Advanced Stock Kernel with TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery
(As requested by ZL users, based on my work for Yuga, even though I don't own ZL)
boot.img can be downloaded from Here
Flash using FASTBOOT
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
or FLASHTOOL
Code:
"lightning icon"/Fastboot mode/Select kernel to Flash/
To root, download Chainfires latest flashable zip from here.
Then reboot and press press volume up when blue LED turns on to enter TWRP recovery, and flash the zip from the stored location.
Note: In TWRP "mount " menu, make sure system read only box in bottom left corner is not ticked.
This is a Pure stock kernel for unlocked bootloaders made from kernel.sin extracted from stock firmware.

Enjoy :good:

Working perfectly! Many thanks.

Micro SD card does not mount
The micro sd card does not mount after changing kernel to permissive.
After removing and putting it back again it works but that's only till a reboot.
Can u put xposed in ur kernel or make a complete flashable zip with root, recovery, xposed installer etc.
I know I am asking a lot but if there is anything I can do , ill be happy to help.
Thanks in advance

I don't have sd card mounting problem when changing to permissive on my XZ (don't own ZL), so I can't help you there.
As for all in one root and exposed, you can do that with PRF creator. But you have TWRP, so it would be easier just to Flash the required zips in recovery.

Thanks, would you pls help to make zip flashable ?

What's the kernel version info?
(settings > about phone)

this is the kernel kernel info:
3.4.0-perf-gbccb33a
[email protected] #1
Fri Jul 10 09:23:01 2015
I am not sure if it matters but my ZL is the C6503 version (with LTE).
*** EDIT ***
Forgot to mention that I still have only 10.7.A.0.222 not 10.7.A.0.228 even if the device now says that I am on the "latest update". But through flashtool I could get the 10.7.A.0.228 rom (Northern Combined) on my computer.

Flash it and tell me if the kernel build date changes.

OK, I will. Does this work on any variants of ZL, like C6502, C6503 or C6506?
I have a problem now: I may have only the C6502 (which does not have LTE) although I specifically asked for a C6503. See my post on that here.

This will work on any ZL model as kernel is the same for all variants.
Edit: Saw you thread, looks like you have been had. Send it back and get a refund. Either it's a 6502 or your modem is malfunctioning. Either way you didn't get what you paid for. @brenyoka

@Shoey, thanks for the comment. Will contact them about the refund. So is it still possible that only a LTE modem does not work?
I unlocked the boot loader, installed your kernel, then flashed the latest, 10.7.A.0.228 rom (Nordic combined, pre-rooted, prepared with zxz0O0's PRF cretor) in recovery. All runs well.
The kernel info is still exactly the same as before:
3.4.0-perf-gbccb33a
[email protected] #1

How can I make the latest TWRP image file to a flashable zip? I plan to use it in PRF creator which requires that the recovery is in zip format.

Not sure about that. Maybe malfunctioning, maybe 6502 modem. A bit OT though.

Must people put [NUT]'s dual recovery flashable zip in that part. Alternatively, you could try the flashable zip from the OP. That might work. Anyway that's also OT.

Thanks for the response. I knew this may be not the best thread for my question, but I saw you easily made a flashable zip for the kernel, so I just try to do the same with the recovery image. I don't need dual recovery installing a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Twrp would be sufficient. Sorry to bother you. I now asked the same question in that thread. Cheers mate.

ZL with PureX ZL v2.0
Hi,
I've recently installed PureX ZL v2.0 on my Xperia ZL C6502.
Can I still install this Kernel or it can be installed on Stock ROM only.
FYI..
My xperia is Bootloader unlocked, Rooted & TWRP v2.8.7.0 is installed.

[Acro S][Kernel] Stock Kernel + CWM + Root (updated latest 6.1.A.2.55)

[Disclaimer] Do it at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything happened to your phone.
Hi all, I've just upgraded my phone to Acro S recently. It is running ICS 4.0.4 build 6.1.A.1.58. It has been updated to 6.1.A.2.55
So here is a modified Stock Kernel with CWM which I created based on Arakmar's Stock ICS kernel (Build 11) for XS
Credits:
1. Arakmar - for the ramdisk and CWM
2. DoomLord and FXP team - for too many things to mention
Link (do not mirror)

6.1.A.1.58 - http://www.mediafire.com/?wsuha53wvcc3cav
Instructions:
1. Unzip the files to the fastboot folder, there are 2 files:
kernel.sin -- Stock ICS Kernel
kernel-cwm.elf -- Stock ICS Kernel with init.d support and CWM 5.5.0.4
2. Get into fastboot mode, type:
- To flash the CWM kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot kernel-cwm.elf
- To flash back the Stock kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
To get into CWM - Reboot your phone, tap the screen (not buttons) a few times when the blue led and button lights appear
To root your phone, follow instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30320507&postcount=11
If you like it, please hit the [Thanks] button or you can buy me a beer
Thank you.
But i have a question: what is ram disk use for?
I used xperia s mod kernel to flash supersu.apk, then flash back stock arco s kernel, and add CMW. But some .zip file can not use.
Does this give us root or do i need to root the phone first and then flash this kernel ?
Also, do we need to unlock bootloader for this ?
Can anyone please comment on performance? Thanks in advance!!
Hi do i need to flash these 2 files or just one i want cwm.and does it include root or not?

ramdisk is part of kernel. it runs initial scripts that control how the phone starts.

