Regarding camera - Honor Magic Questions & Answers

Can anyone help with this question regarding the front and back camera, are the camera lens covered, or should I say embeded within the front glass and the back camera covered with the whole back cover, or is there a opening for the camera for the camera lens to stick out.

No separate camera hump. Flush with the glass front and back. If that is what you meant.

Does the whole front glass screen cover the camera, also for the back, or is there a cut out of the glass for the camera.

The front glass should look like this before they black it out to hide the camera/sensors

Thanks, if you run your fingers over the camera front/back, can you feel the lens, and also, your link is not the glass display, it's a glass protector. At least we know they have glass protector for this phone.

From the images, it looks totally flushed except for the led in the back which you can feel.

The laser autofocus is below the dual camera and not visible from outside because of the glass body.

The front facing camera is not behind the glass, the main glass has a cut out for the lens.

Those images are for the rear camera. The front camera is below:

any news regarding stabilization?? ois or eis?

Rear lens glass protector?

Since the camera lens has a large and protuding piece of glass over it, I'm a bit worried about getting it scratched up
Anyone seen a stick on protector (like a screen protector) that is cut exactly to fit this round glass?.

Putting a screen protector on the lens will distort the pictures. You might have to get a case.

Screen protectors won't distort too much as long as it's put on clean. I've done so with my n4.
dbrand will have their skins cover the lens area.
I've read that the XtremeGuard full screen protector comes with some sort of screen protection for the back. Just wondering whether it might be the solution for us with regard to protruding lens. I am not sure if anyone has actually received the product yet to verify.
That skin looks nice!

fyi I had a custom clear protector on the back of my nexus 4 that covered the whole thing including the camera, once in a while I'd have problems with the focusing.

Magnetic ring for add-on lenses

Apparently the large ring around the rear camera is magnetic and can fit mobile-camera lenses onto it. Pretty neat.

That's pretty cool. I'd love a slim cap for the lens, almost like a screen protector but just for the lens.
The magnet on mine appears to be fairly weak, not sure how well it would hold onto a lens. probably why the picture with the lens on the phone is sitting face down.

Check out the video linked below, the lens stays on just fine.

there are maybe also magnets in the lenses, set in so, that they attract to the N5 ? dont know just an idea
edit: after i have seen the video I am pretty sure that there are also magnets in the lenses. Very cool, now it makes sense that the lens is that big. The camera hardware in the case is small like in other phones

You would just have to buy the appropriate lens for what you want to do.
I had an Olloclip for my iPhone when I had it, I loved it. It had a wide angle, fisheye and macro lenses.
This is awesome! I will for sure be looking into this...
I have a magnetic macro lens that works beautifully with the N5. Got it from DealXtreme for under $10 way back when.

Right, but for far away shots is the wide-angle lens the only thing that is available? I'm just curious if there is anything out there that will maybe make the shot seem closer. Something similar to optical zoom.

i don't know how well it will perform combined with the ois. if the sensor and the internal lens moves because of the ois shouldn't also the external lens move? i'm not an expert in photography, but i think that if the sensor moves it probably will be out of the focal point of the external lens leading to crappy photos.

Difference in 13MP camera and "Selfie" Camera

I don't know if this issue has been brought up yet or not, but I have an odd bug. When using the 13MP shooter, the picture looks extremely grainy and the blacks are more like grays. The line of trees around our house don't look black, they look an ashy smoke grey. And the grainy-ness is so bad it almost looks distorted at certain points that my son was walking around.
And yet when taking "selfies" the front camera produces crystal clear, beautiful pictures. It seems like it should be the other way around.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if I need to return this to TMO and get a replacement?

When I broke the camera lens cover on my G2, I installed a replacement. After installing the replacement my pictures were like the one posted here.
Upon closer inspection I noticed a plastic removable film on the lens cover. When I took it off the pictures were great..
Check and make sure you don't have a protective plastic film left on your lens cover.

Good suggestion, but there is no plastic film covering the camera. I'm fairly certain if I take it into TMO they will just exchange it. Might just go for that and see if it helps.

It isn't the best tempered glass that i used but it's ok. It's a little fingerprint magnet in the black border at top and buttom. It really covers all the front(most important is protection) but it's all flat and if you look from the side you can see de curved edge of the phone. All this type of TG ar the same, maybe in the future there will be better

the screen looks really hazy .... is it the glass or is it just some smudge?
it isn't the best tempered glass to buy, it fits well in the phone but the quality off glass is bad in terms off dust and fingerprint magnet, almost equal to the original screen protector that came with the phone.

Don't buy these kind of screen protectors. I bought the Flosmall tgsp (same as mocolo) for my brother's oneplus x and it sucks.
I'm quite an adept at installing a tgsp but I noticed the first time there is something wrong with the adhesive. I used the hinge method and normally after the glass falls on the screen you have to press the middle of the glass so it sucks itself to the screen and it clears the air out.
I did this but nothing happened...it just sticks...
The screen had a large oily smudge in the middle, it clears for a little bit after a couple of days but doesn't go away completely.
The glass is NOT oleophobic, it collects fat and dust like crazy. It doesn't feel as smooth as my Nillkin tgsp (on my nexus 5), which is oleophobic, this one repells the oils from fingers and that's why you don't see any fingerprints.
Srry I don't have any pics but you have to believe me this (and the flosmall brand) are bad quality screenprotectors. They have a good idea: the black borders are great for the edged borders of the oneplus x but the quality is bad...
Someone has to make a 3d tgsp like the galaxy s6 edge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJVQFxBoBKI

I ordered the A51 glass protector as well. Fit is perfect for use with a cheap case I got from Amazon to hold me over until a real selection of cases becomes available. Front camera is not affected, fingerprint works, and the glass itself is decent about not being a grease slick. This was a great find by the OP.
I also vouch for th A51 screen protector. I went with WRJ brand on Amazon. It covers the whole screen with the bottom slightly extended to make gestures easier.
Do not buy the LK glass screen protectors for the S20 FE. I bought those first before finding it about the A51 ones. The glass is smaller than the screen. It'll result in an uneven install or crooked on the sides and selfie camera. I've had other LK products in the past and they were good in terms of support, but they haven't responded for this one yet...
