Galaxy edge plus G928 : pit file for branded firmwares - Galaxy S6 Edge+ General

hello
pit file for Galaxy S6 edge +
why you need pit files
exemple with G928C OJK
if you décompress the firmware.tar.md5 you can see files :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
for flashing the firmware your device must have the good réprtition table ( pit file)
pit file look like this:
alls pit files are signed at the end and if you décompress you can see something like this :
_ if your device have a branded pit file you can flash an open firmware but not another branded firmware without changing the pit file
_ if your device have an open firmware you can't flash a branded firmware without changing the pit file
_ if your device have a multi CSC firmware you can change to another firmware with the same multi CSC without changing pit file
( exemple you have G925FOXA CSC BTU you can change to G928FOXA XEO)
_ same pit file for all android versions (5.0 5.1 ....)
but never forget downgrading is dangerous : you can loose your EMEI or brick your device
warning : pit can brick your dévice,so use it only if you need and with modération
before changing a pit file don't forget to save all your data
please NO REDISTRIBUTION
do not copy in other forums (only XDA link)
pit files are signed so don't change the name and the download link
new with G928F : you can find same pit name but with a different signature so i have named pit with the CSC
and maybe also for G928G

thanks for post and comments

Hi, at first, thanks in advance.
I have a doubt about pit file.
My new GS6 Edge+ (G928F) has the G928FXXU1AOH3 stock rom.
I wanna update the rom and I thought G928FXXS2AOK9 was a good idea.
I heard about freezing issues in this device in HTCmania forum and people said is better is download the 4 files' rom to flash it with ODIN.
I downloaded this rom with this files in HTCmania but I don't know, first, if I need a pit file to flash with the other files, and two, what pit version is the correct one.
Thanks!

@sirucato
if you have download the 4files firmware you don't need a pit file ( it's in : CSC_OXA_G928FOXA2AOJ3_CL5943955_QB6561467_REV00_user_low_ship.tar )
don't forget to save all your data because a 4files firmware is full wipe

ROM: I9000JPJPF Arabic Rom

Version: 2.2 Froyo

PDA Changelog: Unknown
MODEM version I9000JXJPD
MODEM Build time: 2010.10.26 19:35:03 KST

The firmware was originally a high package, meaning it is a update patch.
Therefore the system will not boot up properly if the package is flashed with Odin MDL with re-partition option enabled.
I converted it to a middle level package, which can be flashed with Odin MDL with re-partition enabled.

CSC_I9000OJPJPF
The MultiCSC supports following product codes:
EGY (Egypt), JED (Saudi Arabia), KSA (UAE), MAT (Morocco), MED (Morocco), MID (UAE), MMC (Libya), MWD (Morocco), PAK (Pakistan), THR (Iran), WAN (Morocco), XSG (UAE), XSS (UAE).
After the has completed, type in *#272*IMEI# to the dialer to select the correct variant (matching your original PCODE).
Use with 512 pit mapping if necessary.
Thanks for upload, I'll try it.

Can I flash it with unofficial Arabic froyo release?
Thanks in advanced.

So ADJP5 is still the "newest" ROM around?
is it good or not ?
May I ask HOWTO do this "..convert it to a middle level package". or Where I can find the tutorials.
its already converted, just use the files with ODIN
Both files are exe ... I think we could flash only .tar files.....
the exe files are selfextracting files, double click on them and they will extract the tar files
Thanx .........

Thanks for your work.
my question is, if don't want the CSC to be Arabic country, as I live in the UK, however, I need the phone to write and read in arabic, which CSC file should i use with Odin?
many thanks.
Whats the fastest/easiest way to update JPJPA ?
Is it worth the update ?
Rum is better than any other
Any of them faster
I9000JPJPF
or
I9000JPJPA
what are the system languages? swype language?
how's the right to left support?

Flashed this about 3 hours ago, checked re-partition but all my apps remained intact. i think i was supposed to first flash only the PIT before flashing everything else.
Anyway, this is my first froyo rom experience so i cant compare it to other froyos. but coming from eclair JPJG8 + voodoo, its just as fast, maybe faster, so far with 80+ apps installed and no lag fix. Will probably get faster after a factory reset.
Browser is really smooth and flash videos play suprisingly smooth.
I'm aware though that the real test will be after 2-3 days of using this rom, as froyo tends to become laggy after that.
Quadrant score: 989.
very happy so far.
PS: Thank you OP for posting this!
Guys I still don't have a Market.
in the Preconfig screen it gives me: Sales Code: XSG
and nothing to choose from... when I click on Install it says "Must be three chars".
Any idea ?
is it good
Sound really interesting!!!!
i thing ill give it a go lol, so any issues yet guys ?????

