anyone know where to buy the replacement for the camera of HTC One M7 Sprint version ?, I have understood that the 801E is not compatible with the Sprint model .

I found the secret place where you can disassembly your M7 so easly.
1- Take the sim tray out
2- put your tool between the sim tray and the screen and go all the way down
I will try to upload pictures this week

How long did it took for you to slowly disassemble the whole phone?

Look or download this video and see all disassembly and carefully. Need good Tools. Don't brock your PARTS. This video is my way and i made it.

Hi Guys,
I need some advice on the subjected problem. I have an HTC One m7 801s handheld device. After 2.5 yrs the battery was bleeding out and I had the pink tint problem as many other early devices did.
So I decided to upgrade those two parts of the device since the rest of the phone was pleasant for me.
I ordered an alleged 2800mAh battery from Aliexpress (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...NE-M7-802D-802T-802W-801E-801S/526641029.html) and a replacement camera module.
On a quiet Sunday morning I did the operation and the patient survived however the camera module did not work as expected.
Please see the attached pics. After I started taking photos the edge of the pic remained blurry then as I tried to focus on closer items I discovered the camera did not go back to its original position and finally it ended up only making macro photos.
Do you think it could be the problem of assembly or simply a hardware problem in the replacement camera module?

It is new camera module broblem. This issus not having your pink problem camera?

Could be the settings or try a camera app see if it takes pictures normally.

I picked up a 2014 manufactured version of The developers Edition after alot of complaints about the pink tint in the 2013 early versions. Even though this is a developer's Edition I was hit by that bug.
Right now I think the battery and camera are what I need to replace. Where do you suggest we find these parts? Author of this post pointed out a camera module from AliExpress, what about the battery? And like hell I don't want to open the case up, I messed up my iPhone doing that a while back.

Camera replacement
I didn't do it myself. Nor would I suggest anyone to do it at home or makeshift repair shop. The M7 has very beautiful build design and it would be a shame to ruin it.
I gave the phone at the HTC Pune service centre. Got it back without a scratch. They charge you extra for non India specific device... I don't know why.

[EXPERIMENT]Replacing Cam Module w/ Defy Cam module to get working camera

http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Motorola-Defy-MB525-Camera-p/mot1038910.htm
There you go. This part is $15.29. If someone is brave enough to do this, you will need a t5 torx screwdriver and anything that you think would help.
I'm not really sure that just replacing the cam module will provide a working camera for the MIUI and CM7 Defy ROMs, but it seems a good $30ish project to try! Plus you get a way nicer 5mp cam with 720p video record!
Excellent experiment, why dont you try it? I think that no everybody will be a guinea pig for this
I have disassembled some moto android phones, but this is my first time with a bravo, I have to change the digitizer because it is broken but still works, but I dont think I could give a try to that!

They are also on ebay. I would this work, it would be awsome!
So was it successful, did the new module come with a clip?
I just brought a yellow lens from china, also wanting to try it out
I really hope someone tries this. If it works I'll give up $30 easy!
I'm not desperate, but I really feel that we will be a long time using our bravos with gingerbread without a working camera.

So basically, you cannot just swap out the module, but the motherboard???
Is there any link to this, I need to find out.
I just brought an amber lens and I'm itching to swap it out. But the housing/clip on the module didn't come with the module I brought.
On the YouTube video, it said do not re-use cam module housing, thing is no one sells it!?

Didn't other people tells us not to unlock, root and put custom roms on our phones? Did that stop us? No. Try reusing the housing. If you didn't break or bend it too much.......
BTW. I haven't had the extra $ to get the module or I would have done it already. Also would anyone be so kind as to give me a guide for disarming the thing? I want to get the kit to make it take dual sims or dual sd cards. Seen one on the internet somewhere some dude had 4 16gb cards in his phone. Think about it. A phone with 64gb worth of storage. wow. That's more than my hd on my computer.

The pins? Or what? 8x8 pins on Defy module, 8x8 on Bravo. My guess is it'll go right in. So is someone going to try this? I might just do it if nobody else does.
And look here at 0:43 - looks simple enough. Not sure about that camera retainer though.

I was talking about the pins on the inside of the block. Not the gold pins around the outside of it. Do they do anything? The Bravo just has three round contact points. The Defy has several receptor looking things.

Camera Fault - Yellow tint in corners during the shot and in the pics ?

