[MOD][OxygenOS] Custom camera HAL with 4K video recording [Dec. 20, 2015]

Installing this mod will give you the ability to record 4K videos on OxygenOS. This mod is only designed to be used with OxygenOS and ROMs that are based off of OxygenOS.
It is a custom HAL I created from CAF's vanilla camera HAL sources. This is the same camera HAL that I use in my CM12.1 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/orig-development/rom-kernel-unofficial-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3120259
Notable features:
HFR (high-framerate; a.k.a. slow-motion) recording at 60 FPS, 90 FPS, and 120 FPS for 720p, and 60 FPS for 1080p
1080p video recording with the front-facing camera
4K UHD and DCI video recording
Manual focus
Manual ISO control
Slow shutter (ranging from 1/5000th of a second to 2 seconds)
Focus works in HDR mode
More picture sizes than plain OxygenOS, such as 9.7MP 16:9
JPEG quality always forced to 100% for higher-quality images (JPEG quality seems to be capped in the OxygenOS camera HAL, resulting in images that appear overly-compressed)
Limitations:
4K DCI cannot be recorded with the CameraNext app (when trying to use 4K DCI on CameraNext, CameraNext records at 480P instead; this is a bug with CameraNext, not my camera HAL)

There's a 5.1 version of OxygenOS? I tested this with OxygenOS (5.0) and it is working as advertised.

120 fps merely records the videos at 47-49 frames per [Mod edit: No profanity please], which is completely [Mod edit: No profanity please] and not at all close to whatever the company promised about slow motion recording? Im begging you, if you can look into this matter because I have tried contacting support for OnePlus and Cyanogen but no help!

How can you tell the framerate that it's recording videos at?
I recorded a video with 120 FPS and it looked reeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyyyy slow when I played it back on my computer, so maybe it's already working fine.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure 120 FPS is working correctly... I recorded a video for ~5 seconds at 120 FPS and the resulting video said it was 1:25 long (though it was actually 21 seconds long). Android determines the video length based on the video's framerate, and it expects 30 FPS for 720P video, so it said my 120 FPS video was 1:25 long. 85 seconds (the reported length of the video) divided by 21 seconds (the actual length of the video) equals 4. 120 FPS/30 FPS = 4, so there were 4x as many frames, aka 120 FPS worked.
Something's weird with the reported video length, but other than that, 120 FPS works fine.

Well I flashed this over euphoria because I use the cm12s camera and it seems to have fixed the viewfinder freeze derp I'd seen happen a couple times prior. Awesomeness!

See that is the thing....it shouldn't happen like that!...nowhere in the camera it is said that it a slow motion thing....it is referred to as HFR denoting High Frame Rate! But its not the case once its saved onto the phone after recording...android should be recording and saving the videos at 120fps itself... And the video should be of 5 seconds if u recorded a length of 5 seconds. If our phone slow it down just to give us a slow motion feel then its not true slow motion!! If u check other phones including a moto x! It will record and playback back a video at 60fps and will slow down the parts according to your selection! But file is recording either at 59.97 or 60....I know because I've researched and have been in the video field for over 8 years now! So I can practically look at a video and tell is characteristics and in order to check the frame rate you can use media info on PC and MX player for android!
Please I'm begging you to look into this matter! As my primary reason to buybthe phone was the 120fps recording! Which is not even close to be good in terms of usability ! Please @Sultanxda please look into this!

I looked into it and I have no idea how to change this behavior. Android does this by default at the framework level; Motorola's implementation on the Moto X is different because they made special modifications to the Gallery and Camera apps.

Ehm, because a HAL is a relatively small piece of code? I don't get what your problem is.

New version uploaded with a new camera feature the OnePlus One has never had before: 1080P video recording with the front-facing camera!

Since the "van Gogh" effect seems to be Camera App specific I thought it's worth spending some time on Snap to get it running on Stock OOS. Updated it the whole day, still air for improvements but good to go for now

There's no such mode. Haven't used Snap that much, only always quick testing. I know it has a bunch of settings but idk what's added exactly and what's working ATM and what's not.

Only 120 fps.
I've made some tests and I'm liking this camera. For now I like it more than OOS camera.

