Premium Tablet "Bags" - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Hey guys..
Been looking around for a while now, and I'm trying to see if I can find anything like a "messenger bag" but for tablets or specifically for the Nexus 7. Here's one example i found:
http://www.sfbags.com/products/muzetto-outback/muzetto-outback.php
But I'm not quite sure I like the design of that one much. Does anyone know of any other bags like this for carrying around my Nexus 7 and other things?

I had been considering a bag just for my N7 but i also carry a 13.3 zenbook around sometimes so having a separate bag might be overkill. I see here that you were looking at a vertical bag in the 10 inch size for ipads. I have an STM Scout 2 that i used with my Asus TF101+keyboard dock that i'm quite fond of. It seems STM has a newer bag with more pockets:
STM Linear Bag
Maybe that might be a more fitting design. I find that around these sizes is the smallest you can get without looking a bit silly.

If you want to spend an outrageous amount of money on messenger bags, oberondesign.com has some .

go check out a womens purse store. no lie.

Maxpedition makes some bombproof gear, if it can stand up to regular use in bush Alaska, it can handle anything.

Your Noatak seems overloaded, lol.

For real, a bag made to fit a 7" tablet would just look like a purse. Why not just throw it into whatever bag you're currently using? Or... any bag. This thread is silly.

Sometimes it's more convenient to have something you want than have. It's like putting a iPhone in a pouch made for a note 2. It fits but not the way you want.

Think of it as you will...But I do not currently have any "bags" to place my Tablet in. I've never owned a tablet before, nor do I use any laptops. I have my Desktop and my smartphone...And my smartphone usually just goes into my pocket..And while the N7 does fit into most of my pockets, it isn't exactly ideal.
So if anything's silly...It's that you think this thread is silly.

It was, stuffed with a Patagonia Nano Puff pullover, a flask of Blanton's bourbon, a Samsung Infuse, a DT Windstopper balaclava, and some snacks, in addition to what it normally carries.
Usually it just carries my lunch and the emergency field gear.
Looking into a Plan B from Hazard 4:

Swissgear Vertical Travel Bag
I use the SwissGear Vertical Travel Bag. I don't know if Target still carries them or not, but this is a great bag. You will want a case on your N7 as it does not have much padding. I can just fit my Asus Tf300T with a case and my N7 in this bag with several accessories. I bought it a few years ago, so it may be hard to find.

(Q) Messenger bag?

I was looking for a bag to bring with me the tab, you can help me in choosing? thanks
One option is this:
http://www.amazon.com/STM-Bags-Scout-iPad-Black/dp/B004G8TY18/ref=pd_cp_e_1
66 views and no response, I guess you're not using a bag to take you behind the tab
That's the bag I had wanted, but $51 is more than I'd like to spend.
I ended up settling on this:
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-VNA-216-16-Inch-Attache/dp/B0034UCMJA/ref=dp_cp_ob_a_title_2
The Tab 10.1 (with Samsung slip-case) fits perfectly into the front pocket and I still have enough room for two Softcover binders (I'm a student) and any accessories in the main compartment.

I've found a couple that look ok.
The Brenthaven Switch and the Booq Boa Push.
They're both designed for the iPad but I would imagine the slight difference in dimensions shouldn't be an issue.

The Brenthaven Switch approaches to the model I have in mind, perhaps it is too small on the front (I speak of the pocket)

I bike with my 10.1 all the time; I just use a Patagonia Half Mass (http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/half-mass-messenger-bag?p=48315-0-252) which has a little laptop sleeve inside. Not specifically designed for tablets, but it does the job. They have a smaller version, Mini Mass, that may fit a tablet more snugly: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/minimass-shoulder-bag?p=48266-0-425
I bought one on eBay - I'm really happy with it.

I'm also looking for a bag for my Tab but more of the backpack style. I work outdoors so it would need to be able to hold my tab securely in its own compartment, my lunch box/bag, extra clothes, and safety gear. Has to be large, 25-30 liter capacity should do. But what I'm really looking for is for it to have a dedicated secure pocket to house my tab. I've come across the Thule Crossover bags which look like what I need. A lil steap in price so i Just want to weigh my options before I make any purchases. Let me know if you've come across anything like what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Hey Guys,
For what its worth I currently use a padded slip from Swiss Gear that I got at Walmart for around $14.99 which fits the tab great. It has a front zipper for cleaning cloth, headphones, etc.
Below is picture of it (one on the bottom). Sitting on top of it is an portable harddrive case I bough recently for the humor factor as its a mini-me of the case for the tab:
I use a crumpler style bag to lug my android tablets.

