[QUESTION] Porting Sense 3.5 to wildfire S - HTC Wildfire S

I have my HTC Wildfire S A510e with the last Android 2.3.5 (for WFS) and sense 2.1.
I have one question, for the developers of XDA.
Is possible to port the Original ROM of HTC EXPLORER EUROPE (2.3.5 - Sense 3.5) in the HTC Wildfire S A510e (update the sense from 2.1 to 3.5)??.
HTC EXPLORER EUROPE
display 3.2" (81,3 mm) Res. 320x480 - CPU. Qualcomm 600 MHz - Rom 512MB Ram 512MB - Camera 3.0 megapixel
WFS
display 3.2" (81,3 mm) Res. 320x480 - CPU Snapdragon MSM7227 a 600 MHz, GPU Adreno 200 - Rom 512MB Ram 512MB - Camera 5.0 megapixel
Is possible make this?
I find the look of Sense 3.5 is very amazing.

it would be quite awesome to say the least. i'm sure we have the talent to do it lurking in our forums, but whether or not it will happen would depend on the free time and desires of said talent. i'd love to see this, or a port of the new 4.0 ICS with sense that just got released.

I would also love a port of sense 3.5 on our devices.

I've ported it but it needs proper drivers. Maybe someone can fix it. Ill upload it if anybody's interested.
edit. what does it look like? screen flickers. nothing works. like a broken launcher.

Sense 3.0 and 3.5 roms are typically rather large. I have pulled a Pico RUU [called a zero sense I think but its 3.5 just lightweight]. Unfortunately I'd be deving for marvelc side to begin with (we're still stuck with 2.3.4 roms), but I have got that aforementioned RUU in my "to do" [port sense] pile, right after I build the 2.3.5 kernel and see if that will boot marvelc side. I suppose if things look bleak and I feel like really taking on projects [just hobbying now], I could buy a T-mo WFS and that way I would have a model on both sides [gsm and cdma],.. but no immediate plans on that. Where did Jikarantu sneak off to? He'd be the one you'd want to hit up; if he is lurking about somewhere.
Regards,
Rob

I remember looking at s thread that teaches you how to port sense versions on sense enabled roms ill have a look tomorrow

[COMP] HTC Desire vs Incredible

The Incredible will be released soon in the US - around 2 weeks.
Rumoured specifications seem better than the Desire, eg 8MP camera
I don't know if it will work in the EU and given its imminent release, I'm surprised the Incredible doesnt have its own sub-forum.
Anyone know what the deal is with the HTC Incredible and why there isn't more interest at XDA?
1 - Its CDMA (Verizon).
2 - Very little is known about it (maybe 1 or 2 pictures).
3 - Since it's CDMA and none of the international carriers are selling it, once again not a lot is known.
Those are just my ideas (WTF do I know?). Give it some time. Once it hits, people will start talking.

the Desire have more RAM (576 MB) and better battery (1400 mAh), and also the desire is rumored to have 720p recording, the camera is a boost to the incredible
multitouch bug is not a big issue IMO

No, that's actually been debunked.
I didn't like the original images that were leaked but the new images with more detail paints it in a different light. I also didn't like the low ram specs that were initially released but it seems that has be corrected. I may get one. I'm getting tired waiting for the desire.

[Q] Is it possible to port Android 2.4 from HTC DesirE S to old HTC Desire??

Here the news from MWC:HTC will sell it's new Desire series which named "DesirE S" running ADROID 2.4,so is it possible to port 2.4 to old DESIRE???
Depends on the Hardware and if the Drivers can be patched to work with the Desire.
same snap dragon processor, slighty more RAM, i dont think its much different compared to the htc desire HD
dont rush it guys lol

Its not the same. Desire S has the same with Desire HD
HTC Desire
1 GHz Snapdragon QSD8250 CPU
512 MB ROM
576 MB RAM
5MP camera
No front camera
HTC Desire HD
1 GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 CPU
768 MB ROM
1,5 GB RAM
8MP camera
No front camera
HTC Desire S
1GHz Snapdragon MSM825 CPU
768MB ROM
1.1GB RAM
5MP camera
VGA front-facing camera
So, when it is possible to build ROMs based on the HD then it also must be possible to build ROMs based on the S. But the problem is maybe that here someone has to convert the new android AND new sense version to the Bravo.
Yep,these detail parameters result that we,desire users can ported from new DesirE S ANDROID V2.4,It's only time business I think......

Official Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0

Greetings to all! The other day there was news! In the network be leaked the new OFFICIAL ROM for the HTC Desire S based on Android 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 3.0. Accordingly, HTC Sense 3.0 does not need to optimize and change resolution... Are there any advantages in this for our wonderful HTC HD2?