You need to unlock bootloader first. This kernel won't give you root. But you can boot into cwm to flash any package that root your phone or you can flash a complete rom, if available.

You need to flash only the one with cwm. It won't root your phone.

I think you're right. The moded kernel is kernel-cwm.elf.
Root Package
Here is the Root package after you flash the kernel with cwm
To root your phone:
1. copy the RootPhone.zip file to sdcard (internal storage)
2. reboot into cwm
3. install the package
4. reboot

Thanks alot.
It works on Acro HD with Acro S's ICS ROM flashed exlude baseband.
UPD: I did not like the ICS. There are only 320 mb of free RAM. I have 460 mb of free RAM on 2.3.7. So, I installed back the 2.3.7
if you could add 2way call recording patch to this kernel would be great

This worked for me, unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel-cwm and then flashed rootphone in CWM. Thanks.
Just a suggestion,
You might wanna add "+ Root" to your title seeing as this is another way to root the device.
With CWM, can we then flash custom ROMs for Xperia S or a Kernel with permanent root (e.g. DoomKernel)?
I'd like to get rid of all the Facebook-crap in the stock ROM but if it will be there again after the next update from Sony it's no use.

Once you unlock bootloader, you can flash any custom kernel.
If the kernel comes with CWM, you can flash any rom/zip with root
But I think current S custom kernels/roms are based on older version: 6.1.A.0.452
Bootloader unlock will probably void warranty.
But how about rooting? No righht?

There seems to be a problem ATM. There are links to the mega site where the .zip is in the instructions, but I will try and reupload to the xda server again later tonight
You messed something mate.
You said - flash ROM via CWM but you provided ftf file so I guess there's no need for that step or?!
It would mean we should flash ROM two times, from CWM and from flashtool....?

Thanks for the replies and the interest.
1) There is a link to the download in the download section at the top of the project. See the screen shot. However the .zip file can also be found here
2) The instructions are correct. You have to flash the .zip in recovery and root it using the superSU .zip. Then before rebooting flash the 257 ftf to install the 257 kernel etc. You exclude system because you want to keep the rooted system you just flashed in recovery. The ftf has to be flashed in flashtool.
3) Anyone can flash the ftf from any region. If you want to keep your basedand etc, then just exclude system and baseband in flashtool. If you want to flash a FTF of your region though you can flash any FTF and just exclude system.
4) I am currently uploading a direct link to the rom in the download section.

here's the other link i posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48805157#post48805157
here's how. (my device is locked BL)
LINKS UPDATED!! (recovery)
1.Backed up my TA Partition
2.Flashed the official .569 ftf using flashtool
3.Unlocked my ZL's bootloader
4.Flash this kernel to get recovery (thanks Minthun46) http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=700#downloads extract the boot.img and flash it using fastboot or flashtool (fastboot mode)
5.Flash Supersu fix zip and dual recovery (thanks NUT) SUPERSU fix.zip http://nut.xperia-files.com/download.php?dlid=U3VwZXJTVV9maXg=
recovery that i used http://nut.xperia-files.com (download the latest flashable zip for ZL)
6.Re flash .569 ftf exclude everything except kernel and fotakernel.
7.Restore TA Backup.
FOR UNLOCKED BL
just follow step 2, 4, 5, and 6
VOILA!!! device is now rooted and has working recovery
PS
Will only work for ZL that can be bootloader unlock.
Hit thanks if it helps you.
Don't put Locked BL in the title, you only managed to root because your phone was unlockable. Putting Locked BL in the title states that your bootloader can also be locked for this method to work, and but unless your ZL can be bootloader unlocked, this method cannot be used for locked BL

