[Q] Samsung 50% off - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm from Australia.. I registered my device on the Samsung website but never got the 50% off.. was going to get the keyboard, is this offer US only? Cheers

I've heard of the %50 deal to, so I tried to sign up and register my devices (Tab S, Note 4 x 2) and couldn't for the life of me get them registered. It kept trying to start an account for servicing, I don't need a service, and I just gave up.
Can you tell me how you registered pls ?

Got my 10.5 registered after talking to a customer service rep. on chat. I previously had a 8.4 but returned that one. I got a 50% discount on both, but only used the one for the last tablet, my 10.5. I did order the keyboard case at half price which is about $79.
Unfortunately, I got a notice the other day that the keyboard case is on backorder. Don't know when I'll get it now.
I'm sorry but I don't know if this offer only applies to USA purchases but I'd get on-line and do a chat to confirm that you can use it from Australia.

Could someone please reply with the link that explains the 50% discount and how to get it. Thanks

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/register/product

Must be Signed in.
Don't forget that to use discount codes on Samsung, you must also be Signed In at the time with your account information, or the code will not work.

I really think it only applies to the US. I've been wanting a discount on the keyboard so I could purchase one already but it looks like they don't have the keyboard here in the Philippines but I'm gonna need to ask them and find help.

Samsung Promo?

Has anyone successfully registered for the guaranteed 200 from Samsung at https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/note4/ ?
No matter how I format the MEID & wifi mac address the site says it's wrong. I finally got frustrated and opted for the mail in method, but that's a pain in the butt.
I had exactly the same experience. Thank you for posting. I was getting myself wound up that my rebate was going to be rejected. Now I'm more confident it's just an error with the rebate site.
I'm going to try tomorrow. Maybe since its still within the pre-order phase?

You get the value of the phone at the store you preordered from.
That info you take to the Samsung site with you and you get 200 minus what you got from store trade in value. In 6 to 8 weeks that is...

I wasn't asking about how the rebate works. I know that part and what I have to upload. Just asking if anyone else is having a problem with the site not accepting the meid & wifi mac address and I'm not alone.

didn't accept mine either. I am going to mail in. I preordered the phone on sprints website but I traded in at my local sprint store. I hope the preorder confrimation email i got from sprint will count as my preorder receipt. not quite sure what they want.
My apologies, read it wrong.
so now that we have established that the meid/wifi mac issue happened to more than just one of us.......what paperwork should i sign, date, print name, circle price on if i preordered on the sprint website? Am i to assume the email confirmation from my order w/ the price needs to be printed and mailed in? all i know is my local sprint store only gave me $79 for my Note II so i had better get this samsung rebate. otherwise i would have just sold my phone on ebay.
Any update on the IMEI error. Did samsung fix it yet? i prefer to submit the rebate online because it is faster to receive the rebate than the mail in.
Getting the same problem here too, hopefully they fix it
I got it too and opted for the mail in, what a pain. Tried every variant. It must be them. BTW here is their #8 on the FAQ for the promotion.
8. Why am I getting the message “IMEI/HEX MEID# invalid?”
Check that you have entered each digit of the IMEI or HEX MEID correctly. Please note,
you may also need to remove the ‘0x’ from the “HEX MEID” at the beginning of the
number before entering. If you continue to receive an invalid IMEI/HEX MEID message
and believe you have a valid offer claim, you can mail in you offer claim with the Official
Offer Claim Form at the bottom of the Terms and Conditions.
I preorder mine on bestbuy.com so how should I do this? Wait to receive new one (because of needed IME info from new phone), than take S2 to bestbuy and trade in? Akso S2 is rooted but program says "any working phone"?
not working here either...going to mail it in and take forever.
register mail?
I plan on waiting a few business days for Samsung to get their website fixed. I think that mailing the rebate in now is a little premature. Plus missing two days in the mail really isn't going to make a big deal overall.
Me too.. i'll wait until next week. Hopefully they fix it. lol
not alone

I spent three hours yesterday trying to upload different ways. Sprint wouldnt help and samsung cust service said they couldn't either. After numerous phone calls.
Has ANYONE been successful in submitting their info on that form?
Still same problem . I tried 5 times till i gave up and send it by mail certified with delivery confirmation lol.
Looks like the site is down for "maintenance"...
maybe that means they FINALLY realized theres a problem?
Who wants to take bets on whether the site works or not after their "maintenance" period?
Is it working now?

Samsung Protection Plus. Note 7 ineligible device?

