INSTALLATION
1.) Look at the preview and select the font of your choice
2.) Copy the selected fonts to anywhere on your SDcard
3.) Click install. At the first installation your device should prompt you to change the font type in settings. If you continue to install fonts after this it does not take you back to settings again, you will have to do this your self.
4.) To set the font you need to go into Settings > My device > Display > Font > Font Style > Choose your font. Note the more fonts you have installed the longer it takes to generate the list the first time so be patient if you go crazy and install ALL of these fonts lol.
5.) You *may* need to adjust the size of the font to suit your device; unfortunately there is no standard when it comes to sizing with fonts so consistency is out the window, I cannot change this, deal with it or swap to another font. On that note I cannot garantee that ANY of the fonts included in these uploads are even suitable for use on a mobile device, actually I can honestly say now that *some* of these are completely rediculous and probably shouldn't be used at all, but feel free to criticise... I don't really care all that much, if enough people think a font is sh!t then I will happily remove it.
Note: To uninstall any particular font you unfortunately can't do this from the font menu in settings like you would expect, you actually have to uninstall the fonts just like you would other apps or I should say widgets. Normally one would uninstall from their homescreen via the options but I have not created shortcuts for these fonts (I think its unnecessary and not only that but I really dislike apps junking up my homescreen), so in otherwords you need to go into Settings > More > Applications Manager > Downloaded Applications > Uninstall selected font.DOWNLOADS

CHANGELOG Seriously - Is this even necessary?
Release 1.0
✓ Bunch of fonts as per the list above that SHOULD install without a hitch? Let me know if there are any surprises or issues
✓ I have not tested them ALL of them but I tested most, so I can't forsee there being any bugs so to speak but there maybe discrepencies over naming of fonts etc, I can almost garantee that actually because not all the names listed above are identicle to their "origins"; i.e. some were renamed to have titles more practical so that one knows what they are installing instead of getting a surprise. If you must have something renamed to its proper name cause you have chronic OCD please send me a PM and I will make a special one just for you seriously tho...I understand...I have a bit of OCD myself at times haha.
Release 2.0
✓ New roboto font - How stupid of me to actually forget the font that lead me to creating these in the first place haha
✓ Other versions of the Apple Mac fonts
✓ Possibly some themes like starwars or back to the future etc. I have to go digging through my archives somewhere to find these. No promises.
Personal Favorites & Suggestions
My personal favorite font would have to be Windows 8 SegoeUI font, followed closely by Papyrus Regular, then Consolas
Credits XDA Ture type Flip Fonts - By Jarmezrocks
So far its only myself, but if you request a font and provide the source for it and then choose to have it uploaded (included with the rest) for others forum members to download and use then I'm happy to add your name here to the credits.

Great Collection
Thanks for the post and fonts,
one question which one of them is the S5 thin font ?

need courier bold
seems we have loads and loads and loads of sans-serif and doo-hickey display fonts but don't have much in mono-spaced serif typefaces.
courier is a good start but it's rather light. need a courier bold.
Thanks

thanks so much for this! really appreciate this!!! would you mind doing more Archer fonts - i LOVE it!

nice work thanx alot

For some reason I was never notified about any of you posting in this thread? I have an S7 now and these fonts DO actually work on the newer device also. I will take people up on their suggestions from this *old* thread. Cheers

For everyone who doesn't want the mega-crapware app, switch to desktop mode then you can download with browser.
Installed on my Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge+ BUT when I try to apply it the system makes me uninstall it.

HOWTO: Change Default Font in WM6

I for one don't really like the default Tahoma font, so I thought I'd share how to change the default font.
Using the default Vista font "Segoe UI"
1. Copy your font file (usually *.ttf) into /Windows/Fonts. Be sure to note the INTERNAL name of the font (find it out by double-clicking on the file in Windows)
in this case "Segoe UI"
2. Using your favorite registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\SysFnt
3. Find the key named "Nm". Replace what's in it (usually Tahoma) with the name of the font, in this case "Segoe UI"
4. Repeat III for "HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\Menufnt\Barfnt" and "Popfnt"
4.1 Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\V1
- look for something like FontAliases. The keys inside represent the font "choices" -you have (which default to Tahoma), and look like Arial:-12. Change the value -from Tahoma* to Segoe UI*.
- Rinse and repeat.
5. Reset
And that's it ! The Segoe font renders much more easier to the eyes with Cleartype (and the spacing is really nice)
Do post newer font faces that look nice on QVGA screens
I've uploaded a screenshot of AudioManager in playlist mode. As you can see, the font spacing is MUCH better, and the font looks crispier......try it out!

