Seal Your Box! Make the S4A waterproof - Galaxy S 4 Active Accessories

It's clear that the phone is waterresistant, not waterproof.
Still, I wanted to make photo's underwater. So i looked for waterproof cases, but only found several special cases for the normal s4.
But you can use the Krusell SEaLABox! De 3XL (XXXL) version fits perfectly! The inner dimentions are: 139 x 76 x 16 mm. The height of te S4A is a bit higher 142 mm and the S4A is mostly not mentioned in compatible devices, but it fits perfectly
I tested the seal a box already several times. It had the same IPX7 qualification, but i know for sure I can trust the Krusell!

No, it can't move. The transparant plastic is rubbery.
I'm sorry I both made a reply about sealabox in threat 'Is it really waterproof' and started a new one here. I wasn't intented to push the product. I am just glad I can make waterphoto's again.
I am nog going to make a testvideo. There are already plenty of sealabox-videos. For the iPhone the deal works just the same. The case is only smaller.

Arm Band

Has anyone came across any armbands for GN?
Will SGS2 ones fit our phones?
I tried a Belkin SII armband, didn't fit at all. Too short and struggled to take it out... Will keep looking.
I found this site - http://www.iarmbands.com/Arm-Band-Armband-for-Google-Galaxy-Nexus-CAB-nexus.htm
But sort of looks a little dodge
& there is also this one - http://docteur-gsm.com/en/samsung-galaxy-nexus/9461-Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-armband.html
I'm also interested in this. Saw a few on ebay.com and Amazon, but I am always a bit wary to buy from these sellers, especially when they claim a GN fit but have an iPhone or the like in the stock image.
I am interested in this as well.

yeah i found the same link (see above)
Who will be first to order from that site?? I might wait for them to pop up on ebay first
Someone said tunebelts fit. Dude said it fit the same as his Droid X did.
If that helps at all.

I am looking too...
A problem I see with most Armbands is the position of the headphonejack which is on the bottom on the Galaxy Nexus.
Fitting wise when I checked dimensions of different phones the Desire HD armbands should fit.
Desire HD = 68mm height
Galaxy Nexus = 67.94
So I'm gonna try the Desire HD one from igadgitz.com
It also has the jack on the bottom...

Yep, that's the one he claimed fit his Gnex just like his previous Droid X. He said he thought it fit because the Gnex is thinner than the Droid X.

I just put an order in for this armband. It's on sale for $14 with free shipping. I will report my findings once it arrives.
yes plz do!!
I have been speaking with someone at Tune Belt about their products for the GN and I got this response today:
Hi Adam,
I just got back from the Verizon store and this phone fit into AB84 pretty nicely. The AB84 has to stretch a bit to fit the length of the Nexus. There's a bit of extra depth even with AB84 but it is not too bad. AB85 is way too big.
Best regards,
Richard

So I think I will be buying one here shortly and I will let you know my experience. For reference, here is the product link: http://www.tunebelt.com/ab84
nice, thanks for the info!
Might have to try the TuneBelt product...
I got the same reply from Tunebelt, AB84. Said it's at the limits in length, but the headphone jack lines up nicely.
I have a suggested mod for any of the tunebelt products. The attached pics are from their waistband, but will easily work with the others as well. I don't trust velcro, and because the GN is slightly larger than other phones...even more so. I've used this belt for my OG Droid as well as my HTC Thunderbolt, but ain't takin' chances on this gorgeous new phone.
For $2 at Walmart, you can grab a kit of (I think 8) snap buttons. Very easy to install. You can do it right through the velcro, or use a sharp blade and shave the velcro patches right off/out (less to push through). Line up your rivets, etc on each side of the material and just tap with a hammer on a hard surface. Easy peasy.
LOVE it and don't have to worry about velcro coming undone and my phone flying down the street

I have the tunebelt from my Droid X and it fits, but the problem with almost all of these armbands is that the plastic cover never sits flush on the screen. Thus, the issue is that changing tracks or checking the phone is just all the more difficult while running, etc. Belkin made a great armband for the iPhone 3 (sister's) that sits very flush to the screen. I wish they had a SGN version.
Anyway, keeps us posted on iarmbands product. Would love to hear specifically how the clear plastic skin sits against the SGN screen. Thx.
Recently went to best buy and was looking for arm band case and found this:
[I am not allowed to post the link until I have 8 posts according to forum rules, but if you go to bestbuy.c*m and search for "Rocketfish arm band android" It will locate the product for you]
Although a 'generic' case, it actually fits the Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) pretty well (nice and snug) and the headphone jack lines up with the cutout. I also found it relatively easy to navigate the screen while in the case.
Just though this might help anyone looking for arm band case.

