[MOD] Center Clock and Transparent Status Bar for CM7 Kang - Blade Themes and Apps

Hi all. This mod will give you a transparent status bar with clock in center (see screenshots)
ONLY FOR CM7
Please flash the zips according to the build you're on. Also don't forget to backup framework-res.apk and system-ui.apk just in case.
How to apply:
* Place the statusbar-patch and statusbar-undo files on the root of your sdcard.
* Reboot into CWM and flash statusbar-patch.zip and reboot.
* When the phone boots up your status bar would have disappeared. Don't panic, reboot into CWM again and flash the undo.zip and reboot.
* You'll get the status bar back but without the mod.
* Now reboot into CWM again and flash the patch.zip again and reboot.
* Voila!! You've just made your status bar transparent with the clock in center

Builds from 7thfeb - 17thfeb:
Patch: http://db.tt/Z2quIEQO
Undo: http://db.tt/KWgq6lSF
Builds from 19thfeb and later:
patch: http://db.tt/ZdNiYCCG
undo:http://db.tt/vkbLMXfR
Enjoy

On my rom (update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-Blade-KANG-01FEB-BurgerZ) i get clock in the center without transparency effect I got it just after flashing statusbar-patch.zip once. I tried then undo and again patch.zip but still no transparency.

Are you using ADW? If yes, disable "wallpaper hack" from adw settings. Also you need to have a theme that supports transparency., it just wouldn't work on any theme. Try miui, lunarUI or meizu themes

I'm using FTL launcher: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488483
and i'm not going to change it It's a pity, but your mod is not for me.

nice mod mate can i have permission to add a link to this thread on my thread about Kang Development in the development section im sure users will find this interesting and good to use ?

Sure mate go ahead

Works like a charm. Running 257 Nightly with ADW Ex and LunarUi Transparent theme.
There's one problem though. During installation of market apps, the text overlaps the clock and it looks pretty ugly.

I have tested your mod and its good, just the bug with the overlaping with the clock and the clock is white even if it is themed. So can you make just the transparent mod?, i'm interested just by it.
Thanks

Yo,
It is possible to have (semi-) transparent statusbar on pretty much any theme (default cm7 ones or others) with just a few steps. Although, it depends which launcher you use; I know that it works with ADW [with Wallpaper Hack unchecked] and with GO Launcher [with ~'use High Quality Pictures' option].
If interested, you can go read my 2nd post on this thread. It look awefully long and complicated, but believe me the whole process takes me less than 4-5 minutes now; so give it a shot; you might learn a thing or two in the process...
Cheers.
p.s: I got here looking for recent cm7 nightly builds thread for my gf's blade...still looking...anyone could share a link or two on this. Thx.

Thanks a lot bro..tried it and it worked first time.....thanks again

Thank you AL, your method works with my FTL launcher very well. Only I had to additionally change transparency of those four .png files (with paint.net I set to 128 instead of standard 255). Now I have status bar transparent!

I'm glad that it helped you and thanks for reporting that it works with FTL Launcher. I updated the post and mentioned it there [with a mention to you ].
...since you're a new user on xda: welcome here and don't forget to try the "Thanks" button sometimes hehehe [I feel guilty asking for thanks...]
Cheers!

this does not work anymore with burgerz 19feb build when you select usb connection to pc it gives an error and statusbar disappears
Error: SystemUI stopped working unexpectedly

Sorry Rapier07: I don't want to highjack your thread here but I truly believe that you should bring some changes to the OP and here's why:
I do not believe that those patches (or mods like you've called them) will work on each and every cm7 builds.
To my knowledge, those 'mods' were most likely created from a tool like this one from ZduneX25 --> and that in turns, requires the CM7 build's specific SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk. So any change to either of those two files would render the patches useless.
Different CM7 releases, nightly builds or Kangs are most likely to have some changes to the two files mentioned above. So unless you clearly state in the OP which exact rom those patches have been designed for or tested on, you really should point people to the tool, the UOT Kitchen or even the 'manual' method of editing the systemUI.apk that I've mentioned here a few posts back instead. Otherwise, this thread will soon become a mess of horror stories...
- just like this one -which I will go and refer to this exact post next...
Cheers.
/AL

It looks so good!