P.S: Feeling lazy to try out all these, or even intimidated by regedits? g77 kindly made these cabfiles to change fonts, so go crazy. Alternates are posted as well (Mind you, Segoe UI was only an example)

Merlin

Great find, I've done this on two of our WM6 phones and it does make a big difference. Much crisper and more modern looking.

See first post.
Nice tutorial... and I notice the difference in many apps... however my today screen and softkeys all look the same as before (compared side by side with a device without the font change). Is that normal with this hack? I verified all the reg entries in your first post.
Also, FYI Segoe UI definitely does not look right without cleartype enabled.

Yeah, I noticed it too, but I'm still looking for the regkeys. Dunno if this is a hard-locked property.
Segoe UI is designed for LCDs (which naturally need Cleartype enabled), so there would be no point in turning Cleartype off.
EDIT: It appears that the menu font IS Segoe UI, but the graphics subsystem warps it to fit a pixel grid.
Hi there,
I tried this today - but when I tried to edit the value of SYSFNT (NM) to Segoe UI (using Mobile Registry Editor) - got the error: Access denied...
Help please...
(I use a HTC Touch btw...)

That's strange....Anyone else experiencing this?
Try using TaskManager (click on the little arrow on the top-right to get a pulldown menu, and select Regedit).
This isfrom my OEM package archive just copy it to anywhere in the Touch, and run.
Where do I find the Segoe UI font file ?

Retro: WM2003FE wants in
Hi Merlin,
Intrigued by this WM6 hack. Any idea of how this could be accomplished for dinosaurs still using WM2003FE (don't want to give up the Toshiba E800). Admittedley we are behind the OS curve. But just once, it would be nice to share in the hacking fun on this portal!
Thanks.

I don't have a WM2003 device handy, so I can't test it out for you....sorry.
The procedure should be the same, and TaskManager should work on paper, but there are waay too many unknowns. At least it won't cause your Toshiba to go up in flames
But you are most welcome to try it out and see if it works...theoretically, it should. PM me if you have any more issues.
Doesn't work with RotateSE
Hi,
This is a great little hack and it works great in Opera and IE which is where it shines, but (there's always a "but") it doesn't work in Landscape mode which I switch it using RotateSE.
Any ideas?
P
Is this what you want?
I've made a cab to change your system fonts.
It fully replaces the system tahoma font.
You should turn on cleartype first.
To remove them you just have to uninstall.
There is little difference from Segoe UI to Tahoma.
Try Callibri or Myriad... (these fonts are REALLY nice!)
@g77
nice work, but I prefer Segoe UI...we all have individual preferences,y'know
Anyway, mind if I post these up on the parent?

[Theme]The Office (RC33) *BETA release*

Hey guys,
Here are some screenshots of the latest theme I have been working on. Feedback and suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.
***UPDATE 4/9/09***
Made a lot of fixes based on feedback received. Clock now matches the other icons/notifications, I personally like it a lot better! Application tray handle is now a thumbtack rather than the stapler in jello (stapler in jello is now delete handle). Added matching notification icons for most common stock apps (gmail, im, messaging, market, music, etc.) Cleaned up a weird looking button. Download link below!
***UPDATE 3/27/09***
Icon pack is available below. Included are all the application icons I made, as well as a blank icon background that you can paste your own icons into so they all match. Here is my process for doing that, though I'm not in any was saying that this is the only, or even the best, way to do it:
-Open both the icon you want and the "empty_sketchy" from the icon pack below in your favorite image editing program, GIMP or Photoshop, or whatever.
-You may need to resize the empty sketchy image, it works best if it is about twice as big as your icon you want to paste into it. There are two different sizes available in the zip file below, or it is a simple process to resize it to whatever size you need.
-Select and copy the icon you are working with, and then paste it into the empty_sketchy image. Center it, do any editing you need to do, etc. Then resize the entire thing to 48x48 and save it as a new file.
I'm still making a few changes and updates to the theme, and should release another update sometime this weekend.
***UPDATE 3/25/09***
Beta version now available, see link below. I still haven't quite finished everything I want to do with this theme, but I welcome ideas/suggestions/comments from anyone who wants to test it.
This theme is based on the US version of the TV show "The Office". It utilizes both things from the show, and typical office supplies.
Done:
custom boot screen
some notification icons
unlock screen
button backgrounds
clock
data network icons
phone signal, wifi, and battery icons
notification tray
all custom wallpapers
custom emoticons (from punkymoods.com)
To do:
remaining notification icons
delete tray handle
suggestions, etc

beta release now available, should work with both regular and lite RC33. download link in the first post!
I like the theme for the most part, I dont know what else you would put there but i dont really like the stapler in the jello as the apps tab thing. I really love the icons, can you post those for us to download to use with other themes as well?

