Is it worth going from a HTC Evo 3D / HTC Sensation (XE) to HTC One X - HTC One X

I bought not long ago an HTC Evo 3D, but there was something that saddens me about the HTC Evo 3D I received, it was about an tiny dust part which most people can't see but I can.( I asked family and friends to try find it and I even pointed it for them but they didn't really see it good ).
So mine HTC Evo 3D is for sale now and I'm thinking should I upgrade to HTC One X as it will be released soon.
First I considered just buying an new HTC Evo 3D after selling the one I got now, yes sounds strange, but I don't wanna wait on warranty and to hear then that one tiny dust part is allowed and I read enough about other HTC Evo 3D's having this problem. But I still like the HTC Evo 3D, but if I sold it then I should choose get an new HTC Evo 3D or go for the HTC One X.
So I will get about € 290 probably back for mine HTC Evo 3D, with that I almost don't make any loss. The HTC One X however is about € 270 more expensive, so that's quite some difference in price and that is the part where I doubt most, as the HTC Evo 3D is fine for me, I just had bad luck the one I got now, but I worry that other ones have it to, but I don't know if the dust part has always been there or it got inside after purchase.
The cheapest price right now is € 557. But as far as I read its an really good phone. Another reason I consider it now is because if I sold mine HTC Evo 3D then I got that money again and its released very soon.
For owners off HTC Sensation (XE) feel free to discuss here to about upgrading from HTC Sensation (XE) to HTC One X.
Of course HTC Evo 3D is still good alternative for the HTC One S, as it got the same screen size and resolution. One thing is very clear with HTC Evo 3D, its not expensive any more on the moment and kinda best bang for bucks on the moment, so selling it would not lose you as much as you will lose when you will sell an HTC One x, because HTC One X cost the double amount.

Man, it is always worth upgrading to this device
No really, the normal freaks do this and the better hardware is it worth for sure.
Try to sell/give it to a friend/family member if you can't sell it for much money.

If the deal goes alright then on Tuesday or Wednesday I get € 295 for mine HTC Evo 3D. The buyer said he really wanted it.
You are from Germany, what is the price in germany? Some electronics are cheaper in Germany? Like the HTC Evo 3D, that is why I can sell it now for about same as I bought it, I just feel selling you phone is not so easy.
So I can call myself happy that I find one buyer, now just need wait on the money. But I still think HTC One X is a little expensive, but not more expensive as the HTC Desire HD was kinda.
But I have no idea what price will do. A new HTC Evo 3D would be € 269 in the MediaMarkt germany, that's one thing I'm also considering after selling the one I got now, as I kinda still feel the HTC One X is kinda expensive, I ofcourse need to do mine math ha.
Can I add another € 270, it would be an investment for the up coming years, I don't think from HTC One X need to go after two years to another phone, as the HTC One X is an powerful beast, but the HTC Evo 3D is also a very good phone, but HTC One X is much better of course.

upgrade from Sensation (any) to One X - yes
upgrade to One XL - i don't see the point

I'm staying with mine HTC Evo 3D. The HTC One X is just to expensive for me and HTC Evo 3D is fine for me.

That was a worthwhile thread

Could be interesting for others I think. I find such decisions very hard and it got mostly to with money.
The thing I see people in my country are doing is just taking an new contract, but I don't want that.

HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire

Does HTC Desire has all the new functions on HTC Wildfire like HTC Caller ID that shows the caller’s Facebook status and a birthday reminder? app recommendation? flash support? etc..
I think so. The Wildfire is basically a similar and more affordable version of the Desire, but with lower specs and smaller screen.
As of now the desire doesn't have the new "features" yet, I guess we'll see them when HTC ships sense for froyo.
Wildfire is the baby version of the Desire that I was going to buy my girlfriend.
So whenever she forgets who's boss, we compare benchmarks

LOL that made me laugh! isnt the wildfire a little cheaper? you might as well go for the desire for longer life and easier to support but after saying that i was thinking about doing the same thing, then thought desire and then my brother mentioned apple!

Well, the Widfire is essentially the "Student" version, it's meant to bring all the power of Social Networking etc that the others bring in a more affordable design.
I was having a nice chat with a couple of lovely young ladies doing a promotion in a local store yesterday after I finished explaining the specs of their phones to them, and how I love to f*** with their firmwares.
Does anyone know the approx. price-tag for the Wildefire? I'm thinking of buying one for my gf.
About 300€

Should i buy a Desire?

