RGB or only two colors?
Sent from my Desire S using xda premium

As far as I know there's been no details announced about colours

It's really brighter than that photo shows.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium

i think that will be orange and green (charger/notification)

Htc should have used a multicolored light , as cool as the galaxy nexus

Why don't I see this notification light on any videos?

Because there were no notifications?

I hope this notification is light is better than the one on their other devices. The LED on the Desire HD is pathetic. Why can't they make one like RIM devices have? Can anyone who has seen the device comment on this?

Because while it is useful, It looks little ugly... well that's just my personal view..
I really liked Nexus One notification trackball and Galaxy Nexus notification light..
HTC should come out with something creative

if it's green. i am gonna cry.

It is pretty pathetic. very small just showing through a single hole in the speaker grill as the pictures above show.
Yes, it's only Green and amber as per all HTC phones.
I prefer the way they've done it on the V to be honest.

one of the few thing s i hate about htc is the fact that they never implement this..
on a side note.. htc one x has capacitance buttons instead of softkeys in the screen..
what if for future htc releases, the shift the notification light to the middle home key button with muti-led lighting like the galaxy nexus?!! i think if many people like this idea, we should start an online petition to submit to htc to make our thoughts known!

Care to explain capacitance instead of soft?
Resitive screens are the ****ty ones (that effectively have buttons underneath the screen?)

Assume he means having a separate set of capacitive buttons (like the DHD did), rather than having the buttons displayed on screen like the GNex does.

Swapping out the Camera LEDs

Thinking about swapping out the 2 camera leds....
That board comes right out; and the leds appear to just be PLCC2's with a cap on them.
Thinking
Blue,
Obnoxiously overpowered white,
Cyan,
IR,
UV.
Leaning towards IR or UV, any input?
Would anyone like a walk-through for this aswell?
For reference, i am talking about [12]

Kind of a neat idea, although I don't understand the point of going IR or UV? I only ever use the LEDs as a flashlight, so I think some higher powered white replacements might be cool, but that's just me.

I was thinking about that, but theres no easy way to switch between them so the uv and IR would be useless.
I guess I should've specified. The sensor can see IR, but to get the true IR effect, the sensor needs to ONLY see the IR spectrum. Or maybe you could devise some IR filter? Those pics look like a regular sensor capturing IR light, which looks kinda weak and purplish. It's cool though, sounds like a sweet mod and you should go for whatever is most useful to you.

That is probably the only thing I miss from my old Droid 2. I'm thinking that would be more complex than changing the camera LEDs though. Plus, how would the phone know that it has those additional colors to utilize? Maybe an app like "blink" or something..

If your not familiar see below.
Those LEDS are not PLCC2's,
anyone know what package size these are?
they are definitely package 1206 SMD LEDs / Mini PLCC2 / SMT LEDs

A small mod for the Chinese wireless charging kit.

Hey guys, I bought the white wireless charging kit from Alibaba express and it works perfectly however I wasn't too happy about the indicator lights as they were too bright for me and I couldn't sleep at night with those bright LED's..so I went ahead and carried out a small mod. This might be helpful to someone so thought I'd share it here.
I opened up the charger and placed a thick piece of tape on one of the sides right next to the LED's. This side faces my bed so I wanted to make sure all that light bleed was taken care of.

Then I cut out small pieces of black tape and placed them right above the LED's.
Here's how it looks.
I also stuck an NFC sticker on the inside which I've programmed to toggle between silent modes and use before going to bed.
Here's how it looks, a good round LED with no light bleed and NFC functionality as a bonus
Sorry I didn't take any before pictures but those who own this charger will know how it looks and is not very pleasant.
Cheers.

Looks like you have to use light flow, the free version only allows certain features to receive customization. you have to buy the one for additional apps to light up

shame how it's been dropped, surely it didn't contribute to costs that much.