wow that would be awesome, i downloaded this wallpaper and resized it for the G1 and your icon set will look awesome on it
not sure about a new app tab I will be thinking about it and let you know if i think of something
I love it i am downloading now the only thing i would change just from looking at the screens would be the clock i just doesnt seem to fit in
See the first post for a link to a zip file with all the icons from this theme and instructions on how to make matching icons for other applications.
@JediMasterASD: That corkboard wallpaper is awesome. Maybe I should include that as one of the wallpaper gallery choices in the theme.

I don't think I love the clock either. I'm thinking maybe just a square clock like the kind in every office and schoolroom in the world would be better...what do you think?
Thanks again for the icons, i have already made a few more and am loving it! this is my current homescreen
I would actually like to get a copy of your theme without a graphic at all for the apps tab if possible, obviously you dont have to go changing it just for me though but my homescreen would be perfect then. Also a clock that more resembled something you would see in an office would be good too.
also something you could do is for the app tab and the notification is use weapons, becuase we all know how much dwight loves to hide weapons around the office!!!
bump for the update - see first post for changes and for new download link!!!

Here is how to gain a new battery using UOT kitchen:
Get your "framework-res.apk", there are many methods to do this, i'll let you pick one.
Go HERE and click the "file upload" tab, select "system files" and upload your framework-res.apk. To avoid problems please us a CLEAN framework-res.apk
Now click the "battery" tab, check "use this mod", click "Custom battery", any of these styles will modify your framework to give you 100 charging and 100 discharging images.
Scroll down to the bottom and select a charging animation style, I would reccomend hybrid.
Click the "summary" tab and "submit work to kitchen"
Wait for the kitchen to cook your files then flash your new framework from CWM
Once flashed you can then flash the Universal theme on top.

The font I wanted to use wasn't available to download through the market. I've also had bad experiences with font switcher apps and this way is quick and works safely. And the beauty with metamorph you only have to apply the parts you want
Looks stunning mate. You could name it Mean Machine - Don't know why but it seems to fit

Thanks for the kind words
Ninjamorph lets you switch out images in apks on board without the need of a PC and lets you edit market apps.

You don't have to use any app to change the fonts. It's under display settings
And all the needed fonts could be found on this thread

Nice one Dully. glad to see you here mate. Maybe we can work on something together one day.
Btw ive never used metamorph... does it just replace the images rather than the whole apk? If so that sounds like the way forward to save people hasstle with incompatible parts.
Have a good one!

I'll hit thanks when I get home from work. I was aware of the display settings but I haven't dabbled with them yet.

Cheers m8, I'm definitely up for a joint effort
Metamorph just changes the images you want instead of the whole apk, helps keep the file size down and can be applied across multiple platforms also.
awesome theme...keep up the good work
btw, can your theme apply on VR1.4 and/or TK-ROM v0.3.7?

Very nice theme!!!A battery %??
thank
Will this work for litening rom v1.5?
It should work on all ginger bread roms as its only images being changed so it shouldn't cause any conflicts, backup though just in case and please report back if it works.
I haven't changed the battery as I've noticed different roms are using different steps so some original images would show.
I'll have a look inside some roms and make a separate battery morph.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!! Works Perfectly for litening rom

