Woot

They have added the T889v (Canadian AWS Variant)
Seems to be source for Platform and Kernel.

Yep AFAIK this is just the GPL part of the code - aka the part they are required to release.

It is kernel source (+ platform) have already started building but as always they throw a bug or two at you to make you work for it.

Excuse the noobish question, but does kernel + platform mean that everything needed to compile a functional android system for the device is present or does it mean everything sans precious drivers.

Gotchya. Thanks for the quick response.
I guess the core of my question is if this is useful for building newer versions of Android as they come out (IE 4.2). If not, what else do i need? Where do i find it? Where does this fit into the puzzle

lol, same sentiment here, I thought someone dug up some old thread
The recent thing they posted was the source of the AT&T Captivate aka SGH-I897...(don't know if it has anything new in it compared to last months Galaxy S source)
ok, what does this source contain basically ?
just curious
As far as I can tell, the full kernel source including drivers (but a couple are currently precompiled), and the changes to the base Android system compared to Eclair AOSP, although I'm no expert in this.
I'm no expert but even precompiled drivers should be usable to port gingerbread should samsung choose to skip it for our precious gems, right?

[Q] CM7 developement

hey guys, the last months i've seen almost 4 topics about developing (such as Maroc&Razor, Motafoca, Androhacker etc...) why doesn't anyone of those combine and form 1 single team. I think it will be much better than 4 seperate teams.
And 4 different ROMS are better than 1. Everyone is working with someone else at the moment.

agreed. if people having options they will try rather then using one......
I agree with OP.. unity is the strength here.. they would hv developed it faster if they worked together.. although there can be major clashes over the the concepts.. as some strongly support some issue some don't at all!
But the point is for the sake of the dev.. they might consider sharing what they hv achieved so far.. like so far the one by razor083 is very much working.. but with lot of bugs.. if they try they can make it work! instead they r building it again separately! They should only do dat if there is nothing to be done on this port by razor083!! in dat case they should proceed from source again! but atlst they should take a look at it!!

nope.. it is from the source.. He also said "Its from source
I built it"..
No 3G, no Wifi, and no audio. Now thats not something I would flash. Waiting for a stable bug free version with crossed fingers. xP
OP is right: We (developers/themers/porters) should work together to make a fully working cm7 and cm9. Not all the bad roms which all get discontinued.... PM me if you want me to work with you!

Hats off to Sir Arco and all other developers. It's due to them that we have grabbed some attention !!!
Galaxy W I8150 + DXLM2 + CM9 Beta 3
It's the best news for W and S+ users! Of course CM10.1 can be ported to S+. I am supporting arco for this, Galaxy W improves further than before!!!
Great news and i'm happy that the Galaxy W is still getting supported even if it has been long forgotten by Samsung.
this is very suprising news , only can think arco as the maintainers
at last:laugh:
Eh... who said anything about official support? That was just a proof that it's actually booting. At this point, that's about it, as pretty much nothing else is working and it's extremely buggy. Getting it to a working state may take a loooong time, and also depends on whether Qualcomm will provide sources that supports the 7x30 platform on 4.2.

I just want to ask, will you release cm10 with half-usable 3.x kernel, I mean, thats severe of user don't mind using camera and video record, so its worth a shot because everybody love and want to try the butterness
thanks master
Hope it will be soon, but it's enough to have W with 3.x.x kernel and CM10 for now. When Samsung forgot the W, it's good to see arco and CM Team are working on this device. Keep working on that guys.

I've read the whole thread, and not. a. single. post ever mentioned the source of the list.
So, since there is no official news release from the Cyanogenmod team, I'd say that this is hearsay...
Yes, no trustable source. I'm asking myself, why would someone add our phone to the list of the new Cyanogenmod and imply a change of policy of CM?
Thanx arco for clearing things up.

Ye I'll see if I can do a build of CM10 with 3.x kernel soon. Things are a bit overwhelming at the moment, with 3 Android versions to work on, so it's hard to find enough time to spend on them. I'm beginning to feel that Google should slow down their release cycle a bit. As it is now, there's barely enough time for us devs to get a version stable, before they release a new Android version and we'll have to start all over again.
So it seems all we have to do is to wait for now

[DEV REQUEST] Ubuntu Touch port to N7100?

Hi everyone,
As you probably have heard, the Ubuntu Touch (alpha) image has been released for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, 7 and 10.
I would like to request porting it to our N7100 devices!
If I could I would do it myself but I have never ported anything.. However, if I can help in any way I will gladly do what I can!
For reference:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
Since Galaxy S3 was one of the best-selling smartphone, I hope will be a port for it and consequentially for note 2 that has the same hardware platform
its not the place to Request a port.

big boooi no need to request, the porting instructions just came online and seem as "easy" as building CM from source.
its only natural that ports will be available on most devices.

Yay!!!
Device = Note 2
Rom = Omega 12
([email protected] black,[email protected] pack)
Kernel = Perseus 32
(Cpu [email protected],Gpu [email protected])
Audio = AC!D + Noozxoide
There is no point of porting it currently, as most things don't work very well..
This is for devs, to test their apps. Not for users.. (yet )

I am aware of this.. But porting also has it's own malfunctions and problems. By porting an alpha release some of these problems can be solved before the stable release, was my thought

Hi Dev,
Ubuntu Touch is fabulous and it looks great.
I see you were working hardly last month in porting Ubuntu touch in SGN2.
But this month no update, not a single post. Is this project ALIVE or being DISCONTINUED or DEAD???
Dev pl work on it, we have lots of hope on you.
Thanks

you sure? every time you say that a dev's compilation fails or a hard drive gains a faulty sector
I heard it's quite difficult to port sense. I've tried; no success; but I've tried basic porting with a tutorial. Maybe we need more guts rather than devs working on that

we still didnt reach full speed after 4.0 android coz of using 3.0 kenel,3.4 kernel is reqvested to get full speed and all inprovments.there is omapzoom project with still suport omap chips,its last kernel version is 3.8.
Let's hope someday, with 3.4 we can port it! I still have tuna-faith
Speaking of 3.4 Kernel. Isn't the HP Touchpad an OMAP device?
If so they have a working 3.4 kernel.