Hey guys, a little OT but I'm glad this thread came up because I have no idea where to post this question.I have a canvas bag from Gap that looks like this that I absolutely love to carry my stuff around in. However, it's just regular canvas with hardly any protection at all. Currently I have my Tab in a PyroSkins Clip Case but that's it.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to permanently incorporate a protective sleeve into the bag so that it would be the same as messenger bags with built in laptop/tablet sleeves. So you open it up and see attached to the back wall something like this (or something as delicious as this find on Etsy).
I don't have enough money to buy a new bag but i could see this being a cheap workaround. Plus I love the bag I use already. Thanks!

wow, I couldn't imagine having the SGS2 on my arm working out. Thing is huge! I always laugh when I see dorks at the gym with their phones attached to their arms. Get a mp3 player. Plus, arm bands usually max out at 17-18". Don't fit me.
Not to be rude, but if you actually worked out and didn't just go for show...then you would know that having a phone , especially one the size of ours makes NO sense to use in the gym or out running. Go buy a sansa clip or something of the sort. It would prob cost as much as a armband case for this beast anyways.

Look up the Tune Belt AB85 on Amazon, that's the one you want if you want to run w/ the TPU case still on the phone.
I have the Tune Belt AB84 and use it many times a week w/ my T-Mo SGSII, but the AB84 won't fit the device w/ a case on it at the same time.
Great case, I run in the rain here in Seattle, it fits well and is very comfy to run with. Touch screen works great through the plastic cover on the case.
I used a tune belt for about a year, which my GS2 fit in. However it drove me nuts how it would build up with moisture on the inside causing me to not be able to see the screen. I switched to the ArmPod http://www.amphipod.com/products/holders/music/-electronics/armpod and love it. I know it shows the iPhone only in it, however it fits our phones as well.

It's replies like this that are useless. If you have to start your reply to his question with 'not to be rude...' then you're being rude.
The SGSII is lighter than the iPhone4 and works just fine in an arm-band. Why should anyone buy a separate MP3 player when:
A) The phone they have works great as a music player (especially w/ Spotify or Rdio)
B) The phone they have can track their run/bike with GPS. (and you can get a heart-rate monitor if you like)
C) They may take a phone anyway if they're running in the dark or a not-so-nice area.
D) An arm-band is all of $20. Show me a $20 16gb MP3 player...
...you get the picture. The SGSII is fine for running.

Unique accesory for cooling down your phone or yourself

I noticed the other day when I was playing n64oid and fpse with sixaxis contoller app using MHL to HD adpater. Since the phone is charging and displaying on the tv as well as running 2 apps it gets pretty hot.
So I started looking for a portable fan that i could set behind my phone why using the kickstand on the case to blow some cool air on it. As well as keep me cool
I finally found the smallest fan ever and has really good reviews.
(click picture for where to buy)
I will update this with how it works when I get it...if it doesn't work that well then I will still use it as a portable fan.
Yes I know you can underclock but you don't want to when you are playing emulators that need lots of power!!!
Yes you can kill apps but never liked doing that....
Just thought I share in case someone had the same thought I did.
I don't think a tiny little fan could really cool down your phone too much, nor keep you cool.

Haha, people will make anything to make a buck or two. If my phone begins to get a bit toasty, I usually just take it out of the case and lay it on a cool surface for a bit. That seems to do the trick and it's free, lol.

I found a flat heatsink that could possibly be made into a back cover, but we would ideally still need some way to solidly connect it to the hot parts of the SoC. It would involve breaching the plastic "firewall" of the housing, and replacing it with a short section of copper plate (i.e. a penny). Using a little thermal compound would make it even more effective at removing heat.
Can you picture this with a cutout for the camera pod?
On the liquid cooling front, I found some USB powered water pumps and cooling block.... If your Gnex is getting this hot, you might have a problem.
Hold the phone! This is much closer to the size we need. Peltier coolers work on thermocouple effect. It might use a little power, but will actually reduce temperature on one side, by a few degrees!
You could buy a mini fridge, then drill a hole in the front for wires:silly:
You can then also have cold drinks whilst playing your n64 games

I have been looking at these and whilst I think it's great they are so slim I am a little concerned that if I remove the Note the back will be covered in the glue? Can anyone who has one please confirm? Thanks.
Mature name of the thread... not. Ask your dad to buy one for you and let us know what you think.
That's why I love xda. Is it wrong to find out if someone out there owns one and what its like. I don't mean ripoff money wise. I mean copy of crapple smart cover. Im not a kid and my dad is dead btw thanks. In the one video it shows them remove it from the sticky and show it won't stick to the case. So I'm not sure what it would do to the tablet pretty much why I asked.

