Stock shipped rom gs2 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey everyone, I'm honestly getting confused looking at all the roms and I'm not entirely sure I'm looking at the right thing - Essentially, since the ICS ****up I want to go back to gingerbread when my phone worked. I get 6 hours battery life, on standby, never touching my phone, all radios off. ZERO reception no matter where I go. *****ing aside, I've rooted my GS years ago and havent needed to root the gs2 so I'm a little rusty, Just a simple link to the shipped/stock rom would be appreciated, as I said before I get too confused with all the titles.
Thank yoyu

If it lasts only that few hours then there is definitely something wrong. Try factory reset/wipe. For rooting ICS use method 1 from guide in my signature. For GB ROM check sammobile.com

I have no idea why you keep ignoring me.
I said in your other two threads (here and here) - YOU'RE IN THE WRONG FORUM.
This is the forum for the GT-I9100 model of the Galaxy SII. This phone doesn't even work on Sprint's network.
You have the Sprint variant of the Galaxy SII. It is also called the Epic 4G Touch. That device's forum is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1281.
I can't make this any more clear. This should not be confusing.
You're confusing yourself; getting confused looking at all the ROMs in the wrong device forum. Stop that. Go to the correct forum for your device.
Also, STOP POSTING the same issue over and over. As I noted above, this is the third thread you've started to complain about ICS on your device. (which still isn't an I9100)

LMAO
the SGS2 fori have become pickled with and by the totally bewildered...

Well, sorry. I've been doing way too much in the past week and the phone not working has made things a little difficult. Didn't mean to ignore, I think I had a post typed out and closed the tab on accident. Will do as you advised shortly.
Thank you

Moved to Epic 4G Touch Q&A, locked other 2 threads.

Well, since your in the right spot, go here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20656098
And please read the thread of that post..
Good luck to you..

[Q] Rooting my HTC EVO 4G was cool at first, but its not for me...

I thought rooting my HTC EVO 4G would be the coolest thing to do, which it was at first but im having a lot of problems with my phone now. Like, i hate that i dont have service anywhere, my wifi doesnt work, wen i was in ATL and able to get 4G coverage, i only had 2 freakin bars.. So, with that being said, i need for someone to kindly instruct me step by step how to unroot my phone and get it BACK to normal. this crap is killing me.
I'm pretty sure it was user error. What roms were you running? And by the way this thread should be in General or Q&A.
The unrooting procedure is in this forum. But before you do that let me reinsure you that rooting isn't the reason for your malfunctions. I'm sure its just a coincidence.. different roms, kernels, and mods actually help resolve issues and make your phone better.
But do a lil searching in this forum for the unrooting. But I hope you reconsider

I'm sure it's your setup... Hell, my Evo wouldn't make it through security at the airport. Some sort of weapon if you ask me.

Well, since its our responsibility to help anyone who gets in over their head here is the ruu to unroot your phone and make it "iphoney" again. Run the ruu labeled stock 3.70 and your will be the subordinate to your phone again
It will look like this; RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.exe

Or take the blue pill, read up on some stuff and join us in the ways of doing whatever the hell we want with the stuff you bought. Because I promising rooting didn't mess up your phone.
wow give him a break, if he got his phone rooted in the first place he can't be extremely helpless. Viper, yea he posted in the wrong section(mods can move why whine about it?) I can clearly tell he is asking how to unroot his phone and go back to stock.
With that being said, read through this thread

If that's the case op, please consider this Rom before unrooting. Always good to me. 3.70 version for best results.

I would try the latest Cyanogen 7 if I were you...my phone has never ran better and its still not a final release ROM. If you're first attempt was the Incredible port you really need to take a step back and try something that is not in initial stages.

