Thanks for these. I assume the auto brightness mod will work on CM as well?

Welcome bro! Looking forward to give this a shot... Thanks a lot for your work.
Quick question! Would this theme work on PA 2.2.9?
EDIT: I went ahead and installed the theme.... Looks awesome except the contacts displays like this ...

thats why my OP stated that most 4.2.1 ROMs are a little behind when it comes to enabling themeable contacts and mms.
How to fix:
If you are on PA, you should be able to flash this mod. It is based on the XYLON ROM for Nexus4 (version 11) and from previous experience with the GNEX, it should work on PA. I am not 100% sure about AOKP, but then again, I did upload an enabler for AOKP in the OP as well.
anyhow, try this one:
DOWNLOAD themable contacts/MMS by XYLON ROM

I just added 2 mods that increase the auto-brightness settings for the XYLON 11 ROM for the Nexus 4 to the OP.
Medium - auto-brightness settings were enhanced with 20 levels instead of the stock 10. All levels up to 100 lux were enhanced SLIGHTLY
HIGH - auto-brightness settings were enhanced with 20 levels instead of the stock 10. All levels up to 400 lux were increased significantly
DOWNLOAD enhanced auto-brightness values MEDIUM

It seems that this zip breaks the phone application on aokp 12/4 build.
I also use the one from the OP and got the same result "phone.apk isn't installed"

Maybe because it's for xylon and pa and not aokp?

To all:
I know it is a little hit and miss nowadays for us themers with many 4.2.1 roms coming out with their own little adaptations, some implement the themable contacts/MMS, others dont.
Best in class are still xylon ROM and AOKP when it comes to enabling us themers to do our job with CM trailing a little behind and other ROM chefs totally ignoring this. Most other ASOP based ROMS still just the same crappy hand-coded values/colors into the apps as google "envisioned" which makes it impossible for us to use the theme-engine.
I never liked to modify apps directly for many reasons, so theming via the theme choser is the right way forward (across roms/accross android versions/across devices)

I appreciate it dude.... Rocking your theme on PA, all looking good and sexy lol.
Thank you!

[ROM][GN][GSM] Mandaman2k_v7 ROM based on Buggles Beast ICS-Build 04-06-12

Hi,
For all the people who like PA Bugless Beast ROMs I'm posting here a modification of his ICS ROM with a personal choice of mods I like and use.
I chose Bugless Beast as base ROM because in my personal opinion is the cleanest, and least modified AOSP so I can add my preferences change.
On this version, as my first ROM I'm adding:
CM9 T9 Dialer
Extended Power menu - Reboot Options
MMS fix Added by Peter Alfonso
Power Notification Menu (To Open just tap the setting icon on the status bar, tap and hold to go to settings, thanks to TeamKang).
Battery Text in Notification
Custom Carrier Label
For more changes check the changelog below.
I'm still very new at all this custom rom thing, but I'm planning to add more things to the ROM but as always keeping it as Clean and AOSP as possible.
Also as I do my own updates I'll be adding every new nightly that Pete get's out of course with my mods if that is he hasn't already got them in.
Future Mods
Lockscreen options
Full Rom with Mods

Hi Mandaman2k
How about "the MOD addon" flashable instead of the Full ROM?
FYI - Reloaded ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222
Your single flashable zip can support Peter Alfonso NS(crespo/crespo4g) and GN(maguro/toro)??!!
I think it'll be easier to update

this rom is based on aosp
too bad, i really like the mod...
would be nice to have it for aosp based roms
then you can modify any aosp rom, and do not have to use aokp all the time

Can you add a mod that enables the Back soft button on the right? That would satisfy many users coming from galaxy S2 world.

