Adptive status and menubar colors - Sony Cross-Device Development Themes and Apps

Does anybody noticed that the official ad images of both z5 and z5 compact comes with what seems to be adaptive status and nave bar colors, sort of like iOS that changes color to depending on how bright the wallpaper is...

But in reality, the phones don't change their bars to black at all... I think its a misleading advertising. But I really would love this feature. Does anyne knows a way to simulate it?

how can i make icon turn into black like that ?

What I like is the adaptive statusbar thats in AOSP in contacts for example, but it doesn't exist in sony roms, that's just dumb...

Use tinted statusbar or flat style bars. But flat style status bar causes trouble with selecting the "just once" and "always" options on lollipop sometimes. And tinted statusbar is not as good as flat style.

It´s simple: you only have to enable the config buttons, then go to homescreen and tap on the config button, choose the statusbar and change the foregroundcolor from white to black (if you linked navbar to statusbar colors, you only have to change this, otherwise you need to do the same step for the navbar).
The only problem is the outline shadow, I could´nt find a way to disable them on homescreen.
I hope this was understandable, sorry for my bad english.

It makes the big tab transparent but not the whole slider itself
Transparentsy!
You have one post in the Blackstone forum for applications
that works like a charm!
If you like you can check there!
name of it is Transparent bottom bar
Sorry i do not remember the what page it is on!

transparent slide bar
not sure if this is what your looking for.
this makes the whole icon on slide bar transparent. IN CERTAINS ROMS IT WILL ALSO MAKE THE ICON IN THE SLIDER TAB TRANSPARENT TOO. basically you don't see any icons at all (ANYWHERE) in slide bar or slide tab. you only see your slide tab.
IN SOME ROMS, I CAN SEE THE ICONS INSIDE THE MOVING SLIDER AND THAT LOOKS NICE.
only rom i remember that shows icon in slide tab is itjes. all other roms is transparent all the way except slide tab.
no more heroes cab makes the BIG ICON DISSAPPEAR ONLY SHOWING THE WORD. EX. calendar word shows but not big icon above the word.
found this somewhere in blackstone threads.
anyways i don't know how to be more clear than that. just try and see
I feel the need to point you to my thread.

If by "the big tab" you mean the big icon above "Calendario" in the screenshot..? Then you should probably talk to rotastrain, as both icons come from same graphic-file, and this would require a partial relocation thru some mode9 editing.
In this pic,
The icons can be seen but the bar itself is quite transparent and i can see the picture underneath. However in this,
the bar is black when visiting other tabs
Try attached file...

Sorry. What i was saying is the slider bar itself is a black strip, with the white icons on it. In this picture,
you can see the icons, but the bar, is no longer a black strip, now 80% transparent so u can see the wallpaper underneath. But installing lucarp's slider, the transparency for the bar only works when im in the home tab. So when in tabs like music or messages, the tab is a black strip again, but everything else works fine.
This is what i was talking about. In the final, i can see the wallpaper below, but the bar is not totally gone.
Hi ppl.
@deadadman
Well from what I could understand the only thing you're missing is the BG for all tabs. You already have the slider transparent, but you only notice that in the home tab because you have a background other than black... In calendar and music, for example, you have a black background so you'll not see the background of the slider as you see it in the home tab.

Nope its not becos of the background being black. The pic posted was just an example. I've used the wallpaper changer for all tabs, so its the slider not being transparent
Try to put this file in your windows folder and restart your phone
If it works, I can make it with more transparency or totaly transparent...

I have no idea, but you can try to just strip the background away and leave it transparent an make sure your custom icons are Centered correctly. I haven't had the problem you're having but in theory the transparent method might work.

this
if you just make the icon bg's transparent then they will still look fine if you change your notibar color (unless u change it to white )
OR
you could open up one of the icons that does match the notibar and copy/paste that gradient to the one you need to fix
also, I don't know if this would create a problem but I always make sure to save icons and such as "save for web and mobile devices" in photoshop

I did try to copy onto a gradient icon that did work. For some reason it still came out wrong as you see on the image.
"save for web and mobile devices" would this help with image size? Currently they are coming out nearly triple of stock. example stock icon=1.31kb modded icon=3.97. I'm sure stripping the gradient will help but is still huge compared to stock.

i use cs5 fireworks for editing all pngs and no change for editing .9's. like neb said you can either find each add'l file and redo filter repeatedly through all the bg's or you can just make them transparent like neb said. He knows what hes talking about.....i know darch needs an evo too neb, but what about yours?

