somebody please help ... just flashed my xda exec with the latest rom and now it won't start... When trying to hard reset it and just after pressing "0" in the white screen it won't boot... I plug in the mains charger and the orange light won't show either (so I can't know if it's charging). I'm not quite sure but I suspect that the main battery's red plastic lock-switch was in the "unlock" position during the flashing (but the battery was 100% full just before). Is that relevant ? Could this have drained the backup battery and that's the reason that it won't boot now ?? please help...

hello there..i've also got the same problem....i've download he rom update software from 02 uk...after install in my exec...and hard reset..it hang in the boot screenn...

i've also got the same problem...i've update the rom after dwnloas the rom software update from o2 uk....after suceesfull install to my exec...i've hard reset as per instruction.....but..it just hang in the boot screen mode...

... what's the "bootloader mode" ??... (it's not documented in the user guide, is that a sequence after pressing 2-3 buttons together or something like that ?)
Put the Universal in bootloader mode by pressing Power + Light + Reset, which brings up an un-backlit screen with "Serial" at the top, and "v0.XX" at the bottom. (A lot of people get an error message if they are not in bootloader mode. They can install the ROM a second time. If you are in bootloader mode, you won't get an error message.)

dear kumar..i've tried for a few times...eventually i've tried to reinstall using the old rom..but its still hang....
i've contact o2 custpmer support ..they asked me to send it to the service centre...then i ask how to send and the charge would be (eventully i'm in malaysia right now) but they ask me to call the service and warranty centre personnally..
i've called them but the line was so bad and can't hear them clearly. Even so i've given my email address for them to email me their correct address for me to sent it..and their email address for me to communicate..but until now..no news....
please help me sir!!!

What ROM did you guys flash? My suspicion is rising that one of the new AKU3.2 ROMS is the culprate, and that there is something wrong with one of them.

hi.. i had installed WM6 on my o2 exec, i dont know why but had some signal issues with it, so i tried to roll back to 1.30 from the official O2 site... 1st time i tried to update, the PDA got reset just at the begining of the checking process... i tried again 2nd time this timed it just died.. now hard reset as well as the bootloader both just get stuck at the same damn screen "Seria" on top and "1.00" at the bottom.. i've kept the piece on charging for several hours now... no matter what i do, nothing happens.. just the same screne for hrs and hrs and hrs.. i removed the battrey and put it back... stil the same screen... someone pls advice... its just breaking my heart..
trouble with rom update
Like Acer, my device has a trouble with the rom too. In this case, I'm trying in bootloader mode but the rom doesn't instal. The first screen shows only the rom which is going to upgrade and when instalation finishes nothing was upgraded. Can you help me?

Now, my Uni cannot boot at all

I do not know how, but now my Uni work again
and now, I install Pdaviet 2.10.10
It's working now .....
I had the same problem, i had to send it to the O2 repair canter, they fixed it, but was returned with out the up grade, now im afraid to re-try.

Got the same problem here after using PDAVIET...
No upgrade working
This happens with the uni sometimes regardless of rom. Remove the battery wait 5 minutes enter bootloader and reflash. If it doesnt work reflash again just the CE os rom. It will kick out in one of those. It usually helps to flash to operator stock rom first then back to wm6 or cooked WM5. (You have not hurt the device, the uni is a picky girl but always comes back

Hi bro, hold on the voice-dail button (record button), & hold the power button at the sametime. then wait several seconds, you'll get the multi-color screen.
now it's time to plugin the usb for upgrading or recovering.
I met the problem that it always failed when the progress was 3%. i downloaded several roms from internet. how could i know which rom is correct for my device(p800 in China). Besides, my device could just enter the boot mode, so it's impossible to unlock spl for it.
and The worst thing is that there are several hours(not minutes) between each time to power on it. It means i should wait 1 or 2 or 3 hours (who the hell know) to re-flash it after i was failed to flash previously.
is anybody had the same experience. that's really make me crazy.

you've removed the microSD, right?
If yes, did you try with the original ROM for the P3300?
p800=p3300, but i'm not 100% sure...

I have the same problem with my P3300.
The problem is that the phone do not start and I cant put in the cooked rom because I did not make the Uspl when it was still alive.
Is it possible to USPL the rom also if is not connected whit activesync?

I had the original ROM, but now the phone is broken, if I try to switch it on the system go in crash in few seconds.
i tried to put in in bootloader mode (colored screen), but i can not load in ROM because the process crash when is at 3%, can I USPL the ROM from the sd card or when is off?

Are you sure that have you removed the SD card when you flash?

For all those seeking the 2 magic steps of how to fix your bricked i780:
(1) Download the LOADER: http://www.mediafire.com/?agoddxiwtgq
(2) download the ROM (in this case, the English ROM) - http://www.mediafire.com/?mtmxr1dxzz5
put them both in the same directory and extract both files.
Run the loader, and push 'PDA' and it will select the ROM.
Plug in the USB / sync cable
Push 'detect'
Switch your phone on and the software will immediately start uploading the ROM.
When its complete, unplug the cable and switch the phone on.
Thats it! There you go! Fixed phone! No need to send it to Samsung!

This worked and I tested with my bricked i780. Thanks very much for the poster and the people whose contributed on this.
Please take note of the following:
- Your machine must have ActiveSync installed. I suggest you to disable USB sync option.
- You need to have the i600 modem driver installed. Do a search on Google - it can be easily found. Your Windows should recognize your phone as i780 immediately when it is power on.
- Follow the steps above, if the program didn't upload the ROM 1st time, do a reset by using the reset hole, and once the phone is restarted, the program will upload the ROM immediately.