Easecase E5 review

Just a very quick review of my Easecase E5 which arrived about a week ago.
You can see pictures of it by search eBay for "Easecase E5 galaxy note" (without quotes), there's one here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E5-EASECA..._MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item5ae4059699
(I did get a bit of a shock when I saw that - that is my actual one - with my name on it, I was just searching for one at random)
Delivery time:
As mentioned in other parts of this forum, delivery times for Easecase are pretty woeful. I ordered on the 25th of November and, it arrived here a few days over a month later in Sweden. The problem seems to be largely that they ship via China Post which is quit slow - they dispatched it (with trackable* shipping) within about a week. I bought it through eBay, so I am not sure if they have another outlet, and, they make it very clear on their eBay items that they will take a looong time to ship, so, I can't take any points off them there.
Build quality:
It is beautifully put together. There's a slot running down the inner spine for the stylus, and my name is embossed on the front. I would characterise it as high quality.
Outside:
I opted for the magnetic clasp. It isn't a very strong magnet, but does the job.
Apart from the clasp, there's just the embossing on the outside, and, a neat seam around the edge.
Inside:
There are 2 bill pockets inside, both of which are *very* deep. They're about as deep as the note is high.
When it is fully opened, there are 5 credit card pockets on the left. Note that these seem to be individual pockets, separated from each other internally. Cards fit vertically into these pockets. The front of the pockets stretches a bit over 2 thirds of the way from the far left of the case to the spine. Behind the pockets is a sleeve about 1/3 wider than the short side of a credit card where you could fold bank notes* (remember this, I'll come back to it.
As I said, along the inner spine is slot for the stylus.
On the right is where the not goes. It slots in (quite snugly) from the top. The top is open, so you can get to the headphone port. There's a hole in the left for the volume control, a hole in the right for the power button, and, a hole in the bottom for access to the USB port.
Looking at the front, the home and hardware buttons are all accessible as part of the screen area. They've also neatly cut out around the top speaker and, the front camera.
Protection:
Very good. If the magnetic clasp doesn't come undone during a fall, then, it'd be very hard to break the screen. It is nice thick leather, and you might even be able to drop a brick on it when closed without breaking the screen.
It still won't help you if you drop it in the toilet as some poor chap here has apparently done.
Usage:
It is very bulky. Like one of those filofax jobs people used to (still?) have.
I'm used to big gadgets, so I cope, but you wouldn't get it into tight jeans pockets. I do squeeze it, with some discomfort into my front trousers pocket.
You don't want to talk on the phone with the cover on for more than brief calls, you look like an idiot. Most of the time I pull it out of the cover for calls, or, use a bluetooth headset.
Using the rear camera requires removing from the cover.
General browsing/emailing etc is fine with the cover on.
Fortunately removing the phone is a fairly quick procedure, as is putting it back it. I imagine it'll get easier still as the leather stretches a touch.
One annoyance is, as the leather reaches right to the top of the touch screen, if the phone slips up slightly, it can be difficult or impossible to pull down the notifications bar. When in landscape, this isn't an issue as the phone can't move left/right in the case.
Summary/thoughts:
I wish I'd bought the one without the bank note pockets. That'd reduce the bulk considerably and you could still stick notes behind your cards (see * above). You can also use the rear facing camera with the non-bank note version (E4).
On balance, I am pleased I bought it though, it is of high quality and, it is great having your phone and wallet all in the one thing - it also means you can ring your wallet to find it when you are in a hurry to head to work
If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
My recommendation for anyone thinking of getting one of these is to get the E4 and not this.
They don't seem to have any E4's on eBay at the moment for the note, but I am sure I have seen one there. Here's one for the Desire HD - I am sure it gets the point across.

Two quick thoughts:
1) When calling, can't you fold the case cover back 180 degrees?
2) Some launchers (adwlauncher does this) allow to swipe down anywhere to lower the notification bar, so you don't need to touch the very top.

No, the banknotes pockets kind of open so it gets more bulky and wants to spring back to about 180 degrees (where 0 is closed, 180 is wide open and 360 is the position you suggest), but I suspect you could with the E4 model.

