Wow!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

This forum is empty...I received my phone yesterday and so far I love it!

So umm..... let's take a guess of how long after 6.0 marshmallow gets released on the nexus devices that AT&T releases it to the flagship phones.

I'm thinking Samsung will release it to the carriers by the end of the holiday season or early January for the Note 5 and the GS6E+, the GS6 and the GS6 Edge will get it sometime in December, Note 4/Note 4 Edge/GS5 by Valentine's Day, then add a month on to those areas for AT&T to put their foot in it so I'd say the Note 5 and GS6E+ will get Marshmallow by mid February.

& the screen is
Beautiful

But...I don't have all the options that they show on the official video for ppl edge...I don't have...emoticon and hand writing...don't know what's up with that

I got mine today and love it as well. No lag at all. Question, how do you get to the options? Like when I go to this forum I want to make it a favorite but can't get to that options menu.

5-inch screen?
Unless it's edge-to-edge, I don't want a phone that's any bigger/wider.
Samsung will lose my business.
Pretty sure the screen won't be bigger than it is now, Samsung isn't that stupid, that's why they have the Note series.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I agree. 4.8 inches is perfect. If it were "edgeless" or "edge to edge" than yeah go ahead and bump that up while keeping the same size, but the current size is perfect for a phone boarding on phablet.
No reason to go any higher when someone can just buy a Galaxy Note. I can still unlock and use my phone with one hand for the most part. Yeah it's a bit difficult but it can be done!
It seems like they just released the S3

No offense, but I'm sure they are not knocking on your door and mugging you for your money, you choose to get a new phone, so maybe you should look in the mirror.

Lol  No offense taken. No one said they came knocking on my door. :what:
Hopefully sprint version has full nv ability with all sprint band evdo and lte with 3300mah battery it could be non removable but give us 3000 and up

I think this is what turned me away from HTC. it seemed like after the original evo they came out with a new phome every month. Instead of puttin out a solid device then taken time to ensure there next one was a true upgrade they just pumped out as many as possible

I'll get it, if it has SVDO. Like having voice and data at the same time.

I'm still on the fence.
Assuming the Note 3 will have Sprint's Triband LTE on it, it's definitely on my radar along with the LG G2.
With the LG G2 having a 5.2 inch screen, it's more enticing to me than a humongous 5.7 inch screen of the Note 3.
Also, with TouchWiz on the Note 3, I'm leaning towards the G2.
However, the Note 3 is also more likely to get official CM support, just based on the Note 2's official status and the LG Optimus G not being official.
With official CM support, we get better AOSP kernels, so AOKP, SlimROMs, PA, and PAC-Man roms will be better.
My upgrade is in December, though. It gives me some time to think about it and hopefully see some reviews and other user impressions before choosing one over the other. And hopefully CM will announce official support for the G2, then it makes my life easier.
Me too. You getting the pink one freeza?

I was considering it. That creamy pink looks kind of neat lol. Nah I'll probably get a black one. Unless they've figured out how to not let the light bleed on the white version.
I may get a pink flip cover though. Awwww yeaaa!
As much as I'd love to keep SVDO, I don't think qualcomm will enable dual radios in their chipset anymore. :'(

Well I mean, there's SVLTE now...but Sprint is nowhere near being able to force their customers to all rely on good LTE coverage
But I doubt that the N3 will have SVDO, probably get bumped up to SVLTE
I'm tempted. Still debating whether to get a Note 3 or wait for the S5. I told myself that I'd never get a phone that big but everyone I know who has a Note 2 loves it.
Didn't like the faux leather back at first but it's starting to grow on me after watching a few hands-on videos. I still need to see and feel it in person though.

Definitely not me. Lol. I like my phone 5" and under..4.8 is nice, though I could hold a note easily.
Also having my nexus, I do like the nav buttons better akin to a nexus device. I know you can on custom ROMs, but nav and hardware buttons are just silly to me.

Note 2 on kitkat

Just read this
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5062...at-os-18-smartphones-tablets.htm#.UjkXJX_vmhr
It says note but not sure note 2 suppose so
Note phabletS so we could suppose that it is for the Note and Note 2.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It also says the Ace will get kit kat, a three year old budget phone which is still on gingerbread. I don't think I'd trust that article!
Don't just read some articles and come here.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4
Granted the site is garbage but KK is supposed to be light on memory usage which would allow low end phones to run it without issues, even on your 500mb RAM phones. So it's not that far fetched.

I have faith , why ?
S2 came with gingerbread right ? then ICS , and last at JB
why would S2 be better than note 2 ?
we still on 1st version or going from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 is huge upgrade !!!!!
still more to come , just dont think about it , like many who just want update and dont use 30% of what note 2 can do
I guess the 4.3 will be the last update... Samsung doesn't play fair with updates
Well you can always go here to get the latest version of android lol anyway been such a long time since I last touched stock ROM that using it makes me feel like a fish out of water.

Many people requesting = showing Samsung the big demand and make it hard for them NOT to make an update
4.3 is likely to be our last official update. 4.4 hasn't even been released yet and our model just got superseded. Samsung has little vested interest in keeping the Note2 fan base up to date. Furthermore 4.4 has been documented as a major upgrade, so the cost will be significant for Samsung and the carriers to put dev time into it. It will be comparable to the GB to ICS upgrade which saw a lot of superseded handsets miss out.
Well, we should wait and see. The SGS2 has been receiving updates, hasn't it? Slowly, but sure. It's getting updates and fixes.
Sometimes I want to buy the next nexus phone because it's Google so no worries about the updates..

Well, I think that will be one of those cases. The flagships are the S's note as that have haypero without proclaiming to the 4 winds

I may have made a mistake.....

Long story short, I got curious about the note 4 and traded in my M8 for it. It's only been 24 hrs and all I call say is that it's not a HTC. I'm really hoping that it grows on me.

I have had my Note 4 for about a week now, came from the M8. I truly love the M8, but I find the only thing I really miss is the front facing speakers. One of the main reasons I switched was for the Samsung VR. I have no regrets. I still have the M8, I want to see Lollipop on it before I sell it.
One thing I miss about the M8 is how it did it was fast. I don't know if if it's how touch wiz is designed to work, but it is kinda slow. Opening an app takes noticeably more time than the HTC. we'll see what happens, I can do another early upgrade in 4 or 5 months

Going back to stock

Ok guys, so far there have been some ROM improvements but no real aosp roms for our variant. I knew I should have went gsm instead. So I'm going to drop by tmobile tomorrow and see what they can do about putting me into a LG G4. I wish Bliss would release something for our variant.
I tried the g4 and traded it in after 7 days. It was not the same caliber phone as the s6. The one i had was plagued with the unresponsive touch screen. There is a topic about it here on xda among the g4 catagories. Just a warning or heads up from my experience. Good luck.
