[Q] 32GB available in UK anywhere? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Anyone know if the 32GB will be made generally available in the UK? Expansys were selling some but now show only white, looking for a black myself.
Why only 16GB generally available here...?

The thing is even Expansys sell US stock, I don't think there is such a thing as a UK 32GB. I was waiting for this until I emailed Curry's and they replied saying they weren't going to sell the 32GB, so I gave up and got the 16GB and tbh its more than enough for me and I saved myself like well over a £100.
But why you ask? Because us brits aren't as important as the US in Samsung's eyes, we had no releases date, we're not getting any perks, we aint getting the 32GB version and also there's still no book covers widely available here. Samsung really pissed me off tbh but this tablet was too good not to get haha.

Thanks for the reply.
I think I may do the same and go with the 16GB. Got a 16GB Note II and the apps I use fit fine with music etc. on a card so will probably go the same way with the 10.1
Currently got an iPad (2) which is 32GB but then there's no msd card support there and, to be honest, I'm so sick of iOS7 at the moment that I'm going to unify my devices and go Android for tablet as well.
Cheers!

John Lewis have the Black 16gb for £400, I think they are the only retailer selling the black version for £400 at the minute and obviously if there's anything wrong with the tablet (which there has been a few build issues) you can easily get it exchanged unlike online shops thats why I always prefer buying electricals from physical shops due to easier exchanges.
Aye ditch Apple and come to the good side :good:

I gave up on this and took a chance by buying one in Schiphol airport a couple of weeks back. Has a 2 year warranty although returning it might be a a bit tricky! Not that I want to right now. Honestly I think the 16gb with a big sd card would have been OK but I'm not a big gamer.

Yep, I ordered a black one from John Lewis this afternoon! Pick it up on the weekend.
Aye, had my Note II for a year now and much prefer the versatility of Android. My iPad2 was doing fine until iOS7. Apart from my totally hating the cosmetic changes, it rendered my iPad slower and glitchy. They made the choice a no brainer.
Thanks again!

Been playing around with Themer the last couple of days. Only cosmetic but quite brilliant.
Sought of thing iPhone users would die for!

Seems like a genuine seller - Thats a mad deal! Surely he's made a mistake

EDIT: I emailed him and he says it is a 32GB version man thats an awesome deal! tempted to give mine back and buy that.

Thinking about getting rid of the ol' A100

I'm one of those guys that churns a lot--I always need something new to tinker/tweak-- so the lack of CWM (and ROMS by proxy) on our tabs is getting to me.
Anyway, I'll probably be putting it up on eBay and Craigslist soon. What should I ask for it?
-8gb A100 in perfect condition (and with original packaging)
- the Blurex leather case on Amazon (and as seen in the Accessories sub-forum)
- an HDMI-to-mini hdmi cable
- a 32gb micro SD.
Think I could get $300 for that package?
Should I wait 'til Acer updates it to ICS?
I think you will probably have to go lower but you can always list it at that price first specially on Craigslist cause they ALWAYS try to haggle pricing. As far as price standpoint the acer can be had for $249 at best buy, sears, and kmart online. I'm sure stores are the same. 32gb I've see go as low as $29 online. HDMI cable can be had for $10 at amazon for a 15 footer. Cases can be had for $10-20 on amazon as well.
so 249+29+10 or 20 = 290 or 300 (all new)
For the most part most dont really consider tax unless you point that out.
Damn, you're right--when'd they drop to $250 in stores??
I might just have to keep the thing.

I know it sux. I myself ended up returning the one I bought from frys black friday which cost me $275 (250+tax) and ended up buying one on craigslist for $250 just to save $25 so I wont lose so much later when I sell it. But you never know, you could get lucky and someone might not even know theyre going for 250 now.
Also at this time I don't know of any other 7 inch tablet that can compete with the a100 including its price point besides on battery life. What other tablet were you considering?

Also curious as to what other 7" tablets are out there that can compete with the A100 in terms of hardware and also have custom ROM's.

For a similar price range hes probably has to settle for a Flyer. Which I read is a great device even on single core since its running at 1.5ghtz and has custom roms and great battery life. But may not see ICS and might not multitask as well as dual core.
Oh, no other tablet on the market can touch the A100.
I just find myself reaching for my HTC Desire when I want to fritter away some time and figured I might see if I could get some money back for now and see how the tablet market looks in a year or two.
Are you in nyc I will give you 200 just for the tablet

You probably won't find a lot of ROM work right now on many devices as ICS is a short time away. A lot of devs are not using the time to work a ROM for HC only to turn around and re-work for ICS.
I had an A100 for about two weeks and truly liked the device. Returned it due to battery life, minimal internal storage and IMO very challenging viewing angles.
Got the Samsung Tab 7.0+ and must say it rocks! No ROMs yet but root and CWM available. Pricey, yes. But on track for ICS and the specs are excellent. Best 7" tab available right now IMO. But only till the Samsung 7.7 releases. The Super AMOLED display is killer from what I hear.
Just curious, where are you getting this tablet in the US for anything less then $330? BB has no stock and will not NOT let you order online. They show no date for inventory either. Amazon is the only place I found for this and the price has fluctuated in the last week between, get ready, $460 and $330. It is now at $330. Everywhere else online I try says out of stock. This tablet sells for more then its bigger brother a500.

