[Q] Stay on indefinitely

I bought a tabpro 12.2 to use in my office. It will be used for patients to register for events through our office website. The main problem I am running into is that the max amount of time before the tab shuts off is 30 minutes.
Problem 1: I need it to stay on indefinitely without going to black screen
Problem 2: Would like to know if you are able to use a customized screen saver. Such as a screen with a picture saying "Register Here" and then when they swipe it opens up to the page I want.
I tried searching the forum and online but can't find anything that is helpful. Sorry, I am a newbie at this so if I left out any information or if you need clarification please let me know.
I very much appreciate any help you can give!
For problem 1. Are you rooted? You could try Tasker and secure settings. That might do what you want.

There is an app called Wakey in the app store that will let you keep the screen on indefinitely. Install, Open, touch the light bulb. The screen stays on after you leave the app as long as you want. A notification in your status bar will remind you is in so you can go back and turn it off
You can tell the tablet not to sleep while charging by going to the developer options in settings. This menu is usually hidden by default so to enable it go to settings - about tablet and tapping on the build number 7 times. It should then have a message that developer options are enabled, you should see the developer options just above the about tablet in the list. There is an option in there to keep the tablet awake when charging

Very curious what the issue was, and how it was resolved. I went the Asus Support chat route, and was supremely disappointed when they sent me to their website, had me do a reset, a reinstall of the Zenwatch Manager, then decided it must be a hardware issue, and told me it would need to be sent in to be serviced.
If cover to mute doesnt work, and the app wont save the selection when I click apply...but cover works for other features....why blame the watch hardware? Seems more likely to be a phone software issue than watch hardware.
Support had no clue. The watch is saying install android wear, the phone indicates that Zenwatch Manager requires and uses Android Wear configuration, and the guy is telling me I dont need to install Android Wear. Very frustrating half hour!
Not working for me either
I can't get incoming calls (Nexus 5, stock Lollipop 5.0.1) to mute using the feature either. Could it be related to the fact that I wear the watch on my right wrist?
nah, sounds like a hardware issue... send it in for service.

Are you putting your palm ON the watch? That's what I have to do with my Moto 360.
cover to mute
What's odd, is cover with palm does work for other things....if you want to return to dismiss whatever is on screen, and return to the watch screen, so the cover function works! And the phone calls can be answered or dismissed from the watch with a right or left swipe. Its just that function in zenwatch manager.
Here was my solution
I had this problem too, and found a solution.
PROBLEM: On my phone, in the Zenwatch Manager app, under the "Cover to Mute" setting, I would tick the box next to "Incoming call", then "apply", but when I would go back into that setting, the box would be unticked.
SOLUTION:: On the WATCH, start FoneHelper (touch the clock to get the main menu--where it says "speak now" up top--scroll down and press the menu item "start", scroll and press "fonehelper). You will then have the option to toggl "Cover to Mute." I was able to enable the setting from that screen.
*Incidentally, when I do it that way, I can immediately see that choice reflected on my phone, in the Zenwatch Manager App. I still cannot use the Zenwatch Manager to enable this setting, but I've succesfully done it via my watch multiple times.
Hopefully this is helpful for someone else as well.
Confirmed resolution!

That's it! Even Asus support was stumped, but that setting is the cause/solution!
Thanks for taking the time to provide such a well written response! Thanks again! +++
Thank you so much. Having the same problem and this totally fixed it for me!
On Nexus 5 and Android 5.1 installed this does not help. Problem is, that Watch put Phone into "Interrupt priority" state, which allows only important events to ring or vibrate. But this setting does not prevent ring or vibration, which is already in progress during the incoming call. I tried to use Takser app to set Silent mode on, ringer off, vibrate off, interrupt mode to None - but none of them helped. It can mute the ringer, but not the vibration. But then i figured out the solution. First, you need a rooted phone. Then create Tasker profile for variable set event "%INTERRUPT~priority". This will trigger event, when Watch will set the phone to "interrupt priority state". Create a task for this profile to just simulate pressing volume down key: select Button action to do this. This will completly mute the call.
Also, ASUS support told me, that this issue will be fixed in android 5.1.1 in the middle of may.

[Q] Viperrom Stuck in full screen mode -Status bar and bottom hide until I swipe

Stuck in full screen mode -
The Status bar and bottom bar auto hide. until I swipe to bring them back. How do I disable? On viper rom.
Wrong place to post. There is a thread for ViperROM believe it or not.
I wasn't certain it was because of viper rom, as I can find no relevant setting in Venom tweaks to fix this. Is there a core Android setting for this? I've searched extensively and found nothing.
I believe this is in the right forum now.
any ideas?
ok well... strange that my android started going full screen on viperrom suddenly and no one knows how to change it back. guess it's time to wipe and start over.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I just had the same problem. I think I put it in fullscreen mode while it was in my pocket and couldn't figure out what was going on for about 2 hours. For anyone else that encounters the same situation, here's the solution:
Press and the power button. At the bottom of the "Phone options" window that pops up is the Fullscreen mode option.
Also found that when I take it out of fullscreen mode, I have to reboot it to get the Status Bar to stop auto-hiding.
Thanks
you're a life saver,
i dont know i missed that out, i rebooted the phone a dozen times and scoured the venom tweak settings for hours to no avail
thaks again

buddy_lee - You're awesome. Thank you. I'd been dealing with this for a few weeks and it was driving me insane. I"ve looked through every setting on the phone, viper, and nova and couldn't figure it out. Can't believe how simple it actually was.
THANK YOU

Samsung Smart View - Can I turn off phone display while mirroring?

I've been searching for a couple days now and haven't found any answers. What I am trying to say is with the s7 active there is already the option for "smart view" in the pull down menu. That allows me to mirror my phone directly to my Samsung smart tv via wifi with a push of 1 button. I see no option to have my phone screen off while still mirroring is my problem. I basically want to mirror to my TV while watching a movie from my phone, but have my phone screen off, there is no reason to have both displays on for 2 hours. Does this option exist or is there a fix to accomplish this power saving feat? Thanks for reading. Have a good day. :fingers-crossed:

Anyway to disable touch disable mode?

I use my phone on my bike in a holder, and when I go to unlock it says touch disable mode. I press volume up and power to disable and it never disables, and I don't see a way to disable this mode under smart assistance like there was on the previous version. I'm on Oreo. Please help a brother out!

it has to do with the light sensor being covered.
might be to do with the holder covering or partly covering the top portion of the screen

I searched everywhere for the setting to disable the touch disable mode. It looks like they forgot to add in the Oreo update. I have suggestions that you can try:
1. Press the volume up and power buttons three times to enable/disable the feature: I found this solution somewhere online but it doesn't work for me.
2. If it is possible, you can cut the part of the holder that is covering the proximity sensor. I have used CPU-Z to find out where exactly the proximity sensor is located. It is located in the space between the front camera and the earpiece.
3. Send a mail or call the Huawei/Honor support team. They might be able to help you and with a software update months later, it might be fixed.
Yeah I need this **** disabled too. I like to peek at my phone from half way out my pocket and this stupid **** always comes up.
I just found the solution. Hallelujah!
Download the Settings Database Editor app on Google Play:

In the System Table screen, scroll down to the bottom towards the 'T' section and find "Touch Disable Mode 1". Tap on it and change it to 0 to turn it off and hit save.
