Built-in screen protector - Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

All of the Sony Xperia's (except Z2) screen are covered by Sony original screen protector. Sony called this, anti shatter film. Unfortunately, it is real finger print magnet, that's why many users remove it. Is T2 ultra screen covered by this plastic layer?

I dont think so mine doesnt seem to have a screen protector )

The included shatter proof screen protector

So the Sony Acro S comes with a shatter proof film or screen protector which is supposed to hold the glass in its place if it shatters ? , what good will that do ? now i was thinking of removing it an apply a standard screen protector over the screen, my question is many people say the raw screen is much more responsive (specially the buttons) and the screen appears brighter ? so should i go for it or keep it ?
It will keep the pieces in the phone and thus protect yourself, your children or pets from cuts. You can also probablys use the phone with the cracked screen if all pieces are in place. I got some nasty scratches in mine, so I removed it and ordered a gadgetshieldz screen protector. Can't say I noticed any difference with factory protector off...
Installation of the new protector was easy, since the phone is water resistant.

Is a screen protector really necessary?

Since the ZL already comes with a decent one on it, (the sony logo is actually on the screen protector.) I don't see the point in getting one. I just bought a zaggshield but didnt like how it changed the feel of my device so I trashed it. I considered this one which is a thin actual glass shield,
http://www.spigen.com/sony-xperia-z-screen-protector-glas-t-premium-tempered-glass.html but even on the review featured on the ordering page they said it did add some weight since it's glass and collect some dust around the edges which is understandable. Simply put, I dont think the ZL really needs a screen protector, obviously it will help and in the case of the glass shield above, take the brunt of impact if you drop it but otherwise I think the stock shield is decent enough, thoughts?
The ZL's anti-shatter film that you're referring to scratches really easily. I actually sent mine back because of it. Putting a Skinomi over the film from day one solved the problem on the new one.
I think you should put a second on top, because the already applied scratches easily. And the Sony logo is NOT on the screen protector.
The XZ does have the logo on the screen protector, XZL doesn't.
Get a protector that's oleophobic.
The grease marks are unbearable on the standard protector.
Actually the factory applied screen protector does not have the Sony logo, the Sony logo is in below the glass itself, I know because I removed it to apply a Krussell one, which is by the way not bad at all, it adds a softer, kind of couchy feeling to the screen. I didn't like how easily scratched the stock one could be, now this one is good but I still get the fingerprints, I am looking for a new, oleo-phobic one.
EDIT: The rumor about the logo being applied on the screen protector came from some Xperia Z (not the ZL) having it printed on the screen protector, but again they were preproduction units, I have yet to see an actual production unit with that kind of screen protector.

The production Z has the Sony Logo on the anti-shatter film - mine's a week old.
Can you prove that the ASF on the ZL does NOT have the Logo on it? Reason for asking is there are conflicting claims that it is and it isn't. Cheers.
Who cares about a logo really? haha
anyone have a tutorial to remove it?

I know because I just did that, I removed the original screen protector and the logo remained on the glass.

C6506: Anti-Shatter Film

Finally damaged my anti-shatter film after 15 month and just removed it. To my surprise, the Sony Logo is part of the glass it self unlike the Xperia Z.... Pretty happy since I like the Sony Logo.... Just posting so other C6506 ZL users will know.... Not sure about other versions of the ZL though.... BTW cleaned the screen after with an alcohol wipe
Recently I pulled my C6503 out of my pocket and had a real big and deep scratch all over the screen. I removed the factory film and my Sony logo also didn't come off
I didn't have any problems removing the film. Just lifted it in one corner with my finger nail and pulled it off. No need for a cutter or other sharp tools.
Replaced the factory film with a 3rd party one I bought at amazon.
Scratch resistant?
When the anti-shatter film removed, does the glass resist scratches? Is it a kind of gorilla glass or DragonTrail?, I haven't removed it because of this question

It's tempered glass, it might resist some scratching but you should be careful anyway since it's not 'THAT' resistant.

Xperia Z1 tempered glass

Hello, xda community
I want to buy a tempered screen protector for my XPERIA Z1 C6903. In my country I couldn't find any besides Vakoss tempered screen protector 9H. Is there any other parameters to know if it is good enough to protect my screen against scratches? Cause I didn't find any more info on the internet about this protective film. And will it cover the scratches on my factory anti-shatter film currently applied on phone or should I remove it and replace with the film I am going to buy?
Thanks in advance.
I recently purchased a set of tempered glass screen protectors from Glass4M for my Xperia Z1. I chose to remove the ASF from both the front and back before applying the protectors, as my ASF was already quite scratched. It seems to be fine but only time will tell.
I ordered Nillkin's 9H+ tempered glass from amazon.de 9 months ago it still is in almost fine condition (not mentioning a small crack on top, which does not fall in view so much) even the anti-fingerprint layer didn't come off yet, but I am going to order another one because of that crack and because I didn't remove the ASF film before applying the tempered glass and can see the ASF scratches in direct sunlight
I removed ASF and using MTT 9H and its working superfine.. not even a single scratch in last 7 months

Does the Z5P have a built in sony branded screen protector like the older phones?

Does the Z5 Premium have sonys built in with the logo plastic screen protectors already installed?
I know my older Sony phones had this on top of the glass display and it was really annoying.
How durable is the screen and glass back? I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 without any screen protector and its been holding up well, I heard the sony scratches really easy?
no extra protective layer preinstalled.
Don't know about durability, been using glass-protectors from day one
