Pixel Launcher Transparent Dark from TBO - Google Pixel Themes, Apps, and Mods

Just wondering if anyone has tried this yet?
It's the only thing I would like to change on my Pixel, for now

That it is. I'd like to see something less terrible and more informative.

If I have some time this weekend, I'm going to try it. But first I have to get TWRP and root going,, lol
I'm going to try and contact TBO for some more info on it also.
UPDATE: Heard back from one of the TBO devs already. I asked if it would work on a Pixel running 7.1.1
"Backup, flash it and see. Not sure you'll have any issues but should be fine."
I know, not a whole lot to go by, but at least I heard back, and pretty quickly , heh

Cool. Let us know... Maybe make a better video, too.

Another user chimed in with this:
"TBO's PixelLauncher works just fine with my Pixel on 7.1.1. The zips don't flash to the right location, though, so you may be better off extracting the APK and manually moving it to /system-root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt with a root file manager. I renamed the existing apk first in case of problems. You will need to set permissions on the new apk.
I recommend having a second launcher installed in case things go south. I'm hearing mixed results with restores from TWRP.
You don't need the wallpaper app."

I modded the install script. Here you go.
Obviously this is all Team Blackouts work. Not mine.

Thanks for doing that Mental!
But what finally ended up making it work was:
Extracting the APK and manually moving it to /system-root/system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt, rename it to NexusLauncherPrebuilt.apk and setting the permissions, like the original one, with a root file manager.
First I renamed the original one with a .old on the end, as a precaution.

What's unique about this launcher?

Same as stock but transparent with a dark tint.

Any way to get the coloured G logo on the homescreen back?

CM Stock Dialer + Smart Dialing

I found this somewhere and finally pushed it. It is the standard ICS Dialer, but now with Smart Dialing FINALLY!
I used Root Explorer.
Rename /system/app/Contacts.apk to Contacts.apk.bak
Copy new Contacts.apk to /system/app
Set Permissions the same as the old Contacts.apk (rw-r--r--) [screenshot below]
Reboot
Requires Root (and RootzBoat 4.0.3 rom?)
Something tells me it was the custom CM9 dialer. So if this is an issue I can remove the links.

It works a treat, thank you.

Time to figure out what I did wrong ... renamed original file, pasted new file in folder and fixed permissions (all using Root Explorer) ... rebooted and had no dialer or contacts app at all ... hmm
Did you set permissions correctly? Should look like this
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Yeah I followed those instructions exactly and same thing happened to me, is this only for 4.0.3?
Yes, my permissions looked the same as well
Bad luck for me to

I was using this on an RootzBoat AOSP 4.0.3 rom, maybe that's a reason. Have you guys tried just installing it? I also did it on a clean install.
Try:
Clearing cache from Settings>Applications
Fix Permissions
Installing it
etc
I can't see an AOSP rom being all that different from stock.
Off Topic: I think our phones can take screen shots out of the box? I think I've accidentally took a few but never figured out the correct combination of button presses. I'd like to take a few screen shots of the dialer in action. Hopefully I'm not completely out of my mind and the Nexus CAN take screenshots natively.

Thanks, updated first post. Great indirect way to finally figure out what I was really after!
This is an AWESOME feature. MUCH needed. Plus saves me from downloading an alternative. I hope Google implements this into all of their stock dialer builds.
If this does require a custom rom, then I'd say its work it. I'm using RootzBoat which is pretty much pure stock. Doesn't feel any different then when I was on stock 4.0.2.
Worked first time on AOKP. Very nice, thank you for sharing.
Does not work on ARHD 2.1.1, possible because it's 4.02. Moved and set permissions correctly. Oddly enough, if I try to straight up install it it says "there is a problem parsing this package."