how to unroot your evo ---
honestly rooting is the best thing that happened to my evo --
here you go.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780141 -- thats the unroot thread
--- still dont get what all the flaming is all about.. suxx that he failed to put this thread in the right section.. i messed up once..
but none the less i also got stuck in a bootloop day 1 of owning my device.. i blamed fresh -- i later learned it was user error..
im sorta TARDED lol -- but learning is the battle that won me over.. the flaming just makes the situation worse
cmon now havent we all hopefully even thought if not already posted " which rom is best"
i know i asked all my friends and i got just try em and shut up i said thank goodness for friends or i would be pissed .. lol
none the less.. maybe its too much for him suxx that the person wont get to experience what we all enjoy about this.. but people
change their minds daily who knows he might even thing ahhh wth lemme keep trying stuff..
not that im his lawyer but flaming suxx.. thats all
OP! i posted in your first thread when you were crying about not being able to figure out STEP BY STEP instructions for flashing... that was like 2 days ago! i really dont know what to say... but READ READ READ the forums.... i have a nokia 5100 series phone i will give you for free, i think that phone will be better suited for you.
EDIT: if you are wondering how in the world this person got rooted, read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006914 its a play by play of how he managed it...
if you checked this thread expecting laughter and need some.. read that thread..
Dude flash a ROM that lists everything as working in the OP. Sprint Lovers or Stock Turbo or Fresh or one of many others.
If you need to unroot, download the unrevoked s-on zip and flash it. Then stock 3.70 PC36IMG.zip file and put it on the root of your sd card. Power on the phone while holding down the Volume Down button and follow the steps on your phone to flash the update.
But honestly you don't need to unroot, you need to READ. A lot. You will be fine if you just read even the stickies in each of the forums.

Is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch the Sprint Galaxy S II?

I am hoping someone will be able to help me with this. I just got a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II and I do not see it on XDS anywhere. Is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch the Sprint Galaxy S II? The only S II phone I see on XDA is the Samsung Galaxy S II 19122 and it does not look like my phone in the picture. Even in the countless videos I have watched its not my phone. In fact I do not even think that the 19122 is not a Sprint phone. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch looks like my phone and its for Sprint. Which should I be using? What should I do??
Yes, sprint just just ditched the old branding. Only flash and root and do other stuff that says Epic Touch 4G, ET4G, or sprint galaxy s II

Thanks for your reply!! I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S 2 from Sprint. I am not a pro when it comes to rooting phones but I come from a EVO that I had rooted and flashed many roms. However my Galaxy S 2 has me stumped! I rooted it and it has not worked the way it should. I cant get my GPS to work on any ROM I have flashed. I have been through the forums, Google and anything else I could think of. I Have tried every app or fix idea I could find and still nothing. I am now at the point where I would like to unroot my phone and start over. I feel as if maybe I have done something wrong. However I cant find a video or directions how to unroot my phone back to stock and then to root it again. I know my phone came with ICS and all the videos or directions I find are from 2.3. What should I do?
Look up QBking 77 in the forum and that will lead you to You tube, he has the scoop on the Epic touch now the Samsung Gal.S 2.
Watch his stuff and decide which way you want to go.
Sfhubs one click root is the simplest method, QBking covers it.

Stop flashing and do A LOT of reading before you hard brick. This phone is nothing like the evo, recovery changes with every kernel, rom manager does not work, there is a super brick bug that will completely kill this phone with no way to fix. You need to slow down and research before you do anything else.

You don't have to fear change...leave that to my dad! lol. Anyway, QBKing77 has been an amazing resource, lots of great YouTube stuff, start slow and careful and you won't brick it. Leave the EVO to collect dust.
Its not hard once you get an understanding of what's what. There are alot of variants of the gs2 and quite a few ppl have flashed stuff meant for other versions which will kill usb-pc connection. And there are safe and unsafe kernel/recoveries to use, unsafe kernel and a factory reset in recovery will trigger the brick bug and you get the blue light of death(dead phone) Read the stickies in the sub forums of this section, search info for epic 4g touch as that's what this phone is(was) called and what all the info is listed under in forums. Just slow down and take some time to inform yourself before you do something and want to kick your own ass for rushing. I'm not new to rooting and Modding, and I read for 3 days before I even thought about rooting when I came from my og evo. Patience is key when doing things to your phone that don't come out of the box. Think of it like a car, you wouldn't strap a supercharger on it and then go race down a strip without doing some research first, right? Once you get a little education on the device under your belt you'll be flashing like you were on the evo, its just a different process with a learning curve. That's the way it is when changing devices, all firmware, even tho android based, is slightly different with its own quirks you'll need to understand.

I just back tracked all my steps and found that I did follow QBKing77 directions for root and recovery using odem. I downloaded and flashed the roms from XDA. As of now I do not see that I did anything wrong. I will try to give this phone another try, if I cant unroot or get it to work then it will just be a paper weight. Thanks for your help and advice.

