Onda v919 Air 3G Dual Boot 9.7" 2048x1536 px - Z3736F - 3G - Android/Windows - Device Reviews and Information

I've just received my Onda V919 Air 3G, only the 32GB version is in stock at the time of writing this which I got from Geek Buying here: Mod edit: link removed (commercial advertisement not allowed) There seems to be supply issues as the system was delayed a few times by Onda and the 64GB model is still about 2 weeks off from shipping out.
I think it's a promising looking system that could do with some custom roms and XDA Love The OS switch button seems to just reboot the tablet in the OS, it's not really a non reboot on the fly OS switch like Onda claim it is! It's only a bit faster than the Teclast OS dual boot switch due to not having the dual boot menu to go through. However if you want to boot to Android and you shutdown in Windows, you have to load Windows then do the switch, no direct menu on boot to jump to Android, this is slower than Teclast's approach!
Edit: The latest bios update adds a dual boot start up selector menu if you hold volume up on boot.
First impressions:
So far my initial impressions are generally good, the system is more of an iPad Air clone than the X98 Air 3G is in terms of its looks. I''ll be putting the tablet through it's paces so far I can report that:
Pros:
Nice build quality, better than my X98 Air 3G (Feels more solid)
Captive home button for Android and Windows start button is a nice addition.
Light rom for a Chinese tablet.
Fast Hynix 32GB eMMC drive - 160mbs read and 80 write)
Cons:
Slightly larger gap (0.1-0.2mm?) between the screen and touch panel Vs the Teclast X98 Air 3G
No HDMI output
Some connectivity issues with my home Wireless N router, a few limited connections in Windows.
Battery life a good 1-2 hours less than the Teclast X98 Air 3G depending on use.
You have to remove the plastic top cover when removing sd cards and your Wifi and 3G aerial is there, so you will loose signal!

ga tau nih ntar masuknya kena pajak brp. kmrn itu ambil teclast x98 kena pajak 560rb. gelooo...

Is the battery cell capacity indeed 6000 mAh? Because when I Iook on the Onda website in the textual specifications it states 7000 mAh.

This one might have HSPA capabilities with T-Mobile in the US. I am hoping someone can confirm soon.

No Gps and no hdmi out. I'm having issues with Windows and a limited connection on Wifi or it disconnecting, Android however runs fine. Play Store works out of the box and the rom is nice and responsive.
After Windows updates I ran out of disk space for some reason, I'm doing a factory reset. I had around 8GB free to start with.

I'm hoping for the same, there is also the Cube i6 dual OS 9.7 retina tablet coming which Cube claim will be the best dual OS retina tablet.... I have seen other Cube products and they are good

Still on the win8.1 chinese from onda, I might have to install my own Windows if I can't get past these issues. My micro sd card doesn't seem to work well on it either for some reason, just teething issues I hope!

based on my own estimation teclast, 30% are defective product
the fastmode fix is a joke, since with this pseudo patch the tablet run slower but dont freeze but only in android ... still freezing under win8.1
teclast cant be trusted anymore .... i will advoid this brand in futur ...
anyway teclast are very weak about software/firmware .....
ist seem teclast focus about sale and $$ ... and dont care much about customer

Well I've a rather big issue, I factory reset my Windows install due to Windows update eating up all of my free space and as a result I dont have the OS switch working. Any ideas on how to install the OS switch, I have no access to Windows now
The link to Insyde DualOSSwitcher.exe is there in the toolbar, but the folder and app is missing!

Windows 7 on TouchPro2

Seems like a dumb question, but does anyone know where I can get it for the TouchPro2?
Thanks for any input
Uhm, ahem....yes.
Do you mean Windows Phone 7 perhaps? If that is the case then no, you cannot and likley never will (save for some truely herculean effort by some xda dev) be able to get that running on your TP2.
If you meant regular Windows 7, you might want to pick up a laptop...
Well, I had Windows Mobile 6.5 atm, and I was just wanting to upgrade to 7. Is this possible?

"7" isn't going to be released for months yet, and even when it is, there won't be an official version for the TP2, the only way you'll be able to get it is if some xda developers manage to stuff it into this hardware, which is well below the minimum specs MS has said 7 will require to run.
Currently of course no because WP7 is not out for any phone yet.
But as I said even in the future this is unlikely as WP7 has strict hardware requirements (specifically the 1ghz snapdragon cpu and capacitive multi-touch screen) that the TP2 does not meet. It is perhaps conceivable that someone here will manage a hacked port with minimal functionality at some point, but I doubt if it would ever be complete or usable.
If you had an HD2 on the other hand, I'd say there's a good chance of being able to upgrade at some point.
Oh, maybe putting windows 7 in there was the wrong word. Is there anyway to update to the latest version of windows? Cause I installed something, and it said I needed the later version of it. Any ideas?
If you want latest 6x windows find your fav ROM n flash it. 6.5 is at 21901 and 6.5.5 is at 23563. I dont think a higher number is a later build between the two. 21xxx ROM's in my opinion r more stable. Its all in taste
What did you install? You probably just need the latest version of the .NET Compact Framework, which you can grab here.
I would like to know where to get Windows 7 OS on my Touch Pro 2. I need it because it will support my graphics card better.