Its been a while since I've used a stock rom.
However, we probably don't have as many customisable items as roms such as AOKP or CM, there is only a few of us that work on this rom afterall.
reserved for me
Menu?
One of the features I have appreciated from other AOSP-AOKP-CM9 Roms recently is the abliity to set the MENU icon(Soft Keys) so that there are four soft keys in the navigation - I tried to figure out how to make that happen with the EOS settings on this ROM and unfortunately I am either blind and can't see it or it doesn't currently exist.
Is this in the plan moving forward or will this not be something we can do?
Having said that - it seems like a great rom - very smooth - snappy - nice work!
One other quick question - the ROM Calls for downloading GAPS - 4-22-2012 - but there is a more recent version - 4-29-12 - is there some reason why you wanted us to flash that GAPPS versus the more recent one?

Is the compass working correctly? I already use EOS on my Xoom so I may as well run it on my Nexus .
the kernel u use what build is it # wise
before i flash, does this rom allow you to use the default slide unlock as well as a pattern/pin unlock simultaneously?
On stock its one or the other. so u lose your camera shortcut for the pattern/pin unlock.

Its straight aosp unmodified. As there are highly talented kernel devs in the gnex scene, the kernel is not a focus of our development. Personally I use Franco kernel with his paid market app.
I've done the touchstone mod and I'm having trouble charging from the pogo pin circuit. If I connect a USB cable to charge then power up the touchstone then remove the USB, it will charge from the touchstone. If I simply power up the touchstone charger it will only charge of the phone is off. It feels like a software problem. Any ideas?
Make sure to grab the latest nightly. Almost all linaro optimizations are implemented and its fast as hell. Camera and Netflix are fixed as well. We're still looking at string aliasing optimizations but its breaking prop libs atm. Let me know if anybody finds broken apps. Oh and please benchmark against some of the other crappy roms floating around.
What's the latest nightly 23?

Work in Progress
Please make sure you have backups for anything you don't want to lose.
Google apps are not official, this is a community hack, we have tested all apps but you could still encounter issues.
This is still a work in progress. we are working hard to tame 4.2.2, which brought significant changes and bugs.
Do not ask about CyanogenMod features. We will continue to add more features in version 3.x, when we have a 100% stable base.
Installation
Update your recovery to the latest version. Pre 4.2 recoveries can mess up your sd card/storage. We recommend TWRP.
Download pa google apps: http://d-h.st/Do8 Updated 15-JUL-2013
Download rom: http://d-h.st/AnC Updated 18-JUL-2013
Follow PA on Google+ for changes and other info
Perform a factory reset in recovery, unless you are already on PA 2.99+
Flash ROM first, then gapps
Wipe dalvik & cache
Reboot and wait, first bootup can take up to 5 minutes, it will also restart once
Enter your Google account info, press home when you encounter the black screen
After the quirky bootup is over, the rom should work normally
Do not restore system apps, system data and Google apps. This can cause bootloops and other problems due to mismatches from CM to AOSP and Android version 4.1.2 to 4.2

Features
Hybrid engine ported, Per App DPI and Per App Layout
Tablet UI back from the dead
Per app color
Quicksettings -> Quicktoggles (first draft, more to follow)
New recents implementation
We fixed the aosp lag in the recents view, well, most of it
New SystemUI Icons that can cope with transparent bars, thanks go to John Xionidis
See through Lockscreen is back
Transparent bars + Launcher2 modified to cope with it
4.2 Walls and Sounds
Google stock apps
Extended Desktop
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT
This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR
ParanoidAndroid's newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

New option: "large" to trick an app thinking the device has a real big screen. some need it, like amazon kindle to jump into tabUI. some even react on it, gdrive will slightly adapt its layout - makes only sense if you give it a small dpi though.
The algorithm to extract the actual layout containers from apk files works more precise and can reveal more than before. there will still be a few apps left who do that layout stuff in java - we will add an override button for that, but in the meantime you can edit /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf .layout=360 for phone-like UI, 600 for phablet, 720 = tablet, 1280 = super huge tablet

Someone be the nice guy
Is this for CDMA fellas?
Btw- don't see a "fix" file package anymore, not needed? I'm on 1.1b and was going to flash 1.2b, but saw this

This is for the VZW Galaxy Nexus. I believe there is a different build for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus (which is also CDMA).
As of right now, no fix should be needed for 1.3. 1.2 only had a (simple) fix because the default DPI was set incorrectly.