Thanks for the advice, I will do more reading and see what I can find. However at this point I am positive that I have followed all the correct steps. This is why this is driving me crazy. I just dont know what I will do if I cant get this phone to work. Thanks again.
Trust me, I know everyone is saying read, and read some more, but that's really all you have to do. Just go over to the General side, and read the first 3 pin-ups. That helped me a lot, and all the wonderful people on these forums, and also qbking77. I rooted my friends htc device, and I must say, rooting and flashing on this device is A LOT easier! Hope you don't brick, and good luck!
I don't understand why people are answering your question the way they have so far. From what I understand, all you wanted to know was what the deal was with this phone and is it a S2 or not.
Here's what you need to know.
This the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. It is the same specs as the other Samsung Galaxy SII, but it has it's own custom board and firmware because it's CDMA and Sprint. Why couldn't Sprint users just get a CDMA version of the regular Galaxy SII all of Europe uses? Because, it's from the U.S., and in the U.S. big companies try to make life as hard as possible for their customers while treating them like cattle. So in short, the Epic Touch is close to the same thing as a Galaxy S2, but it isn't compatible with normal S2 software or development.
The model name of the Epic Touch 4G is SPH-D710. As long as you refer to the phone as the SPH-D710 there should never be any confusion.
What do you want to do with your phone?
If you want to root it, you'll need to know what build you are running. Are you on EL26, FF18, or FH13?
If you want to flash it to a custom rom, which one? There are several good ones, most notably CM9 which reached Beta status earlier this month.
Do you want to install recovery?
well Epic touch is S2 for sprint and its called Samsung sprint epic 4g touch , better than the other s2s out there , bigger better screen and stuff
about rooting
i was in the same boat mate
u can say still am
came from VZN fascinate - the best brick proof phone i have ever used , lol flashed it with my eyes closed like 50 times a day ;P
anyways S2 is tricky : sincere suggestion
Reda a bit before touching
and never flash anything just for the heck of it , make sure if what you are going to do is in fact right ? ask around and dont give into the temptation of flashing just like that , again its a SINCERE SUGGESTION.
as far as basic rooting and flashing is concerned
first use the oneclick odin stock rooted ROMS, use them see what you really need if u are on GB or ICS
then look for the particular ROM with them features
will add more for you

[Q] Can someone help, this is just not making sense?

Ok i have a Bell Samsung Galaxy S2 model number gt-I9100m, currently i have updated through kies to 4.0.3.
Baseband: I9199MUGLD3
Kernal Version: [email protected] #3
Build number: IML74K.UGLD3
Now, the problem i am having is plain and simple, Bell ICS BLOWS! The phone runs like complete crap. Now my other problem is also pretty plain and simple, i dont understand or have not found how to root the bloody thing. I dont have a micro sd card, and even if i did i dont no what version of anything to use. I have used search i have used google and either its just not clicking for me in my brain or i have not found the information i need. I want to root the phone and load a custom rom onto it.I found one site but it had a giant warning stating the roms listed where only for the verizon version of the phone. Anyways im just really frustrated and a noob to android and samsung and throw my self upon the mercy of the android gods and hope that someone out there(who is not annoyed by me asking) can help me out. Thanks in advance.
And crap, i put this in the wrong section. Im sorry.
No one is going to get mad for asking a question. But they might get mad if you ask the question in the completely wrong forum. This is the GS3 forum, not the GS2 forum.
Best advice I can give you is to start with the right forum. Read the stickies, and you should be fine.
Personally I also own a Bell GS2 and ICS sucks. Battery life is brutal, phone constantly locks up etc etc. But its a work phone so I'm unable to root it, and install a different rom. I just live with it considering I use my GS3 more lol

[Q] Hard Brick Sprint GS3

Okay, I have seen many post on hard brick and also seen the many suggestions. Tried all but it seems that I just have to bite the bullet and turn it in to either Sprint or Samsung. I loaded a international rootbox mod and hard bricked my phone. It recognize by my pc by the usb connection and assigning a com port. It dose not load the flash drives though. Odin dose not recognize the usb connection. I tried qubking777 methods(which seem to be used for only soft bricking), tried to put it every mode possible, and even removed the sd/battery then connect to usb. It gets a red led light for about a couple minutes but nothing in trying to flash via Odin. If anyone has anything new that I can try without jig/Jtag would be helpful. I have been claim to be a noobie at this from friend at work and know that the pc world is different from the smartphone world but some of the concepts are the same. That if you think the same way as I do. So please no crazy remarks that is any demeaning ways. I do have some experience with root and mods when I did this HTC EVO original.
Thanks
Its done the only way to fix is JTAG if you don't want to go through Samsung or sprint which would be insurance fraud anyway

