[ROM] Android 5.0 LPX13D Lollipop Developer Preview - Nexus 5 Original Android Development

You can now download Android 5.0 Lollipop (Developer Preview) build LPX13D for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. After the initial preview build, LPv79, this is now the second and final developer preview before the official update will be released next month. This Preview Image of Android 5.0 Lollipop contains many of the major enhancements that were teased at Google I/O held previously this year. LPX13D will be bringing the final transformed stock applications and will also be completing the design overhaul. This is a greater update than the initial preview build, LPv79. There is one thing to note, Google is still not regarding this as a complete final upgrade for the masses but it is targeting it towards the developers so that they can test out their apps. You can manually update Nexus 5 to Android 5.0 LPX13D developer preview factory image from the tutorial below. The only catch is that if this will be your first time playing around with a factory image, you might have to unlock your bootloader first before continuing – which means wiping all of your phone data.

Disclaimer: Try this on your own risk. I’m not responsible if you mess up with your Nexus 5.
Nexus 5 Android 5.0 LPX13D Factory Image Details:
Android 5.0 Developer Preview was released earlier today for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013). Lots of new changes have been made in this latest update to the preview and they all will make their way first to the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. We will be posting more details as we near the official OTA for Nexus family of devices.
How to Install Android 5.0 LPX13D Preview on Nexus 5
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install Android 5.0 Lollipop (LPX13D) Developer Preview on Nexus 5 using the preview image provided by Google. This tutorial is for beginners who are not used to playing around with official factory images by Google for their Nexus devices.
Please make sure your phone fulfills all the requirements and you read the entire tutorial once before actually performing it on your device.
Just To Remember:
This tutorial is only for Lg Nexus 5 and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of this tablet.
Your tablet can be on any previous Android version or even on a custom ROM. It doesn’t matter at all. This tutorial will still work for installing Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Enjoy Android 5.0 on your device and let us know your review about it!
NOTE: Installing Android 5.0 LPX13D Lollipop Developer Preview will WIPE / DELETE / ERASE everything from your tablet if your bootloader is not already unlocked. Please make sure you have a backup of all the data. Read: How to Backup Android Apps and Other Data.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download Android 5.0 Preview Image (hammerhead-lpx13d-preview-f7596f51) for Nexus 5 on your PC, if you haven’t already.
Step 2 - Connect your Nexus 5 to your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 - Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.
Step 4 - Turn OFF your tablet.
Step 5 - Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.
Step 6 - Now extract the downloaded file anywhere in your computer. Go to the folder hammerhead-LPX13D and then copy/paste all the files to your Fastboot directory.
Note: If you followed our tutorial on setting up Fastboot on your computer, there is a 99% chance your Fastboot directory will be the platform-tools folder in your Android SDK directory.
Step 7 - From the factory image files in your Fastboot directory, do the following depending which OS you are on:
On Windows: Run the file “flash-all.bat”.
On Mac: Run the file “flash-all.sh” using Terminal.
On Linux: Run the file “flash-all.sh”.
Step 8 - That’s pretty much that you had to do for flashing the stock factory image on your Nexus 5. Now wait and watch as the process is completed — or follow the on-screen instructions on your tablet if in case you have to unlock the bootloader.
Step 9 - After the installation completes, your tablet will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait with patience!
That’s it! Your Nexus 5 should now have the official Android 5.0 LPX13D Lollipop Developer Preview update installed on your phone! Go to Settings >About phone to verify.
Have fun playing with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop. All the instructions are clearly given above, but if you have any issues, please let us know.

Already two threads for this preview including Vomer's one HERE

Great post, but there are tons of threads all over XDA already covering it...

[UI] GN Fastboot Flasher[v1.5.0][27/7]

I'm proud to present you the GN Fastboot Flasher (GNFF)
I love the simplicity and the convenience of Odin, but it's close source and also there a few files to flash with Odin. So I decided to create an Odin-like app, but for using with fastboot.
Remember that this app is in Beta stage may not be a complete and safe way of flashing. By using this software, you accept its danger.
This app only works on Windows. I have no plan to distribute it to Linux/Mac. The reason is clear, I know nothing from coding on Linux/Mac .Also I'm sure there are lots of work to do in the windows version.
GNFF Functions:
Flashing boot.img, zImage, zip file containing zImage
Flashing radio, bootloader, recovery, system
Flashing stock image files (.tgz)
Flashing stock image files automatically by downloading from Google servers
To do:
Add other options, like unlocking bootloader - Done
Make logging better and complete - Done
Add other languages
Bugs:
You say!
Changelog:
Version 1.5.0:
Fixed image downloading problem.
Added ability to update the program(Wait till the next version).
Added a part named "Addons".
Added ability to unlock/lock the bootloader.
Added Console to execute commands using adb and fastboot.
Some aesthetic changes.
Added support for JB ROMs.
Now you can inter "Custom" for your current ROM, and GNFF will download and install the latest official ROM.
Added a button to clear the log.
New icon.
Added abiliy to use drag & drop for flashing files.
Adding ability to use "open with..." for flashing files
Version 1.0.2:
Added an option to download and flash stock images from Google servers
Added an option to reboot to bootloader
Fixed the bug that was causing the log part don't be scrollable
Now GNFF doesn't let stop the flashing progress using repressing "Start" button
Version 1.0.1:
Added bootloader control, now it doesn't flash anything on devices with locked bootloader.
Added zImage control, now it gives an error in the log section when the zip file doesn't contain a zImage.
Added some more log informations.
Version 1.0.0:
Initial version
Sources:
To be honest, I'm not pro in using Git and publishing open source apps. Anyway I pushed them to github. You can compile them using AMS.

