All the connections are correct....and the phone comes on just the display backlight not coming on.
The funny thing is that when am in a well lighted room or i shine a light on it, i can see that the phone is on an i can access my apps.
make sure that all 4 ribbons in the lg motherboard is properly connected, check if some pins are dent or bended. if all seems to be good, the problem is the backlight of your replaced screen
Make sure there is nothing covering the proximity sensor!

Hello, did you find a solution.
I have the same issue, it's not the screen because when I change the motherboard, the brightness work.
Thank you.

LG G4 proximity sensor always on when screen is turned off

Verizon LG g4 proximity sensor always on when screen is turned off.
If the screen is on, but before unlock, proximity sensor is on as well. It will turn off only after unlock the screen to home screen.
it cause battery drain and infrared light burned out/dead after being *"ON" all the time.
Any LG g4 user worry about it? I ca not imagine when my proximity sensor (infrared light) burned out, and no longer working
It is infrared, so you can only tell if you use another camera or phone look at it.
Just went to store and checked other LG G4
ALL LG G4s' proximity sensors are on WHEN screen is OFF.
So, LG G4 users, expecting infrared led light go out after reach its lifespan.
tnx
tnx
This is normal and good. It prevents unwanted taps or screen unlocking when you have your G4 in pocket/bag/purse and will shutdown any unwanted usage.
Especially since this phone has a double tap to wake feature, this can be easily manipulated accidently. So, look at it as a good things rather then bad and draining. I doubt it's really going to cause drastic battery issues.