Hey all,
I'm new to the forum. Did a search for this but did not get any hits.
I had an issue with one corner of my screen perpetually displaying a yellow tint while using the main camera that also translated onto the actual pictures.
Didnt see this on the front camera. So I assumed this is a one of hardware issue.
The dealer had the phone replaced 2 days after I bought it with a new piece (Part of their 7 Days - No questions asked guarantee). So far the issue hasn't surfaced.
I've tweeted HTC, but haven't got a response yet. Here is a pic with the tint in the top right corner - pic.twitter.com/epsvQRlP
Has anyone experienced the same issue. I know I've already got a replacement but in case this crops up again. I just wanted to make sure that this is a hardware fault.
Awaiting your thoughts / experiences.
Cheers.
well the yellow tints appeared on mine after 3 days of use. I replaced it with a new one. Thats all i can say, Some other people faced the same issue but told me that they waited for another week and the tints seemed to dissapear after some days.
Can you post a photo indicating the issue?

Compare the top right corner near the couch and curtains to the bottom left. The room was evenly lit.
I had yellow tint when I used the flash, but this only happened withthe flash returned and got a replacement still yellow not as bad but had gps probs so replaced that on 3rd started off yellow with flash but now when I wait for the metering to settle down seems to be ok so seems third time lucky for me

Lets hope the second times a charm for me. And if there is a recurrence, it happens before the 7 days are up....
I'm interested to know what the experience was like from someone who had the issue go away after a couple of days. It kinda sounds like a break-in period for the camera sensor (similar to buysing a new car).... Has it completely vanished after repeated use ?
Can you take a picture of pure white background e.g. like wall, sky?

need a couple of pictures to see the problem! one picture doesnt help
My newest one x has this problem, any improvement with the latest ota?
I only see a yellow tint with shots taken indoors. Outside they are just fine.
My One X got the yellow problem when using the led flash. Comparing to my old desire, the flash in one X is more yellowish. It may be able to be rectified through software updates, setting the correct white balance for the LED flash. Hope HTC will solve that through the next update
try camera options, image adjustments, saturation set on -1
got the yellow **** when shooting with flash me too... without flash the pic looks ok, but when flash is on, skin become yellow, very ugly
I think your problem is linked to the white balance which is ****ed up.
I take some screenshots of the camera app phone with different white balance option like bellow:
The photos is taken without flash in front of my wall which is normally white.
Only the auto option is OK for me, the other options shows my wall yellowish or blueish.
I don't know if it is caused by the Eternity's kernel in my phone, have you have the same issues ?
Edit: No I didn't painted my wall in yellow or blue
same problem for me ... when I use flash it shows yellow photo ...I asked in service station but they say this phone is not to take pics in dark.. not ready to change phone.
Ok, I took some pictures outside and I can conclude the white balance option should be used at outdoor condition.
There are a few differences on the white which can be colder or warmer between the photos but not as strong as the screenshots above.

Is there a hardware issue with the z1c camera and LED flash?

Good morning,
in a german forum android-hilfe.de there is a thread with pictures taken by a lime z1c with led light - all of the pictures have a yellow shine.
For me this looks like an hardware issues on ALL the z1c devices of the first charges but maybe in the black one the problem is not easy to see.
What do you guys think about that?
Here is the link to the thread with the pictures in first post:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/sony-xp...ei-der-verarbeitung-kamera-bilder-inside.html
Could the be a major issue of this brand new device?
GSMArena complained about some issues with their review model. My white one doesn't have any of these issues, seems fine to me
What the !?

I sometimes get a slight blueish shot but that's because of the.auto mode and not a hardware issue. Transfer the image to snapped and increase the warmth. Problem solved

It is a hardware issue. The problem is the back of the device. It reflects the flash light which then hits the camera lens.
I can create pictures under the same conditions with my Xperia T - but I don't get that fog-effect.

Tried various settings, all the same. I still think this might be resolved by new firmwares in the near future. If it would be some kind of hardware issue, wouldn't this also affect pictures taken from less than 3 meters distance like those?

Huh.. Seems that I was wrong. Took some automatic "sky at night" pictures - the pictures were blueish. Then I changed into Manual mode and got nice black pics. Seems the reflection is not really strong, but superior mode creates a superior reflection ._.

I don't expect full quality pictures at night, but you can definitely see that this is a hardware related problem (reflective back) - this is not what I expected from a 500€ phone. (I still like it, but I hate the fact that the camera fails so badly)

This is not the point. Even a weak LED flash must not (!!) mess up the pictures taken.
at least, Sony seems to be aware of the problem now. I'm curious how this will work out. Still thinking of a software related problem. (e.g. better controlling of the LED might help, like changing the time between shutter and light etc.)
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...ison-shots/td-p/541415/highlight/false/page/3
Can confirm this issue on mine, though I think its impact is exaggerated. The only normal situation (i.e. not covering the flash with your finger) where you see the issue is on long range dark shots, on which you shouldn't really be using the flash anyway
Edit: took a few example shots.. (ignore the overall quality, didnt bother focusing properly)

