Charging - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Maybe it's just me, but seems like my charging has slowed down. When I'm plugged in in doesn't say fast charging like my Note 4 did, it just says cable charging. Does everyone else's just say cable charging.

Disconect and conect

Same trouble here, unplugging and plugging back in fixes it, but I am returning it for a new one. I shouldn't need to do that

Looks like this recent tmobile update might have fixed the charging issue

This seems odd.. I take your word for it but at the same time, are you sure it's actually "fast charging"?
How long does it take for your phone to go from 0-5% up to "complete charge"? And also, how long does it then take to go from 100% to dead?

It says fast charging with new cables every single time before would only say cable charging and had to mess with it a few times before it changed.I just bought a second set of cable from ebay and works every single time.

Phone using more power than charger can provide most of the time.

Hello, as the title suggests , my HTC One X is using more power than the charger can provide, even when idle.
When the phone is on, it doesn't charge unless the screen is off, and even then it is very slowly. Almost we whenever I turn the screen on it starts to discharge when plugged in. I am using the standard 1000mah charger.
It only used to do that when I was playing 3d games (only the highest).
I am using ARHD 7.1.0 and faux 004b6.
Please help, this is hard to live with
After I wiped battery stats and had it on for about 10 minutes (started on 5%).

Mine did this when I was charging on the computer via USB but I think it was due to the fact USB is only 500mA i think and the cable I had was like 2 meters in lenght so wasnt expecting much. Are you using the USB you got with it?

Use the original cable and see what happens, most 2m cables are very inefficient.
I got this to and I am using a Samsung galaxy s charger still when I play minecraft on my phone it don't charge it fast very...... Very....... Very...... Slow progress then

When you play a fairly intensive game like minecraft and try to charge it then yes it will take longer to charge. For the quickest charging time use the official plug and cable and have the phone turned off.
Looks like it was the cable, the metal inside had gone all black I don't know why. Thanks for the help.

phone won't charge, but will connect to pc

i tried wall charger, usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports. everytime i plug in it will show charging for like 3 seconds then stop. i can connect to pc and share storage just fine however.
when i turn off the device and charge, it shows me this

rofl, thanks, it is 100% just the battery right? guess time to buy another.
You might wanna try a different charging cable/usb wire. I had a USB cable go bad and it would mount the phone but it wouldn't charge it. Then I would check the charger itself, then consider a battery issue
Process of elimination

Most likely. While it's not a bad idea to keep trying other chargers, I've never had a bad charger show a battery warning like that. Looks to me like the device isn't connecting to it, so it's either a bad battery or a bad connection in the phone.

Look at your actual USB plugin on the phone. I just sent mine in to samsung for repair because some of the metal contacts on the USB plugin itself got bent up and back into the phone so they would not make contact to the USB cable anymore. I think that certain contacts control data while others control charging.

I had the opposite of what happened to you, phone would charge but not connect to PC. I cleaned out my USB hub and pushed around the pins inside with a very, very small precision flathead screwdriver. What do you know, it started working all of a sudden!

Optimus G breaking chargers

Hey guys. So my Optimus G has gone through three different chargers now. The LG one that comes with the phone, a Samsung one, and a rocketfish one. The LG one being the first I used. I know it's not the outlet cause I charge my nexus 7 on the same one.
The LG and rocketfish chargers broke when I tried to charge my phone from being completely drained. The Samsung one just kinda stopped working. All three of them maintain a flat line charge if Im not using my phone. But once I start using my phone, it continues to drain even though it's plugged in.
You can see what I mean at the end of the graph. Its was plugged in for 45 mins.
Have any of you had this problem or have seen it? And any idea what's going on?

I've had this problem as well. Just went through the LG charger so I switched to an old blackberry one I had kicking around. It's been working so far, maybe 4 months or so. It's also nice because it has a substantially longer cord than the standard usb cable out of the box.

Battery Issues - 65+ hours to fully charge?!?!

Hello,
I discovered a weird issue with my phone this morning. I woke up and the battery was sitting at 64% after charging overnight. That seemed a little weird so I tried doing several different things (battery pull, clear the cache, etc...) to see if it would correct the issue. It did not. I just got done draining the phone completely and then plugged it in. In about an hour's time, it charged 2%.
The only thing that I have not tried at this point is a full system restore :crying:
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do you have any ideas of things for me to try? I am willing to try anything before using a full restore as a last resort.
Thanks,
LBS
EDIT: Well, I dug out an old blackberry wall charger and cable and it immediately fixed the issue. I think its a bad LG charger and USB cable. I guess ill toss them.

What charger AND USB cable are you using to charge the device? While I was using the bundled LG charger at the time, I was using an old HTC MicroUSB cable I had from a previous device when I encountered this problem. When I used the bundled LG MicroUSB cable instead, the device charged normally.

I've been using a 3rd party 6 foot long USB cable with a third party rapid charger. Last night my wife needed to borrow a USB charger, so I gave her mine and used the LG provided charger and cable for the first time last night. I hadn't really thought about it. Maybe its a bad charger?

Could possibly be that. I think the G3 might be a little picky with chargers and such you use with it, I'm not too sure as I've pretty much used the G3 wireless charging dock to charge my G3 (and that is very picky with what you use with it, if it's not at least 1.8A then say hello to constant beeps and errors, my old 2.1A Nexus 7 charger seems to power the dock fine.)
Changd the usb cable

HTC 10 charger not work, auto turn off after plug in 3 seconds.

Hello you guys, I just bought an HTC 10 yesterday. And my stock charger has problem. When I plug in, its only charge about 3s ( On my phone, notice connect fast charge also appear ) then auto turn off. Led turn to orange, and turn off after 3s too. I tried to put another charger from my LG with 5v-1,8A, and its ok. With my charger, I tried with many others phone, and its still ok too. I'm wondering the problem comes from my HTC 10 or my charger and type-C cable? Anyone have the same problem with me? Pls help me :crying::crying: I bought this phone from an user and it doesn't have warranty, I'll buy Anker charger which support QC 3.0 but now I'm so confused. Give me your advice.. Sr for bad English.

Here is my stock charger, I think it's original
So the charger works with other phones and other chargers work with your 10? Very odd. It doesn't sound like a firmware issue, try a hard reset and make sure there's nothing in the ports. At least you can charge it with another cable until you resolve it.

Thank you, finally I've found the reason came from my charger. It only works with devices which not have Fast charge technology. Yesterday I tried with Samsung S6's charger, and my HTC 10 has no problem. Battery from 13%-46% in 20 mins. I'll test again with charger which has QC 3.0 ^^ Have a nice day buddy.

Ah that makes sense! Glad you got to the bottom of it.
The stock cable is bad, I've tried several cables and the one that works the best is this one