Here's the thing, I want to get rid of my and my wife's ugly screen protectors and only use our covers. We did this with the Note 4 and haven't seen a scratch in the years we owned them.. but, with the scary reports about the Gorilla Glass used on the N7, I'm wondering if this is such a good idea without insurance (considering our N4s did drop from time to time and have minor damage (scratches) on the sides).
I was thinking of going with Samsung Protection Plus, which seems like a decent option (especially compared to AT&Ts overly expensive insurance - which is totally pointless with the high cost and high deductible IMHO), Samsung offers $129 for two year insurance and a doable deductible. Going to their page: http://www.samsung.com/us/owners/protection-plus/ shows the Note 7 is supposed eligible. But when you click the button to go to the next page, the Note 7 isn't listed anymore. If I then enter my IMEI and run the check, it states that my device isn't eligible. Kind of curious considering it was purchased through AT&T and it is a device not affected by the recall (it's one of the replacements), so logically I'd think it should be eligible.
So I'm wondering, did anyone here get insured through Samsung at all? If not, could you see what the IMEI check does with you, see if you're eligible or ineligible... I'm wondering if it is just a few people who have this or if Samsung is actively blocking Note 7s from their insurance as a result of their recall.
Thanks in advance!
I had insurance on my original Note 7 through Samsung. Now that I am trying to get it on my replacement phone I am getting the same error as you. I suspect that this is the result of the recall as they probably been doing a lot of tweaking with serial number databases to keep track of the good and bad but of course calling samsung was of no help

Yeah I read that about calling Samsung, people being send back and forth between Asurian and Samsung, after reading the complaints about calling them, I skipped trying that number as it would likely not help at all.
I'm starting to wonder if they're simply putting a stop to the entire protection for the Note 7 until they start selling them publicly again..
I am guessing there will be a myriad of adjustments needed to the policies covering this phone. It is likely they will insure the replacement ones once they have the exchange program out of the way. It might be worth checking other phone/gadget insurance companies in the meantime even if just temporarily. Though there is so much knee jerking going on over this phone by companies and organisations that you might hit a few barriers or over inflated premium fees.
I have the replacement note 7 with Verizon, when trying to purchase Protection Plus, the website said my imei was not compatible. I first did an online chat with Samsung and they gave me a number to assurant solutions who handles the claims for Samsung. They told me they only do claims and cannot sell me the Protection Plus plan. I then called Samsung and was transferred around to several different people all of whom had no clue what was going on, I ended up at tech support and he told me to take it to a best buy and see if the Samsung employee there could help. As a last resort I tried the Samsung+ video chat from my phone, this actually worked quite well, spoke with a guy who said he was aware of the issue and there isnt a fix yet. Note 7's aren't currently eligible for protection plus. Quite a hassle and despite Samsung's website saying that the note 7 is eligible for protection plus you can't get it on your phone yet.

I had the protection plan on the first one, but it said the replacement was not eligible. I had a similar experience with Samsung and got the run around. Finally i got a sales person that emailed me a link to purchase the protection plan. It just was in my cart. I checked out. It did not ask me for an imei number. The sales lady said that in 1-3 days I should get an email to enter my imei. We will see if that works. Paid with PayPal so I feel protected if this doesn't work. They said this is a known issue.

Is it a generic link that you could post?
To keep things simple, I ordered and got a full refund on my original Note7 Protection + plan. It was done through their e-commerce. Now I will decide which plan to get on the new one.

Let me know if it works for you. I still haven't been able to add an imei number but at least I have a receipt that I did purchase insurance.

It seems to work, but an imei is indeed not possible be added. Add on top of this that they state on top "Protection Plus – Note 3/4/5/Edge, S6 edge, S6 edge+", which would imply the S7, S7 Edge and Note 7 are not covered (or gives them wiggle room to deny any claim coming from any of those owners).
I want that insurance, but not sure I'm willing to go with this direct link considering they specifically name only some of the phones.

I was told that I would get an email in 1-3 days and would be able to put in my imei number. I felt ok, since I still have the email from Samsung telling me to use this link and I paid with paypal. I will let you know when/if I am able to put in my imei number.
I seem to recall seeing similar missing Note 7 references when I purchased my original protection plus plan as I was a little worried, but decided it was just Samsung being slow to update their webpage.