I'm loving it!!!
This thing is frakin amazing!!
Ok so I took out everything except for what I needed. No gradient nothing else left but the white notification icon. Then exported it with "save for web & devices" (this helped on file size thanks) Now what its doing is, icon appears correctly when its slide down into position, but then the icon stock background color gets added on (wrong gradient). Its so quick but I can see it happening.
On the plus side some did change like all battery icons and wifi, but the rest seem to be doing what I explained above very frustrating. Ive attached one of the icon's that I'm working on if anybody whats to help me out.
Rom Fresh 0.3 if that helps any.

[MOD] CM9 Reloaded Statusbar Mod - Toggles page, centered clock and more (2012-02-28)

Update March 5/12:
I've created a new mod with a settings app and all bugs fixed. There is no tabbed layout yet, but tons of options, check it out here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222
Original post:
This is a mod for CM9 for Galaxy Nexus.
Part of the code is from my previous rom Reloaded for the Motorola Atrix, hence the name
This was compiled on Feb 27 after syncing with CM repo so should work with all kangs (has been tested with my own kang and fitsnugly's)
Features:
- Centered clock
- Modified notifications layout
- Tab for quick toggles (fully configurable from CM9 settings)
- Brightness control (make sure you toggle off auto brightness for this to work)
- Transparent statusbar (might be removed next version if this affects performance)
Known bugs:
- Animation bug on statusbar fling/minimize
Download: See attached

Does this mod work with codeworkxs version of cm9 ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397122 this one.
friggin' awesome!!!
the only thing that made me go back to AOKP are the extra toggles in the notification bar so this is exactly what i was missing

Details?
I have been avoiding the CM9 nightlies because of the lack of features this mod provides. If I can get it to work I will be switching to CM9 and using this mod.
This should work with all stock CM9 nightlies and kangs. For people requesting uncentered clock, no transparency, etc, I'll be creating a settings app to allow some configurable settings soon
I'm really looking forward into that!
The top of the screen, where the notification bar starts, turned grey after flashing this..
Any way to fix it?
P. S. Not with everything, xda & chomp sms for example it did. Home screen / quickpic not.

It's most likely because that is the background of the app. The wallpaper doesn't show when in an app so you get whatever color the app uses.

Am I trolling..? Or the guy above here that gave a constructive response? Or are you trolling, with your intellectual reply..?
On topic: I've flashed pretty much every rom there is + 2 nightlies. The grey at the top of the screen only appeared after flashing this mod. And will theoretically disappear after flashing the next nightly / rom so all good. Was just pointing it out for the OP.
How can I configure the mod?

My point was that before flashing this mod your status bar wasn't transparent, so it always appeared black. After flashing the mod your status bar is transparent. When on a home screen your wallpaper shows up behinds the status bar, but when you're in an app the wallpaper is not displayed so you get the grey color. It's probably a color pulled from the palette of the app. Does that help?

Circle battery indicator

The DU battery apps provides a circular battery indicator on the status bar. But I dont want to use this app because it has a bit high memory footprint (usage). I need an alternative for this functionality. The app should be small and memory usage should be very low. Can anyone suggest a decent one? I tried many but wasnt satisfied. The icon on the notif bar should be circular, neat and clean showing the percentage and also the visual representation of the same just like DU's indicator does.
Thanks in advance.
xposed framework + gravitybox = circle indicator + much much more useful functions (btw U need unlocked bootloader and root)

power toggles is very useful to create a notification bar menu to turn 3g/wifi/sycronization/flashlight/screenlock with just a click
both can put a notification icon on the top, always on, and both runs on background very well
i recomend power Toggles because of the more advanced features