I'm just looking for something slim that will protect the Note against scratches while I wait for a better case. On the video it looks like magnets are used to lock the cover in closed position... I would have prefered an elastic band instead and not having the cover wrap around the edge to the back side.
Well well... we'll se what it's like when I get it.

Here's a video review of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ymHTmbXGc
Personally however I prefer the bezel to be covered (even better protection).

I tried the Belkin case in the store. Feels very cheap and flimsy, especially for the price.

Ok, well then it must be very different from the iPad version which I think has very nice quality. If by flimsy you mean the opposite to stiff well then that's a good think imho.

So you guys are going to (semi) permanently glue your Note's to a case?
"Magic tape -- allows adhesive to the device firmly and removal the device hassle-freely without any mark of glue."
Yeah, no.
Ugh... this doesn't look good at all!!

So now we know that magnets really should be avoided on cases for the Note 10.1. As I wrote in an earlier post I would have preferred an elastic strap instead.

Picked up an alternate way to carry my N72013.. a holster bag!

I got this a week ago. I love the slim design of the N7, and REALLY hated the one smart flipcase I got on ebay. It made the N7 heavier, bulkier, and more unwieldy.
I had seen these a year or so ago, and have some vision issues, so I need to carry several pairs of eyeglasses with me.
I looked in my bookmarks, pulled this up, and the grabbit is a perfect solution for me!
The front leg pocket easily holds my galaxy s3 so I can tether, and they also hold 2 pairs of eyeglasses.
The large pocket has no zipper, so there is nothing to scratch the tablet, and because it has both a Velcro closure and a snap strap, the tablet is safe n secure. Because of its location, there is also no twist stress put on the tablet.
There aren't the cheapest things at $25 a pop, but I got both left and right for about $50 shipped, and the seller even included the expansion straps for waist and legs. (The waist fits up to 43" or so.)
I don't need the expansions, but it was nice of him to offer them.
You could easily put a ps3 game controller in the left large pocket if you wanted on the go gaming on the tablet, and there are plenty of pockets to carry things like bt headsets, a charger cord and the like.
I'm still on the hunt for a VERY slim smartcase with a front cover, but this will suit me fine for now.

Not sure if serious

That looks pretty tactical. Glad you found a case that fits your needs. This would be good for surveyors, hikers, or even park use

For a slim smart cover, have you looked at the Moko UltraSlim? I bought the UltraSlim in all white, but they offer a wide variety of colors. I absolutely love mine, and haven't used my eBay folio case since I received the Moko.

Yep, semi serious. We hike a lot, and go bike riding as well, so something like this just made sense. I'm tired of fanny packs, and if I just use the left or right side, it adds JUST enough space to carry all my crap.
Plus I'd rather have it than a man purse.
Why do you need a tablet when you go hiking or biking?

We use mytracks to record out hikes and share them on facebook, and for later reference. Since my tablet gets MUCH better battery than my phone, I tether to the phone, and then use the tablet for the main device.
The main point though, is to have one easy to use carrying device for all my out n about things.. shopping, outdoor stuff, ect.
I was diagnosed diabetic a number of years ago, and that created some very wonky vision issues. I need at least 2 pairs of glasses with me at all times, and the tablet is much easier to read than even the large screen on my galaxy s3.
I've broken more pairs of reading glasses than I can mention pocketing them, and having three pairs of glasses hanging off your t shirt neck looks like hell.
This bag solves all my personal mobile storage issues, without some man purse thing handing off my neck, or having something in my hands at all times.
This holster is awesome You can even carry a gun inside :good:

I'm pretty sure you put a CCW and tablet, ammo. This would be a good Tactical team bag. Some use optic finders for certain situation. For the price this is a nice bag.

They make a more heavy duty deluxe version, but that's more expensive, and has a zipper on the tablet sized pocket, which could potentially scratch it.
Get a fanny pack.

I hate fanny packs. They can't be worn in a car, and you can barley fit a tablet in them. Plus they have metal zippers which can scratch tablets.
I have a fanny pack, and do use it for hiking for carrying emergency and food stuffs, as well as our drink bottles, but that's unacceptable for day to day shopping and such.
"In tonight's news, tech savvy man tazed by police while trying to reach for a tablet to ask for directions and was thought to be drawing a weapon, more at 10"
I totally would use this, along with my Runnur Bandolier that i already wear to carry my camera and laptop accessories.
