Does Andoid has BT DUN client app like ibluever? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am debating to buy an iphone or Galaxy note. Hopefully Android has such app.
I was trying to use an Android device to act as BT DUN client, not BUN server.
I wasn't able to find BlueTooth DUN client on Android such as ibluever from Cydia on iphone.
Any suggestions? Thanks

this ?
Edit: Also this

No. They are not what I was talking about ;=)
I was looking for DUN client
. For example, an app that allows my android to connect to a device which can provide DUN. An app like ibluever So far I didn't find one.
These are the opposite of what I was looking for. ;=)

My bad. Try this one.

Yep this app looks promisin. Thanks ! But my android phone
is LG-P509 and is incompatible with blue vpn. So I could not try it on my phone. Did you or someone have sucessfull experience of using this app on Galaxy note to make direct modem connection to another non droid device? Thanks,

Lol
Lol:crying:

try "bt DUN" from google play

remote assistance app that controls android devices via windows?

i was wondering if theres anything such as windows-controlling-an-android remote assistance software?
reason why i ask this is because some people are not good with android and they keep asking me for help with it. instead of meeting them up in person I was wondering if its possible to control their android device from Windows?
get the android vnc app from the market
No results found... what's the app called exactly?
Isn't android-vnc something that controls your computer from your phone? Original post requests just the opposite: the ability to control someone's phone from his computer.
Teamviewer??
I any luck yet
I think the OP is looking for the opposite -- Remote support to control the Android device FROM a computer, not controlling a computer from Android
I'm looking for the same thing to help my family out. I currently use VNC and a custom script to do remote PC support.
Droid Explorer, but you need basic adb (android-sdk) installed, but it gives you full control of your phone. You can push apps, take screen shots, and everything inbetween
Search remote web desktop. There is a control addon that works very well, and all in a web interface. No adb necessary.

Webkey. Although it might be too powerful for what you need...
You can try AirDroid.

Sorry guys, i have bought a tablet for the grandma, and tried to help her many times over phone conversation. She has now the basic skills to the tablet, but as you know the android can be very embarrassing and surprising...
I really need a remote assistance software WITHOUT any rooting and other miserable solutions: just simply install and use.
I feel myself as a victim of a fascist raping. Do you guys or do the manufacturers really think, to help for a 70 years old lady is an extreme requirement?
The tablet: prestigio pmp7070c, fantastic hardware with the looser android. The winmo 6 would be far more better than this miserable android.

You'll have to piece the link together as I'm not yet allowed to post links on XDA.
It's not free. But this will work.

Wifi tether and RDP native app for Mango

Hi,
does some one works on Wifi tether and RDP native app for WP7 Mango?
Does Mango all it yet ?
Thanks for info.
Do you saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233612 ?
Ok, good that someone tries to make up it but sad is that it's not in default enabled.
but the question about the RDP native support stays. I kinda think we could discuss it at least. I've twited onto the Brandon Watson and Joe Belfiore sometime ago, with the same exact question - where is my RDP and VPN (PPTpOe, IPSec) support? Is it planned, if yes when..
an none of them bothered to confirm or deny it , for mango or later. . if somebody knows something, please share
Wifi tethering
Hi, I was wondering, some of the carriers with mango will have wifi hotspot embedded will there be development on this "soon" for free wifi tethering? This is very essential you know?
The Remote Desktop app in the Marketplace does the job. If you have Mango, it uses the sockets support and no longer requires a proxy.

which app?
The name of the app is Remote Desktop. The release notes mention the mango socket support so you can confirm you selected the right one.

