looking for Z1 bumper/cover, with all buttons exposed - Xperia Z1 Accessories

looking for Z1 bumper, with all buttons exposed + magnetic connector exposed.
Flips closed under the bumper (if I want to open them, I need to take off the bumper).
The closed flips helps keep the flips closed all the time.
Cover that answers my requests will be good as well...
10x

+1 Don't need all those connectors as I do most things wirelessly nowadays. Opening/closing those flaps will eventually break them off. Had a few friends with this on their Zs.

Try Nillkin hard case for Xperia Z1. All buttons and flaps are exposed except the flap for Sim card. It perfectly fits and has a great feel.

I received it a few days ago. The case was too thick even for the casing adaptor for the DK31. Also, the magnetic charger (taken out from the dock) doesn't fit in (hangs out a little) and is quite loose with the casing on.

Adding to what was said, it also blocks the second microphone, used for basically everything besides calls (discovered that while using Shazam, it never worked with the case on).

Does the case mate barely there fit in the dock dk31??

Thin Cover Like iPad

Looking for some help. I've looked in many many places but haven't found a cover like the magnetic cover iPad users have. Is there such a cover for the Note 10.1? Looking for the thinnest cover I can find.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
The thinnest cover will still be thicker than the iPad because we don't have the magnetic hinge that would allow only the front cover..
The Samsung cover is remarkably thin, but doesn't stay closed.
There are several trifold covers that have a back that then clips onto the corners of the table with a cut out for the pen., several ship from Hong Kong. Some on eBay, some on Amazon.com the stock is constantly changing.
I ended up getting one that is advertised ads unless thin by mistake. It uses an adhesive to stick to the back of the pad. I really DON'T like that. It also makes removing the pen difficult. Plus it doesn't have a slot to charge the tab without opening the cover. I had to cut one.
It has a fold over flap so that it doesn't open accidentally, but the cover is very floppy. I've only been using it a few weeks, but it just doesn't feel that solid.
In the end I'll probably go with a knockoff Samsung if I can find one that stays closed.

Agree with the above...the thinnest and sexiest is probably the Samsung magnetic book cover. I wasn't fond of it at first, but I've been using it over my i-Blason lately (which is also very nice but is no where near as thin). Lack of magnet to hold cover closed is really not an issue for me. If I am holding it it stays shut.

Guess I'll go for the Samsung cover .. hope it stays closed.
If you're going to buy a magnetic cover you should get the samsung one. Most other ones will probably cause problems with your wacom digitizer if the magnets get too close while you're using it.
I bought the Samsung white cover for £31 on Amazon, it just finishes the look of my tablet, love it. Jim
Samsung white cover with magnets works for me, I think that it can't have a magnetic closer option because it would interfere with the Wacom digitizer.

That may be, but just one more thin flap around the back would solve that. Some of the knock offs have just that.

I have also ordered one online. The "vip" model. I am expecting it to arrive tomorrow together with the GNote 10.1. I will post pictures with the Note with the case on and off so you can evalutate if this one is ok for you or not
My Note should arrive tomorrow and i'll pretty soon get a cover for it. I really dislike Samsungs build quality, i could scratch the whole back of it in one day i guess .. Like many did with the S3. My Motorola razr i doesn't even show a scratch even if it has been dropped by my girlfriend once and i don't handle it too careful.
I think i'll go with the Samsung Diary cover. I don't want my tablet to be bulky just because the manufacturer can't use proper materials and i'm too afraid of scratching it. But the fact that it won't stay closed is a major drawback, seems like i won't get the allround case i need. I think i'll have a look if i can get the Anymode I-Band case in Germany, at least this one looks good in my opinion.

The Samsung Book Cover is about the closest to the smart cover. However I have an iPad 3 also and that smart cover is dangerous... It is really slick and if you are not really careful it will detach itself...

As in update: I received a very cheap trifold magnetic cover that I ordered off of eBay similar to this. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=200899933118&index=6&nav=SEARCH&nid=87359384600
So far it is working fine. It has magnets to keep closed and my pen works fine for drawing.
It has volume, power and charging ports and buttons exposed and you can easily remove your pen. The only thing I wanted exposed was the headphone jack, but a simple hole punch fixed that. Certainly cheap enough.
Now for the warning. The stick on cases are much worse than I expected. They are stuck on pretty much permanently, so switching cases for different activities was not possible. I do that to have a keyboard sometimes. Now the really bad part, the adhesive is strong enough that you can separate the back from the tablet if you are not careful.
I did just that. Nothing breaks, the back of the tablet it's very flexible, but it is a real bear to get back together. Let's just say I know more about the inside off the tab than I would want to this stage in the warranty.

