No OIS for sure. The Honor 8 has EIS, so most likely this has EIS as well.

Oh thank you!
Would love to see more if anyone got more videos to share!
It seems to me that the video is quit stable especially when the person that is holding the phone is walking over the street.
I find it quit odd that the Honor Magic has got a better video stabilization than for exanmple the mate 9.

Only few people bought it I guess. That's why there's not much activity.

LG G4 Camera and OIS performace

Hi,
I have read the reviews of LG G4 camera and particularly OIS videos comparison. I came across the jerky videos issue with LG G4 OIS. Also checked this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-bad-ois-t3103334)
I Want to know that does G4 really has some issue with OIS? How's the videos quality with OIS?
If you're walking it's very bad, if you stay steady it helps, so don't walk while recording...
No problems here, recordings seem pretty smooth on both 1080P and 4K while walking
Not sure what's up on his end.
Yup, no problem here too, everything is superb
If you walk like you don't care it will be bad as it tries to compensate too much movement. I walk while filming but try to dump the move with my feet a bit flexed and it works ok for me

OIS in video sucks anyway, it makes the pictures distorted
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acUEAUx4WJI
Edit : the G4's OIS instead of helping stabilize video it even adds some jerky, stoopid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7YomVQb4Vo
The best for pictures, but the worst for video.
Can confirm that the OIS is not good while walking, strange movement that does not look good.
OIS in such a small device is not a 3000$ shoulder mounted gimbal rig, so having jerky video while moving is normal. Plus it is a sign, that it is working.
If you want to disable OIS while shooting a video just get ProShot (you can also disable noise reduction).
Great app. You actually disable it even while shooting the video, really cool feature. Works only in the app.

Of course, but the 6s + OIS works way better while walking.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks a lot for your opinions.
Actually I was comparing the OIS quality of G4 with other phones and I was wandering that why this phone results in lots of jerks while other (like S6) don't. The reviews I have seen on youtube were uploaded back in 2015 and I was thinking that if this OIS issue is a software issue then it should have been fixed by now.
So that's why I just wanted to get the real opinion that is it really an issue (a hardware one) or has it been fixed now (if it was a software bug)? Or if its still the same then can we say that S6 OIS produces much better stable videos then G4?

They lied or they have new LG G4's special new brand..., or they don't know how to watch a video, I told the OIS helps a lot if you tried to stay steady like for taking a pictures, even if you shoot a video but keep steady, but once you make a little big movement faster it starts to be very bad, the OIS move so much that it adds some distortion which make the video so much more jerky than phone which does not have OIS, so the LG G4's OIS is very bad while walking...
I think sample videos would help more, both from those who are claiming that its good and from those who are saying that its not.

I agree, but the problem is that there's no samples with good, because the OIS is not good, simple as it... ^^, Nevertherless, I've never seen a good one.

Well I have seen some mix response on this. Some videos are good and some are not. So may be there is an issue with particular models or firmware version.
Which model are you using and what is the firmware/OS version?

Worth upgrade to oneplus 3?

Hi guys! I have a black lg v10 and I'm total satisfied but after I saw op 3 in reviews I liked it so much.
Does it worth to update it from v10? Please tell me your opinions.

Depends. V10 is an excellent phone but I guess the freedom that OP3 provides in terms of rooting and customization is better than V10. I upgraded from Note 4 for the same reason.
How is the camera m8?

its been just 20 days since the launch and we have over a couple hundred threads with close to a million views. i guess that qualifies the worth of it.
so if u want a phone with awesome development, this is it after nexus of course.
and yeah camera is good too. m not a photomaniac but the overall performance i've gotten up until now doesn't leave me wanting more.
Camera, screen & sound ... LG
Interface, processor & dev ... Op3
You takes your pick
Thx for the fast answers friends. Can the camera shoot in 16:9 format without dropping megapixel?
Also the no sd card support is a big minus for me but 64gb sounds good.

Yes it drops the resolution when shooting in 16:9. But that being said I think the still image quality is very good.

Really the still camera shots are better that v10? Video quality not good? Because of bad ois?

I wouldn't say better but they are very close and I can't pick a winner between them. I think the sub par video quality is due to software issues which can be fixed in future updates. But this is just speculation.
Not worth it. Wait until they fix all bugs (which are many).

Honor 8 pro Camera in low light

Hi, I've been using the H8pro for quite few days now. I bought the phone for its camera capability. Though it takes excellent photos in regular conditions, I'm depressed to see the results in low light which equals the quality of a 3mp Nokia's cameras of yesteryear's. Any advice on how to use camera in low light. My Nikon d300s is too heavy to carry around hence this was a easy substitute but leave aside the low light capability

That wouldn't help if the subject motion blur is present.
It is simply because the lack of OIS

More than the low light, I feel they should improve the daylight performance of the camera.
In daylight, the dynamic range and color balance is great but I feel the images aren't as sharpened as I would like them to be.

But there can never be a situation where one can't improve something and so I feel they can improve the camera through software a bit more.

No EIS

Hi,
I've bought the phone recently and I've been expriementing with the camera.
there is NO EIS at all to stablize the video on any res.
which is surprising, considering the Kirin 970 inside.
is it possible that it'd be implemented via a software update?
yeah EIS can be enabled by software
For all other Phones also Huawei recently enabled EIS Via Software update
any official news? they are definitely gonna added EIS? im looking to buy but without EIS this phone is worthless to me.

aside from the option not being in the settings, there's no kind of stabilization, what so ever, in the camera.

Google only do security updates... You need to buy a S23 ultra to solve your problem
Samsung must have manual camera controls in its camera app. You have to keep the camera iris open for hours to get star trails and Google doesn't have that capability to the best of my knowledge. However there are camera apps on the play store that do have manual controls.
That said, the best camera is the one you have on you. In this case however I do think a dedicated camera would be a better option. At least you wouldn't be draining the battery while focusing on the night sky.

1. It was a expose by a redditor about specifically a feature by samsung that has existed for at least 3 years so no lawsuits are imminent as samsung hasn't claimed that the phone can take a pure image
