Case from z5 - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Accessories

I have found out that z3+/z4 and z5 have almost similar dimensions. Can someone that has both phones to see if a case from z5 will fit to my z3+/z4? I am looking for a battery case but nowhere to be found. Thanks

Z5 case will fit since dimensions are same but you will find a big hole at power button and miss location of volume keys resulting in random pressing while holding the phone.

I broke the power button on/off

hello
I broke the power button off of my Desire Z.
When he opened the back cover. :crying:

Has a solution?
Not very well as the button is now smooth. There is a sort of metal armor leaving a small gap. For there I put a thin screwdriver, and I managed to turn the phone.
I think if I can put a small plastic piece with the button out of the housing pressure do to turn ...
It is a button like this but it seems to only 2 feet.

Major problem with Otterbox Commuter case

I've had a Commuter case before, on my Desire HD, so I was comfortable with buying one for the HOX.
I installed the phone into the case - both parts - but not the screen protector, I left that to one side for the moment. Imagine my surprise when the first incoming call shows a blank screen - I can't answer it. The phone is ringing but nothing shows up.
Removing the case and making a few incoming test calls and then and refitting the case confirms that something the case is doing is preventing the screen from lighting up when the phone rings. Yet pressing the power button works fine. The problem only happens when the silicone and hard shell are both fitted - the silicone case alone does not have this effect.
So what could be causing it?
1. Proximity sensor - it's not blocked, there's nothing in front of it
2. Power button - pretty stiff at first and hard to press but getting better, especially if I make sure to pull the rubber button surround fully out of the hard shell aperture
3. Volume buttons - see above
4. Stumped. What else could possibly be causing this?
good to know, I wanted to buy one
anyone has this problem?

Xperia Z's Power button thoughts (harsh?)

I thought Power button design was a clever design by Sony when I saw it in pictures. When I got ZL I thought it was very nice but over time I started to feel it is getting harsh on fingertips. Now I am using upper middle area of thumb to press it as it hurts finger because of sharp edges and the 'clicky' sound it only getting louder. I recently got Xperia Tablet Z and I am now of the opinion that Sony overdid the design of power button.
I think it would have been better if it had spherical design instead of cylindrical so it's not harsh on finger. Also, it would have been better if it didn't pop up so much out. Now, the power button even makes a more 'click' sound than it did in the beginning which makes me feel it will get worse over time. I find the design of the power button on HTC is very nice and smooth except it feels little too small and not comfortable to reach on top.
I hope to see a nice rounded design with all buttons blended into the surface of the phone.
I like it as it is. Personal preferences vary.
Sendt fra min XPERIA ZL 6506
I think it's a poor design. Mine has actually popped off a few times. I also wear a horizontal belt case when at work and can't guess how many times I've turned the screen on accidentally. The placement is ok but I feel it should be flush with the surface.

I find it to be perfect for me, to each their own. I hated the flush button design on the HTC 8X/One. Also this power button has the perfect amount of force and feedback. You know you pressed it, which is important.
I have a few days with mi Xperia ZL, but so far I find the power button quite comfortable, and unlike my Samsung Galaxy S3, the XZL don't turn on the screen by accident as much as the SGS3 ... maybe time will change my mind, but right now i'm quite happy with my Xperia ZL

Now have lost the power button. Need a pin to turn on screen. Going back to Sony under warranty. Be careful with this marketing gimmick.

Wierd, my power button does not do any sounds. Also I dont find it harsh on fingers. Try power button on, like, HTC One, now that harsh and difficult to press due to being flush (you have to squeeze it in with edge of your finger every time).
I got Xperia to very big extent exactly because of power button, and I think its very clever design, its very comfortable for me. Buttons located on top or closer to top are very difficult to press with one hand, making you prone to drop the phone. Buttons located on very bottom edge of big screen phones (like S4) are no better.
Granted, I see how it will require special case/bumper design because of this, but I just carry it in my pocket so don't care about it really.
Edit: sorry, just found that power button does inteed make "click" sound, but its extremely quiet. Not sure if it was better or worse before, as I never noticed it.
It's completely normal that power buttons makes a quiet "click" sound ! We are talking about physical button I would really like to meet the person "who has pain" (harsh on fingertips) because of power button on ZL Unbelievable No offence!
I love the power button on the Z and the one on the SP is even better as it protrudes a bit more. I think it adds a touch of uniqueness to the range.
I like it, nice contrast to the body and other buttons. Yes, it sticks out, which will be an issue for anyone not using a case. It's very unobtrusive with a case .. at least with my Incipio Feather. Also, it's fun to watch people try and find the button the first time or ten
had to exchange mine for a new one because the power button was loose and did not register half of the clicks. the new one has worked fine so far (a month and a half)
I like the power button. It could sit a touch higher, but other than that it's great.

Sony responded by telling me the device has "physical damage". No warranty replacement. $600 for a phone I used three months. Miss my ZL but I have no choice but to defect. In my opinion, a totally unacceptable response from Sony. The phone is like new with no power button. Needless to say, I'm disappointed and surprised.

Personally I like the power button,it's easy to find without looking at the phone and the tactile feedback is great. It also looks quite nice. I'd rate this the same or slightly below the Nexus 4's power button.

Power Button Recessed

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the power button on their 2XL?
I have the Black & White version and the orange power button seems to be protruding less and less from the main frame, making it difficult to press.
It's still quite "clicky" but in comparison to the volume rocker it's much more be recessed.

I've noticed that. It seems to fit a little more flush with the frame. not a deal breaker for me. I've got a decent screen... Can't risk a replacement lol
Mine still seems fine, been kept in a Ringke case since new so possibly doesn't get pushed in as far as a naked button.
I've had it in the Google fabric case since I got it which also covers the buttons. I think it also may have something to do with that...the fabric case button is much bigger and pops out more...and now that I've taken the case off, the actual power button feels less prominent.
I rarely use the button.
So, I activate the phone using finger print and turn the screen off using "screen off" app

Ah good shout. I've just activated a similar feature in Nova Launcher. Thanks for the tip.
Yes, same here. Orange button seems slightly recessed.
My dad just got his Pixel, and I have had mine for over 2 months. Both power buttons are identical. Protruding slightly less than the volume rocker. It's definitely not getting worse over time.
I've thought the same thing on the ones i've had but this was the 3rd one i've had and all have been the same spot. Has never failed me yet though had it since launch

Wiggle on side buttons

Its been 1 week since i bought my s9, and it's buttons started to wiggle a bit. Is it normal?
I used the case that comes with in the box.
You must have gotten a special package or deal from Samsung, because most people around the world do not get cases included with the phone. I mean, look at the S9 box and how it is packed; everything is very densely fit in the packaging. There's no room to add a case.
On my S9+ the buttons do also wiggle a tiny bit. Not so much that you'd ever be able to actually see them wiggling, but just when I slide a finger over the volume button or power button, I can feel them shift a tiny amount under my finger. It doesn't worry me though; there's another button underneath the button we see in the casing that actually activates the function; what you're feeling (probably) is just the tiny gap between the case button, and the functional button under it.
I mean, is this your first smartphone? This wiggle I'm feeling on the S9 is the same as what I felt on my S8 and S7. But perhaps you're coming from another phone creator that has slightly different feeling buttons.