Magnetic Case for Car Mount

Any ideas about a magnetic case, because i want to use the iMagnet car mount (amazon.com/Cradle-less-Quick-snap-Technology-Smartphone-Windshield/dp/B008IOQ3K6). Not able to post links.
Nicest option would be a (partly) magnetic case which i can just mount to the magnetic car holder. I know it comes with metal plates but how to attach them to the curved back of the One?
We can also discuss any selfmade approache here
i use the imagnet mount and i placed the metal piece between the phone and case with no problems. holds up great on the mount.
i use a bear motion case, fyi
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BVWJ9DU/
Sounds great! Doesn't the metal scratch the surface of the one or can I put something between the case+metal plate and the phone?
sorry for the late reply. it doesnt scratch it at all. no issues

Great idea, but is the case still nicely fit the phone? I can imagine that it won't clip correctly anymore because of the added thickness. If i look at my case (just a standard backover from ebay) it doesn't seem to have any room for a magnet plate. Do you have pictures maybe?
This is also (maybe more elegant) solution: click!
well yeah, the case fits fine as i use it. lol. no problems.

ELTD® PU Leather Smart Cover Case For LG G Pad 8.3 With Stand Function

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GPKONYI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Received this case on the first day of the long predicted window for delivery. Although it's marketed as ELTD, the clasp is labelled IVSO. I'm very pleased with the quality of the materials, very good fit with the hard shell, all cutouts in exactly the right place and the foldable cover has a quality feel to it, almost too stiff. Auto-wake and sleep works perfectly, and the magnetic clasp is very strong, no danger of it coming open in your bag. It's a bit tricky to find the right position for the more vertical position, turns out you have to attach the magnetic clasp to the top hinge of the case which keeps the case from lying flat over the speakers. It also needs to be on a flat surface. Can't fault the supplier either, very fast and satisfactory responses to my queries. All in all, highly recommended.

Edited to add, I'm very pleased with the IVSO case.
Build quality is great, though the case is quite weighty. The magnets are very good, there's no way the cover will accidentally open.

Yes it's sold as ELTD but the magnetic catch is labelled IVSO.
Excellent - finally, confirmation that this thing does NOT seriously block the speakers in stand mode. Also, that the more vertical stand mode actually works.
I'm gonna wait a few weeks to see if a red version will pop up - but this is a buy for me. Thanks guys for the pictures!

A review on Amazon says it did.
My ivso turned up today, mixed feelings so far.
The case certainly feels strong enough, good fit, but the metal magnetic tag is a little too big for me, it is very close to the screen when closed.
The auto sleep/wake function mode does not work correctly for me, only works when the front cover is folded round the back, no idea why??? But then the function does not work when the pin lock is in use so it is not a deal breaker for me.
The horizontal stand is also a bit hit and miss, often comes loose but i expect the fabric grooves to soften over time and i expect it will work fine.
Speakers are covered with stand horizontal but i did not bother me. Still loud enough.
If anybody wants pics let me know.

Magnetic Mount Project

Recently, I've been getting annoyed with using my Kenu Airframe/Samsung Car Mount having to keep slipping on and off buttons or pushing my mount aside to slip in my phone.
So, I've been reading about the magnetic feature in order to activate the Car Mode/Desktop Mode on our Moto X. So I attempted to build a Magnetic Car Mount this weekend.
I realized that the Moto X itself had a metal band that would activate the Car Mode, however it wasn't strong enough to hold with my Magnet, so I had to place metal plate into a case and put the phone in, which that worked flawlessly. However, the metal plate bulged everywhere so the phone wasn't nice to hold anymore.
Luckily, my dad is a welder, and I worked on molding the metal plate with him, and decided I disliked my Diztronic Frost Case (On the side note, I liked the Matte Black Best). So, I decided to cut a piece out of my Diztronic case that fit with my metal plate. So now the plate curved with the case!
I inserted the metal plate into the cut out, glued it in place, and my roughly build case with a metal plate works like a charm with my Magnetic Mount setup with my Kenu Airframe. I gotta say it's one of the nicest things not to have to fiddle with anything and just take your phone off with a quick snap. This all cost me about $5 + $25 (Which is the Airframe). I'm ordering a new case and Mountek Metal Plating to reduce the thickness hoping that I won't have to cut an insert, but we'll see in the following days. I'll update it when I receive the plates.
I went autocrossing with my car, phone mounted my magnetic mount and at speeds and curves of 60-70 MPH, this thing stuck like glue!
Very pleased overall. Hopefully some of you guys will steer clear from the Griffin Dock for our phones and custom build your own mount

Here a few, sorry they are definitely blurry. Fairly tired for the night, tried to get a quick snaps in for an idea. Can't wait when I get my kit together to make everything look professional.
The Kenu can turn 360 degrees to fit whatever direction you'd like the magnet/a device to face. It's held on your air vent.