Yes - I read about that setting a while back, but have never used it, thanks for reminding me - it is now enabled for the swipe down gesture (hide dock was annoying me anyway).
Hi, thanks for the review, i've been stuck deciding between the E5 and the E4, due to the E5 having the bill slot, which i would think is really good compared to folding the bills under the cards.
Can you take a picture of the case when it's fully loaded, both open and closed?
e.g. all card slots used, and the bills folded and slotted under the cards
That would probably help sway my decision, if that slot + cards do not bulk up the entire wallet.

I love those case, but it's sucks when they cost so much!
It's should be 10$ max.
peanuts and monkeys
i hope to order this case by the end of this month, i've emailed them some questions on customisation, hopefully it's permitted, then can go forward with this.
the E5 with wallet style slot is definitely too bulky. I bought one for my Desire HD with modified size to fit the DHD with Otterbox. After receiving it, tested once with DHD and sit in my drawer collecting dust ever since.

Ya know I thought the same thing at first, but I just got a pack of 3 extra batteries and I find I can put two of em in the wallet and also a cleaning cloth and everything fits great.
In terms of customizations I wonder if a small bit for some change could be added.
Its beautiful.
Easecase E5 looks good.
This is a genuine leather case, and very good quality construction. They also responded well to my customization request (I wanted a 65mm horizontal belt loop added to mine).
Only $10 max is out of the question. Worth 3 to 4 times that much. It includes branding of your own name as well. It's a very classy leather case/wallet.
Could you please share a photo were the Note is next to the case just to compare the size of the case?
Hey great review. I really love the customization of these cases and I recently bought a galaxy note us version from ATT so ive been doing some research for a quality wallet type case for my note (will arrive monday) I was just wondering, would this case or the E4 case which is what ill probably get be fine for the american ATT version. Im pretty sure the dimensions are about the same but im not so sure about the button placements or the charger placements.
The only thing I dont like is the shipping time but not much I can do about it but this case seems to be the best so far that ive found besides the vintage leather case but those dont come in black and have magnetic strips.
Any reply would be appreciated.
So just to recap - will my US ATT galaxy Note i717 be a good match with this case?

When I dealt with them, I found them quite responsive, I suggest asking them if it'll fit the i717 - odds on if it doesn't they'll have one that does even if they haven't advertised it yet.
Although I haven't seen it, I'd definitely recommend the E4 over the E5 - I find I don't really need the slots for notes (you can slip folded notes in the bit behind where credit cards go anyway) and, it the banknote pockets block the camera (by necessity) which drives me a bit mad.

Hybrid case that has headphone port large enough for most jacks?

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid. I really like its functionality, EXCEPT for the fact that I cannot use any headphone adapter with it. I use my phone with various plugs and none of them will fit due to the small holes in this case. I refuse to take my case on and off when I want to listen to music.
I need a case that is a dual layer. I want that extra protection. I like the slimness that this Neo Hybrid offers. Is there another case out there that would suit my needs? (i.e., allow me to use my regular cords to play music from different speakers and outlets?) I do not want to add bulk to the phone. So nothing clunky like Otter Box looking.
Thanks for anyone that chimes in.
I can tell you that the headphone port is no bigger on the 2nd gen then on the first gen of the spigen slim armor case. It's still to small. I may end up waiting until january sometime and get a case with a built in extended battery.

Yes, I got one of those things from Walmart as a "bandaid" right now. It distorts the sound quality. And quite honestly, I don't want to walk around with an adapter connected to my phone all day, nor try to keep up with it. I just really want a case that works!!

The problem is that in your case you'll be jumping off from the pro (Neo Hybrid/Slim Armor) wagon. Those are by far the best cases for the Nexus 5 and there's not anything close to that.

Came in the mail this morning and I love it! I felt like i was pimping, until I found out I can't use my head phone jack. How was this possible? Can't believe they would sell it like this. I love it too much to part with it. There has to be a better way.
I've been using these - known as AirBuds - sold exclusively online - $40 or $60 for 2 pairs, sometimes on sale for 25% off.
The inline buds has smart mic control, fit perfectly in the Spigel Ultra Hybrid case and another rugged bumper case that I'm using for the N5 - the foam tips offer great sound isolation w/o need for noise cancellation.
It works in the iPads as well HTC & Nexus 7 that we owned, and the flat cord is tangle-free.