Also looking for Touch Pro 2 drivers for my 5.25 floppy drive.
Rory, why don't you design a HTC HD4 that has WP7 or higher, HTC TouchFlo 3.5 or higher, CDMA-GSM- WiMax, 100GB LAN, 1GB RAM, 1GB ROM, 32 GB Storage, support for up to 10TB Micro SDXC Card, full 1080P video, Holographic Display, at least a 2 GHZ Quad core CPU, USB 3.0 or higher, HDMI, Bluetooth 2.0 or higher, 2 GB video card, full sliding and tilting keyboard, and a 10,000 MAH battery. And while you are at it, have it cooled with Liquid Nitrogen and Liquid Helium. Then maby this might satisfy your needs. And yes I know this is a wise crack, but all in fun though.

What sort of things do you need windows for that you don't think you can do on a tablet.
In answer to your question an x86 based windows tablet (excluding the surface pro) should theoretically be able to run the x86 port of android but it's not going to be the sort of experience you are thinking of.
If you want windows buy a laptop.
If you want android buy a tablet.
we are simply not to the point where you can have both of those worlds on one device. you can do full desktop linux on most android tablets but the experience is usually quite bad.
That being said this tablet will provide an impressively robust computing experience thanks to multi-window and the s-pen but it's no replacement for a laptop for some work.
as far as remote clients go Spashtop is the best performing one I've found it can even handle games and video playback somewhat smoothly

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splashtop.remote.pad Tablet version

It's called the ATIV Q, and it combines Android 4.2 and Windows 8, with equal parts tablet and typing. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Haswell-series Intel Core i5 processor and manages to fit a 13.3-inch, 3,200 x 1,800 touchscreen into a 1.29kg package that measures just 13.9mm thick. Other notable specs include an S Pen with 1,024 degrees of sensitivity.
Very Nice. Now if they can keep it under $700.00 I might bite.

[REVIEW] PiPO X7 Quadcore Windows Box for less than $100

Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of reviewing the PiPO X7 and have decided to share my findings as so many people are asking questions about this tiny Windows PC.
You can see me booting it and navigating through Windows here:
I have found it excellent so far. Windows is nice and smooth, web browsing is really good and Kodi performance is great! Video playback is generally excellent unless the codec is too taxing on the limited CPU.
Let me know what you think: http://hometheatrelife.com/pipo-x7-review/
I'll keep updating it as I progress and won't give a final score until I'm satisfied.
Hi,
I bought this PiPO (actually the faster X7s, with a boosted speed of 2.16 GHz) for my fiancé for her work.
However, even after upgrading to Windows 10 both the RAM and CPU are almost constantly at 90%+ when she has splitcam running.
Seeing as her PiPO is next to the passive cooling, located on a laptop cooler (so the heat should not be a problem), does anybody know how to (more or less) permanently boost the speed to 2.16 Ghz? Any software settings in Win 10 I missed? Or maybe any Intel / third party software to make it always run at boosted speed?
Next to that the PiPO box states it currently has 2 GiB of DDR3 memory, and seeing a DDR3 strip of 4/8 GiB is not that expensive I was thinking about just adding more RAM. Does anybody know if it is possible to upgrade the RAM?
Does the MoBo support more RAM, or would I need to flash the BIOS maybe?
Thanks in advance.

Shipping of the first units should start around the middle of November - at least according to one reseller.
Quite a shame I went for the Vi10 Pro 64GB Z3736F, when this is coming around in a month (from China to Europe in 2 months with shipping?) for a bit extra price.

Impossible specs, cherry trail z8300 processor will not take 4gb ram ? if it was the cherry trail z8500 processor then it will take 4gb ram,so at the moment the specs are very unreal, also i thought this tablet was a 10.6 inch screen,it's down as a 10.1 ?
The price will be around $200. Pretty good for what you get if you ask me. Don't be fooled by these overpriced offers at Aliexpress. Banggood is a legit site and listed it at price below $190! And they marked the battery as a real 6800mah, not 8000mah. I 100% trust them rather than these sellers on Aliexpress having questinable reputation.
Could I technically Android and create a dual boot of windows/Linux mint on this?
I think that the real question, is wether the tablet has the z8300 or the z8500.
Because, as it has allready been said, the z8300 does not support 4gb ram
Anyone has any knowledge on that fact?