BestBuy currently shows $249 "in stock" at my nearest store, 92691 zip code. (Out of curiosity, last week it showed in stock at multiple area stores at that price, so I guess they do move pretty quick.)
Of course, I bought mine on Black Friday for $189, getting there late morning without much of a crowd nor long lines. In fact, I went in thinking about a $200 deal on a Blackberry Playbook or Kindle Fire, but seeing the A100 for ten bucks less was a no-brainer.

Sorry man, I'm in the mid-west and not really looking to part it out (I think it makes the most sense to sell it as a package).
Mods: I really just posted this to gather information--if this has crossed the line into 'advertising,' don't hesitate to move it to the XDA Market section (or just delete it).

I've seen them go in and out of stock at local Walmarts and BestBuys for the $250 price. If some one really wanted one, a little bit of daily checking stock and willingness to drive could probably get one for $250.
You can also try craigslist.
Got mine at Microcenter in Cincinnati for $229, minus $100 gift card, $129 out the door. Best purchase of the year.
i will sell mine as well since i cant install rom on it
kinda pissed me off since acer doesnt give a flying **** about this tablet.

We've known this for several weeks now. Negri Electronics has had it on pre-order for about a month...
I had one on pre-order a few weeks ago, back when it was at $714 (estimated price) and couldn't justify the extra price (and wait) when the grey one was available for $565 a week after placing my pre-order. Even at current price its $64 more than the grey CAN model. Not sure if its worth it.
I think of it as a Grey model + Extended battery (and a few $$ to spare) or a White model. Think I'll order my battery soon.
Excellent.
My wife was going to go with the Galaxy S2 in white due to it looking more like a females device, but she loves my Galaxy Nexus so I am pretttty sure she'll give up her White iphone 4 now.

How did you pay that much just a week ago? it's been cheaper than that for a while now... Negri has had it for $595 (CAN) and $622 (Latin/UK) for like 3 weeks now.
I wonder if the grey GN will look any good with the battery cover from the white GN.
The black-grey-white combination might be nice.

That was the cheapest price I found on Amazon a week ago (US). Didn't really want to buy it anywhere else since they are pretty easy about returns and I wasn't real sure I would like the phone at the time.
Not familiar with Negri, but at least now I know I like the phone, so I think I could try them if they are trustworthy. Just have to think if I really want it in white now.
And of course even on Amazon the prices have come down a quite a bit since last week.

Well I'd trust a solid US-based importer (Negri) over some random Amazon seller (no offense, but lots of shady characters on there especially in grey market imports). Especially when its $60 cheaper . But everyone has their own comfort level.
looks pretty cool, a bit to girly for me.
I still don't understand the attraction to white cell phones. Do people look at their phones and think "I like it, but I really wish you could see the filth it's covered in more clearly..."

It was fulfilled by Amazon and I got free next day shipping. So it worked out... other than me paying about $60 more than I probably should have. haha.

Part of my decision also. I think white phones are extremely sexy, but I was worried that the smallest scratch would end up showing much easier on white, and I was worried about discoloration over time.

Of course it worked out. But other retailers work out too and offer free shipping, but they're cheaper lol. Negri even let you checkout with Amazon (I ended up choosing Google Checkout) which offers the same buyer protection. But anyways...
Personal choice. You choose where to spend your money and if the white version is worth it to you. You can't change how much you paid for the grey version now.

Just thought it was neat a white version was available now.
i hate it when companies won't release a device in its variations simultaneously. If they would have done that with the nexus so that black and white was available from the beginning i would have bought the white instead of the black one.

I think I am with you on this one. The white one looks pretty sweet and I think looks a whole lot better to me than the black/grey one. If I had a choice between the two when it was released, I probably would have considered the white one over the black one.
What happens if it chips? Is it all white plastic or is it coated like the evo was with a red freakin core that would make scratches look horrible
its freakin beautiful but their selling it for much more everywhere and im 99% always gonna have a case on it so it isnt worth it

Yes, I agree. I bought a 32gb SanDisk Micro SD last year. Received a generic brand Micro SD instead. They offered me a full refund to return it, or keep it and receive a 50% credit. After testing the SD card, the storage was 32gb as what it claimed, so I kept it and got the 50% credit.

depends if your tight on cash or anything......
It's a great phone, definitely better hardware-wise. Not sure if it justifies the cost over a Galaxy Nexus though. User experience will be fairly similar as in smooth throughout. Galaxy Nexus obv has the edge in ROMs and development, will get Jellybean sooner etc...
Battery life is worse from what I'm seeing, but camera etc...are better. Still, the camera isn't the best out there surprisingly.
Great phone if your in the market for a new one, but IMO not really justifying the switch to it from a Gnex.