Maybe I am talking b.s here, but isnt white always a combination of RGB? I mean wouldnt it otherwise be either R, G or B according to its wavelength? White is a combination of all those. So it should be a question of implementation. CMIIW

Not necessarily, according to Wikipedia: "the development of the first white LED... employed a Y3Al5O12:Ce, or "YAG", phosphor coating to mix down-converted yellow light with blue to produce light that appears white."
ie, some white LEDs only produce white light when you stick a voltage across them.

Does Lightflow control frequency on the Moto G correctly?
With the absence of color I'd like to make like a Rapid Flash, Slow Flashing, Solid cycling light for like Text messages, missed calls, and emails respectively
The frequency setup with lightflow works. I use a fast frequency for charging and permanently on for fully charged.

[Q] lg g3 text glow

Has anyone with the g3 noticed any issues with text contrast issues where it looks like an old vga monitor that hadnt been auto adjusted? If there is black text on a grey or coloured background it has a white glow, if its white text on a dark background it has a black glow
From what ive read this appears to be due to the sharpness setting used so if anyone knows how to adjust the display sharpness that would be great
This is what Erica Griffin noticed on her phone a F400K I believe do you have the same model?

Looking forward to hearing how you find the phone!
Had a bit of time with the phone now, installing apps (well watching Google auto-install my apps anyway) and there is a bit of glow, but it is no where near as bad as what Raider seems to have, its barely noticeable at all.
The colour contracts will take some getting used to, as it is very different to the nexus 5 that I have been using recently.

Ok. Now I see it. In person must be more visible and annoying.
I hear from a friend that has one that its not too bad except for on LGs menus and home screen. Its like they have added a border around thier text lables to make it "easier" to read.
My friend said it is not there with an aftermarket launcher (nova, ect). So it is an LG text setting and not a screen issue.
**If somone else here with an LGG3 could load nova to verify that would be nice.**

Who else has backlight bleed?

There have been a few reports on Reddit of backlight bleed in demo units. Personally, one of my Raspberry Rose units has the backlight bleed (between the home and app switcher buttons, aka circle and square) and the other does not. I created a form to get an idea if this issue is widespread (like the G2x) or if maybe it's just an early batch problem or it's really not a problem and just a few flawed units. Please contribute to the form either way, the more data the better.

Sorry! It's not noticeable on certain screens, seems like solid white/light gray is most prone to showing it. My G2x didn't have much bleed, but that had a whole class action lawsuit against it.

Light bleed is a complaint on a lot of devices even tv's.
I as well have the light bleed in that same exact spot. Yours looks a lot worse than mine though. To be honest, I think it's mainly an LG thing to have something slightly wrong with their displays. I've had their v10 and every flagship after that besides the v30 and they always had that slight light bleed issue

Yeah, but at least the V10/20 had a secondary backlight with a weird screen design to blame it on. I'd actually understand it more if the bleed on this one was around the notch, the bottom doesn't make much sense.

I think it does since the bottom is where all the ports are.
There's a tiny amount of backlight bleed on mine. Right at the bottom of the screen, just like in your picture. Just not nearly as bad. In fact, I didn't notice it until I went looking for it. Picked up a gray one from T-Mobile yesterday.

I had a small mark at the exact same spot as the OP so I will be exchanging mine at Tmobile when they open in 2 hours.
In my experience, bleeding does spread over time. I am on Jump on Demand and will probably only keep this for less than 6 months but still, now that I have noticed the spot, it will drive me nuts.
Yep, new one is flawless
why is that more with the gray one ?
Well, thanks for that. Just realized I have one in the exact same spot, too. I don't think it will drive me nuts, but now I know it's there.
im on HK/SG set. my screen is perfect.. no such issue
I have the light bleed as well, I bought mine off craigslist and now I can't even walk into a store to exchange. So looks like I'm screwed and can't even exchange. And I don't know if LG will do anything if I contact them. They rejected my LG promise registration for 2nd year warranty since I didn't buy directly from an authorized retailer.