@Al
I'm aware about whatever you said there. The zips i posted works for all kang variations before 19th feb. I will keep on updating this as the builds progress. Just couldn't get a hold of the latest build as my Laptop broke.
Also i can point people to the tools as you said but just have a look around the forum and see how many people are struggling to get it working.

will be waiting for the new versions mate

OK, I'm not trying to argue here but I'd just like to ask you a honnest question so bare with me please...
You're saying that your mod should work on every cm7 rom made before Feb19th including builds from burgerz, sej, burstlam and any other kangs?
The fact that it no longer work since that date; isn't that the proof that the two files I mentioned changed and that they most likely were different in the past??
Anyway, fine if it works and that I'm mistaken but I think it was a fair warning. I'll be glad to be proven wrong.
Cheers.

Hehe. No arguments and proving wrong brother i'll update the OP about builds i know it works on

It's launcher pro with black notification bar and a replica of the Sense flip clock.
Does that help?

If you want a build for a particular ROM or stock firmware, you need to get me the unmodified /system/app/SystemUI.apk and /system/framework/framework-res.apk files. I see no obvious way of unpacking the factoryfs.img without flashing it to my own device.
Therefore, repeated "please please please make one for XXKF[x] will be ignored after a certain point.

October 7th 2011: Ok, so listen up. One of my relatives has died and I'm prioritizing to be there for my family as much as at all possible. As much as my Android endeavors enrich me (intellectually and socially, not financially), they are of course less vital than family and work.
Therefore I am on a designing and coding semi-hiatus for the foreseeable future. Basically I'm modding whatever I happen to use myself on my own devices. The UOT Kitchen has my icons on file and fully supports both odexed and deodexed ROMs with or without touchwiz, and everything I can do they can do better.

Finally! Nice work
I was waiting for a transparent notification background since I was unable to make it myself. Apparently you don't even need to edit the services.jar anymore? So if I want to copy over the transparent background to my own framework-res.apk which files should I copy? Thanks in advance!

Transparency is already enabled in stock, so if your png is semi-transparent, there you go. I just made the stock background about 85% transparent in photoshop. The notification background is included in both ...
/system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/status_bar_background.png
and
/system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/status_bar_background.png
... and to be honest, I didn't bother tracking which is used and how - both apks are a bit of a mess, actually
Hi, could you make a version without transparency for KE2 please?
Actually are the icons just in SystemUI.apk and the framework-res.apk is for the transparency effect? Or is the batt icon in framework-res too?
Looks great in the screenshots. Sorry for the newbie question, but is it possible to have this if my phone is not rooted and there is no CWM installed?

You definitely need root at least, although you can copy across the files using root explorer (or something similar) instead of using CWM.. don't forget to mount as RW and set permissions afterwards if you do

really nice looking!
this however completely screwed up my phone...
I have KF1 Thunderbolt 1.0 from Angelom with Go Launcher.
phone became unresponsive, statusbar disappeared and everything "moved" up about the space of the missing statusbar.
it would be nice if the ring around the batt percentage changed to yellow at 30% and orange at 15%
just a suggestion =)
hi, i have some force close and bootloop if i flash your mod...
i am in Villainrom 1.2 and cf-4.0 kernel
Yeah I'm getting errors along with the guys above.
I'm on TK rom 0.2 and when I flash this circle mod my notifications bar completely disappears, holding power button doesn't show the options (airplane mode, power off etc etc). Phone is on KF1. After a min, the phone just reboots. Don't know what's wrong.
does it work vite litening rom 1.4?
did anybody try to use this with litening rom 1.4?
how do you install it? recovey, install from zip?
Hi everybody.
Just wanted to give a few quick comments.
First of all, I'll try to answer / address your questions and requests Monday. I try to not take neither work nor "work" home to my family, as I've observed that both worlds function better that way
The files I uploaded are for the stock, odexed rom versions. If you flash odexed framework resources over a deodexed Rom, or vice versa, bad things will happen.
As a general rule, I can build for any Rom, as long as I get /app/SystemUI.apk and /framework/framework-res.apk from that Rom.
As for coloring, I'll just point out that the UOT Kitchen has all my icons on file as source, meaning you can customize the colors completely. The kitchen also supports odexed stock Roms.
Cheers

Changelog
1.5 Changelog from ParanoidAndroid
Hybrid speedup, less lag, considerably faster list scrolling when pad/pal is in action
Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower dpis
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you
Pad.prop revamp, new preferences that should pretty much nail it. Im sorry but this trashes your old settings again, do not attempt to restore them unless you do it in a text editor
A warning: if you need to scale keyboards, do close their hosts first (that is, if you have the keyboard running in chrome, close chrome, then attempt to change the size). Otherwise you run into caching problems. Also not that some keyboards use fixed layouts and others dont. Should one of your keyboards not scale, just leave it at PhoneUI/DPI and be happy about those that do scale.