[ICONS/MODS] [3-1-12] Icons and Nav Mods **ANOTHER HUGE UPDATE**

Hey all. Here are all of the icon sets I have made thus far. They all come in FULL sets. They are *NOT* flashable zips, just regular ones. These are probably best used with Nova Launcher or your alternative launcher of choice.. I will add more as often as I make them.
Enjoy and hit that thanks button if you like my work
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
POST 1: Premium Icons
POST 2: Basic Icons
POST 3: Navbar Mods
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**I'm always open for requests**
Please private message me with your request and I guarantee a reply within 24 hours.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Thanks to NatemZ (RW) for creating the sexy Rootzwiki wallpaper I package with most of these sets. Make sure to thank him!
-Thanks to Fawkes (RW) for finding a working method to replacing your system apps with mine so they will even show up in you app drawer and so on. Make sure to thank him!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*These sets are NOT flashable zips! Extract them with something like Root Explorer*
Instructions:
-Method One (Easiest, but does NOT replace system icons or show up in app drawer): Download the zips from the links to your sd card. Use an app like Root Explorer or AndroZip to extract the contents of the zip. In Nova launcher (or whichever one you use), long press the chosen icon and hit "edit" when the little menu pops up. Browse via gallery or root explorer to said extracted icon. Apply. Enjoy.
-Method Two (Advanced, Replaces system app icons):
*I am not responsible for anything you do to your phone. You do this at your own discretion*
1. Perform the all important Nandroid backup. Just in case...
2. Download the icon set of your choice to your SD card.
3. Use Root Explorer to copy the .apk file of the app you want to edit to your sdcard.
4. Unzip the app.
5. Copy the icon of your choice to the res/drawable folder of said extracted app.
6. Rename the old "ic_application.png" (original icon file) file to ".old" (or whatever)
7. Rename the new icon to the same thing as the old one (ic_application.png)
8. Rezip the entire app up, and then rename it from .zip, to .apk
9. Place the app back into the system/app or data/app folder that you pulled the app from originally.
10. Reboot
11. Place the icon back on the homescreen if you want it there.
12. ...
13. Profit!

I am actually in the process of that right now! I'll be adding to almost all of the sets here shortly, as well as I'll be adding a bunch of new sets and bringing my softkey mods here as well.
Also, I will be updating the OP later tonight with a BUNCH of new sets, updated links as I switched my hosting to goo-inside, Metamorph/Zipthemer softkey mods, and a far cleaner format!
I would also like to apologize to the XDA Galaxy Nexus community as I haven't done my part to maintain this thread and keep you guys updated. I promise from this point forward that will no longer be the case.
Stay tuned guys! I'm about to open the floodgates on a collective 92 hours worth of themeing and mods.
If anyone gets curious and doesn't feel like waiting, download the goo-inside.me app from the market and find me under the devs section. All of my icons and navmods are there

Could you do a Quickboot and maybe a Yahoo Finance icon? If I had to pick one, I'd pick Quickboot.
Thanks, loving the icons.

Raubkatze – for the base theme template to use VRtheme for SGS3. I would extend the thanks and appreciation further to the core developers who have developed VRtheme engine for VillianROM. You guys are a true asset to XDA and your hard work is very much appreciated!

Hey thanks guys makes me happy that finally some people on here have found some work I have done and appreciate it. It keeps me motivated :victory:
Sirusuk, the Chrome icon staying round is because your version of chrome is not installed as a system apk and or you have received an update to the chrome version that is installed in /system/app. All chrome updates actually get installed as a user app, so if yours was a /system/app it would still have the themed icon, only that you'd need to roll it back to an earlier version for it to display. What I mean is (and your welcome to try it?) is if your back up the current chrome version you have with say titanium or Androzip or something and then go into settings>applications>all>Googel Chrome
Go inside its profile you will see an uninstall option (this will only work if the app is a system app) you click uninstall and it *should* say do you want to uninstall updates? You click yes and it will roll back to the system chrome and display the square icon.
Besides that, I am working on a methodology that will theme market apps that are in /data/app by flashing a theme from recovery? I was of the impression that there was already a way of doing this but for some reason I cannot find any write up on it. I maybe wrong but there was something that was on the front page of XDA about this while back and I have searched and searched and found nothing? I will eventually get it working, but for now if you are happy to send me through a cop of your apk of chrome I will theme it and send it back so it displays correctly. I will also include this in the next update for everyone else to use. I will ensure that the script will backup the original apk on to the SDcard as it does already with all of your system apps that have been themed.
ragzdincs, yes I am currently working on that now along with options to install the theme via aroma installation to allow users to pick and choose what they like of my theme. One option will be to convert all of the pop up menus to dark theme (which I have tested already and work perfect) the other is to theme them all tinted at 25% to match a lot of the other themes and widgets.
As for XDA app, there seems to be a few XDA apps going around already? I am unsure which one is the correct one to use? I tent to stay off my phone whilst I am at work and out and about, and only visit the site really when I am on my PC cause I like to get a clear look at everything on a bigger screen.....but if you want to send me the apk, I can take a look at it for you? I may end up using it to keep tabs on my threads like this is people are happy with my work.
Thanks for the positive input guys I really appreciate it. Hope you both had a great new years
