Mine seems much slower than my s6 edge+. Both on their included factory chargers the s6 was much faster

The Note 7 has 500mah more of battery. They charge the same speed, the Note 7 just has more battery to fill.

It seems to always finish charging before the estimated time

My Nexus 6p charges quicker using OEM chargers for both

I noticed mine went from 17 percent to 28 percent in 5 to 10 minutes. 0 to 100 is a breeze compared to my note 3. I use to hate waiting so id swap batteries from one note to the other I have 2, run one down swap it charge the other in the other device. Still would take 2 hours.

The note 7 charges a hell lot slower than my note 5. I know the N7 has a bigger battery, while it took me 2h to reload my N5 (qi charger) it now takes a good 3.5h.

with the current news going on ,if your set is not exchanged , might be wise not to use fast charging mode

5%-100% in about 1.2 hours using Quick Charge 3.0 and a charge rate of 1.05mA.

The note 7 has blasting charging speeds *no puns intended*

I never use fast charge, as it degrades battery life, but the normal charge is very fast for me, comparing to my previous note 4

Ive heard that fast charge does degrade batteries but do you know by how much? And how long does it take you to charge your device 0-100%?
Thanks

2 hours and full

Doesn't seem to charge any faster than my Note 3.

Serious Battery Issues

Hey all, I'm looking for some advice regarding the battery on my Verizon Nexus and I wanted to see if anyone else was having troubles too. It seems as though my battery is discharging very very quickly to the point of where I'll pull it off the charger at 100% and within 10 minutes I'm down to 90% with little to no usage. Again, this is the stock battery on the Verizon Nexus. Thanks all!

Stock ROM/Kernel? Try changing, see if the drainage issue changes. Even reflashing an updated stock image may help.
It looks like the problem is the screen using up the battery. Its using 66% of the battery right now and I'm down to 88% battery after about 25 minutes with brightness on 10%.

That's standard behavior for most phones. It damages the battery's long-term life to keep it charged to 100% for extended periods of time. It actually trickles down to 90% while on the charger after reaching 100%, but doesn't actually tell you so, because people would get confused if their phone sat at 90% while on the charger.
Lots of laptops do the same thing. E.g. my thinkpad never charges to more than 94-96%. Standard behavior to maintain the battery. The computer is just up front about it, and the phones do it more sneakily.

Hmmm, that sort of makes sense but I've never seen this behavior on anything else including the many many Android phones I've used in the past...its annoying. I'm thinking about picking up the extended battery but I'm not sure.

I had the same problem the first two days of owning the Nexus. I would go to work at 6am and the battery would be drained by 12. I did a few things that seemed to help.
1. Disabled 4G LTE
- My area is spotty when it comes to 4G, so the phone constantly searched for it.
2. Lowered Screen Resolution to 10%
3. Used a dark background.
- The screen will use less power if the background is dark (black is best)
Doing those three things made my phone last from 6am to 6:30pm, which is a noticeable improvement. This was done using the stock battery. I did order an Extended battery, but I have not received it yet.
Lol this happens with basically all mobile devices.

not with my friend's 4s.
My battery also drains very fast. I'm at 48% with screen using 33% and android os using 31%. My screen on time is only 58 minutes but android os has kept the device awake for over 2.5 hours
I have a Galaxy Nexus, I had a Droid Incredible 2 before that, and a Droid Incredible 1 before that, and *all* of them have exhibited this behavior.
My nexus was in and out of 4g tonight and I'm at 35% with 9 hours on battery. Used a lot of Google music in the car. FWIW I'm using set CPU . That's probably helping a bit.

[Q] battery drain while charging

I've been using a Galaxy Note II since early February, and battery power has been absolutely amazing. However, the past several days, I've been experiencing extreme battery drainage. I didn't notice until this morning how severe it really was. I woke up for school at 7:15a.m. and it was 100% charged, but by the time I got in class at 8:15, it was already at 50%. Yes, I was using my phone on the way to school, but I only used Twitter for maybe twenty minutes, then turned off the screen. I don't have any heavy apps downloaded, and from what I can see, there are no rouge apps either. While I was charging when I got home (the battery was at 23% after desperately trying to save it all day) I noticed that the battery was actually draining instead of charging.
I've rebooted and tried using my sister's charger with no results. I set my screen brightness as low as possible, turned on power saving mode, and made sure that it says I'm charging under AC instead of USB. While charging my phone, my battery level at the beginning of this post was 68% and is now 63%.
What can possibly be wrong with my phone so out of the blue? Is it just a problem with the battery, or is there something I can do or at least try? Thank you for the feedback!
edit:
my phone is not rooted
Try to see the battery usage in the settings maybe some app is causing that, also make sure your phone is going into deep sleep. Thats all I can say, I have to admit is draining very fast

this problem is so common with samsung devices in general .. it is about the USB cable that comes with thim ... it sucks actually