I've seen people report that they work. Never tried it myself, but thats just my 2 cents
@OP............have you read the numerous stickies, questions, threads, posts about what to flash and what not to flash? kennyglass123 and numerous others have made sticky threads about how to get started, what to do and not do after you root
Cmon dude, even though they may have the same name doesnt mean that software-wise theyre the same
I have an EVO 4G and an EVO shift 4G, but i dont go flashing roms between the two just because theyre similar
When you're doing this kind of system level, you need to know what you're getting yourself into, in the end you couldve just asked in the thread if it works for the sprint s3 or <insert carrier here> s3, and you wouldve gotten a "no"

The mentioning of me doing things to the EVO and talking about the same thing was saying that I am reading and not jumping into stuff i do not know about when working with the S3. Yes they have different ways of rooting and flashing what not but the technology and concepts are the same. The only thing have jumped into over my head was that I grabbed the international load of rootbox mod because there was no clear indication what mod was what from their website. Once I loaded that and reboot, now I am a bricked. I am just trying to see if there anything that I haven't tried yet. It seems that I have indications that the phone has not gone to far and I can do something. Maybe something that works the with bootloader to get it to a point to clear and flash a restore..
The technology is not the same either
The international version is GSM while the sprint variant is cdma, the international version is quadcore while the sprint one is not
Software wise, the partitions line up, but incorrectly
The boot partition on the sprint variant lines up with the misc partition on the international, and a couple other partitions line up incorrectly as well

Phones completely done dude. You can't do anything to recover it without getting it jtagged. You have no boot loader the partition for the kernel on the international S3 is the partition where our boot loader is stored so when you flashed that international rom it wiped your boot loader and wiped other important partitions

Thank you for pointing this out. The OP also gets defensive when it's pointed out. He uses all the wrong stuff but when he breaks it he finds the right section to seek help. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
he claims he is reading and not jumping into things, I guess he skipped over the word INTERNATIONAL as opposed to the one on this section SPRINT.
OP and as you wrote "please no crazy remarks" this and the others are not crazy it's just amazing how you did not find the right section to begin with but had no problem finding it now that you messed it up?

So you guys want defensively. You getting it. Believe it or not, technology is blending together. I have background in IT field to see the history of it all for almost the last 20 yrs. Yes different manfactor and carriers define these phones but that is the only thing that seperate these from computer is the phone portion. Yes I have been following this fourm for a while which lead me to the rootbox mod page in the first place and known where to paste certain threads. I don't even know why I thought there was some very intelligent people on here that are nothing but very disrespecting when someone is looking for just the slightest information. If any one wants a extra check by there chuck wagon meter, please point me in the right direction. Can't believe that I posted any thing here after seeing this stuff in other post. THANKS EVERYONE!
Johnboy you have to understand we get three or four of these every week from people who do not read and just flash away. They find a rom on the international thread and flash it. Voilà 600 dollar paperweight. Then they do fraud and claim hey don't know why their device doesn't work. Who pays all of us with the continued rise in cost on our device.
It's funny though how every single one of them find their way to the right place and forum when they mess-up their phone. Amazingly!
This is the best place and forum to find the right information about your device. Swallow up a little pride own up to that you made a bone head move, and move on and stick around. You will find lots of support.

Like my mamma always said. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothin! For some reason, i hear it in a southern accent. Even though I'm from upstate NY. These posts will never end. And insurance fraud claims will never end. Either way, the cost of our phones will rise.

Thanks edfunkycold, I do understand that this get a little redundant. This is not going to get me to swallow on a bone head move. It is determination to find a solution and help find a end this repeated cycle for everyone. Seeing other threads the phone dose respond to get a port assignment and is requesting for a driver install. So that is some of good sign. Everyone keep your eyes and ears open and I will be back with something. lol
Kudos to you Johnboy for powering on to find a solution. Good luck to you.

I'm going to save some time and update your status for you. As you'd see this imformation if you searched...
The drivers its requesting is the "QHSUSB_DLOAD" driver. Its basically a piece of hardware waiting for firmware to be loaded at a factory level. You will not talk to it with any software you currently own, hence the jtag requirement. Spent months hoping to do the same. You won't I promise. If I'm not mistaken even Samsung doesn't fix it in the state its in. I believe they send it to qualcomm, could be mistaken there tho so don't quote me on that. And props to edfunkycold for telling it like it is. Needs to be said and youll probably recieve an infraction now for not holding his hand and telling him it will be okay. Telling people the truth tends to get you in trouble on here.
I know that I am going to get plenty of flack for this but after a week in working this issue. I had given up and turn it in for new. Even after building a jig that did not do anything at all. I know the jig works because it sent the new phone into download mode immediately but it did not reset the flash counter. Sorry for not finding a fix or even had to turn my phone in. In my field it takes breaking something to make sure you never do it again. So now I know not do flash anything for the GS3 I9300 for the the Sprint model.

