Help me remove/hide share bar in sense - One (M7) Themes and Apps

Hey Fellas, want to remove share bar in sense 6 (4.4.2 arhd) once you are inside reading an article. That black bar takes a lot of screen and would like to be able to hide it atleast or similar so I get more text on screen.
What to do?

1st of all. .WRONG SECTION..ASK QUESTIONS IN Q&A SECTION.
ANS- You mean on-screen buttons? Use Trickster app to remove 3-dot menu.

Oh sorry, didn't realise that.
I'm talking about when reading article in blinkfeed see here https://d13yacurqjgara.cloudfront.net/users/22485/screenshots/1493015/htc_blinkfeed_detail_1x.png
do you see the black bar in top.. the share options etc.. Takes a lot of space!
What would be great is have menu pop up with single press on home button or similar and get those options there. (only option I would need personally is read later and go back. Going back is already possible with normal backbutton and reading later is also already available if you go back and longpress an article (seems a bit buggy though doesn't always work)). Then we could get that 15% extra screen when reading!

[Q] can the search bar be removed ?

Nearly every picture of this phone I've seen it has a rather large search bar at the top of the home screen. Can it be removed? If not - could it be removed with root ?

P3Droid has done it...
by far my biggest gripe with ics
Hum. But he didn't say how Hopefully google rethinks this feature of the software. I mean I don't mind it being optional and default but ...

If you remove that ... you need another hack to enable "search".
Because there is no search "key" (virtual key).

They could bind it to long-press task switcher key for example. My x10 did also come without search button but it was bound to long-press menu key. Should be possible with software keys as well, right?

I wouldn't mind so much if they let me resize the damn thing. I know it's important but I really want it a quarter of it's current size.
I think P3Droid did it by modifying Launcher.apk and pushing it back to the device.

thye could let us at least be able to move it.. say to one of the other 5 screens, so its not on the main one
I believe its constant across all 5 homescreens, but I understand what you mean. I assume you mean have only one, and make it available to move around right?
If you are willing to root, then you can do many UI customizations as per P3Droid's mods or Paul_Brian's ROMs. You need root because most involve editing the launcher or framework-res.apk and other system components.
Yea. For me anyways I would rarely use search; so stuffing it in a place where it doesn't take prime space would be nice....; alternatively it could just be an ap that you can put on a screen as desired; or a menu option to enable / disable. Lots of solutions that doesnt' require it to be on every screen at the top...

Considering that you can't use the space that is left when you get rid of the search bar, I personally don't see what all the fuss is about.
You cannot place homescreen shortcuts or any other widget there, since as soon as you pick up an icon or widget to place on the home screen, that area is reserved for the Remove/App Info/Uninstall prompt.
So the only result of getting rid of the search bar would be a blank space that can serve no function at all. If I had to choose between a blank space that cannot be utilised, over a search bar...I'd choose search bar.
Or just download a different launcher. My HC tablet has the Google Search widget at the top-left corner that is static. A quick ADW EX download and bada-bing, bada-boom.
I'm running ICS CM7 theme on my G2x and I kinda like the search bar's location. Eventually I'd like to replace it with a clock or weather widget, but I don't stick with the stock launcher very long.
Ack I though the space could be used (I do not yet have the phone). That is also sad

When you disable google search it doesn't remove the permanent widget?

Your absolutely right but the trouble is it just looks ****e so I'd rather it wasn't there.
I'm sure someone will work out how to reclaim the space.

I find its design rather pointless, as soon as you click in the search box you're taken to another slightly smaller search box which has none of the transparency of the first...

How about a complet transparent search bar? You couldn't see it but it's there and if you know it you can use it.
The search bar should remain a widget, as it used to be. That would give users the most options, which is what Android is about.