Can you describe details on how windows detect the phone? My PC detected the phone but I failed to install the driver software. Also, you didnt mention about emergency mode, should I turn on the phone normally or switch to emergency mode? Thank you!

i got a samsung s 5230 (toco lite), and it is stuck on phone lock when i turn it on.
is there a way,where i connect it to usb to get the code with a program.
or if i hold down ( down volume,camera,power button) the phone turns on,it wont go to the down load screen/ unless i am doing it wrong?? so i dont know if i can re flash this phone.

you forget pattern/pin or what ? the easy way is to flash again by Odin
keep things as simple as possible I suppose you do not have important data on phone if so just flash again !

-flash again by Odin check if you can enter recovery/download mode by keys
-when your phone is starting you should see a samsung/android logo this is botloader image..if you can't see it phone is bricked it means bootloader is affected and you need service tools to repair bootloader
never flash it without checking battery status at least 50% and use a laptop on battery to avoid power surge problems
Samsung s5230 is run properiatly os so you cannot use odin, but you can use mulitloader program to flash stock firmware to your phone.

I found THE solution of our problem man !!!!!
I found it !
I assume you have already Flash Tools and One Touch Upgrade 1.8.2
Step 1 : Download the file '2.3.5_Europe.zip' (file attachement)
Step 2 : Open Flash Tool
- Option --> Check USB MODE
- Option --> Backup Restore NVRAM --> Check Backup --> .....
- Scater-loading File --> "MT6573_Android_scatter.txt" (in 2.3.5_Europe)
- Click DOWNLOAD
Step 3 : Wait up to the end.
When it's finished, open One Touch Upgrade and do an Upgrade
It works very well now !!

I have a 918d with android 2.3.5.
Your zip file is named "2.3.5_Europe.zip", does this mean that preloader and dsp_bl in this file are from android 2.3.5?
The reason I ask is that I dont seem to be able to 'read back' preloader and dsp_bl from a working phone (with SP Flash Tool), something wrong wih the file header in both files.
So it would be nice if I can use your preloader and dsp_bl...

I you use it, don't forget to use One Touch Upgrage after.
I used it for my OT 918 (without m/n/d) and it worked very well.

I still wonder why I cant extract a valid preloader and dsp_bl from my working phone, did you extract them with SP Flash Tool?
I compared your preloader and mine and they are completely different.

I assume you have already Flash Tools and One Touch Upgrade 1.8.2
Step 1 : Download the file '2.3.5_Europe.zip' (file attachement)
Step 2 : Open Flash Tool
- Option --> Check USB MODE
- Option --> Backup Restore NVRAM --> Check Backup --> .....
- Scater-loading File --> "MT6573_Android_scatter.txt" (in 2.3.5_Europe)
- Click DOWNLOAD
Step 3 : Wait up to the end.
When it's finished, open One Touch Upgrade and do an Upgrade
It works very well now !!

Hey dude I used your method to flash my Alcatel One Touch 918N with 2.3.6 Gingerbread but now the phone is not booting. Earlier it was just rebooting in loop. Please give any solution. :crying:

i think you need to update using the update manager, not tried it myself coz my phone has never had that problem..
my bro got the alcatel ot918 but its sim-network locked, will flashing the rom again get rid of it?
got no much experience with alcatels!

Ok well first off i would tell you to charge your phone for a hour or two, then try to boot to Recovery Mode, power + volume up, load a custom rom for your device, then use alcatel's upgrade software tool to update back to stock rom. This worked for my 918 Mix (without d/m/n).
A custom rom for the 918 is the Gingerblaze, you can google it, its gingerbread 2.3.5 so you will be upgraded by alcatel's servers to 2.3.6.

I thought I also bricked by phone and almost gave up. After flashiing 2.3.5_europe it wouldn't even power on. Not even to recovery. No activity at all when pressing the power switch. So I tried to do an OTU using v1.8.2 and the OTU successfully completed. After that, ok na!

Tried OTU using 1.8.3 to no avail. Any other solutions?
No need otu u just needed ah custom room just put into you sdcard and goto recovery install from sdcard.. tjen wait until finish and done

Alcatel One Touch 918 Bricked/Not Powering after Root
I had Alcatel One Touch 918 with android 2.3.6 on it and tried to root It. It installed, but stuck at booting, at the android logo.Then i tried to restore, using first the partial backup that i did, then with "Smart Phone Flash tool".I did a format : "Auto Format Nand Flash" "Format all flash".It`s connects to the phone and it formatted.
But when i try to Download something (F9) it`s only giving error and says : "SP Flash tool error (9100)
[Android USB] Can not find USB Port.
For formatting it can find.I tried removing the battery and tring after, but it`s not working.The phone can not even power on. I tried even using one touch upgrade tool, But still says my phone has the latest ROM.Once i connect it to a PC I can here the PC detect is by the USB connect sound but doesnt show its charging. Someone help on how to recover the original ROM or even how to get my phone working

hello sir.. alcatel 918n stuck on idea logo after hard reset.. one touch upgrade is not having 918n model.. i tried connecting by 918 but its nt connecting.. help me please if possible give me ur mail id..

I 've used One-touch Upgrade but now my phone is a OT918D with a dual SIM and android 2.3.5
I have some problem with the gps. It switch off the phone.
So I want to re install the original ROM in 2.3.6
Could you help me please ?
