates?
any devs know if a way to do this?
::EDIT::
just tested the rom with Data2SDInstallerNXE2.zip and I now have 1gb for app storage and it's running great and smooth still....

As requested by you, my grateful users, I humbly present to you...
The WildChild Sense ROM
This is basically your stock HTC Sense 2.1 ROM, with a few extra twists:
WildChild themed (hope ya like blue!)
Einstein Frat's latest "Cake" (v1.4) over-clocked kernel
De-Odex'ed ROM (with an Odex version coming very, very soon!)
Extra alarm & notification sounds
a2sd support (with Link2SD bundled... go nuts.)
Wake screen with volume rocker
CRT animation on/off
Removed the Google Market updater (will provide it as an Add-On, if users wish it)
Some extra crap I'm almost certainly forgetting
Adobe Flash player
Barcode Scanner
Link2SD
Terminal Emulator
AnEq Equalizer
FileExpert
GPSStatus
NoFrills CPU
Notepad
Partitions Info Lite
ScreenFilter (for making your screen ultra-dark)
Startup Auditor
Superuser
WiFi Manager
Wifi Tracker
(ALL apps are at current version, as of today)
As with the original WildChild ROM, I will add flashable .zip "Add-On" packages as users request them. There are currently Add-Ons unique to WildChild Sense (see Post #2, below) or you have the option to experiment with the numerous Add-Ons from my previous WildChild ROM (found here). I suspect most of the original WildChild Add-Ons will work with this Sense ROM, just stay away from anything marked "Nemus" or "Rosie" unless you know what the hell you're doing.
There are two versions of this ROM: Odex'ed and De-Odex'ed. Search on these XDA forums to learn the difference. The Odex'ed version here gives you about 108 MB of internal /data space free for your applications install.
WildChild Sense De-Odex [v1.0]
MD5 = a784c5e8be9c019a2b09c81b3bda0363
WildChild Sense Odex [v1.0]
MD5 = 43649c3bf780dd216d2cb782e86cf4ed
As far as Sense 2.1 ROMs go, this one's pretty slick. Not only is it VERY stable (I tested it for two weeks prior to release with nary a single force-close, hang, or reboot) but, as usual, it's pretty phucking good looking. If you enjoy the Sense UI as much as I do, then I hope you have fun with this ROM. Feedback, as usual, is very much welcomed.
Installation instructions are similar to the previous WildChild ROM. Get 'em here.
Enjoy,
...oh, and since no one will download a ROM without 'em, here are your beloved:
[+] WildChild "Recovery" flash (for when you f*ck up your ROM big time!)
(Recovery Download for DeOdex ROM)
(Recovery download for Odex ROM)
This "Recovery" will replace essential services and framework in the WildChild Sense ROM. It is intended for you hacker folks who took tweaking a step too far and are now caught in a boot loop (or other disastrous consequences). By flashing this recovery, there is a VERY good chance that you will be able to reboot properly into your ROM (so that you may backup your apps, data, etc.) and then re-flash the ROM if necessary.
N.B. By flashing this recovery you may lose some customizations you've made to the ROM (but at least you'll get a chance to get your data back!), so use with caution.
[+] Change the colour of your boot animation
(See preview pics at http://imageshack.us/g/534/snowwhiteh.png/)
Coming soon...
[+] 5x4 app drawer
[+] remove my Ring of Fire lock screen and replace with stock
[+] other cosmetic tweaks and add-on's stolen from the original WildChild
Oh maaan I like this but I like my ultra lite Wildchild too

I know. You can hate me later (when I release the "refresh" for WildChild!)
One of the most frustrating things I remember is setting up my ROM just the way I like it... and then a DEV comes along and releases a ROM I was interested and I was like, "noooooooooo!!! you bastard!".
I think I've spent more time flashing, configuring, and tweaking, than I actually have using my damned phone.
Thanks for all your positive input so far, anhelogr!

Seeing as it's using EF's Dust kernel I would assume not. It is based on GB2.3.5 and marvelc only supports 2.3.4 unless you add support for it when you compile the kernel (and from what I remember he didn't add that to any of his kernels).

Buy me a beer?!
Okay, I'm a little embarrassed to even being writing this but, since enough of you have asked me (both privately and publicly), I feel that I should at least give you the option of showing your gratitude.
I've linked a "Donate" button to the top of my Tigger avatar. You can use that if you wanna throw a buck or two my way. I promise that all money received will go DIRECTLY into my "weekend beer" fund, and not towards my wife or kids.
p.s. I didn't choose the horrible "Donate" icon; it is the standard XDA graphic. *yawn*
Thank you, kindly, for all your support so far.
Anyone tell me what flash player performance is like?
I've never had much luck getting flash player working on sense Roms, only cm7 seems to run it for me.
If someone can confirm it works then I'm in.

is this rom based on newest RUU?
ROM is good. But low scores on Antutu. Is adreno update installed or anything I missed.

There are no Adreno libs.
Also, the ROM scores low (compared to the "original" WildChild) because of all the Sense UI and packages that autostart. I've supplied a startup manager app that you can use to select what does/doesn't launch. If you tweak that (and plug in 768 Mhz/performance for CPU) then it scores a respectable Antutu score... but still nothing close to my Sense-less WildChild. The Sense UI really does take a lot out of a phone (but it's beauty is unparalleled, in my opinion!).
This ROM is purely for those Sense junkies. If it's speed & free RAM you're after, then WildChild (and even the WildChild/CM7-mashup) will make ya happy.