[REQUEST] Stock notification bar- No scrolling

I would like to ask if any forum members have the knowledge or ability to modify the current set of toggles in the notifications bar so that they do not scroll when you first pull down the bar. It may be a minor annoyance, but the precious few seconds i waste by clicking on mobile data whilst waiting for it to scroll across to Wi-Fi is a killer

How about just change the toggles order? The scroll is actually kind of cool to me.
You can follow guide here to change the toggles order. Or you can just flash my theme, I do got one theme which is same stock look, just only change the order.
Unfortunately I don't want to just rearrange the icons and would like to stop the scrolling animation all together.
(Bump)
If you flash a 15 Toggle mod it will disable the automatic scrolling of the notification items.
If you are on a deodexed LF6, here are two options for you:
Stock look
Darker look

In on omega 6.0 based on LF2 will it still work? Or are they that specific to version ?
You know what, I find the same thing annoying. Would love to disable it as well.
I'm running a rooted stock. Don't wanna change the order, I like the look of the stock toggles, so not really interested in changing them. Just want the damned scrolling to stop!!!
Here i thought I was going to be the only one annoyed by this. Would definitely love a way to just get it to load up at the first 5 without having to animate the little scrollback
This scrolling is the first thing i noticed and it annoyed me quite a bit. Keep hitting the wrong button while trying to enable Wifi as used to the quick press on the S2.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
If not, I think there's a gap for an app!

if you're really bothered and this is a real issue for you - Omega 7.1 does NOT scroll the toggles when pulling down the notification bar.
edit: didn't read above properly... seems this is because of the 15 toggles mod.

use the 15 toggles, then it won't scroll.
Could I use that on the stock rom?

OMG, i'm irritated by this same problem, when i pull down the notification bar just to activate/deactivate mobile data, it starts scrolling to the left. Anyone found a way to disable it without rooting

No not really. Aside from custom roms and the 15 toggle thing. But I don't want to do either. I've just been living with it!
Really annoying though.

[Q] How to remove Google search bar from homescreen?

Hey guys, I just installed the CM10 custom rom for JB 4.1 on my htc one v. Everything works great, but I just can't stand having that ugly Google search bar on top of the home screen.
I don't want to use GoLauncher or anything like that to remove it, so I was hoping you guys know a mod that'll help.
I've tried installing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1741038 but it seems I've gotten ahead of myself, and broke something with this mod, so the phone keeps restarting after 5sec of run time. The mod is for 5x4 grid sized phones... and I kinda ignored that thinking it'll work fine :>
Please help me find a working mod, or a solution to end the restarts
Lol easy
Settings
Launcher
Home screen
Deselect the persistent search bar
Now come to ur home screen chick and hold the Google search bar and remove like any other widget
And there ur done

Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.

[Q] Initial set up questions, please help :)

1. I didn't give the navbar much thought through the initial setup and now I cannot change where I want the Navigation buttons to go.
When I go to the settings page for the touch buttons, it only has options for adding pointless buttons and, for instance, not the settings button.
Do you know how I can get back to that original menu to add 4 buttons instead of 3?
2. Is there a way to change the clock on the lockscreen as it barely shows on anything other than dark wallpapers. On the G2, you could swipe sideways, add a page and then delete the standard clock, but this UI seems not to have that feature.
3. Is the only way to get full immersive mode with this rom to install an Xposed module?
This belongs in the Q&A section.

HTML Clock format not working
I have one tweak that doesn't work for me. Maybe someone can help...
I want to remove the AM/PM from the clock but when I use the Custom HTML format the clock doesn't work; it just sits at the time I set it for. Has anyone else had this problem?
My only solution is to use Gravity Box just for the AM/PM to go away.
I cannot get the action on home button double tap to work. I want to set it to bring up the power menu but every time I set that option, lock the phone, return to the home screen or restart the phone it does nothing when I double tap on the home button twice (the one between the back button and the recents button). Am I missing something?
Would it be possible to translate to Portuguese G3 TB?

Am I right in assuming your actually putting numbers in? If so that's not how it works.
You have to put it in as described with letters:
hh:mm for 24hr
h:mm for standard
The time will input itself.

Is the option still showing as ticked when you return to it?
Are you tapping quickly?
Might there be another mod or launcher setting conflicting with it?
Finally a Q&A. Thanks!

I cant change the nav bar colors. Anyone w this problem?
I have a question. There is a section that says themes and something about 3rd party themes can be used. What does that mean exactly. I downloaded cm 9 10 and 11 themes those do not show up so im assuming that it must mean some other themes. So please point me in the right direction. By the way i love the app. It makes the phone ui tolerable until we get some cm and custom rom love. So thanks.

I'm honestly not sure what the problem was. I tried changing the action on long home button press to see if that would work. It did not, so I reset the phone and now both the long press and double tap options seem to work