Not yet, I got a welcome, but still not able to enter my imei number. I was going to call, but I am sorta not wanting to waste my time.....as I am waiting to see what happens with the reports of the replacement note 7 catching on fire. Thinking there might be another recall and this is a mute point as I would have to cancel this too.
Created a new thread about this a week back but I guess no one saw it
I just went with Squaretrade.
I purchased protection plus using the link that was provided in an earlier post. Received two emails stating that my coverage was now active but I have yet to enter an imei so the policy number they gave me isn't associated with a specific device. Will probably give them a call this weekend and see what needs to be done, I'm not optimistic that I will get anywhere.

Samsung Note 7 sm-n930fd International version not being accepted by Samsung US

Hello we are an business stuck with "60 pieces" of the famous Samsung Note 7 interational version, imported from Singapore. model sm-n930fd (black, gold, silver).
Since day 1 (September) #recallprogam for note 7 we start dealing with Samsung US, first as business didn't work, then as a consumer, didn't work.
After they announce the full recall we start again, contacting Samsung Singapore, Samsung US,
- so far Singapore helps (replies email and follow up the case)
- Samsung US, delays the case. already like 5 tickets numbers, operator mention 24 to 48 hrs, then 5 to 7 business days, after the due date, cancel the ticket and starts a new one. it becomes and never ending loop.
they promise a supervisor will contact you, the case has been escalated, but is not moving . we submit proof of purchases, imeis. do you imagine read 60 x2 (dual simcards) imeis over the phone? :crying:
Somebody else is having the same issue?
We contact us consumer product safety comission, help me howard, twitter account, etc.
You must make you feel out loud by Samsung USA because i.e Samsung Italy is refunding WHATEVER Note 7 from around the world (provided that you show how much you spent with some documentation of course) without question!
Well, I think that if you go to Singapore, you would be able to turn each in for nearly 1100$. But you don't have but til the 8th of November to do so. I called and they offered to refund my money but not trade...they told me to go to the US side to trade. I have actually ran into several reports of S7 edge (the phone I would want to get if I did trade) exploding/burning up. I have also read reports that over 26 incidents of the originally note 7s were BS reports. see http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech...false-reports-note7-fires-one-which-singapore http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-samsung-received-26-false-reports-note7-fires-one-which-singapore for details. I have decided thus far to keep mine. I have had not one indication that my Note 7 is anymore dangerous than any other phone I have every owned. ALL phones have a chance of burning up when you recharge them or put them under heavy loads of use. Just look it up. Now should I decide to trade my phone in, I end up loosing in on the deal...since I can buy a single sim (I have dual now) S7 edge for less than 600$ and the thank you from the US side is a 100$ plus 50$ keeping with the brand thing... In my opinion, not worth it when I am confident that the phone I have now and have had for over a month (and charge all the time at work and in the car) is safe. If it were going to blow up, it would have done so already, like reports we have heard (while this is not the one I was looking to show, this will do for now), http://www.computerworld.com/article/3134530/android/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-phones-are-catching-fire-too-2-fires-in-the-last-week.html Like I said earlier... ALL phones are potential bombs without proper care and cautions.

You need to call Samsung Singapore before the 6th. Singapore time and start the refund process. They may issue the refund before you even return the phones. They will mail you a check to Singapore and you need your Tax Payer ID exclusive to that country. That information is listed in their site http://www.samsung.com/sg ?

Samsung Singapore:-" With regards to the information you append in your earlier reply, we would suggest you to contact Samsung US whom will advice on the exchange process further. We assure you that we will be assisting all Galaxy Note 7 customers in the exchange, regardless of your residing country. / [email protected]

Gosh! Thats terrible what Samsung is doing to their Sellers. However at least you contacted Samsung Singapore before the deadline. The item itself is not hazardous. Its just defective and banned from airlines. I recommend to just let Samsung get around your claim and give them time. Maybe they have bigger more expensive claims that require faster response like the big phone companies or the people collecting damages.

I understand, I would love to keep it, but I missed to root it prior to their damn softwareupdates.
Samsung AT is insane, they still give you that recommendation. I went trough the from which also allows you to get you money back.
But at the very end you have to accept the terms which state that the phone has been purchased in Austria only. So this form can not apply if you got it from Dubai.
I made them aware of this already on several occasions.
SamAT seems to be quite disconnected from the rest of the company and they don't really know what they are doing or want to do...
I don't have tested the formular - I was weeks before in contact with Samsung AE and told them, no Airline will transport my N7. Samsung AE has contact SamAT and they contact my office (I was unfortunately not in the office, they spoke with my secretary)
I have rooted all my Note devices, because I like to have my own "look and feels" with own launcher (Apex) - my Note 7 has the same look like my ferst Note until Note 4. No Samsung Software updates is OK for me, all costom roms does what I need and special things I realize 99% with Xposed

Samsung's grey-market sales policies are legend. They provide no support or warranty service for devices sold outside their selling region. They also provide no support for any products not purchased from an authorized reseller. Anyone importing a Samsung phone from another region should know the risks - it's not like it's a secret.