Sorry, I may be missing something but apart from a 5mp camera, 400MB less ROM and a smaller screen, isn't the Desire S very similar in hardware to the DHD?

there are many ROMs from other devices ported successfully (including Desire S, Desire HD, Sensation,...)
this one is interesting because it is sense 3 like sensation, BUT it is properly sized for WVGA resolution!
then it is important that it is newest android 2.3.5 build.
some things like camera and glithes will probably not be fixed with porting this, but we will have pretty decent ROM with all newest features.

Nope you cannot flash a Desire S ROM to your HD2, that would never work. The ROM would need to be ported for our device first. I would imagine that someone is working on porting this for us...but we will need to wait and see...or start porting it ourselves.

Don't be confused by Wiki.
Snapdragon CPU includes two processors, one is application processor and another is modem processor.
When we talk about the whole CPU, I think the name Snapdragon is more proper than Scorpion.

Most HTC devices have at their core Qualcomm System-on-Chip (SoC) Mobile Station Modem (MSM) integrated circuits. These are based on Advanced RISC Machines Ltd. (ARM) micro-processor and supporting systems designs. In most Smart Phone devices the SoC consists of two ARM micro-processors, one to manage the communications hardware (radio transmitters) and the other to manage the user applications and interface. These are generally known as the modem (or radio or baseband) processor and the applications (or apps) processor. These processors may not be identical since their functions are different.

Processor Communications (an implementation of Inter Processor Communications - IPC) on Qualcomm System-on-Chip devices that have a privileged modem (a.k.a. baseband or radio) processor and less privileged applications processor is via shared memory and interrupts.
Devices based on the Qualcomm MSM and QSD SoC designs also use the Qualcomm-provided modem operating system REX and the Advanced Mobile Subscriber Service (AMSS) application running on the privileged processor - usually an ARM9 design.

HTC G1 Dream Roms

Why cannot we use HTC G1 Dream Android Sense roms when our HTC Diamond specs matches 98-99%
Sorry I know this is an old thread but i want to make it clear for all users why it cannot be done. (well, it could, but let me explain)
The 2.0 sense ports to the g1 are slow ( except a few ports)
There is a resolution difference, and everything will look screwed up if it the port is running.
The sense ports to g1 are originally from other devices such as HTC hero or legend.
So far, without nand Android, sense will be slow even if you have a lot of ram or high overclock.
Possible devices that you could port Android sense from include HTC wildire, HTC tattoo, and basically any device with 320x480 resolution. Our devices have higher resolution and that contributes to the slowness of Android also... If you are feeling lazy, you can use any rom from the htc wildfire section and use that as a base
I hope that makes it clear to those asking the same question
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I have a doubt, how can 320x480 resolution can support(you mentioned) our 480x640 VGA resolution??? Because if 240x320 cant support it then how can 320x480 support our device!!!

[Q] HTC One V [vs] HTC Desire VC

So I'm planning to buy a new phone. And this time I've decided on HTC. But I can't choose between HTC Desire VC or the HTC One V. Which one is better? Both have similar specs but the HTC Desire VC is priced little higher which is not the problem. I'm not able to decide which one to buy. Need some expert recommendations!
This will also happen to be my first Android experience.

Thanks for the comparison up there. The One V has a single core processor yet it is better for gaming? How?
This will be my first Android phone, I'll generally use the phone for applications and few games. Not hardcore gaming like Shadowgun etc, but maybe Real Racing 2 kinda stuff.
Moreover I want a phone that is eligible for a Jelly Bean update in the future. I'm not sure if the HTC Desire V/VC is eligble for an update yet. I don't want to be stuck with a phone that can't be updated from ICS.
Also What do you guys think about the Samsung Galaxy S Advance? In comparison to the HTC One V and Desire V/VC

Go for HTC One V
ONE V
I would consider the One V any day.
Better design, sleeker, better QUALITY (SLCD 2) Display, better processor, better GPU, better recording (HD vs WVGA). And last but not the least.. Chin. :good:
One V because now moving on JB, the importance of a better GPU in Android world will become more and more mandatory.
one v is not very good for gaming..well, for games like temple run and angry birds etc it works fine. if anyone wants to play games like blood and glory and frontline commando, custom firmware must be installed; on stock its just slow and laggy. phone warms up very much while playing games and using the internet. when u get a one v,its true potential should be unlocked by rooting, then gaming is more fun.i have experimented o much with my one v, it has not once posed a problem... love my one v.....
