Before We Start...
To flash the ROM, you have to root and unlock your phone, which might be dangerous or difficult for some of you to follow. Also, your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for dead SD cards, bricked device and more. If your device exploded in your hands without following the instruction, sorry I cannot help you and I am not responsible for any damages. You will be just fine if you follow the instruction.

Since I do not own Xperia Ion, I need your help to make this ROM perfect.

Cm10.1 RCs are rolling out but CM support for Ion (not FXP) ended on cm9 and there are no RCs for Ion as I see. But, as soon as FXP develops CM10.1 or RC roll out for Ion, I will make 4.2.2 version for Ion. Yes, there's no OTA update for now.

I think still FXP team can't find a way to make it work. So if it is a bug in CM10 then it will be in this ROM. I forgot to check whether it is working or NOT. Now I am on stock firmware

Oh. That just cooled me off from unlocking the BL :/
Since my contract includes unlimited texts, I use them a lot. Having a limit would be less useful (as I would have to send the next sentence in another sms :/ )
it would be nice if include the file manager for next version. it's important for people who use titanium backup. need to install apk without connecting to internet.

Would you please certify to me that you can type more than 160 characters while sending an SMS? It would be really nice.
Otherwise you can still make flashable CWM zips with Titanium Backup, so that you can flash a zip containing your file manager for example

The sms bug still there. Even fxp still can't solve it till now. There are numerous report about 160 character bug in their bug tracker. None of them are solve.

AOKP is an awesome custom Android firmware. (just like MIUI and CyanogenMod).
AOKP is based on AOSP and looks as vanilla as possible, and focusses on lots and lots of user-friendly features. What makes it different from CM is that there are many more user-customizable features.

This ROM is a combined work of all members of KangXperiaProject.
AOKP is not officially supported on any of the Xperia smartphones. So we made a Kang XperiaProject team comprising

Copy ROM zip and Gapps to sdcard
If coming from stock, flash kernel that has recovery using fastboot (not needed if you have recovery)
Boot phone, go into recovery (press vol-up(2012) or back(2011) when led is purple)
IF COMING FROM SOME OTHER ROM, make factory wipe then go into mounts/storage and format system (not needed if updating AOKP)
install zip from sd card then flash gapps if you want them (kernel is flashed automatically with zip for 2012 models, for 2011, fastboot flash the kernel)

same status here...
first I got error message "set_perm: some changes failed." then I fixed permissions from menu and tried again.
Error : "symlink: some symlinks failed."
E: Error in /sdcard/..../..zip " (status 7)
Installation aborted.

I believe that status7 means it has failed to get prop, I'm not 100% on this but I believe that the lines in the updater script which contain 'getprop' need to be deleted? I can't test it yet as I am waiting for my new acro to be delivered

anyway let me reboot to recovery and install gapps and I will let it run this night, and update if any issues are there.
You are not alone.. Supervenom's Xperia Play build also has this problem.. And I dun think it's a get prop error. Open the updater script and y will see those lines missing. Moreover if it's get prop error, the error will be something else. Just mine 2¢.. And anyone managed to solve this?
Edit: full wipe and system format then install. That worked. After that restore data cache and sd-ext to get back data.. That worked for me.

good news : no more kernel fastbooting required
1. flash a kernel that has recovery. (if you run cobrato's kernel or cm9/cm10 kernel then not required since you already have)
2. go to recovery and wipe data/cache, format system
3. flash the provided ROM zip. (the kernel is inside zip and will be flashed to device from the recovery only)
4. NO NEED TO FASTBOOT KERNEL. it gets installed when you install the ROM.
5. reboot and enjoy

HDMI ... I haven't tried.
Graphics issues noticed in Facebook app and google reader.
Other than these For my normal use, pretty much every thing is working.

Why should you flash my ROM?
I know what it says in most ROMs: flash it because its smooth and fast.
Well..my ROM has all unused bloatware removed and almost 400mb of free ram (380mb).
It is not only deodexed, it is zipaligned as well.

