[Q] how to restore whatsapp? - Micromax Canvas A1

Restoring whatsapp is simple, just copy whatsapp folder to internal memory storage, and install whatsapp, it will be detected by whatsapp.
The problem with Micromax Canvas A1 is that i can't see internal memory storage. ES File Explorer doesn't show it. So will copying the folder on sd card do?
Has anybody tried this?

Works
Restoring works when WhatsApp folder is copied to SD card.
Android one's internal memory is apps only and can't be modified from file manager.

Just clear data then verify then whatsapp ll ask to restore data and no thanks optn

[Q] Whatsapp media stays in internal storage after SDFix

As android 4,4 got permission problem with sd card, I rooted my G3 and installed SDFix for it. Is there any method to make whatsapp to download media, like pictures and audio, into the SD card instead of internal storage?

Unfortunately till now whatsapp still looking for this issue. For the time being, you should free a space for whatsapp pics and video. Move your other data to external memory so that you will freed up space for internal memory. Because you can not make the external sd memory to be the default memory in whatsapp.

[Q] Editing a installed app ?

i was just wondering is it possible to edit a app ?:
so that rather installing the videos and documents and audio to internal storage to , install to the /extsdcard instead
also look into the sdcard for said files instead of internal storage
Let's see here... I use xposed Downloads to SD, and many apps find what I put on SD. Some apps need to be moved to SD to find the data. fortunately, Android 4.x allows most apps to be moved to SD, so no special apps are needed.
So far all my media apps including Studio, Gallery, Hi-speed camera, Stock video player, and MX Player do just fine finding media both on SD and internal.
If you want defaults to SD storage, you will have to edit the config file associated with the app, if the app does not have a feature to change storage location. Not all apps have a config file nor use the ssystem.db database.
i have one app that can be moved to sd but still downloads its documents/videos/audio to internal storage ,, it doesnt matter if the app is on sd card or internal it always looks for the folders in internal storage even if i move the folders manualy
hmm sorry didnt read properly trying it out now
Gooberdude i salute you thanks for that , by using downloads2sd, i set the two main folders up for music and movies onto sd card, re-install the app and redownload from app, this binded the file on sd card to the app
exactly what i was looking for
thanx again
Your welcome!

[Critical]Wipe data while the externed sd formatted as internal sd

As my title described the situation
I've wiped the data & cache while the external sd card formatted as internal card [ android version marshmallow ]
at the moment all apps still in the sd card but not shown in the menu since i wiped the data
how to fix this conflict ? i don't want to loose my data !
Don't use sdcard as internal storage before use my help.
1. Install app again
2. Use file manager (es file) to copy data from sdcard/android/data to internal/android/data
3. Open the app and test.
I think it will help you.

Cannot delete photo from SD card

Just put a SD card from my old Samsung phone to my new z2 force and found out that I cannot delete photo from this SD card, either using Google Photo app or File Explorer. Using File Explorer I can delete other files just fine (like pdf files). I don't want to format the SD card as I have quite a few things in there.
Anyone know a fix?
You need to give those apps permission to access your storage. Go to apps and check the permissions.

internal memory problem

Hi,
I know it is not such a good idea to use an SD card as internal memory. But unfortunately it has now happened.
I use a Motorola G5s with Android 8.1, 64 GByte SD card as internal memory. Now I would like to switch to a new Android and backup everything via the Google cloud before. Both Whatsapp backups and ThreemaBackups abort, probably because there is too little memory. The internal shared memory is given as 13.04 used by 32 GB and the SD as 63.06 used by 64 GB. I have removed Apps & Videos, only the internal shared memory becomes free. However, the backup problem remains.
What can I do? How can I make Whats App etc. find enough memory again?
Kind regards
Alex

This thread is for g5 not for g5s. Please post your problem in g5s thread.
And for memory check, just install any file manager and check where the memory is using.
For WhatsApp use whatsapp backup feature, it will backup all of contact, message, video....
WhatsApp has its own backup system
Open WhatsApp and goto settings/chat/chat backup
Link your Google drive account and chat backups will be made
If you have too much media & not enough online storage you can manually copy the media from the WhatsApp folder on your device to a PC and backup just the chat messages only