I then copied this file over to my sd card, pushed it to sys/app and then rewrote the permissions, rebooted, and FINALLY HAVE THE DARK THEMED VVM!!! SystemUI mods for SM-T815 Deodex AOJ4

Hi,
There are some sweets for deodexed aoj4:
1. 3minit battery mod.
I think everyone knows what does that mean,so no screenshots needed.
Download from Mega
2. Wide notification panel with 10 quick settings buttons
Looks same as stock, but screen wide. Quantity of quick settings buttons increased to 10. See screenshots from next point, looks same, but with stock colors.
Download from Mega
3. Wide notification panel with 10 quick settings buttons, black color.
I really don't like stock colors, more over Amoled displays don't like white color for energy saving. That was the reason for me to make dark themed notification panel(sound volume panels also dark).

Disable ADM in galaxy Tab S2 T815Y
Any ideas as to disable android device manager completely? not just turning it on and off in google settings or settings.
Hi, is there any chance that it will be working on t715?
Flashed the 3rd one and it gives me system ui stopped working
Flashed your deodexed zip to remove it.
Do you think its because I'm using google now launcher or its something else I should look for

Sorry for late reply.I had no internet access for some period.
I don't think that the reason for stopping is launcher.Look for another reason like some tweaks for SystemUI.

The only man who can answer your question is You.
Unfortunatelly I don't have 810 on hands and cann't test it.
Just make full back up with TWRP and flash required zip. You will see the result and then make a post in this thread so I will add 810 to topic.
Thank you.
Since you already figured out how to change the cot on this version of systemui, care to give me a little help on which values to modify on my t715? I spent all night yesterday on trying to get this to work but I apparently did something wrong.
/system/privapp/systemui/systemui.apk/ is correct, right? Other versions of touch wiz seem to use the drawable-xxhdpi folder, but I can only find that in /vendor/.
I'd just use your apk but I can't afford a broken system today because I have finals in a couple days and I shouldn't even be making this post actually.
katakis1,
First of all you should make your system deodexed.
/system/privapp/systemui/systemui.apk/ is correct, right?
That is correct. But you need to decompile this file to make changes like it was made in my modds.
Unfortunatelly I cannot write complete how-to because of lack of time. But you can find these how-to's on xda-forum.Just use search. Find any how-to concerning tweaks or color changes of systemui.apk for any popular Samsung model(I was using how-to from S5,S6 and Note 4).
3rd option gave error: systemui stopped working. No mods installed, only deodexed.

Android O Emojis - Substratum

Hey guys! Got bored today and made something I think some of you will like.
I'm sure you have seen the thread by linuxct and how he got the O emojis working on Nougat.
I had some issues with that for 2 reasons.
I don't use Magisk.
I didn't want to flash, in case it did not work, and because I may want to go back.
So I created this, a Substratum "theme" that replaces the stock emojis with the O emojis.
The APK is attached, and there are pictures below.
Thanks!

Yeah, it does, that's the only downside to this that I saw.
Hello there. DP4 has seen small changes to some of the emoji. Grinning face being one of them. Would you be updated your substratum APK?
There's a litte workaround to get emoji and not font, just extract a file called "NotoColorEmoji.ttf" from "/system/fonts" of ODP4 and put it in your Nougat same folder, replace file, if it doesn't automatically set correct permission than manually set -rw-r--r-- (644) and reboot.
Done.

Thank you for this. Takes me back to the good old days of my Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks for this greate and funny bootanimation
In my opinion You could add .zip of generic boot animation, so we can come back if we wish to.
Second thing would be version of oxygen, instead 10.3.2 You could use 10 or 10.x.x. as 10.3.3 is on most of devices now days.
Third suggestion is to ditch the last android boot, and stay with the screen where "activating root access" is on wait for longer. At the end showing "have a nice day"
Thank You for Your work.

I assume like any other boot animation zip, this must be containing the images which are displayed. Open the zip file & you modify the image files as you like But you'll be needing the exact same font.
Sent from my #FlagshipKiller3T using Tapatalk
It was working well on OOS and AOSPA but not working on evo ex rom. What could be the reason.
Edit: Got it working with some modification to the zip. Its due to a different implementation of how bootanimation work in many custom roms on dark mode.

This .zip file is not for flashing, you just need to copy it to the /system/media (in some roms /system/product/media) folder, but to do this, you have to use a filemanager with root-permissions.
Where is the download link?
* Edit: Found it nevermind