Editing pad.prop in version 1.2 for Hybrid Mode
Use ParanoidAndroid Backup app to back up Current pad to SDCard
Location will be /sdcard/paranoid_backup/
You can either edit on your phone or edit it on computer. Make backup 1st in case you don't like your changes and don't remember what the initial values were
Once changes are saved, Use the Parandroid Backup app to Restore preferences
Note - some values will appear right away, others may need the phone to reboot to close and restart the app
Editing Notes
application name.dpi=rom_phone_base (Sets the default resolution for the application)
application name.mode=1 (Sets default mode for the application)
Keychart
application name - com.android.contacts, ect
dpi - You can simply name the dpi like 240 or add a setting like rom_mid_dpi=160 and just use the name whenever you want to set the app dpi to that.

Looking forward to trying this out! I'm gonna go ahead and try to flash this, but could you put up MD5s of the downloads.
Initial response.. Nice!! Going to dig deep inside and use as I would on any other rom.. I flashed aeroevan's latest CM9 kernel and so far so good.. Going to put it through the paces no doubt!! Only thing I noticed so far was auto-brightness seems to be brighter than other roms but shouldn't be an issue.. I'm sure that can be adjusted.. THANKS!!

Not complaining, just reporting.

so at last we see somebody intrested in theming our device. Good job man and I'm sure it would be wonderful.
Just curious to know what would be needed to make it work on LiteROM ?

Literom uses some slightly different theme assets, for example, it has 1% battery mod, which this theme doesn't currently support because it is built using my stock ICS ROM. I may release a version that is LiteRom compatible before I release the final update of the theme. I think LiteROM only uses a few different assets.
I'm not guaranteeing support for LiteROM right now. But I will look into it further.

I'm so looking forward to this, thanks for putting the time into a theme for i927 !!
I hate the stock dialer
Hope it doesn't take much more to get it going on UCLJ3.
Shouldn't need any changes for the new update...not sure what the update addressed except for keyboard backlight.
Yeah, for LiteROM it could be a bit funky, though we could see themed 15 toggles from VM. That'd be cool, especially the neon green/dark blue like that on the gsiii

Aquethys is correct, it should work fine on UCLJ3. I havent found a way to make clock and day mods work without a deodexed ROM, though. So keep that in mind.
Aquethys, good idea.......

except of themeing can it include a different dailer? maybe one with a record option in it?

I'm sorry, I am not a programmer. I can't write up a new dialer. If you want a good dialer, I can only suggest ExDialer from the market,
good little app. Other than that, no it will simply include a new look for the stock dialer. Sorry.

Also, look for the initial release tomorrow morning.
Released V0.1 today. Feel free to download and try it out. Just note that this is a really simple version.
It will look much better upon completion. Feel free to offer any constructive feedback. I'm listening..
Mirror ready

Modified an updater script so these people don't have to go through the adb Most people don't have SDK.
For my zip, just FLASH with CWMR.
@VM: You should probably put a changelog in OP with Spoiler Tags
EDIT I:
Actually, I'm thinking that the theme will work with any ROM (like LiteROM) other than CM10. Reason being, the SystemUI will just overwrite and since both SystemUI's are based on TW Frameworks it should work. Don't try on CM10 because the Status Bar apks are completely different for CM10 and Stock TW UI. Anyone want to backup and test?

[AROMA] oZoP Mods - System Animations - 8 full w/5 add-ons [v1.1 - July 30]

