New firmware update for S6 Edge plus (side screen) - Galaxy S6 Edge+ General

check in the settings of the side screen.
Looks like a minor update eh...

I don't get it?

Checked Galaxy Apps and the update was there. Didn't notice anything different. Maybe it fixed the night clock sync issue?

I noticed it was a bit quicker to scroll between people edge and app edge. I'm using the 928T
Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk

I'm not sure but I think it adds "check missed messages/call" from your favorite contacts. I don't use the edge screen that much so not sure if that was already a feature

Has anyone else been having this issue? After the update, their is information on the apps edge on how to use it and stuff when you swipe open the Edge tab and it won't go away. This message wasn't their before..or am i just blind and haven't noticed before lol. Verizon variant here.
Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

I noticed it also I hope they send a quick fix

This is a buggy update? Guess I'm not Gonna update this yet

The only change that I noticed so far is adding the setting button within the five contacts/apps
Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

Think that always been there

I found removing an app from your selection and then putting it back cleared this.

[Q] Hover issue

Hey guys, got my device about a week ago and there is NOTHING wrong with it. No pink pixel issues or anything. However, i noticed when i am on the lockscreen, if you hover your finger over the screen you will get the white dot.
Well very rarely it will show that white dot despite the fact the device is sitting on the table and nobody is near it.
I also went into *#0*# and did the TSP Hover test. And it does it there as well.
Now, this happens very randomly and i cannot re-create it on demand.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I am on a Stock deodexed modded ROM that i did all myself. So i was hoping it was maybe something i removed. I also am on ktoonsez kernel. I will Odin back to stock and see what happens but im just curious if anyone else has had this issue.
Thanks guys.
Screenshot
All I did was launch the debug screen and this happened.

Yes. Without my finger hovering, it will show the white dot. I'm gonna download the Odin flashable stock firmware to see if it's software related. I have a feeling it's hardware related though. Which sucks cause nothing else is wrong with this device.

[Q] Terrible lag when turning off the screen?

Has anyone else noticed that there a noticeable lag when turning off the screen? The slight fade out animation seems to stutter and there is about a 1-2 second delay from when i press the power button to it actually doing something. This is probably one of the weirdest places for a phone to lag.
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm running on stock rooted BTW.
EDIT (more info): This doesn't happen right after a factory reset. I takes a bit of time for it to happen which makes it seem like some app messing it up, but it happens even if there isn't anything installed besides the default stuff.

[Q] What have you noticed that has changed in T-Mobiles KitKat?

Things that I'm curious about right off are:
1. What color is the dialer? Is it still white or have they changed that to dark?
2. In the "Internet" app (not chrome) can you "Open page in background"?
and bonus
Have you experienced any problems with files (moving, naming, editing, accessing, coping info back and forth from interral to external, ect...) on the MicroSD card through a downloaded file explorer app (ie ES File Explorer)?
Hangouts now uses the emoji from the Samsung keyboard instead of Google emoji. Kind of annoying.

Same thing, internet seems to be the same, no difference.
Most of the notifications are white, kinda liked the green battery.
Camera shortcut in lock screen
The font in notifications is different
Can't find much else
I was hoping to see a fix for the messaging app. When backing out of a text message it can take up to 5 seconds to go back into your message list. It's really annoying.
Checked- still does the same thing. I can't believe a 3rd party app can do this better. Unbelievable.

I noticed the reception is better now:laugh: No seriously what with the full bars!! I always have full bars even when I know im in an area where is barely reception. and Yes the dbm meter is displays the correct reading but the bars are way off. I tried with the international Kitkat rom and I got the same result. Looks like its a kitkat thing across the board. Kinda reminds me of AT&T and Apple saga over the inaccurate iphone reception meter.

Sluggish?

I've had the G4 for week now and find it a little sluggish? Im coming from a galaxy s4 and am surprised by a few noticable lags. Anyone else? Opening the app drawer, clicking a notification to launch the app and waiting for the keyboard to appear to name a few.

Try clearing cache in the smart notice app or clearing it from the home page and installing Google keyboard. My lag has gone now
Actually simply enabling developer options has fixed my lag issue. I guess with developer options disabled, force gpu rendering is on.

It did on mine, I can assure you. It only happened after I enabled it in the dev settings. My screen started flickering and an hour later died. I assume it was the extra workload on the GPU as it was having to constantly render the screen with no CPU help.

You must be the only one that had this happened to.. If this comes close to remotely happening, which I doubt, you should be in line for a warranty repair.
There's nothing in the developers option that voids your warranty

Just disable absolutely everything including all the features the phone came with. That's basically all you can do and people seem to be okay with that. SMH
Disabling gpu rendering definitely helped but the phone is still not buttery smooth. Not like the G3. Is this sluggishness not a big problem since I can't find much about it. I'm trying to figure out if it's an app causing the problem. I'm using Nova instead of default launcher.

My G4 got a little smoother when I did the following:
By enabling Dev. options, go to drawing, then set all the following to .5x
Widow animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator duration scale
Changing launchers, in addition to enabling dev options, seems to have helped some for me.