Man, you are wasting your time, get the damn thing JTAG, period. If you are looking for a free fix, it AIN'T happening....the international rom hard bricked...period.
BTW, being an IT guy, you should have known to read before applying....you are more knowledgeable than some of the noobs. And by your negative responses, it is for sure a tech reply!

IF ANYONE EVER GETS THIS IN DEVICE MANAGER......"QHSUSB_DLOAD"...it is hosed. Pay the 60.00 and get it over with.
And NO a jiig will NOT work!

New to Sprint & L900. What's the 411?

Okay, so I've been on Tmobile since taking the dive into the wonderful world of Android. I had the S2 for a few months and thdn after becoming infatuated I went out and got me an S3. Recently I decided to move on to Sprint as the coverage I received at work was, well, nonexistent. So, I am completely new to CDMA and my beautiful new Note 2, and after reading through the forums I've discovered that I am bout back to square one. Well, maybe not entirely, but definitely been knocked back quite a bit. Which when considering I've only been involved in the xda community for about 9 months pretty much leaves me with the feeling that I'm stuck in Paris with no map and no translator. So, I was hoping I could reach out to the wise and informed members of xda and ask a broad, but simple, question. What do I need to know so I don't F up my new mistress? I'm not asking for a tutorial on rooting or flashing, nothing generic. Just some helpful specifics. I saw somewhere that they were talking about resetting Wallet before flashing a new ROM or else it may be blocked on the phone, I guess, forever. I'm also unfamiliar with the modems and the updates yall have gotten. Etc, etc. And as I said, not looking for another, what is the benefit of rooting, what is CWM and TWRP, can I get rid of all the darned Sprint apps baloney. I was just hoping to basically just kinda do a crash course intro, a CDMA and/or L900 101 kinda thing so to speak. Any info you can offer up would be greatly appreciated!

The worst part about the android community, unfortunately, is the fragmentation of general knowledge. The rooting process for a Nexus is probably identical to a Note 2 but the names of everything and builds and versions are all different, so you have to learn new 'words' like it is a new language. Fortunately you have a great community so you just have to learn how to search for things. Check the general section for android development I think there is a sticky that has a glossory of terms that explains all the acronyms.
I've had mine for 3 months but I would still welcome a crash course as well.
Well I prefer twrp as my custom recovery. Depending on your firmware version you can root without your phone ever going to download mode. I did. I used exynos abuse to get root. Then used mobile odin to flash a new rom. Always reset google wallet if you are reseting or flashing a new rom. Its tempermental. I would stay around only the sprint veraion for now. There is a way to use roms from other note 2 variants. I believe its in the dev section. Recovery is standalone. So swirching roms doesnt change it. You cannot talk on the phone and be on the internet at the same time unless you are using wifi or 4glte. If you like to draw or doodle there is sketchbook mobile which is awesome. Btw ma7 is the most current firmware that I know of. Also you can sideload the google wallet apk with no extra work to get it working. Goodluck and read alot.

You need root to do most modifications to your phone. I find that I need root for everyday stuff too (Titanium backup, Stweaks, Root app delete, etc).

ClockWork Mod and TeamWin Recovery Project. Both have custom recovery pieces. I personally had some troubles with CWM on this phone and just use Odin now. I head TWRP works better than CWM on the Note 2, but Odin is the Tool Samsung suggests. Note that TWRP is MUCH more feature-rich than Odin. You might choose TWRP (or CWM) if you wanted to flash stuff from your SD card rather than from your PC- good for jumping around between kernels on the fly, for example.
Odin and the other two are all ways to flash stuff to your phone. That's all Odin does; the other two have lots more features.

Heck yeah! Simplest way is to root it and uninstall everything you don't like (Root App Delete from the Play Store seems to work pretty well; be sure you have a backup before you start blowing stuff away).
If you'd like to take it a step further, get a custom ROM that's been debloated; they normally require a full wipe, so bye bye sprint stuff. (Again, root it and back it up first!)