Nexus 5 worth the upgrade?

So let's talk about our phone and weather it would be worth it to upgrade to the Nexus 5.
On first examination, sale prices for the GS-III unlocked on ebay (non-LTE, T999) are around $300 give or take. So if you get the 16GB N5, you pay about $30 (or $100 for the 32gb). Of course they are already out of stock for the 16gb lol.
I'm looking at it spec-wise, it beats our phone in every category except it doesn't come with a card slot, and rear camera is the same spec-wise. Also, it has LTE if you don't have the T999V.
What is everyone's thoughts? Former nexus owners, what is your opinion on Samsung/touchwiz-loaded phones vs basic android?
whoa, am I the 2nd to reply?
If it's anything like the Moto X with touchless controls I say yes!
Stay away from touchwiz, you'll flash CM in a flash (no pun intended).
that being said, stock android is more stable than CM so Nexus FTW.
If you can live without replaceable battery and sd card, I'd say go for it. A smartphone in the end, is just a smart phone. What does one really need? browser, email, dialer, texting, camera, whatsapp, gps. anything beyond that and one is getting into specifics.

Since you're selling and not buying, you could do it anywhere. But I would probably look at Swappa first.
I'm not selling mine, at least not right away. First production runs usually have problems. Having a usable backup will preserve my sanity.
I believe the Nexus 5 is worth the upgrade and I am glad I passed up on the N4.
At one point I was considering selling my GNexus at the time for the N4
but I agree with Aerowinder said having a usable backup is a + for me.
I'm going to wait until early early 2014 until I order a N5, wanna get a plasma and PS4 first

It's a phone! How much multitasking can you accomplish to need that much RAM for?
But yes, the Nexus 5 is a sweet little device! I'm most excited for it's camera. When I save up my pennies I'll probably jump on a 32GB model as it doesn't have a microSD card slot. I thought that would be a deal breaker and why I opted for an S3 over the Nexus 4 as I figured no microSD would be a deal breaker. But I've noticed I don't actually USE the microSD card as much as I thought, unless I'm switching Android versions and need to format the internal.
I'd buy it instantly if I had the money. Worth the upgrade.
I will most likely upgrade too, once it becomes available on Amazon.

Opposite here, I like enabling the on-screen navigation buttons when I have a custom ROM.
I have opted to wait until the S5 is announced. The N5 is a great upgrade, but I've gotten used to touchwiz regardless if its flaws. Also, with holidays coming up... saving all the cash for the PS4 and a bigger TV or maybe an Xbox One too LoL

seeing that is a phone, good there looking for a tablet
I own the 16GB gold trim LTE variant.
Yes, this is still the best tablet money can buy.
Thinner and lighter than any iPad.
Rock solid build.
Beautiful AMOLED display.
Now it has Android 5.0.2 update.
I'm seriously considering buying the 8.4" LTE version as well to replace my phone.
400$ is a quite good price.
I have just bought it with 530$
It gets laggy and you have to wipe cache.. We do have CyanogenMod but that voids your warranty. I am regretful

thanks so very much for any help or opinions here,

The S2 is supposedly going to be announced tomorrow according to the link below, though i would never buy an 4:3 tablet as i watch mostly video`s

I agree, I personally would not buy a 4:3 tablet either. Looks like Samsung is just copying Apple once again. I think the current Tab S 10.5 is a killer, and one of the best tablets money can buy right now. I would encourage you to get this over the new model. However I would indeed wait to pick it up on sale. I have seen it on sale multiple times at $100 off. You have both Back to School sales coming up as well as the announcement of the new Tabs. Once the new Tabs come out, they will probably discount these as well. I believe in the philosophy that newer does not always mean better. Which I think may be the case for the new Tabs.
I also preferred 10.5 than 9.7.

Ditto here.
Don't forget get that the S2 doesn't come with their flag ship processor (think S6), still only has Android 5.0.2 and a smaller battery. The early reviews are already questioning Samsung's reasoning for this new version. Although the price is not official yet the reviewers are pointing to price along with the specs as big detractor. I've only had my S1 for a few months and that was solely based on the S2s move to a 4:3 aspect ratio but now I feel like I won the lottery as I bought it for $70 less retail.
Start looking for S1 sales and avoid what is shaping up to be a looser.