[Q] Power and charging

Hello, I read a youtube review that the charging for this device is 2A. She mentioned that it will take an entire night to charge the device. Moreover, while using the device during charging, it is possible that usage is faster than charging and the device runs out of power. Is this really true? Is there any better charger to charge the device quickly?
I have a PM-600 in the USA and mine charges within 3-4 hours and NEVER does it charge slower than drain! I've owned mine since October and have at least 50 downloaded apps, watch vids and use A LOT of Email (3 accounts) and social networking (5 accounts and apps syncing)! The reviewer Was probably using a defective unit or has a bad app!

I had the same concerns about charging when I first got this tablet. Over several nights and days I could not get the tablet to charge fully.
I googled a bit and someone online suggested unplugging the usb cable from the wall transformer and reconnecting firmly. While a simple fix, this worked completely. Seems to be a common problem across Samsung devices.
With the stock charger it takes mine at least 6 hours to charge. I havent tried with my other 2.1 amp chargers...

Should not take that long to charge. Charging time should be around 4 to 5 hours from 0%

I found the problem. Fixed it with the original cord only, no extension cables.
(and, I mistakenly had bought the 2012 version, but I just returned it)

Charging to save battery life

is using fast charging will degrade the battery faster?
i want to keep the phone for more than 2 years, thinking to charge it at lower rate (using older samsung charger). is it safe? since I just saw the note explode (using different charger i guess)....
I guess it's a trade off and a bit of risk that every one of us has to take between preserving the battery health and using the fast charging feature quite frequently. Fast charging is one of the stellar features that we look for and need day in and out. However it's frequent use can lead to overwhelming the Lithium ion flow and resulting in corrosion.
According to me it's an optimal use of fast charging that does the job. If you need to keep the phone for more than 2 years, you definitely need to watch the amount of times you use fast charging. It's an amazing feature and should be used sensibly to maintain battery's health.

new note 7 battery life

Anyone got the replacement note 7 notice anything different in battery life with the upgraded fire proof battery?
i got one last night and cant tell any difference yet. it last just like my s7 edge did
it will probably take a few days for the battery to normalize after day to day usage before anyone can really report on it.
Getting poor life at moment, gsam showing deep sleep 0%. Install same apps as on old one not sure what's happening yet.

It took me a couple days before I actually got good battery life. Needs to set in, what I recommend doing is fully charge it and let it get down to in-between 1 and 5 percent before charging again. Don't do any in-between charging, at least that's what works for me.
My explodey Note 7 didn't get bad battery life at all. I couldn't complain one bit and was happy with it. This new Note 7 though... I think I got a real winner. It's less than 24 hours after switching and by this time of day I'm used to seeing the battery at about 62% give or take, but I'm at 84%. I'm sure it's placebo but I also feel this Note is just the tiny bit smoother and less laggy in the UI. Again, I had zero complaints about my first one so I suspect there's going to be sample variances across all spectrums with this.
Got rid of my voip app zoiper now got 49% cpu deep in gsam . So looks like bad apps.

Other people have been reporting 0.5%, any suggestions?

Need a week or so. My blowy Note 7 had exceptional battery life after a bit of usage.
My replacement straight out of the box , charged to 100% and have had awesome battery life. Last night I was at 6hrs 20 mins of on screen time. And had 25% left. And my phone not 1 time got hot. I think this one is a keeper

I can attest to the battery not getting hot often like it used to before.... I have like 60 apps installed, and normal use before would have my note7 burning hot. Now.... Not so much! [emoji1]

This. Exactly my experience too. The replacement phone battery is a bit better (36 hours to go from 100% to 1% with moderate use, no gaming), phone doesn't seem laggy, and most important it does not get as warm as the old one did.
Got my overnight standby drain down to 0.7%/hr from 1.4% uninstalled bbc news and amazon shopping apps.

like another poster said, my first one was great but something about this new one is even better. it doesn't get hot and i can tell there's a significant difference in battery life. it's seemingly lasting much longer than the first