This late in the game and after already losing $5B+ I agree Samsung should have a program in place to help people who imported or bought third party even though it's against their support guidelines.
I hope this is a less for those that bought/buy Samsung products third party. You might pay more up front to get a legitimate device but as the Note7 example shows there are huge risks on the back-end should something go south.
I always have accepted the risks of purchasing it overseas. Also rooting was a conscious choice every time. I never expected to have any warranty.
However Samsung pushed updates that made the device unusable. I also accepted the liability if the phone would really start burning, even took precautions and have extinguishers everywhere where I charge the phone.
But now it can only be charged to 60% and you get endless warnings, etc.
This is not what i purchased and it is not usable anymore, so I expect to be able to return it...
Hope it will end well for everyone...
Today I called again to my friends in Samsung US, they give me a new ticket number, one more time.. lol. so far said the supervisors are reviewing my case. has been escalated. We always import from phones and never an issue, but these note 7 is killing us very badly. Samsung us told me I will receive a large box, containing the small boxes, the company handling the recall is : Stericycle 877-860-1200, then they will pass the information to Samsung for issue the check,. of course we talk about timing.. 5 to 7 business days times (wait for box), (wait to review) (wait for check) I will be waiting like 2 months..

Free Wireless Charger (9W)

Hi everyone,
I wanted to tell you that Samsung Online Shop has a card up their sleeve if you get into a discussion with their support and seem unhappy or find an error in their system.
I made a pre-order with S9+ trade-in and used a split payment option. After a couple of days I noticed that I did not select the Samsung Upgrade and if I do it does not change the price and the customer must take a split payment anyway. I talked to Samsung Support and asked if we can change it without making problems with the split payment which has already been confirmed. At first we had a small argument that it is not possible to order with Trade-in and Samsung UP combined. I provided them a screenshot via email that it is possible and they cancelled my pre-order so that the split payment provider does not have a problem with me. I made a new order including Trade-in, Samsung UP and the support guy sent me a link to generate a code for a wireless charger. I generated it, added into the cart and ordered. After two hours I got an answer via email to the screenshot that I have sent earlier and got another code for the wireless charger (yay). The trick is that the code can only be used when you order a S20 so I played the game and wrote back that the code came to late and cannot be used because the order has already been placed. Samsung support employee wrote back that they will add it to the order but it needs to be forwarded to another department, sales department/customer relations I assume. After 3 days I asked if there is any status update for my case and an employee answered me kind of rude and off the topic. I politely answered and explained what is the case and why her answer is not accurate, and another Sales/CR person contacted me, apologized and assured me that the charger will be added but it takes some time because the order is already placed. I answered nicely that I understand, everyone can make an error and that even if they forget it because of the amount of pre-orders I will inform them nicely. They thanked for the good words.
So now I have a double proof for my second charger and I hope they forget it so that after I get my S20 I can ask them: Hey, where is the charger you have promised? Hopefully they will send it and give another code to say sorry
TL;DR: Samsung Support has an option to give the customers a free Wireless Charger to a S20 pre-order if you play your cards right. If you get lucky then maybe you can get two but I will let you know if it worked.

Nice? How did u chat with them? Thru shop Samsung app or on Samsung.com? I wouldn't mind trying this because I had so many issues over night trying to order 2 of the Sprint S20 Ultras

Pre-Order LTE w/Keyboard Discount?

All,
I am trying to get a 7+ with Verizon, and right now you can't pre=order, just "reserve". This isn't tied to your account, so there is no way to get the keyboard discount. Is there a way to do this? If they don't take pre-orders, is there a way to get the discounted keyboard?
Be a shame to have to order and return the wifi one just to get the keyboard discount.
You can order the Verizon version direct from Samsung and take advantage of the discount.

Not now you can't, the the discount is for pre-orders. Thus my query...
all the s7+s i see on samsung are WIFI only , even the carrier variants. when you look at the specs it only lists wifi.
i asked samsung via chat and was told the 15th or thereabouts the 5G versions would be up.
im happy to be wrong and if i am ,please correct me.
im trying to get the 5G 512gb version with the keyboard setup also. preferably not tied to a carrier.
Looks like you can pre-order every varianet but Verizon. Of course