What is Google Camera (AKA GCam)?
Google Camera is the camera app for the Google Nexus and Google Pixel phones. It is not designed or intended to be run on other phones.
What is HDR+?
Basic: HDR+ is Google's proprietary image processing routine, and is more than just traditional "HDR' modes. HDR+ employs image stacking to control exposure, and also to preserve details, reduce noise, increase sharpness, etc. It is an all-in-one package.

Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL) HDR+ - The Pixel 1 introduced ZSL HDR+ which means when you open the camera, the system utilizes the Hexagon DSP to constantly buffer frames and marks the time slot of when you pressed the shutter button.

For people who have a problem with gcam versions. I installed Oxygen to fix the overheating bug and other bug reported.
I will post a stable version for OP6.
I deactivate what does not work Night Sight, Slow motion, Photobooth for Top Shot doesn't work anymore, I don't know how it happened.
Disable zoom in portrait mode, Resampling disabled (used 16.3MP).
This version is stable can be used at any time it will give me time to work properly on the mode that does not work.

--Enable Manual AWB Gains and adjust the numbers until you see a decent color image. See if your settings look good in most lighting conditions. Mine are currently at Red 1.5 / Green 1 1.0 / Green 2 1.0 / Blue 2.0 but it has to be changed to 2.0/1.0/1.0/1.5 in different lighting conditions but I don't have a lot of time to tinker with it.

OP6v0.1_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A Still has the color tint issue but the Pixel profile toggle works and ZSL HDR+ mode works, but is VERY LAGGY. If you click the photo thumbnail then go back to camera you can usually take a photo with ZSL HDR+ before it lags again.

-Clear Data
-Open app, accept permissions

A: This is a limitation from the API by OnePlus. If the GCam version you are using has a "Resampling" option, set it to None. This will NOT update the resolution list in the Settings, but the photos should come out at a higher resolution if you check the EXIF info.
Q: Can I use the second lens on the rear?
A: No, it is not made available through the API.

Updated OP with a new build, based off my latest version I was building for the LG V30. Borrowed some code from @Arnova8G2 to fix the back camera. Settings should work now and front camera will capture, but no HDR+. Portrait Mode still broke. Need to test capture in sunlight.

Try to play around with Settings>Advanced>Model (force close after change) and let me know if there is a better result with a different model. :good:
Another bug: successive captures can either freeze the app or process/capture very slowly.

For the use of the frontal hdr + you have to modify the libs like Op3T / Op5 / Op5t

Edit : Oneplus has to hide the resolutions use on InputsString this is used for portrait mode

Just tested the camera and no front HDR and no portrait mode on the front or the back camera.
Back camera will not take pictures with zoom.

He already mentioned in first post its alpha version and some features like front hdr is not available yet. Dont expect too much.

Just checked, yea full level is enabled but level 3 and legacy mode level is disabled. Must we enabled those too or is full level enough?

Thanks I will check this out later tonight. I need to double check my FFC HDR+ config is right. I remembered with Nexus 6 HDR+ config, it would make FFC be yuvprocessing or whatever. So that may be part of the problem too

The latest version 1.7 works great. With some tweaks to the settings (sorry OP), the wide angle and zoom work perfectly with both regular HDR and HDR enhanced. White balance is pretty good with some modifications and image clarity + sharpness is a lot better.

Might need some better white balancing (I'm colourblind so I struggle with that) but everything else is pretty good. Using the latest Nikita here.

Agreed and thanks a million. Working like a charm. By far the best gcam option for now.

Question. Should the Moto camera tuner be disabled? Could interference from this, distort the results? I have my tuner enabled, would it make a difference?

FYI/PSA: The everything works config posted isn't working in the latest update 1.9, crashes. But app overall seems to be working well. I haven't played with configs too much before, but if I land on something I'm happy with, will share.

yes I understand that you use the latest version. But I'm asking about a config (.xml file), that works good with Moto Edge. There are configs for Moto Fusion+, G7 Power etc, but no Edge, so I assume that I need a config that has the same lenses as Edge (64, wide angle, telephoto and TOF).
Can you just show me what config you use, that works so well? Or you have your own? When I download 2.0 and have 3 options below (3X, 1X and 4X)
-3x is probably telephoto
-1x is main lens
-4x is wide angle (?) which just freezes and doesn't work

Anything on advancement? I'm using 8.1 of this app.

Yep, is very good and add some cool features, it's a new experience haha

Most features don't work, the front 20mp selfie mode crashes the camera app.