What kind of monster headphone jacks are you guys using that it won't fit in these cases? I've used all sorts of cases and never once had an issue with port size.

This is incorrect, just basic run-of-the-mill (means common) jacks nothing special. Like ones that work in other cases with no issue. Its just this case is picky about using a specific size jack.

[Q] Iphone 6 quality case for the Z3 Compact?

Hey all,
Recently received my Z3 compact and am loving it. The only slight niggle I have is with the case manufacturers, are there any cases similar to that of the official iPhone 6 (many apologies, I am unable to post a link just yet)
I liked the look of some slim cases, for example the terrapin hybrid, however the cut outs on the top left side of these cases leave the phone very exposed (i would much rather it be fully covered, apart from the magnetic charging port) and not structurally sound. I own the case-mate tough and the top left side is weak.
So I am curious if there are any cases out there that offer the quality and look of the iPhone 6 case mentioned above, not to mention the feel too. Whilst I am really happy with the Z3 compact, the 6's design sits in the hand well.
Many thanks guys!

Understandable. But I also have to say, that people do feel differently about stability / product quality etc.
E.g. some people complain, that when you press against 1 corner of this case, you hear some "creaking" noises... and I can confirm that in general. But the point to me is, that in my usage (and I think I can honestly call me a power user) I just don't get to create that sound... so this doesn't matter to me. For me the pros are:
- stable (dropped already a few times.. absolutely no visible damage neither to phone nor case)
- super slim (charging in dock still perfectly possible)
- simple black color (I don't like fancy stuff)
- perfect material... never slipped in my hands even the tinyest bit
i'm using this one

Looking for feedback on Ipega PG-9087 vs the Betop G1 controller

Hello,

I've been looking for a telescopic bluetooth controller myself since a couple of months now, I even had my eye on the Ipega.
The issue however is that the mate 20 x is too big (174×85×8) to fit in any of these controllers except the bulky ipega 9083. The extension of the ipega 9087 is 4mm too short.

Yeah, it was odd because they replied to an amazon member saying it would fit yet on another reply when they said the dimensions that it could work with it was clearly not big enough for the mate 20x. So I emailed them and indeed it wont work so I bought this:

Yeah, it was odd because they replied to an amazon member saying it would fit yet on another reply when they said the dimensions that it could work with it was clearly not big enough for the mate 20x. So I emailed them and indeed it wont work so I bought this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IMSVVTU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far so good.

I've been using my gamesir 3gs that I already owned but i'm still waiting for telescopic gamepad that fits : https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Wi...id=1559249417&s=electronics&sr=1-2-spell&th=1
The phone does fit once you remove the top rubber grip from the mount, but given the weight of the mate 20x it can feel top heavy after long gaming sessions.

Cool. On mine it fits as long as I don't have any case on it
Ipega 9087 is bulky but I guess its the only option we have.
Has anyone found a telescopic controller that fits mate 20 X?
Ι don't like the fact that betop g1 is only for the left analog stick.
Thanks
I have both iPega 9083 and Betop G1 controllers. My game of choice is is Rangers of Oblivion.
- I prefer the 9083 overall for combat due to the right-side controls, but as other users have said it it bulky and takes up more space in my bag. You also can't easily reprogram buttons to cater for games with non-native support for gamepads.
- the G1 on the other hand is small, light and easy to carry around and charge (USB-C). But the lack of 2-side controls makes combat harder due to lack of tactile feedback buttons. But on the other hand, you can use it for any game with it's own in-built software to program buttons.
I finally found a Bluetooth controller that will accommodate the mate 20 x : http://glap.co.kr/en/index.php
Its the Glap controller designed in collaboration with Samsung. It can be seen in the ads for the note 10.
Though it's designed for Samsung phones, it can be used on any other android phone. Here is a video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nl30gMy9I4
The only thing holding me back is the price; starting at 80 dollars I have a hard time forking out the cash.
If anybody pulls the trigger let me know what you think.

So it fits the 20x width? Also I dont see how I could wear the headphones so BT would be the only option for audio I suppose.
Looks really sleek though.

This gamepad supports any Android smartphone with a screen size up to 7.5 inches / 10.1mm thick so it should work with the mate 20 x even with a case on.

I saw the video now. In the photos it looked like there was border surrounding the phone to fit it there

The border is only at the bottom to prevent the phone from falling.
