Note: I will NOT add useless optimization drivers, "DanceLizard360" governor, or any random frequency step pulled out of who knows where. I WILL add features I've either written or thoroughly reviewed myself that actually serve a purpose. If you'd like to contribute or recommend a feature, think before you speak. This is not a toy, this is a tool to control the hardware on your device. That said... enjoy!

Savoca what up hommie, G2, N5 now I just got G3. Awesome. Thanks for your work!!

Flashed to give it a try and phone not recognizing 64GB SD card anymore. Flashed back to kernel I was using and all good again.
Any thoughts?

How is your card formatted? The kernel may not recognize that format.

Good to see you here and hope to see your brilliance make our G3's even better devices.
Also are you planning AOSP Android L kernels as they would really be useful as a lot of development is going on in AOSP for G3.
Thanks and regards.

Like bofiana I have a similar problem. Found that Vanir custom ROM would not recognize my Corsair 64GB USB OTG. Went to CM11 and all was good. Then went to SR Remix and Furnace. Drive is not seen. Flashed another kernel and all was good again.
64GB SD and 16GB USB work. I remember reformatting the Corsair inside Android but couldn't tell you what the filesystem is. Assuming FAT32.

Thanks for your contribution savoca! Can't wait to give it a run...
Looking at your thread post history is very impressive! Like many great developers here this is the 1st time I am on the same device as you Glad you are currently developing for the G3!
Just curious... Does this Kernel allow for CPU overclocking?

Cool deal. Latest build works fine with my USB drive now. So I guess it was exFAT on my drive.

Yes sorry about that, original app was flagged for containing "LG".
Been working on some updates, one allowing you to set sharpening without turning the screen off first.
Also working on maintaining d851/cm12 as well.
There will be an update soon.

Updated, check OP. Another thread here for the AOSP builds.

Sweet furnance is aosp for d851!!!!

Thanks for this great kernel. Was using the SkyDragon kernel but that thing ate my battery like crazy. Question though I tried to do the rgb adjustment by doing reboot furnace in the terminal emulator but nothing happened. Is it supposed to reboot the device?

Are you donig this with adb or Terminal Emulator? If adb, just type "adb reboot furnace", and if Terminal Emulator (or another app), "su" followed by "reboot furnace". That will reboot you instantly. Manual reboots will not work as the 'furnace' will send the needed restart code to the bootloader.

Those upgrading from the unofficial ClockworkMod recovery port should note that CWM backups are incompatible with TWRP.
However, if you don’t mind a few more steps, we highly recommend trying out TWRP!

^I think that might be part of the problem. If this guy's recovery is trying to mount /sdcard as ext3, you're gonna have a bad time. In the meantime, nexwave-mat's build of twrp is pretty solid at this point, imho.

My SD card is a 16GB FAT32.
Is it the one that came with your phone? And if so, have you ever reformatted it in your PC? But if this were the case, I'd be surprised if you haven't been having issues with every recovery out there besides bytecode64's CWM, which worked for some reason while the official CWM didn't.

It's not the one that came with the phone. It's a PNY brand. I hadn't formatted it before trying the recovery. I then formatted it in FAT, FAT32, and NTFS. I also tried formatting with the phone and nothing works.
So it's working with CWM just fine?

I can confirm that this recovery does not play well with my MSD card, either. Works fine on reg TWRP and CWM.
That's been my experience as well, mchief298. So assuming this recovery was working properly, what would it offer over nexwave-mat's twrp? I don't really see the need to reinvent the wheel here.
This is TWRP with just a different boot up screen. Nothing is different. Also after installing this my sd-card will not mount in recovery. This is broken

Just kernel
This is kinda strange, I assume when ex-FAT is supported, my 64 gigs SD card is supposed to be able to be read but that's not the case and the only app that I can grant permission is battery stat. BusyBox and AdAway made the phone go into a bootloop. Before this, I used the old build partial root (new method) and root check showed me that it is rooted but no busybox binary.
I'm on JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDE.
rooting
will it work on my i9500DDUAMDK? i am asking this question because in build number version it shows JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDK and in Baseband Version it shows I9500DDUAMDK.

Loading the exFat modules is only half the story, to get them to work you need some additional changes (Cofface didn't actually test an sdcard?). I'll be posting a working kernel hopefully later today or tomorrow.

Wanna hint? I'm not in the Asus any more due to one false delivery and information that EU (ww) version will be shipped in the beginning of May. Hence I don't have phone and can't take any responsibility. But if I had one I'd definitely tried this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
I successfully rooted my Asus Memopad 8 using it and there have been many other testimonies about rooting Intel's Android Phones and tables using tethered recovery.
Following the instruction consistently I think that you can't make a lot of damage. But then, this is my opinion and I didn't try the method myself. Using it means facing alone consequences whatever they are. You may want to check the procedure with an expert before use it.

Oh snap! ? Thanks alot, that might just be the rooting method we've been waiting for but unfortunately I can't test it right now.
More so, I'd advise persons not to jump at this yet since Asus is still issuing updates for needed fixes. However, if anyone is brave and patient enough to give it a shot then be my guest lol, it's great that we finally have a plausible root method.

No problem. Easy peasy. Now to playing
Now that we have root, we can use Tasker to prevent some wake locks like Google services. Also modify a bit our kernel and delete system apps. Thanks to Eurochild for the Tasker mod. Also some pics of my latest benchmark on performance governor, noop i/o and Reno TCP congestion. When we have custom roms this will fly!!!

Just rooted the ze550ml, with the method provided earlier
edit: just tried running gameguardian and greenify, but it says it doesn't have permission. I wonder what's the problem. Though the root checker app says it is rooted
did you install supersu and granted permission to those apps?

Has anyone tried updating over previous build (not EmotionOS based)?

No - And I really don't think that it would be wise - There's a very significant number of changes!
@hsbadr @Pafcholini Normally adding the Nav Bar requires to edit the build.prop by adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Save & Exit - Reboot
But it doesn't seem to work on EmotionOS?
There was a qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in the build.prop (which was also present in hsbadr's CM Based Rom) I deleted it and rebooted again but Nav Bar is still missing?

I think likewise.
But who knows!!!
Both are CM/LineageOS based. Although this includes EmotionOS (which as you say, may be the difference to don't make it work).

Don't touch them - The Devs know more about what's best for the Rom & Kernel... It's not as if they're going to compile it for "so so" performance
If you really want to make some changes - S2W and Fast USB charge in Battery in KA.

I guess the only thing you could do is get a log...
But aside from that issue - This Emotion Rom feels way Smoother than the CM Based Rom... To me anyway.
Also Very happy to see CID gone from the Bootanimation and like the Emotion Bootani!
Nice work and Thanks to @hsbadr @Pafcholini and EmotionOS
For the sake of consistency, should the trltexx fix be renamed to EmotionOS-R1-trltexx-fix? Not important at all, still works as intended, just wondering.
@android-incredible
Please post your questions here in the Q&A Thread... Posting on the Development Thread is Only for bug reports WITH logs - Which is stated in the OP.

Don't know - Haven't had to yet
But it's running great and loving the OMS support - Substratum is Sooo much better than CMTE imho.
Still trying to figure out why build.prop edit isn't working for the Nav Bar ?

Hey guys I read the entire op. The download link is broken. Says can't parse link. Any thoughts or did I miss something.
Edit: never mind would not open in xda app. Had to open in browser. I just switched from tapatalk app to xda. Not sure if they was the issue