Should i buy the Desire? It's pretty cheap, i haven't got much money, and i need a decent phone? I currently have a LG Optimus One, but i need something a bit more exquisite. Will i notice any performance difference? Oh and i was thinking of a Nexus One as well, but i've been comparing these two and the Desire seems to win!
It may be 2 years old but it has a great fanbase with a great selection of custom roms. I am due for renewal in April but I seriously cannot see anything that justifies me to commiting myself to another 18 month contract just yet, that's how good this phone is. It really is holding its own even now and I would without hesitation say go for it. If you get one second hand then just check the hardware buttons to make sure they work (my volume down button is starting to need a hard press to work) and if you get an unrooted one then you have got all the rooting stuff to enjoy as well I would get this over the Nexus One, in fact I spent a week putting phone against phone and eliminating them one by one when I first got my Desire. A cracking phone even now.

Wow, thanks, i am definitely getting the desire, i am already used to rooting and flashing so it's no biggie, thanks a bunch for the complete answer, you totally made me change my mind about buying a Nexus One which is actually more expensive in 2nd hand here.
Regards!
No worries I must confess to be so anal about which phone to get that my missus ended up yelling 'just buy a phone for Gods sake!!!' Anyway here's a link for a good review of 3 phones at the time, side by side. Glad to help ya

He seems to favour the HTC Legend a bit more. Is it any better than the Desire? The con of the Legend is not a con now, i think i could get it for the same price as the Desire.
Thanks for the helpful review haha!
EDIT*
Nevermind, the screen is way smaller, i'm going with the Desire, since i want a bigger screen.
I just bought a Desire for similar reasons, I had come from a ZTE Blade. It is a great phone and I am very happy with it.
You can compare phone specs at www.gsmarena.com so thats worth a go.
Simon
desire for sure
if you cant spend the money to buy desire s or desire hd, then its htc desire for sure
and htc legend doesnt even come close to htc desire
and with the great devs at xda, you'll always have something to do with your desire

Is it worth upgrading?

Hey One X community, I wish to ask you if it's still worth upgrading from Sensation XE to One X these days? Or maybe is it better to wait untill HTC One drops of it's price?
Both are good phones, but if you're looking to buy, go for the One instead.

Flog your sensation on eBay, throw in a few more beans and buy a used one x. It will make you very happy till the price of a new One drops. I came from sensation to one x and still very happy with it. Just be aware you can't soff it unless you buy one that has it from factory. It just means your tied to flashing roms from your pc otherwise its no bother.

I wanted to switch from Sensation XE to either One X or One next month or if prices will be still too high on november, december. I really like features that One brings in to mobile market ( Boomsound, Snapdragon 600 etc.) but I don't really want to spend my entire money on mobile device. One X is cool but I'm afraid of HTC dropping it's support as I get it (the same thing that happend to me as I got my Sensation). If I want to buy a phone then I require it to last for some time.

Well the HTC phones are very good ,BUT they really lack support from HTC ( software department ), especially when it comes to upgrading to newer versions of android ,and i really don't understand why HTC does not upgrade their phones especially older models. They really dont know what they are doing. SAMSUNG IS MUCH BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO SOFTWARE UPGRADE. In my opinion buy an GS4

[Q] Help required in upgrading from HTC One X. (M8?) or (M9?)

Hi guys. I have been an ardent HTC supporter from the day I got my HTC One X way back in August 2012. Even though the phone still is swift and runs awesomely well for my needs, it's camera has taken a toll (front and back both). I have been waiting for the release of this year's M9 (Hima) and I'm almost at the point on buying it once it hits the stores in my country (India). But I have been comparing the M9 with M8 and I'm having a tingling doubt. M8 is about 60% of the expected price of M9 in my country.
So here is my question. Should I go for M8 or M9 or wait for M9+ to hit the stores? The feasibility of M9+ coming to my country is pretty low.
One constraint I have is that whatever phone I go for, I'll be using it for at least 5-6 years and my primary mobile. (Yes, I maintain my phones in a pristine condition. HTC One X of mine doesn't look more than a couple of months old still. :good
P.S. I have a $150-$175 sale price for my HTC One X in the markets here, the money which I can use to buy my new phone.

I absolutely loved the M7. The camera I had had no purple tint problem, and it was fast and a good size. The M8 was also brilliant. The M9 has let me down. It doesn't perform quite as well as the M8, with lag here and there and low performance in games. Also the camera is a let down.
I'd get more opinions rather than just mine though as i'm feeling really bitter and jaded right now lol.

Wait until HTC has released some more software updates and ask again. The M8 wasn't as good at its release as it is now thanks to some major updates. The performance of the M9 will increase in the coming months due to some software tweaks that HTC probably will release. I switched to M9 from an M7 and I think it is better in some ways but not as much as I'd hoped.
