Double discount? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I received a message from HTC with a promo code for a hundred dollars off the M10. I went to the HTC's website they offer a trade in for your old phone. Has anyone tried to use both and save over two hundred dollars on their phone. John

They only offered US$25 for my M7, so I didn't bother.

I don't remember exactly where, but it was someplace on the HTC.com website.

They only offered $28 for my M9. The trade-in is a joke.

HTC is offering two discounts. The standard $100 for anyone using discount code and additional $100 for HTC M9 owners who ordered through HTC.

HTC's trade-in program is completely separate and different from discounts you mentioned

You sure that we can use standard $100 and addition $100 (it's actually uh-oh credit) together on purchasing HTC 10?

Only bad thing is that Best Buy doesn't carry T-Mo phones in stock anymore. So, T-Mo has to ship it to you. They said it should be here by Wednesday
Contact another store. The sale is also for eligible existing customers.

Some premium retailers are running specials on Classics plans. They might have a "new customer only" policy for that.
However the 49.99 special the corporate stores are running apply to new and existing customers.

Don't you have to pay twice taxes if you buy the
phone from UK?
I'll be in the U.S. for the next 14 months and i was wondering about the same thing, because the XL doesn't even work in europe.. so i would have a nice $800 brick...

Nope - you don't pay the UK taxes if you're buying it for immediate export - in other words, if you're getting it shipped directly to somewhere outside the EU...
Also, there is, or will be, a Euro/Asian version of the XL with global LTE frequencies.
Negrielectronics bro! That's where I get all my phones.

What's the best deal going to get this phone shipped to a US resident? Are there any online retailers cheaper than negrielectronics?

Trade In

Just a quick question. Is it possible to trade in my current phone (HTC DROID DNA) and pay the difference to get the HTC ONE?
Yes go on their website and look it up the max they will pay is $129 for the HTC droid DNA, I personally feel it's not worth doing since I had to pay $220 to repair it through htc

It needed a new LCD + glass and rear housing cost me a pretty penny for this beast

So if I trade it in for $129, and the HTC One is $199, I would have to pay a difference of $70? Is there any additional costs?

Yes Verizon likes to charge you $30 as an upgrade fee. Also any taxes that applicable to your state
Is it worth it?

I would honestly sell via Swappa or Craigslist. More money although you have to be willing to ship/set up time to meet with people in safe places.

You're probably not upgrade eligible then, right? So then you'd be paying full retail for the HTC One ($600).
Honestly I'd keep the DNA. This phone is already locked down and everything is dev ready on the DNA. Not a big enough difference in the phones for dealing with the wait and hassle. Wait it out and see what development comes to this. They have been working on S-Off for hboot 1.54 for quite some time now, and I don't see it changing any time soon.
Keep the DNA and enjoy your freedoms.

M8 purchased @Costco

I recently bought my wife's m8 from Costco after returning the s5 plastic edition . This is just FYI if you have Costco membership or a friend that has one. From Costco it is truly 0 down. They don't even make you pay the taxes for the phone and they give you a 25 dollar bill credit. Also they give you like a bundle package. Came with car charger screen protector and something else I can't think of. You get the regular 14 day with t-mobile and then on top of that Costco 90 day return or I think exchange if something is wrong with it or you are not satisfied. Wow awesome if you ask me. I'm getting my phones from there from now on.

Did you use JUMP to get the new phone? How do the taxes end up getting paid if you don't do it in the store?

No I don't have jump. I just finance the phone. And the taxes I will confirm if it's added on the recipient which I believe it is but I'm not sure. They don't make you pay anything if it's zero down. But will.confirm about tax tonight. Don't want to mislead. Sorry about that.

I ended up purchasing my M8 from Costco. I also purchased a Samsung Galaxy Light for my mother. They wrote out 2 orders and had me go and pay the taxes at the cashier. Then I went back to the kiosk and a Costco employee brought the two phones to me. I'm in California, btw.

Pretty sure Texas doesn't have a state income tax so regardless where you go with in the 7 states that don't have state income taxes you will pay zero.
Yup just checked and did not charge taxes. Pretty awesome

No Costco doesn't have a restocking fee. If you don't like it you can return it no question asked just if something is wrong with it. You can return a half eaten cake there lol. They want you to be satisfied with your membership. And plus I used to work there.

At T-Mobile, it's also 0 down for the M8 (if you have good credit) . At Costco, is it 0 down for all members, even if you have bad credit?