I have been using magnetic mounts since my OG Droid. It is nice to see Moto reverted back to magnetic activation of dock mode instead of their smartdocks. I have noticed Moto has switched the polarity of the magnet's activation of car/desk dock modes from the OG Droid. I have an RND dock at home that I glued a magnet to. It automatically activates Daydream when docked. My next project is modifying the RND dock to include HDMI out and USB OTG capability.

Magnetic Car Mount

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts or has even tried these types of car mounts.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nexcon-Magn...lde-/221655676812?hash=item339bb5378c&vxp=mtr
Its magnetic so I was wondering if people thought our Nexus 5 would work with it without the metal plate they supply. Seeing as the Nexus 5 has magnets in it's back I would think the only question is if the magnets used are attracted to the ones in the Nexus 5 and the placement of the magnets. I may get one to try out but I wanted to see people's thoughts anyway.
Well as far as I am informed and seen, inside your nexus 5 are metal discs not magnets, the magnets comes in the original nexus 5 wireless charger. Hope this make it more clear, and I think they made it a bit vague so you would get it then they would simply tells you to get their magmatic cover !!!

I wasn't sure if inside the Nexus 5 are magnets or, as you say, metal disks. I know my old Palm Pre had magnets in the back of the phone for it's TouchStone charger. I actually have two of those. And the Nexus 5 actually connects with that really well. Almost like it was made for it. If these docks are similar to what the TouchStone charger is as far as magnet placement, it should work really well without that metal plate they give you. But the plate does come with it to use with a phone case just in case. So I may just put down the 10 bucks or so and see how it goes.
Cool let me know what turns out, I may kick one too off ebay
I have this one in my car http://www.amazon.com/InfiniApps-Smartphones-Cradle-less-Quick-snap-technology/dp/B00DPMNNUO/ref=sr_1_38?ie=UTF8&qid=1427845784&sr=8-38&keywords=magnetic+car+mount
It works very well, and the phone stays locked in place. It attaches to the 4 metal plates in the back cover of the Nexus 5 meant for the official Qi charger. You can't use a case though, or the magnets won't be strong enough to hold. If you do use a case (thin TPU or thin hard case only) then you will need the metal plate insert for it to work. But even still, the phone sticks way better without a case. It sticks best in vertical position, if you do landscape it needs to be centered perfectly or it will start to twist back to vertical over big bumps, it won't come off, but it will turn.
I use an nGroove Snap (http://www.amazon.com/Mountek-nGroove-Magnetic-Smartphones-Tablets/dp/B00HMDYH2U) and it works just fine even without the metal plate.

Good to know that these do in fact work without those metal plates. I thought they'd might but thanks for confirming it. I don't use a case so it should be perfect for me. I'll definitely be getting one now.
Made my own car charger. Too bad my Spigen case is too thick, so can't use it. Or I just have to risk breaking my phone by not using the case..... Dilemma...
I use kenu airframe + google Nexus qi charger = perfect solution.
I ended up buying this one and it works perfectly.

Do you need to use the included magnetic stickers? Or will it lock to the magnets inside the phone?

Nope. It works as is. And it works nicely too. If the next Nexus doesn't have magnets, I'm going to be sad.
I have another mount, I believe it's called "iMagnet" which is almost identical. After using it for the past year with my nexus 5, I have some gripes about it. It's not an incredibly solid grip, which means every bump is going to make your phone start rotating one way or the other. I like to place my phone in landscape mode but since it's in landscape mode, the phone will twist on the mount until it's touching the dash. I'll periodically move the phone back to the center of the mount while I'm driving which probably isn't safe. Ive used my phone with cases, without cases, with dbrand skins, without. The official Google "bumper" and my spigen neo hybrid are both too thick for the mount to have a good hold, so it really slides all over the place. Using a skin, doesn't affect it too much though. If I were to get another car mount I wouldn't get one of these. It's not horrible, but it just gets annoying.

I think you'll be happy with it
I have one, and I love it. I've got one of the slim Spigen cases and I put one of the metal plates between the phone and the case. I had to play with the position to make sure I could still use NFC, Qi charging, and GPS worked fine.
Now I feel super confident in my purchase. Thanks guys!
I've been happy with this one from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V54LQO4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 only $10.99.

I just received it in the mail, and the build quality seems pretty good. I just had neck surgery the other day, so I won't be able to use it for at least a few weeks. I can't wait to try it out!