oZoP Development Projects are on the way!!!
Trust me, when you start playing with oZoP projects you will understand...
It may take me a long time for initial releases and I don't post updates weekly or for that matter even monthly, I build my projects for Final version ready!!
You've already seen my Aroma Boot/Shutdown animation project.
This is the second installment, just another of many sections that will be available in my full oZoP Aroma zip, hence the project Title
ONE ZIP ONE PLACE
System Transition Animations mod
By flashing this zip you will be given a bunch of choices for different system animation style for screen/window transitions, keyboard/toast views and many others. You will get an additional option to tweak a little for unique styles!!
So I give you this, UNIVERSAL for MOST devices Aroma installer to give users the option for different choices!
This zip will work for MOST device running ANY Rom with ANY version Android 5.0+!
How to use the ozop-restore.zip to revert/recovery quickly without the need to restore or reinstall the whole Rom:
And just to be safe, I have included in my scripts and files a method that will create a flashable restore zip of your files before the mods does its thing!
The restore zip will be inside the new "ozop" folder that has been created and the zip is named "ozop-restore.zip"
If something doesn't play nice, just flash the zip and you'll be back to the way it was before you flashed the mod
NOTE: the script will delete any existing restore zips EVERY TIME you flash a new option, meaning that if you flash the mod again, your original system files will be replace with the file you flash previously!
If you want to have a permanent back up of the original file, you will need to rename the zip inside the ozop folder to whatever, just can't have the same name or it gets replaces everything you flash the mod
BUG REPORT:
Code:
MIUI choice causing boot issues for some users (works fine for me), so be prepared to you the restore.zip if needed. Will look into a fix for future releases
Report bug properly to get my support
Of course there are many way to properly report bugs and ALL of these ways have one thing in common, THEY ALL REQUIRE VERY DETAILED NOTES of the issue!
I'm moy goimg to go deep into how detailed you could get because lets face it, most people that report improperly are the ones who don't read and probably are going to read this! HaHaHa...
To get support from me I only ask for some simple things
1. What device, and rom you are running
2. What is the issue (no boot, fc everywhere, fc only certain app etc...)
3. Which option did you select
4. Did you get the install log
5. Did you use the restore.zip option to get back running
6. Do other choices share the same effect
That looks like a lot, but it really is the minimum amout of info need to troubleshoot!
Provide me that and I'll do my best to fix things and make this fun for everyone.
If you post things like
"Doesn't work", "bootloop" or anyone other similar post that have no value and help development is no way, actually these kinds of post only put development behind amd slow progress die the fact that anyone who cam help has to waste their time reading it!
If these kind of post ever come up, its best to ignore the lazy person and not clog the thread with flaming replies as that too slows development!
Anyway, I don't expect there to be many if any bugs! Been tested by myself and confirmed with users of this device!
Now grab the download and enjoy!

I see no reason so assume otherwise. This mod has nothing to do with settings and should not effect anything that is already available.
OP update, WIP, with a few very quick previews as well as a bug report for only some users selecting MIUI style.
Enjoy
Fancy seeing you here @stangdriver44
My s6 edge broke weeks ago and replaced with this.
Excited to give your new stuff a go.

I am also looking at the MIUI animations that some users are having trouble with.
Hopefully a fix and possibly more animation options coming soon...

You need to "uncheck" the zip verification option in TWRP. It show the option right before you swipe to install. You'll see it.
Make sure that is bot checked and you're good

When you flash it inside of TWRP it will present you with options to choose from. The interface it uses to present you these options with is named AROMA, and doesn't require any type of add ons or additional apps/programs, it is part of the zip u download in the OP
As for this thread, I've browsed the G6 forums daily for several months, and I can't believe I'm just now seeing this! Can't wait to try this out, sounds amazing. Thanks!
@stangdriver44: Is there a chance to see this also for the V30 ?
Would be nice.

Well I gave this mod a try, and unfortunately I have to share my honest opinion with you guys.... This mod absolutely kicks ass... But don't take my word for it, download it and try it out, it's borderline amazing for real....!! Try it out you won't regret it

I don't know much about the v30, but with the success this mod has with the various devices and Android versions I see no reason to think it would not work.
The mod does create a flashable backup of the existing framework-res.apk, but I suggest grabbing your current one and placing somewhere on your sd just for safe keeping.
The ONLY requirements are of course root and a custom recovery like TWRP so you can run the Aroma installer
Please report back your results and DO NOT select MIUI! It causes bootloop.
Thanks for your interest!

HA HA! You had me going with that opening sentence!
I'm glad you are enjoying the mod and my work!
Thank you for the kind words!
I have some other projects that I may post in this forum as well... They are having great success in other communities and being that they are universal I see no reaso, they shouldn't be posted here!
Again, thank you for the kind words
Great news, flashed on my V30 (H930) with Nougat 7.12 and it works.
I will test now all apps, it seems that they all will work.
Thanks for this animations.

I know it's a almost dead thread but I need to ask, does this still works in G6 running Android Oreo? I was looking for something like this for a long time.
Can confirm working on g6 o, Eliminator 74 tweaked stock rom.
Very good
Does still work on Pie?