Thanks Minooch!
Will try it out thanks!

I was waiting for RasBean but this might become my default ROM considering I only use the Franco Kernel and I don't like CM/AOKP based ROMs. Downloading now.
About time. Lol.

Great idea. I hope toggles, lockscreen targets and navigation bar modification options will be present in a near future.
Congrats and thnx for your work.

I just flashed and so far it's very nice and smooth.
Has a black style theme to it which I like.

Just flashed it. I do believe the Navigation bar is messed up, or is that a new button style? Looks too squished to me.
Nav bar is awful
Many thanks to everyone testing.
The nav bar is from here
If you would like to revert back to normal, I will upload a zip tomorrow to revert it

Honestly the Nav bar keys you used look glitched, even if that's how they're supposed to look. You're going to get a lot of complaints about this because really, they look more defective than stylish. Thanks for the zip though.
Great ROM I hope there are still features and regular updates to follow. Thanks for your work
Stupid question: is everything working in that ROM?
What are known issues?

I'm using it and I can say it's bugless (at least for me!)
No bugs till now. I didn't find any bugs after lots of testing.
My opinion: It's the best.

[ROM][4.2.2][AOKP/CM] Root-Box [20131015][v4.1?][PIE][Halo][Privacy Guard]

Hey forum,
So, here's a bit of an update, apparently Android 4.3 is a harsh environment for this phone, so I've gone back and got Root-Box rebuilt so I can have an up to date daily driver.
The only thing that bugs me right now is that if you set a lock screen custom wallpaper it seems to cause a restart of the System UI after a while.
Please, enjoy.
^_^
ScreenshotsHere's some screen caps of the Halo thing.

Here's a lock screen with a Unicorn.
DescriptionVanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

Coming from another ROM:
1. Have a safe (preferably EL26 cwm) recovery
2. Wipe Data/Factory Reset (This does not affect your Internal/External storage)
3. Flash RootBox zip
4. Flash JB GAPPS
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache
6. Reboot
How to upgrade RootBox versions:
1. Download RootBox update
2. Flash RootBox update
3. Flash JB GAPPS
...
6. Reboot
Special Note:
Recently someone hacked the Facebook hack into the contacts provider, this does not upgrade cleanly and force-closes acore a lot.
To fix this issue, you need to remove /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.*, your contacts will re-build this database when the sync runs the next time (May require a reboot).

sniper is already building this. Why would you build it again?
So what's going to be the difference between sniper release and this one cause this looks nice as well?

Sniper hasn't had a build in over a month, in the last little while a new feature appeared... like I said up there at the top.
Also, I added a preference of having a "Tiny" font to the settings, because I like it that way.

I added an option to have "Tiny" fonts because I like having a small font and sniper hasn't had a build in like 2,000 years, I posted this because the new Halo feature is kinda neat, thought maybe some peeps would like to see/use it :good:

What would it take to add "Screenshot" as a navigation bar button option and add the date to the status bar clock? These two items are included in SlimBean, BeanStalk and Liquid Smooth but are missing from all the roms I've tried that are built with PA preferences.
Received two random reboots so far one is while playing music and one was on Facebook lol but I have no tweaks running no other kernel or anything like it just this ROM and gapps on a clean flash

Never used any of those things, so I have no idea, I run Automagic4Android and Lux, but neither of those things are performance things.

Screenshots of Halo look like this works better than the other Halo's I've tried. flashing now to see how it runs. Thanks!
WOW! This is working like a trooper and so smooth, I like Xposed better than PA (increasing Font for old eyes) and I run various apk's from all roms, platforms etc... so this is definitely not an average install. Everything is running great and have not found any issues and this is the Best Halo I've had running!
I may have to try using that ^_^

That would be cool I don't know what the font size is however I run apps in Xposed DPI 128 Font Scale 138. Not sure if it is 138% default font or just a setting?

Just uploaded a build from today (Not a whole lot of changes from Root-Box), added a Giant font-size option
Not sure if that alleviates any DPI issues in other apps or anything, just figured I'd add it ^_^
Can receive MMS but can't view....
