[MOD] Increase Over all Sound Volumes CM10.2 (10/20/13) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

ok I found the original thread over here by eheinzeiii pertaining to the verizon variant of the s3. this gave me a overall direction to search. so i did. what we have below is a modified system file that will increase your over all volumes on your sprint cm10.2 driven s3. follow details below for installation. as i have already done the work and edited the appropriate sections of the file to achieve the increases.
installation instructions.
Download any root explorer. in the demonstration pictures i am using root explorer.
next download the attached file below.
navigate to system /etc / snd_soc_msm
inside here you will find the same file you downloaded snd_soc_msn_2x.
copy or move the downloaded file to overwrite the original file in this location.
next we make sure permissions are mirrored to the original as picture below illustrates.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
next we wanna make sure ownerships are also mirrored to the original file as illustrated below.
After you are sure all permissions and ownership files are reflecting the original overwritten file. go ahead and reboot to recovery. (a reboot works Just what i do) once in recovery wipe cache & dalvik cache. go to advanced fix permissions. reboot. enjoy a louder overall cm10.2 experience.
please note on the attached file i had to add the .zip extension to allow attachment to forum. jusr download then delete the .zip extension or use android file link below

I should probably ask in the ROM thread but is it known if this will work in LiquidSmooth 2.10 ROM?
I think it's CM-based...

It worked for me on Liquid,slim rom, and now on carbon no problems on any of the 3 so far working great

For whatever reason, the android link isn't working. Say's no mirrors found.

hi, i make it past the Driver recognization, and it gets to the screen that has all the different options, but when i click flash recovery, it pulls up the menu that says click "ok" to execute, i click "ok" and nothing happens.... any help? has this happened to anyone else?
That proves you didn't read my instructions It was a test and you failed young padawan. You left click and it shows the instructions and at the end of the instructions it will tell you to right click to start the process.

So I tried going back to stock, click on it, followed the instructions, I've used Odin before so no problems there....got to the part where it was downloading the stock tar file and it stopped, message at the bottom of the screen on Odin was "stock.tar file MD is invalid"....something along those lines. Any clue anyone? :/ Thanks
Try renaming the file STOCK.tar.md5, let me know if that works.

Yes this is done when flashing to stock.
I don't think that flashing to stock recovery by itself is something I am going to include, because someone somewhere will flash it when they have an ICS Rom on there device and then blame me lol.
Plus I didn't see any flashable ones, but I didn't look for it either...
I tried going to stock several times and it puts phone in download mode and then pops up error saying
Cannot create file "C:\Users\Desktop\SGSllToolkit\ROM\STOCK\T989UVKL1_HOME_SGH-T989user_CL799405_REV00.tar/md5". The system cannot find the path specified.
Any ideas?

I don't think so. All I see is the recovery.tar.md5.
I was having this same exact issue with v1.4, deleted it and downloaded v1.7 and still the same issue. Even deleted v1.7 once and had it download all again and still a no go.

I've been playing with it since I found it on the S3 forum earlier on Slim ICS and it works but if you exit and then go back into it you get S-Voice is not responding. If you clear data it's all good to go again so it's fun to play with. It'll probably work better on Samsung ROM's but was surprised when I managed to use it to call home and was going to text my mum as a test.

It probably has some missing dependencies which is why it isn't speaking responses. I don't have the issue with taking too long between commands but as I said in my first post, it doesn't like being closed and opened again for a second time on mine.

[Modem/Baseband] TMO GS3 UVLH2 Flashable Radio

ONLY FLASH IF YOU HAVE T-MOBILE
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Disclaimer:
Flashing radios is among the most dangerous thing we can do to our devices. If you flash any of these on your AT&T, Sprint, Wind etc., you're very likely to brick your phone. While I have tested this file, you flash at your own risk. Again, this is T-Mobile only.
Flash this file from CWM recovery:
TMOGalaxyS3UVLH2Modem.zip
Mirror - TMOGalaxyS3UVLH2Modem.zip - 19.57 MB
This flash does backup your original modem.bin
Flash this file from CWM recovery:
TMOGalaxyS3RestoreModem.zip - 418.93 KB
***Note: Though it doesn't have to be at the root of the card, this zip should be placed somewhere on your internal SD card (aka /sdcard) as well otherwise it may not see the modem.backup file.***
If everything works, you'll see a progress bar during the flashing process. Don't see a progress bar? Then the radio hasn't been flashed.
If you flashed the TMOGalaxyS3UVLG1Modem.zip twice and lost the original backup modem here it is...
Download and move to /data/media overwrite existing. The change permissions to rw-rw-rw
Now flash the TMOGalaxyS3RestoreModem.zip to return to the original modem.
T999UVALEM Modem Backup
modem.backup - 60.00 MB

im also throttled at 5gb right now and my speed sucks........

If I have some time this weekend, I'm going to try it. But first I have to get TWRP and root going,, lol
I'm going to try and contact TBO for some more info on it also.
UPDATE: Heard back from one of the TBO devs already. I asked if it would work on a Pixel running 7.1.1
"Backup, flash it and see. Not sure you'll have any issues but should be fine."
I know, not a whole lot to go by, but at least I heard back, and pretty quickly , heh

Cool. Let us know... Maybe make a better video, too.
Another user chimed in with this:
"TBO's PixelLauncher works just fine with my Pixel on 7.1.1. The zips don't flash to the right location, though, so you may be better off extracting the APK and manually moving it to /system-root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt with a root file manager. I renamed the existing apk first in case of problems. You will need to set permissions on the new apk.
I recommend having a second launcher installed in case things go south. I'm hearing mixed results with restores from TWRP.
You don't need the wallpaper app."

--->
Thanks for doing that Mental!
But what finally ended up making it work was:
Extracting the APK and manually moving it to /system-root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt, rename it to NexusLauncherPrebuilt.apk and setting the permissions, like the original one, with a root file manager.
First I renamed the original one with a .old on the end, as a precaution.

What's unique about this launcher?
Same as stock but transparent with a dark tint.
Any way to get the coloured G logo on the homescreen back?

Thanks for doing that Mental!
But what finally ended up making it work was:
Extracting the APK and manually moving it to /system-root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt, rename it to NexusLauncherPrebuilt.apk and setting the permissions, like the original one, with a root file manager.
First I renamed the original one with a .old on the end, as a precaution.