I appreciate you taking the time to go through all that, but I think maybe I didn't explain too well what I was trying to get. I wasn't asking for the general info, just things specific to CDMA and the L900. Like what was replying about. Not trying to be a jerk, but I know there's already a thousand threads on recoverys, ROMs, and rooting. Just didn't wanna do anything to my phone that would be irreversible (i.e. The resetting Google Wallet thing) or something that would cause signal issues (I read stuff on flashing certain ROMs on certain modems may create issues). Stuff like that. Like I said though appreciate the time you took, and any info you may have like that would certainly be appreciated.

Oh I forgot. If you are on ljc expect to not go back to it if you update to ma7. For some reason lots of people have had trouble going back. It would cause slot of problems. Ma7 is just fine for me though. Great battery life and what not. I would say do the update. If you are going custom rom and are currently unrooted just do the ota. Or there is a firmware file around here to flash. I updated firmware before going to ma7. Although I was already rooted using exynos abuse. Ma7 eliminates the exploit. So be prepared to do that before going to ma7. If there is anything I am missing that you still need answers to or don't understand just ask. Its also a good habit to update profile and prl when switching roms or modems.

I picked up something along those lines from reading around. It took all of 15 minutes out of the box before I got all rooted with new ROMs being flashed after playing around on stock just to get a baseline with all the ROM hoping that was sure to follow. Needless to say I didn't read up on anything modem wise before doing all this as I, admittedly, jumped the gun a little (I was just so excited to have a whole new community with new dev teams and all these foreign ROMs to explore). I used Max's trusty galaxynote2root site to root (love that guy). And used the GalaxyNote2RootSprint.zip to obtain root. Then, went straight into the original development section and immediately flashed the absolutely amazing Liquid Smooth. Now I should say, I did receive a message saying the was an update to the phone through sprint and I did proceed with the OTA while dling the zip and giving root instructions a quick once over. So, I'm guessing that took care of going to ma7 for me? Cuz I'm definitely using the ma7 modem. Now I did leave my beloved aosp as I did want to see if I would actually use all the S pen features that aosp sadly doesn't offer us. I jumped around from Whapasaurous to Venom Ice a d finally to Macks All Star, but I'm assuming that unless it's totally different from GSM that flashing a new ROM has no effect on your modem (but by all means correct me if I'm wrong). So just wanna make sure I went about things the right way here.
P. S. I did use the zip to revert the sd cards file format when returning from aosp so I didn't have to deal with all that "0" and "legacy" nonsense.
Thanks again!

P.P.S. I don't really seem to have any data issues so I'm guessing all is well, but I am having an issue where my wifi keeps turning itself on, like multiple times a day. I thought at first I may have been accidently hitting it, but upon further review, nope, not me. Sounds more like a ROM issue to me though, but as it seems like it may pertain I figured I'd bring it up

I think you should have stayed with Tmobile and there 70 dollar unlimited because in a few months to a year you would have had lte and hspa+42 &21 as a fall back before you went to slow data. Im making the jump slowly but surely. My wife is getting the S4 on Tmobile and when the note3 comes out ill be going as well im sick of cdma amd the slow data when there is no LTE

I really only made the move due to the fact that T-mobile is the only service provider that gets absolutely no coverage inside my work, and, unfortunately, I work 12 hour days, 4-5 days a week. So, being as my contract was up, I didn't wanna sign up for 2 more years with lte "coming soon." I know you all with Sprint know how that has the possibility of turning out. Plus, just because they were getting lte doesn't mean I'm going to see any improvement at work. Now I'm getting consistent 3g inside work and I'm loving it. Actually typing this inside, infamously, the worst service area in the entire building and still getting an almost constant connection. Occasionally I am getting 4g, not often, but it's happened. Playing around with modems tonight though. Did end up trying LJC after being on MA7,no problems so far, actually seeing improvement. Thanks for the heads up on the Sprint Connection Optimizer, gonna check that out now. Super annoying, especially as I do work 12 hour shifts and with wifi turning randomly on, don't wanna look to see my battery down to nada. That's just the kinda info I was hoping to get here, thanks again!

Yeah the wifi thing Will kill your battery. Sprint is not as bad as everyone thinks and says I have great LTE in 90% of where I go. I'm thinking of going to T-Mobile because I'm sick of cdma devices we are always are considered last ro none over GSM. If sprint keeps up the good work with the LtE and 3g ill be saying. Glad you hot it figured out for rh the most part.