So search for "techtablets intel z8300 4g".
"
Many of the new Cherry Trail Tablets due to be released soon like the Chuwi Hi10 have Atom X5 Z8300’s in them, but with 4GB of Ram. I originally thought this must have been a typo, or it was the Z8500, as it supports up to 8GB of Ram. Well it seems the X5 Z8300 can indeed support 4GB of Ram, although Intel’s Ark claims it’s limited to 2GB & single channel.
"
see pictures of live operation system screenshots with 4GB.
The sellers "4GB" claims seem to be legit.
Eagerly awaiting the release of this to make my decision on getting one or going with the Teclast X98 Pro.

I'm just worried about the battery. Some people say 8000mAh and others say 6500mAh. Battery life won't be good if it's only 6500mAh.

I'm not an expert, but I did see that it has an 8000mAh battery rated at 6500mAh. Not sure what that means, but it sounds less than stellar for battery life.

Bought from China Microsoft Tmall during 11th Nov festival, with a free bluetooth keyboard.
Update:
After some time of using it, so far the screen flickering is the issue most people having.
Some other issues such as black screen after sleep (it's half wake, but not showing login menu), and screen will off randomly while using bluetooth keyboard.

Is it okay to post a review of the HP Pavilion eh1070wm laptop

Recently purchased a hp pavilion eh1070wm laptop from Walmart as it was on sale for 599$ and needed a upgrade my 2011 MacBook Pro well technically mid 2010 but was manufactured in early 2011. The hp has as base 8gb of ram but can be upgraded to 32gb of ddr 4 3200mhz and can actually handle a 2tb Samsung evo 970 nvme drive as I thought with that capacity and faster speeds vs original that it would overheat apparently not which I’m glad it can handle it just fine so far. Went from 512gb to 2tb and ram upgrade as mentioned before . Well if I’m allowed since there’s barely any reviews for it out in the wild I will do one if this gets enough votes, and people wanting me to do so. Forgot to mention it has a AMD Ryzen 5700u with boost clock up to 4.2 ghz though base is 1.8. Hopefully this helps someone wondering about this model. Geekbench 5 scores and how it looks are in the attached images. If anyone wants a review of this laptop be free to let me know if I’m in the green to proceed

One more thing this laptop can run Linux but a few caveats. For the Wi-Fi you need a Linux kernel module driver for the rtl card which I’m on my phone, so tomorrow I will tell you guys which card it has. Hopefully the next Linux kernel release adds this card for support if not no real big deal at least for me. Also it states it comes with a intel wireless card if you look up the laptop model on hps site, but if your like me and bought from Walmart new than you may get the Realtek version. One more thing it does indeed come with windows 11 not 10 as it stated, but your shipment may come with 10 and the intel wireless card so
Also for those that may have this laptop, look here for help In getting Linux running as someone on GitHub and Reddit that has a Lenovo laptop with similar specs got it working but needed to do a few things but it’s possible at least. It’s a wonderful windows 11/10 business laptop out of the box. Also it can do some light gaming like forza 5 at medium and a setting or two at high with about 33-40 fps at 1080p and halo master chief collection with all halo games so far on normal with 45-60 fps. I’m gonna stop as I basically did a mini review.

I saw something in the forum rules about no promotion so I’m just making sure. I see many others doing device reviews so I’m guessing it’s fine to do so.

Hi! I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop and this model caught my attention because of the technical specifications. I have a question, how is the battery life? I'm going to give it heavy use for development (nodejs and javascript) under Ubuntu 20.04. You recommend me ?

I would suggest running latest the Linux kernel on which ever distro you decide to run. I Found latest ubuntu 20.04 lts works well with Kde plasma haven't tested other distros but one thing to consider is that the Wifi Chipset is a RTL8852AE Wifi 6. Some others come with the intel one I just got a bit unlucky but after looking for the kernel module for this and researching I found as long as you do tethering to the laptop from a phone or connect a WIFI dongle temporarily that's all ready in the kernel and follow the instructions the internal wifi will work. Everything else Audio, Usb C, Trackpad, Keyboard, Web Cam thought only 720p but hardware fault, and etc works out of the box at least. Heres the wifi driver.

Battery life on power saver or balanced CPU governor is about 4 to 5 hours depending on use. If you decide to go for performance than battery life is more like 2 to 3 with heavy use. I mainly bought this laptop as a desktop replacement which works great for me because the Usb C does HDMI and I have the laptop screen so I have a total of 3 screens when needed and the Cpu, Apu, and Memory for great performance comparable to the Ryzen 7 5700G but more like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600G which is perfect for me when it comes to compiling and such. I usually use this laptop plugged in with my monitor setup except when I need to go somewhere which these days and remote work is usually never especially with Covid. Some point I plan to organize this thread or create one for reviewing this Laptop. Depending on what people want I will probably just keep this as is and change the title/heading to HP Pavilion EH1070WM Laptop review. Also sorry its been a month I have been busy lately with online college along side with work.