I have not modified the code in any way, although I have repacked the release to make CSC selection possible.
Usually Odin3 images are provided in a single integrated .tar package which contain all of the necessary files. This way the CSC cannot be selected separately.
That is why I splitted the release in three different parts (CODE, MODEM, CSC).
Since Odin3 has flashfile checksum support I also added md5 hash tail to the .tar files. This way is more secure because Odin will not allow flashing corrupted images. Flashing takes a bit longer thou because the checksums are checked in the beginning of the update process.
Note: The files are 7zip Self Extractors, double click to extract.

How to check which CSC (major) version you should use:
Open dialer and type: *2767*4387264636#
The second line will read: PCode:GT-I9000HK?xxx.
Make the last three characters match with the CSC product code.
So how to proceed:
Put your phone to download mode (hold down: volume down, home key, power)
DO NOT plug in your phone yet, Odin / driver does not like it at this stage.
Start Odin3
Tick "Re-Partition", check that "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" have been ticked.
Click "PIT" button and select s1_odin_20100512.pit file.
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".
Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to download mode again.
Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.
DO NOT select PIT file again.
Click "PDA" button and select "CODE_I9000xxJPx.tar.md5" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM_I9000xxJPx.tar.md5" file.
Click "CSC" button and select the desired version "CSC_I9000???JP?.tar.md5".
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software version.
When using a *Multi CSC* you need to select the CSC matching your product code (see above how to check). Open the dialer and type *#272*IMEI# (IMEI being... your 15 digit IMEI code )
Then select the desired CSC version from the list and press "Install".
The phone will reboot once the change is done.[/B]
The rom is a middle package as usual, so no bootloader included.
Regards.

What are the chances that these firmwares differ a lot from the official XXJPO and XWJPA firmware ? Especially I9000BUJP8 , seems to be a lot newer . Don't get me wrong I think it's great all these releases are posted , I am just wondering if it would be worthwhile to flash one of these firmwares. ( I am on XWJPA official dutch rght now)
Please report back, im also going to try I9000BUJP8, or I9000JVJPF

Great Job.
No problems so far with I9000BUJP8 and CSC_I9000OXXJP7 (EUR ) Greece
and with Super Optimized Kernel (4_2 STABLE) even better
Isn't JP8 meant for Vodafone?
I think its the same as JPA/JPO but modified for other country/carriers.
Since JPM/JP6 its very hard to get behind Samsungs naming.
Please give us battery report

Nope: Brazil (ZTO) is part of Multi-CSC OWO
I have tried to flash with OWO CSC but doens´t work. My S10 came from another country and flashing with this OWO version (ZTO) it kept the previous configuration and Samsung Pay doens´t work. Then I downloaded a french one with OXM CSC and it´s not perfect as some services comes in French but Samsung Pay is working in Brazil. Hopefully they will release a OXM ZTO and then could work. With the OWO doens´t work. I´ve tried everything CSC only (wipe), with Home, etc....doens´t work

1. I DO respect the rules of the forum
2. On this forum we do help eachother, not to react/correct someone in an "arrogant" way -> not amused (you could telling me also via DM, don't you agree?)
3. thank you for telling me the "correct default CSC".
i have no PM , where you ask me if you can post OXM multi CSC and for helping eachother , here in post11 :

Ok sorry if I am a bit junior on this but I have flashed other galaxy with ZTO (Brazil) and always worked well. It's the first time I downloaded the ZTO (OWO compilation) and doesn't work. If someone here can help or "teach" me how can I have Brazilian services changing the CSC to ZTO on OWO compilation posted on SAMMOBILE I do appreciate. For me the only working is OXM but still many services such as concierge in French.
Thanks

I would also like to know the right way to change the CSC. Currently on ASH5 rom with XSA CSC. Would like to swap to THL. I have a thailand sim card but the normal method of reset with sim card inserted didn't work like it worked for my Note8

just use HOME CSC, doesn't matter if it's BKD, MSP, EUX, EUR or else.
As long as you have a SM-F926B model, not U model.

MSR and XSP are the same since they both belong in the same multi-CSC family. XID is different, don't get confused. PDA might be the same but contents may differ a little bit. To avoid getting bugs or errors, if you are going to flash firmware from a different multi-CSC, do not use HOME_CSC (this will result in a factory reset).

That depends if you are flashing to a different multi-CSC.
If you are flashing to a different multi-CSC then you are required to use CSC instead of HOME_CSC. But if you're flashing to the same multi-CSC, then you just have to use HOME_CSC.