Virtual Media Link HD - Reverse engineering

Hello there awesome XDA guys!
I'm currently speculating about the possibility of creating a virtual Media Link HD.
This would include, reverse engineering of the protocols used as well as acting exactly like the original device, except for the fact that it is not a real device.
I was hoping that this software could run on the Raspberry Pi and enable screen mirroring as well as media content streaming.
This will provide a very cheap, if not free, alternative to the very expensive Media Link HD.
This, of course, should work with, but are not limited to, the HTC One X,
So is anyone up for it?
I would be glad to help out with some programming wherever possible.
Thanks!
Interesting! I actually read somewhere that it uses regular wifi, and just sits on your network, waiting for for a upnp/dnla request. upnp is not that hard to implement. I ordered a raspi and it should arrive somewhere between now and 10 weeks. If you would be able to implement something like this into the XBMC media center software you would have a very nice addition to your mediacenter.
Edit: partially this is already possible. You can't use the swipe gesture (but that is just a phone-software-side thing) and you can only stream media, no screen sharing, it is called uPnp/DLNA, you can use, for example, the iMediashare app to send media to any dnla compatible device (XBMC, some new TV's, windows media player?). Screensharing however is probably not yet possible and I wonder how HTC solves that problem, maybe they just encode your audio/video output into a movie file and stream that over dnla. We would need someone with a mediashare HD and Wireshark to figure that out.
Wifi Analyzer saw the HTC Media Link HD on channel 1, I didn't try it multiple times but will do, after I reset it a few times.... But don't think it automatically searches for the best channel that is free.... I can see another 2 networks from nearby homes on the same channel.
I don't have Wireshark though, not heard of it before either.....

Go install WireShark and you will see for yourself.
Obviously we need to use Shark For Root on Android, so the phone must have root.
Unfortunately my phone does not have root, its locked down with S-On to for now

Just saw this post (2,5 years after posting, sorry). Any progression already? Just bought a Raspberry Pi, and try to push Spotify from HTC One X+ to it. Did not find a solution yet, so HTC link would be great. Or has anyone a better idea to share Spotify by Wifi to Rasp?
Thx and have a nice day,
Nico

Aren't there some android roms out for the rasp? Could just install one of those perhaps.
I don't actually own a rasp at the moment, so forgive me if there's some obvious reason that this wouldn't work.

Since I haven't got a Media Link HD I can't really reverse engineer it. However as Toichat points out, you should be able to run a full blown Android installation on it. Hope it helps!

I guess that's for the best...
Two ways to do this...root and no root...
I was looking for the same to provide support to clients. There are two ways I've found to do this...
1) My Mobiler:
Not sure if ypu guys remember this from the good old WinMo days, but My Mobiler is now available for Android users for some time. Must be rooted and config is a little tricky on Samsung phones (easy on HTC and Moto), but once you get it working it's great for local control via USB or WiFi, or remote control via VPN or some other virtual network. Google it. Unfortunately you have to be rooted so not for everyone.
2) Teamviewer:
For Samsung devices only...no root required, free! One click install! Works great on GN2, GS3, and GN10.1 (those are the only three I tested, may work with others). Just go to the Play Store and search for Teamviewer Quicksupport. With free Teamviewer app on desktop or another Android device, any user with a compatible device can send you an invitation to allow you remote control desktop sharing of their device. According to Teamviewer, this only works on stock rom. I'm running stock MA7 rooted on my GN2 and it works great. Easy reliable connection, setup couldn't be simpler, and Android to Android remote control is great. And since no root is required, if you happen to buy a Samsung smartphone or tablet for your mom or dad, it's a great way to help them out when they call you for help!

[Q] Surface RT Android App Help!!!!

Hi Guys
I am after a Android app that I use and I really need which is called Mobile CMS. I want to know is there a way to install Android apps on the Surface RT and run. I connect to my work cameras using my IP address and port number to connect to my DVR.
or if they is any other software I can use for what im looking for?
Your help is much needed
Thanks
Steve
"Is there any way"? No. Why would you even think that? Can you install iOS apps on Android? No!
"any other software"? I don't know. There's a number of protocols used for those types of connections. You may even be able to just use a web browser; RT (unlike recent versions of Android) supports Flash, and some of those cameras let you view their feeds in the browser using Flash.

Iv tried using the web browser but it doesnt want to open it. Its just a blank page with a grey X on the corner of the page meaning it doesnt allow to view the image.
Probably needs a different plugin then, like Silverlight or Java. RT supports Flash, but no others. That's too bad.
Just checking: is your Surface up to date? *VERY* old RT firmware would not run Flash by default on most sites.
Anyhow, if you know what protocol it uses for video streaming, you can probably find an app in the store that understands it and can display the feed.

Yes it up to date. i just really need this app or anything on the lines that im looking for that can connect to my DVR.
Anyone else have a idea... Something??
You've had the only answer possible with the information given.
What is the DVR in use?
The forums for the DVR in question would be able to help better.
The only other possible answer: buy an android device