Nexus 5X Rear Camera Black Dot Problem

Hi,
I bought my Nexus 5X in December, and i was using it with the stock software from Google (locked BL, unmodified, unrooted)(6.0.1 MMP29Q) because i didn't have USB C-A cable and everything was fine.
2 Days ago, i got the cable, and i unlocked the bootloader, rooted the device, and flashed a custom rom (namely Cataclysm)(6.0.1 MMP29P), and everything was still fine, but today, i was shooting some pictures with the camera, and i noticed a black dot in the view, i thought it's dust on the lens, and i tried wiping the lens (from the outside) but it didn't work.
I did some research on the issue, and i found out that many Nexus device users have faced the same problem with previous devices (Nexus 4, Nexus 5), and most feedback says that the problem appeared after updating the camera app, or updating the android version, but there's no actual solution to the issue, since most of the users chose to get a replacement phone.
Demo of the problem:

I posted the images in full size to notice that the dot isn't completely black, it's kinda transparent, on the blue wall, you notice that you can still see the pattern of the paint through the dot.
Things i tried
Wiping the lens from the outside
Uninstalling the camera app updates
Changing the resolution of the camera
Installing another camera app (Open Camera)
Unrooting/Flashing Stock Factory Image
Also, when i zoom in the dot goes out of the screen, it moves with the zoom.

Thanks mate, but i'm keeping that as a last resort (as mentioned in the post, the phone will have to cross countries to be replaced, and that will take a lot of time).
I still have hope in finding a solution, or for a miracle to happen and the dot to disappear suddenly just like it appeared.
and i still have till next December for the warranty to end, so i'll hope a little longer for now

If all else fails you could try to find just the camera flex cable, probably has more attached to it, and either replace it yourself or have someone do that for ya. They aren't too hard to replace but haven't opened this phone up yet.
I had the same thing happen to my N4. Although I couldn't see it, there was some kind of speck on the camera lens. I never did anything about it because it was outside of warranty, and I didn't want to open the phone up.
I returned my first 5x for the same reason, although I couldn't see it on the picture yet. This time, I could physically see the speck of dust just outside of the range of the lens. I didn't want to risk it migrating into view just after the warranty expires.
Most likely, it's coincidence that it happened at the time that you flashed a ROM. If you want to be 100% sure, go back to stock to see if it's still there. The issue that you were referring to that happened to others was more of a black bar, which happened to my N4 if I used the most updated camera app.

Front Camera Focus

Hey guys, I just bought my Sony M5 and one of the reasons that I bought it was because its front camera.
But checking now the quality of the front camera I'm very dissapointed. I think the camera of my phone has a defect.
It doesn't focus. All the pictures are blurry and has no details.
In the picture above I pointed to focus the keyboard. As you can see the letters are all blurry.
Anyone already had or saw this problem?

I had a Xperia Z2 but it was stolen. I didn't say that i used to have better picture quality, but ok.
I'm returning my M5 to the store to exchange for a new one.
Looking on the internet the picutes taken with m5 is obvious that my phone came with a bad camera.

I have the same problem and I have already changed device thanks to the shop in the UK. Not sure what do next.
Both have focus problems. Neither can focus very far away. The front one focuses about 6-12 inches away the rear no more than about 5-10m away.
Close up the photos are razor sharp, otherwise they have increasing levels of out-of-focus issues.
If this is a common fault then maybe we swap to another device. If this is the batch, maybe get Sony to fix?
Did you guys tried manual settings,i was playing a little bit with those settings and i got a more detailed front facing camera pictures...

@pren22
What do you mean? This phone does not support camera2 APIs so there is no manual focus.
If you mean did I try something other than "superior auto" then yes I tried other settings and other apps.
But if you have some samples that you can share, that would be excellent!
I had a back camera focus problem so visited the store to check if it is specific to my device. Demo device on the store had no problem and my devices was replaced. It was not a setting issue cause I tried in every setting. Google camera app also took blurred pictures. Now, the new device has front camera problem, repeatedly focusing making "tik" sound while focusing. Store staff agreed about the problem cause their demo devices' front camera are working fine. But they refused to replace since 5 weeks passed after my purchase. I sent it to the Sony. They refused the problem and said it is normal!. I insist and now waiting for refund. I also purchased a Z5 Compact together with M5 and it died after OTA update. Sony accepted refund for Z5C. These two will be the last Sony smartphones I will ever buy!

My front camera also used to make a "tik" sound when i tried to focus.
Now i'm waiting the store send to me a new device. Almost half month without a cell phone.
had my phone back from Sony UK, they did not replace anything, however said the fault was cured. However this is not the case, the pictures are not in focus if held more than a foot away.
Not pleased with Sony at all!

Just FYI, this "click" noise in front camera seems normal. My unit also makes this little noise on front camera and despite that I can safely say that 90% of time I get perfectly focused photos, regardless of the distance, both cameras working very well...