Hello again
Latest firmware with Lollipop 5.1.1. is here and i make also a flashable zip for Xperia Z1 (C6903), and so far is been released in just few countries. I make it pre rooted as by my side once you have a pre rooted firmware you can be able to manage and delete apps what you don`t need to free space in your mobile.
What do you need:
- Flashable zip
- Mobile phone Xperia Z1 (C6903) - with CWM/TWRP to can flash the zip
- USB Cable (make sure your battery is over 75%)
- Attention and patience
The procedure to flash the zip is the same like in other threads (copy the zip to your external SD Card and from there reboot your phone to CWM/TWRP and select - install zip)
STEPS TO UPDATE FROM ORIGINAL 5.0.2 Lollipop
1 - Download the .zip from the link bellow in Download section
2 - Copy the .zip to your External Memory (SD Card)
3 - Reboot the phone in Dualrecovery (CWM/TWRP/Philz)
4 - Select INSTALL, then
4 - Navigate to SD Card (external memory/sdcard1) and select the .zip you copied on step 2
5 - Confirm to flash the .zip
6 - When it says FINISHED and if all goes without errors select BACK then Reboot System
7 - Wait patiently for Android to Update and to boot up, the first reboot is longer than a normal one (around 5 minutes)
If you have no root access and not dual recovery and you are running Android 5.0.2 you must follow this steps:
1 - Downgrate to original firmare .108 (see below the Downgrate section)
2 - ROOT and INSTALL DUALRECOVERY
3 - Then follow the same steps as i wrote above to Update
The content of zip is
- firmware C6903_14.6.A.1.216_Customized CE [Central Europe] (i found with XperiFirm on thread wrote by @IaguCool so of course credits go to him)
- UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 credits go to @Chainfire
- LATEST Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.22-RELEASE.flashable credits to @[NUT]
I used PRF Creator to make this zip flashable, credits go to @zxz0O0

If you have done before flash with dual recovery you may skip the last link, but if it is your first time when you try to do this i highly recommend you to read before each thread including the one on last link.

No fear to flash as it is, just boot to dual recovery , select the zip where you copy it and flash it, then reboot the phone, just be patient the first boot time will be longer than normal. Yesterday before i upload the link i try the zip on my phone and i did not wipe anything, i was on 14.5 A.0.283 (lollipop 5.0.2). Once the reboot was done i have all the settings, messages, contacts was untouched .
Good luck!

If you have root and dualrecovery already there should not be a problem... Remember the boot time is longer after you flash, just be patient.

starting to see reports of camera not working properly on 5.1.1 me included, takes a few snaps then the shutter sound disappears camera won't open again
Will it work from RR Rom 5.5.5 with Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE installed?

So far i update from stock, i am not sure if you have custom ROM or custom kernel how will behave, if you want to give a try make sure you backup your actual ROM and have ready for any case a original firmware to flash it if you fail to flash this zip or to restore your backup

Flashed the non-Rooted FTF in flashtool, so running 5.1.1 unrooted. Can't root via flashtool as it always fails, how do you install a custom recovery when running 5.1.1 so I can install the pre-rooted version?
Will I need to downgrade then install dual recovery then flash the rooted Zip from there?
Cheers

well in 5.1.1. you cannot get root access, you should go back to 108, root and install dual recovery, and after that flash the zip here
...in my post i have a link with a guide how to downgrate and then to come back to lollipop
check here the steps

[Kernel][Root] Stock Nougat kernel patched with DM-Verity, DRM Fix (Single sim)

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share stock nougat kernel(32.3.A.0.372 Customized IN) patched which has DM-Verity, DRM fix and can be used to root. I have successfully rooted my device using the steps explained by @serajr here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70595975&postcount=1702
Currently there is no way to get TWRP and disable Sony RIC.
For TWRP, use below fast boot command to boot temporarily and do whatever you want.
For disabling Sony RIC and get write access to system, use root explorer or any other apps which is similar, and edit the follow file /sys/kernel/security/sony_ric/enable to '0' when you want to modify any system files or folders.
TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES.
Steps To root device:
1) Boot any stock patched kernel (boot.img) with TWRP from Marshmallow or Zach's kernel using following fast boot command and access TWRP while booting using Volume Up button.
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
2) Flash attached zip
3) Flash latest supersu zip
4) Turn off, and boot your device normally
Hope this helps someone.
Please say thanks if this helped you.
Thank you.
Credits: @serajr, for guide to patch nougat kernel
@tobias.waldvogel, for his amazing tool.
Can you please do the same for the Dual Sim one (E6533)? I can provide you with the kernel if you want

Thanks.
Have just one question. Do we install 32.3.0.A.372 (nougat) using flashtool, or is there a flashable zip for twrp?!
I'm presently rooted with twrp on stock marshmallow.

You have to download nougat firmware from xperiafirm, and flash using flashtool. There is no flashable zip for sony stock firmware.

Yes, if you follow the guide I linked or used my kernel.
Here's the dual sim, tested and working
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7yqhIuaJsyNUmJtX0d1V3ZvMlk/view?usp=drivesdk
Cannot boot MM Kernel using fastboot command. Also tried flashing but doesnt work
FYI
I'm Using Single-Sim Version of the kernel "Z4_Z3P_SK_Permissive_v5.11_III.2_4_7_ctl_X_iv y"
Also using Flashtool 0.9.23.2
I'm on 32.3.A.0.372, Updated via OTA on phone. After Flashing 32.2.A.5.11 from xperifirm
Bootloader still reports UNLOCKED
Please Help
UPDATE: Just had to Disable Xperia MyProtection. It got activated by itself after OTA
I try it but my phone not root, open superus show notification "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it". Please Help
DRM fix doesn't work. XReality (among other things I assume) are ever disabled.
On Marshmallow DRM fix was working fine (was using XReality engine despite the unlocked bootloader)