looks interesting. looking forward to test it out later
It seems a good idea, good work, carry on
Added 1.0.1 version to the first post. Enjoy!
I have no need to use this at the moment so won't try it. It looks very good though and I hope you keep up the development.
Super cool idea. So we can use this app to install latest stock images from Google. Could we install also Cwm images ( is this the recovery part)?

Yes.
That option is for flashing recovery image files.
I think the potential for this app is really great. It could be used for senarios like:
1) Unlock bootloader
2) update image
3) install an image with root
etc...

Yes. I will add this features soon, but now I prefer to focus on fixing bugs rather than adding features.
Also, I didn't catch what you mean about update image.

Unfortunately ALL of the USB ports of my laptop are broken since yesterday. So I cannot test anything and you may see a lot of errors in this build. However 1.0.2 is ready and you can download it from the first post. Enjoy!
Looks good! Great Job Sina
Thank you

By the way nice work there.

Have you installed adb drivers ? If not that's the issue . Boot in to bootloader ( power off the device - press volume up + down + power button ) then it'll ask for adb drivers . You can find the gnex adb drivers from googling .
After installing drivers , you are good to go .
.. Beamed Directly Via GNEX ..
file is no longer available...

Me too, anybody can help me? plz
Hi, Thanks for the fine tool!
Unfortunately some apps still label my 6.1 plus phone as (rooted)
Even after I flashed the DRG354H home B stock rom,
Everything went well, but the postoffice app here refused to log me in, saying that my phone is rooted! and its not!
Kindly if there is any fix to wipe the phone clean of any former root traces I'd be most grateful.
or if there is a full stock firmware file download link would be the best.

Can you be polite with your words, please? People are not getting paid to answer questions like yours.
Currently, there are no official unlock methods for ANY Nokia phones. But it still unlockable by unofficial means. You can search Google for that. Try searching for bootloader unlock service from techmesto or hikary. It costs around $5 to $8 depending on the status of your phone. Google is your friend, mate.
I hope you have a good day.

Hi there
First off thank you for your work on the Nokia 7.2, it's good to see someone doing stuff for this phone.
I have a couple of requests to make specifically related to this tool.
Firstly, is it possible to release the full sources of the tool? On your GitHub repository there's only one file related directly to the tool (Form1.cs), and the naming inside the file is all still the auto-generated code from the WIndows Forms designer in VS, which makes it very difficult for anyone to contribute simply because it's hard to figure out what's going on.
Secondly, as a continuation of the first issue, I see that you added entries to the flashtool to flash the 1.400 build for Nokia 7.2 (as per your Telegram channel - POST), however this release is not on the GitHub page. The last release was the original release on 23rd December 2019. I also checked your SourceForge page, however the tool doesn't appear there. This feeds back into the first issue where if I had the full source I could compile and flash the new ROM myself.
If you could at least upload the full source code for the first request, I would happily fork it and clean up the code a bit, even make it so you don't have to manually update the code every time a new release comes out.
Otherwise, keep up the great work man

Well thanks for your feedback. But if you are familiar with visual studio. You won't say it is auto generated but the thing is formula which i used is same for 6 different handsets. But still SLD DDV is almost same but the thing is there is no rule to upload source code expect kernel sources until its related to Android operating system. But still i provided the main thing which contains everything in form1.cs well the thing is ui can't be run on another visual studio directly. If you know this point then you won't ask for full source code. Apart from your questions. You can't compile rom.zip because it's actually based on OTA.zip converted to fastboot with my shell script if you are familiar in all these definitely you won't ask about source code and zip and compilation stuff

Nokia 6.2
Hello there,
I successfully installed the Android 10 Stock-ROM on my Nokia 7.2 some Weeks ago (Android 10.0.0 DDV2250 HOME BREW (March 2020)).
Today I received the first OTA-Update (V2.270) but I'm unable to install it. My Device is allways showing "Installationproblem" after a few Seconds.
How can I fix this?
I only unlocked the Bootloader to flash the Stock-ROM, there is no root, custom recovery or anything like that.
Thanks in advance!
raghu varma you r working hard keep it up
Since this tool works on Windows only, have you ever planned on releasing one for Linux?
I had three Xiaomi devices before I bought Nokia 7.2 and all of them had some sort of shell script, which worked flawlessly on my Linux distribution. I would be so happy to have a tool that works on Linux as well.

