Photosphere & new Gallery and Camera app (android 4.2) - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

I have installed the new Gallery & Camera apps using the flashable ZIP. The apps are working, but making a 'huge' photo doesn't seem to work (because it's very slow?). The camera takes 1 picture after outlining, but then nothing happens.
My ROM is CM10 (from today).
More experiences?

update:
Changed language setting to English US. It is working (just took 2 pictures which have been photo-sphere'd) but it is really really really slow.
The new 'focus' function is working brilliant.

Could it be lack of gyro on i9000?

yes gyro is missing and photosphere never works the way it should be. does not understand our movements well enough.

Seems like it, I can take photospheres just about, but it is probably using the other sensors to detect movement, albeit really slowly and inaccurately - the resulting image is out of line as the pictures don't line up etc.

get fc's when i flash the files :-/ also tried to delete app files any suggestions?

Photosphere is useless for the people who own a i9000 just like me ;p
There's no gyroscope.

It's a shame they can't get it to work with accelerometer alone.

But there's no possibility to make it work with the help of accelerometer?? Or something similar? Cause it works, the only problem is the gyroscope! :/

It is identical by design but we have a 850mhz band, 6 axis accelerometer instead of 3 axis and a gyro

photospere works (I use system language nglish us as default). But the thing is soooooooo sloooooooooooow... I wonder what could be done in order to make it work faster. Because it can work faster. I think it is so slow because it's looking for the gyro sensor with the accelerometer help. But we don't have gyro so it becomes very slow. I wonder if we could mod the sphere to only use the accelerometer. That could make it work faster!

If you can do that, i will give you a donut

Does it work with the I9001 ?

[APP] Smart Stay BETA (like S3 smart eye)

hey everybody,
i found it in this thread and have tested it on my phone ... it works on GB 2.3.6
after installing and starting app, you must reboot your phone.
all credits to elnoxvie, great work
if you like this app, hit the thanks button in his thread and please give him feedback
Thanks for sharing. It works well in RebelROM (GB 2.3.6), and it's a nice app to be used when reading PDF
but my camera app doesn't work when smart stay is on
using lgcamera
anyone can test it with another camera app?

FINALLY!! Touch-auto-exposure in Jelly Bean camera!!

For the longest time most Android camera apps are incapable of auto adjusting exposure to suit the touch-focus area, a feature that's found in HTC Sense camera and iOS camera. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I just realized that this feature has finally been added to Jelly Beam on GNexus!! For this feature alone I'll stick with Jelly Bean instead of AOKP ICS.
Just wanted to share this as I thought some might find it useful.
Cheers.
--
Edit: I'm really surprised by how many people have absolutely no idea what touch-exposure is. The keywords are highlighted in red above. If you still have no idea what it does, borrow an iPhone from your friend, try touch-focus a few different areas with different brightness levels within the same view, you'll know what I'm talking about. Sadly most people don't even know what they are missing out....
This is awesome if true!

I think it's automatic... uh "touch-auto-exposure" is in the name. Wherever you touch on the screen automatically applies the correct exposure.
You can also take pictures while recording video, just tap on screen.

I'm always baffled why Google didn't implement this earlier. iOS and HTC Sense have had it for a while.
And guess what, even Galaxy S3 still does NOT have this feature..
better known as touch to focus :silly:
I'm confused. What exactly are we talking about? Does touch-to-focus do something it didn't do before? And autofocus doesn't do it?
I think Touch to Focus was absent in AOSP until JB. I used it today without realizing it is a new feature, works exactly as it should.

how to install the Nexus 4 Camera on your M

I did not port this over I just am giving you a way to install on your Razr M.
Download the zip from here ---- >http://d-h.st/lVe
Then follow the directions from here ---> http://pastebin.com/gcHJrFQc
Remember to edit your build.prop ---> editing your build prop can lead to future problems.
Anyone try this yet?
ok so I have a non dev M. I'm rooted and on the Jelly Bean leak. I can confirm this is working for me but I just replaced the files with root explorer and also edited the build.prop through text editor. I copied the files one at a time in the order of the directions, then edited the build.prop and reboot. people are reporting bugs but it's working good here.
I take it the Nexus 5 camera is good? Never seen it. Is it better than the stock Razr M one? And if I install it, does it replace the stock one?
Sent from my DROID Pro using xda app-developers app
This does not replace the stock apps. I now have two camera and two gallery apps. The camera is OK. Basically they added a nice panorama and sphere mode a layout change but the gallery adds a lot of cool editing options. I am having problems with sphere mode with the camera. Its really slow and I'm not sure if I'm using it right.
OK photo sphere requires a gyroscope, something the Razr M does not have. No photo sphere for us.
well i installed the files and the camera is working great. much faster than the stock cam!
however i did not do any build.prop edits. what is the advantage of doing them?

Panorama and photo sphere might work if you do.
as mentioned, there's no way photosphere will work as it requires a gyroscope which the m doesn't have. i like this camera anyway even without photosphere, and have been trying to modify the apk to remove the photosphere menu option without any luck. don't have much knowledge of smali editing :/
Just as an FYI the description of the file to download the files says to use this address instead http://d-h.st/aIy and not to download that file. Update?

Users on other devices have reported success in using it, and I've only ever gotten the front facing camera to work with it. Rear facing camera will only provide a force close

Installed on Eclipse Rom without any issues, didn't need to modify the build.prop or anything. It's very snappy.
Tried with PAC only thing the build prop did was trick the app sphere was still very sluggish Ty for the cam though very cool

I was a curious kitty the other day and came accross this thread.

A few things to note:
- Its very buggy
- When attempting Picsphere and panorama it FCs
- Current settings are default, HDR works ok
- Certain Scene modes cause it to FC
but other than that, it takes nice pics, i'll try to upload some vs the stock camera when i get a chance