HOW TO INSTALL
Requirements:

A stock based kernel is recommended, however some non-stock work just as fine but might cause more battery drain.
If you come from previous husixperia versions do a full wipe and then restore data by advanced restore in CWM. If you need any help with that please do not hesitate to contact me.
Install Instructions for locked Bootloader:
1.Reoot into recovery
2.Wipe Data/Factory Reset
3.Wipe Cache partition and Dalvik Cache
4.Install the ROM

(Optional) if you want stock kernel:
5.Turn Phone off and boot into into flash mode

For unlocked bootloaders: This will NOT rewrite your kernel, except if you flash the optional (stock kernel)

wifi problem
Hi, i´m from Brazil and i´m having a wifi issue. it keeps trying to activate the wifi but it doesnt even show any mac adress in advanced mode....
i´m trying to find anything about it searching the forum and google but didn´t find anything releated, so maybe i think it can be a ROM issue....
The ROM is really really fast and i wish you could maybe solve this so i could enjoy it too... ! :good:

It's CM10.1 based so I suppose each CM languages are included.
Some questions too :
Is it updated opensemc or "old" 10.1-rc2 ?
What's working and what's not ?
Your own kernel is a 3.4 one ? Based on which sources (someone755, RaymanFX, your own) ?
Will definitly try this soon.
PS : is there a way to hide some directories in Sony's album application ? I've got all my covers in it and that's a pain ... Using ".nomedia" file is excluded as I need these directories in walkman.
My actual solution is to use third party app (quickpic).

Unlock your bootloader if you've not already.. Install DooMLord's recovery(CWM).. Reboot and go to CWM, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Go to mounts and storage and format data,cache,system.. Then flash the zip.. Reboot..

This one is 100% international and had a working camera (I don't try really it but it starts and 1080p is available).

It's too short to give a freedback but it's a CM based rom so it's smooth and some stuff may not work properly : FM radio and hdmi (don't try these but it may fail).
About kernel, there're few : kernel755, raymanFX and CM10.1. I'm using kernel755 for a long time on opensemc and it worked great so I stay on it with this rom.

I return to opensemc/CM-10.1 but have a backup of this rom so if I've got some time I try hdmi until I'm pretty sure it will fail cause it mainly depends on kernel.
Location doesn't seems to work : gps is fine but network location don't and some widgets/apps needs it.
If there's a kernel missing in zip file, I'll try it again cause this rom is smooth and had some good features : walkman is great, camera app is a way better than stock CM and starts quickly, small apps are funny (I don't use them); Sony launcher is present too with it's dedicated widgets (I don't like the launcher but widgets are nice, it's a pain they're only available with it).
It misses some things too : long press volume to skip track, CM themes (but systemUI and framework are pretty nice) and some others things doesn't work (but they're not in CM, maybe a Sony framework residue).
But it is definitly a good rom needing some little fixes.

No, mobile data never worked, but I'm compiling version with some ril changes now hopefully at least calling will work.

Update coming tomorrow still not able to place calls, but receiving them works, also camera is a little bit functional:
- no focus with back camera
- no taking of normal pics or video recording
- front camera fully functional
- panorama function works

Hardly working, but if I understand correctly getting the camera to start and all is possible with unlocked bootloader, it just cannot focus and that makes it pretty much useless.
Im assuming no one has tried this then at all? Ive just wasted time testing this... theres an issue, when you choose wipe data/ factory reset, the data partition doesnt mount... this results in constant FC since data has not been wiped...
on top of that you cannot then restore a backed up ROM since Data partition does not mount!
Not sure if you've even tested yourself?
seems its best to fix recovery first before distributing ROMS
my 2nd day wasted on Custom Roms...
EDIT: Fixed data mount issue, format successfull

Any news? Coming from nexus is love to see this working. Just waiting until I can make calls and use mobile data.Bluetooth is a non issue.the camera has been fixed in 4.3
i am almost sure krabappel2548 mentioned in the doomlord ZU GE 4.4.2 rom thread that he would fix the camera and other issues, and then (as far as i know) he went missing

But first I wanna give a lot of thanks to all of you for the great support and confidence in me throughout my development times here on XDA, I've met some wonderful people and learned a lot. I know people respect me and it's given me a great feeling of satisfaction.

I think it is just what it reports as reception. I built my own version last week and it had the same reporting issue with signal but i had no problems with calls. I think it is something to do with slimrom.

-camera bit lag
-cant use lenovo super camera but camera JB plus work plus more smooth UI.
-signal icon show wrong bar information. but actually signal reception work as it should. (tested with open signal)
not test the art yet.

It is something i do manually to fix. Just modify a file. I let the author know how to fix it so shouldnt be a problem probably just forgot to add the fix before compiling. I do that myself occasionally.

how you enable the ART? because everytime i change in developer option, then restart the device, its back to dalvik. or i missed something?