You can try to flash A and B to Stock and then try to update again. In case you thought that the downloaded files where Bad, you can download a newer full-update.zip and then make your own homebrew.
This tool doesnt do anything to the phone. It claims its rebooting the phone but nothing happens, even after waiting for well over 10 mins.
Same here as Talon Pro. Installed the stock like in instruction, rebooting the phone and android screen is freezing like forever...
any solutions?
You can alternative try downloading the Firmware from https://fih-firmware.hikaricalyx.com. Maybe, this script works better for you. All things flashed, a&b! Normaly, you can't do something wrong.

and what i mean by crash is it intermittently flashes black and then back into the launcher. no discernable pattern or guess as to why. going to continue to toy with it and try to update it...
---edit i jumped the gun, i think those flashes were updates
----so after flashing the system over, wait for the shield to post into the chromecast screensaver, dont mess with it, then it will be fine

I think My main question would Be, and forgive me, because I'm learning as I go, While Running Stock, are you able to post into TWRP, after unlocking the bootloader?
Like, through fastboot, theoretically you shouldn't have to install the developer images as i did in my examples,,, but if you could get TWRP recovery to post, while in stock, with a momentarily unlocked bootloader, you should be able to run the OEM unlock code, then flash the staging blob, as well as the new images...
i do not mean to disrespect NVIDIA... but if you read their flash codes...
you can tell their devs are much more proficient on linux,
which is a great trait~! but it doesnt translate well for windoz userz...
Does anyone know if it is possible to update to consumer release via OTA after flashing this developer release?
I'd like to install this developer release on my girlfriend's Shield TV 2017 now and once Nvidia releases the consumer release, would she be able to update it via OTA? She is not technically proficient to update it to the consumer release by herself using fastboot and ADB.
Shield Experience 9.0.0 is working perfectly. I don't know why USB devices take forever to load files on Android 11 and crashes MX Player? Anyone else having the same issue? It's a developmental image so having these bugs occur is what happens. Anyways I reverted back to 8.2.3 and my issue is now resolved

Seems like this new update does not like Magisk.
FLashing Magisk.zip causes me to be stuck going into bootloader.
@ jenneh - Did your notepad not have the replace option?

If you can't get Plex Server up and running after installing this all, go here to sign up for the official hotfix from Nvidia or go here for the official hotfix from Plex.

NEVER MIND I LIED.
I tried to do the known working procedure from memory and missed a step, the method still works. Got latest update with root running row. Shame I had to do a factory reset while trying to figure things out but small sacrifices...

Thank you for sharing your experience, I have some issue... to prevent fragment external HDD I prefer ext4 fs and unfortunately the nvidia roms doesnt support at this time! So I install microg magisk module on LineageOS 17 but I encountered black screen! also I install official microG release: https://download.lineage.microg.org/mdarcy/lineage-17.1-20220110-microG-mdarcy.zip but I encountered black screen too!

I still only see the 8.2.3 recovery listed on the Nvidia website. I didn't sign in as a developer though. Where did you get version 9.0.0?

It has been officially released. If you're not signed up as a developer or if the developer site doesn't work for you like it didn't for me, then your best bet is to lock bootloader (if it's unlocked), check for updates and then install the updates, then unlock the bootloader and add any/all of your modifications back.
Had issues bypassing Google login so jumped on the Lineage bandwagon. Is there anything worthwhile in 9.0 over 8.2.3?

We are very excited to announce Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.
Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

Thank you so much for this ROM. I want to try out this ROM. Do we have to be on OOS 12 or 11 before flashing this?

ROM comes with firmware, you'll be able to flash it regardless of OOS version as long as your bootloader is unlocked.
Thank you for all the effort, Timo. It's all fine for now.

Open boot loader with
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
boot into fastboot mode
place rom file inside adb folder & run
Code:
fastboot update romname.image.zip
Make sure you download the .image.zip file
On first boot it will ask you to reset data, Reset your data & thats it
thanks for your hard work,,,
i flashed and used for one day,,,
battery timing was best, even better than oos10..
i faced some minor UI glitches,, as this is first built,, it's ok.. ROM id smooth.
charging speed is better than oos10..
the reason why i have to come back to oos10, was Snapchat chatting bug,,,
example if i send a msg , it will not show in settings and will send after hours.. some msgs even weren't send....
please fix Snapchat issue or if someone know how to solve Snapchat chat issue, please reply to this comment...
2nd it's showing device isn't certified, please solve it too.
Note: if anyone facing issue related fastboot option,, i mean if your device stuck on Bootloader warning,,, even after format data,,,, then please flash all partitions manually then then restart to recovery, format data then reboot to system... this is how i was able to boot ROM
