[TIP][APP] Lockscreen Agenda, awesome reminder. - Desire General

I found this app the other day and paid for it in five minutes. If you, like me, have goldfishlike memory, this is the app for you.
It replaces your lockscreen with a scrollable agenda (very sober in design) and a clock, which acts as slider to unlock you phone. It's somewhat customizable.
It can take some fiddling to get it to work right, but now it works for me.
I love it. Now I see my reminders every time I open my phone.
It's called "lockscreen agenda". I don't know how to make a link. Search in market.
Thank you, Kevin, for a sweet app.

A tip for cm based users:
Disable system lockscreen in cm settings/tablet tweaks.
This will nullify interference with lockscreen agenda effectively.

I just loaded this app. Works great with one exception, it does not have the ability to code lock my lockscreen. Ill be contacting the developer to see if he/she can add this.

[Q] Install HTC Sense apps on CM6?

I tried out CM6 today, and there are some things I absolutely LOVE about it. It's VERY responsive, more so than any other ROM I've tried. I love the launcher and the transparency to the wallpaper when you're scrolling though your apps. And I love the 3d gallery.
There are some dealbreakers for me though.... I don't like:
1- The camera app, I much prefer the HTC once.
2- The contacts list, I loved he way the stock one synced w/facebook updates and user pictures.
3- The calendar, which again synced with dates from facebook (birthdays, events, etc).
Are there apks that I can download to replace the ones in cm6 with? Or will I have to use a Sense ROM to get those?
No. It won't happen. If you want Sense, go to Sense. Otherwise, just look for alternative apps on the Market.
short answer, no
long answer;
sense widgets only work with the sense launcher. download official facebook app to sync with cyanogenmod or syncmypix. for the calendar, use ebobirthday to grab facebook birth days then sync to gmail and in gmail under calendar on the left at the bottom click "other calendars" then add "browse interesting calendars", then more tab, then subscribe to "Contacts' birthdays and events" as for the camera, someone made progress getting it working on the n1 but have not seen anyone trying to get it working on evo. right now, it is still a bit ugly and some things do not work, but they will soon enough. when cyanogen and the rest of the team are done, you will be able to do way more with their camera than you every could with the stock on. infact you already can with a large assortment of codecs and fine tuning options. hope this helped
You could try LauncherPro Plus. It won't give you a camera app, but it has an ever-increasing assortment of Sense-like widgets.
@DomSim: Thanks for the long answer =] I though from reading another thread that CM6 didn't link the contacts w/facebook, but you're telling me otherwise, so I will give that a try (I'm flashing CM6 again as I post). Honestly, the larger font on the contact list still bothers me, I wish it were smaller =[ And thanks for the info on getting the calendar sync, I don't think I EVER would have figured that out, hahaha!
@Noxious Ninja: Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a whirl once I'm flashed back on CM6. =]
One more thing I missed: The stock Sense clock/w weather! I love that clock =[ But I actually like the clock from CM6's lock screen better. Is there a widget for that?

[Q] Variable length reminder snooze?

Is there any way to have another screen popup when you hit snooze for a reminder, and ask how long you would like to snooze for? I've really missed this feature since winmo, and recently missed an appointment because of my absent mindedness.
Thanks,
Dave
Yep, one feature of WinMo I liked.
not sure if this will help ya or not, but I use a free app from the market called alarm clock plus. when the snooze pop up "pops up", you can then set how many minutes you want. love it. sorry if this wasn't helpful in any way.
dschoenike
Calendar snooze from market kicks butt, free version works great and has multiple configureable snooze's i actually paid the 5 bucks for the ad free version I liked it so much.

[Q] I'm going to be switching from an iphone....Will the nexus/android do this...

Hey guys,
I have finally decided to make the switch to Android with this phone, however I do have a question I was hoping to answer before I switch...
One of the features I missed on my Iphone was being able to turn on my phone and have the homescreen display my outlook calendar and to do list(windows phone). I have tried doing some research and some hands on the Verizon store so I know about widgets...although the ones on the droidx I played with were very small.
So my question is...can I set my homescreen to give me half the screen worth of outlook events/tasks and then move everything else to other pages? Sorry if this is a repeat/stupid question but I appreciate the help!
The calendar app has a widget which will show your calendar apps, you can sync to outlook via various means including exchange activesync for your e-mail.
You also can download a app like Jorte it has several different widgets sizes like. 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 of the screen size.
I use Launcher Pro Plus. Great widgets (calendar, agenda, facebook, tweeter, etc). I hope app will get updated for ICS
Also the CalenGoo app has tonnes of different size widgets for all your needs!

this looks like it will work great!
soon as I switch there will be no more excuses why I forgot to do something!
you can also install widget locker and display all of this on your lock screen (the initial screen you see when you turn the screen on)
Haha as you see there are many ways to do things on Android. +1 for Possibility.
you can do almost anything on android. super customizable! That's the beauty of Android.
Jorte can do this
There is also an app called Pure that is a highly customizable widget for your ToDo app of choice and Calendar, and looks much better IMHO. Jorte is the best calendar I've seen and that's what I use as an app, but with Pure you can skin the widget (I like highly transparent) and set all sorts of options so it looks perfect on the home screen...
So yes, the beauty of Android is you have TONS of options to do what you are looking for... Granted I haven't used an iPhone before, but I venture to guess you'll have many more options than you have now.

Cool feature for your stock N4 rom without root or unlocked BL - it really is useful.

So I'm using stock rom, unrooted and BL locked and wanted some way to have more control on my lockscreen without BL unlock, root or custom rom.
Wanted to put weather, SMS unread, calls missed etc....
Well enter UCCW (all credits here go to 'vineetksirohi', his app thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386987)
Here's what you need to do:
1. Activate lockscreen (have it set to slide or PIN etc.. otherwise you obviously do not get the lockscreen and go straight into your homescreen).
2. swipe right so you can see a '+' sign where you can add new pages.
3. press '+' and a list of possible additions will show up, one of them being your UCCW.
4. Select size of UCCW and then the skin you want to apply, and voila you now have a new page (which you can make the default lockscreen page) with anything that is possible with UCCW including working hotspots.-obviously you need to have some UCCW skins to choose from which you would have prepared earlier.
This means you can create a UCCW skins with anything you want and that includes hotspots and it will now be your default lockscreen.
No more need for apps/utilities or custom roms to enable different widgets on the lockscreen since UCCW can do it all for you and with total control on icon to display, hotspot to assign etc... , it will even refresh your weather just as if it was a UCCW skin on your homescreen.....cool !
Have a play and lets see what imaginative use we can make of it.
Attached is a screenshot of my current lockscreen (on stock rom) using the above feature. The 3 icons (calls, sms and gmail) all have hotspots to take me directly into the relevant apps, pressing on the clock launches the alarm directly.. no more need for any shortcut widgets !!
You can press the 'thanks' button if you like the suggestion. Also, apologies if this has been discussed previously but i'm a frequest user on xda and haven't seen it mentioned for the N4 before.
As far as I can see this pretty much kills every app i've come across that is intended to cusomtize the lockscreen, with the added bonus that all android security (like locksreen PINS) are intact and work perfectly.
Cool, its also great for home screens.
Here's my uccw lock screen.
Sent from my stock Nexus 4
Cool! Thanks for heads up
