Holster/Case That Doesn't Suck - Seidio Surface/Holster Alternative - Google Pixel 2 Accessories

IMO, Seidio makes the best holster/cases for any phone. They come with a lifetime warranty, but are a little pricey. They also come with an intergrated kickstand.
The bad news is they have NO intention of making a Pixel 2 mini case/holster Surface combo. This was confirmed when I contacted support.
The good news is that the Surface holster for the Pixel 1 mini does work pretty good with the Spigen Rugged Armor Case for Pixel 2. The fit is real close and the phone is secure and can be removed with just one hand. This is much better than the universal holsters that are more like wallets/closed-faced and are really hard to get the phone out with one hand. I tried one of these for a week (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ3ASSO/ to be extact, YES it says Pixel 1, but it works Pixel 2/Spigen RugArmCase) and wanted to kill myself on how it functioned. Since the surface holster is open faced you can attach the universal kickstand from Spigen, linked below.
My only reservation is that the volume down button is really close to the case, pictured. It doesn't seem to apply pressure, which is good for the long run. I could carve out a notch, but I feel good about the current fit.

Old thread but would you mind testing the fit of the Pixel 2 naked in that Pixel 1 Surface holster? I am trying to find a holster that will work for the Pixel 2 naked.

I tried this and it's not a good fit at all... Not even close.

Thanks for checking.. I was curious because Seidio says the Surface case adds 2mm and the Pixel 2 is about 2mm taller than the Pixel 1. I was hoping the Surface holster for the Pixel 1 would be a good fit for a naked Pixel 2.
The search continues...

I switched from Moto Z, a much larger device, to the Pixel 2, and the new Pixel 2 with a bumper case works out just fine for me using the same Bomea holster: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P80V0GU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Rugged case to last longer than moto g

Been reading around here and reviews everywhere but cant really trust most of them so I created this thread
I'm basically looking for tough/rugged case and at the moment I can only find 2 contenders
Ballistic https://www.goballisticcase.com/shop/motorola/moto-g/tough-jacket-maxx/
or
Otterbox http://www.otterbox.com/Defender-Se...g_color=Y7&start=1&cgid=motorola-moto-g-cases
looking for feedback from current owners, suggestion/feedback are welcome
thanks,
aben
I got the trident case, perfect fit, buttons work as good as without case, rock solid case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trident-Ser...401050103&sr=8-2&keywords=moto+g+trident+case
I did add tempered glass to the mix though, but hey £30 on protection is cheaper than paying £100 for a new 8Gb Moto G right.
Edit: Out of the two you have listed I would say protection wise, the ballistic is a better choice.
I also have a trident aegis case installed in my mega 5.8 and im happy with it.
Looking at this 2 cos this came with holster which I need moto g can hung on my waist which I cant do with my mega due to its size but I will still keep it as secondary phone
Anyone can give feedback with how tough the holster of these?
Neither of those two.
I doubted if I would take the Trident, but eventually took the black and white Dual Pro Hybrid Case from Incipio............saved the phone a few times now......................:good:
I've got the Otterbox Commuter for mine, it's pretty solid and fits the phone almost perfect the only nag is the little flap for the micro USB port doesnt quite close entirely.

Ringke Cases [REVIEW]

So, I regularly review for Ringke and got the V20 on launch day. I will be adding reviews to this post as I get more of the products. Please leave any feedback or questions you may have.
Ringke [Fusion] Clear.
I got this case as soon as I could, as I got the phone on launch day. I do get products to review from Ringke, but I went out on a limb and purchased this one on the strength of their Note 7 line up, which I really enjoyed.
Pros:
1. Sturdy TPU/PU construction is made to last.
2. Cut outs are accurate and functional. I haven't had to remove the case to access any features.
3. Clear TPU/PU is holding it's color exceptionally well. (Others tend to yellow quickly)
4. Raised camera lip.
4. Screen protector friendly (anyone coming from an edge device knows the struggle lol)
5. Price. (cases at tmo were $39.99)
6. Availability
7. Comes with pattern to print your own insert for the transparent back.
8. Raised frame on back for additional clearance.
Cons:
1. My only wish is to see easier pull tabs on the protective plastic that covers the clear back (inside & out).
All in all, Ringke has not disappointed with their latest offerings, and I will continue to bring you the details !

you should try the onyx in midnight navy. looks really good and feels good.

I am waiting for my ringke fusion smoke black currently using vrs carbon fit pretty good protection little bit on the thick side though but with a handy kickstand
Have the Fusion and I really like how minimal it is. The phone still feels thin-ish. Not 100% convinced in the camera protection now that we've seen what can happen and how easily but it is far better than nothing.
I had the clear Ringke Fusion. I loved the look of the case, but it offered no protection for the camera, so i decided to go a different route.
I'm really bummed to see there's no Ringke Slim case. My only go to case. I've emailed them about it but they've ignored me.

That's funny! I love the Ringke Slim cases so much that I also emailed them and I received no response too! I emailed them about a month ago and nothing, no reply back. I really like the Slim grip feel and the lanyard attachment.

I ended up going with this case:
LG V20 case, suensan Premium Pc Lightweight Slim Ultra Thin Hard Case for LG V20 (Black)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L0FIH4E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RZpmybBV3K25V
It's, without a doubt, the closest V20 case you'll find to Ringke's Slim line. It's almost the same exact material, weight and size found in the Slim line.
Like many of our options, the downside is that it offers virtually no protection for the camera glass. I attached a Spigen kickstand between the camera and fingerprint sensor in an attempt to mitigate any possible damage. I'm hopeful that Ringke will release a Slim case, but not keeping my fingers crossed.
Some quick shots.
Unfortunately, it's probably worth noting that it appears that Ringke did not release a Slim case for the LG V10.
Anyone got a pic of the smoke black/clear case for the v20? Wpould like to see if along with the choice of a quality tempered screen protector.. Slim or fat cases don't mean much, as long as the rear cameras is protected and there's a flush (flat) surface when phone is sitting on the table and you tap it...?
I got the Ringke ONYX Extreme Protection Case, that was the only 1 they had at the time, before the official release. I did like the Fusion that I had on my Note 7, so I'll probably end up getting 1 for the V20 as well. I just wish they offered more color options, blues and greens.
LG V20 case, suensan Premium Pc Lightweight Slim Ultra Thin Hard Case for LG V20 (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L0FIH4E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_sdooyb99SM358
Less than $5 on Amazon Prime right now. Definitely worth it!
Just got my Slate Grey Ringke Onyx case and I really like it. Nice no frills case with camera protection. Just got back from Thanksgiving travel but I will post pictures when I get a chance. Good case for a great price.
I've bought Ringke clear case before. Thing yellowed and oranged so bad in 3 months, I'd never waste my money on their clear cases again.
one guy says camera protection and then another says it doesn't ?!?!

Leather folio case with flip cover, like on Nexus 6P

I've been very happy with the case on my Nexus 6P (this looks like the one: https://www.ebay.com/i/131886281154?rt=nc&var=431231132500). Now having preordered XL2, I've been searching for similar case, but so far haven't found anything that would be close enough match. I went through the Cover thread, and closest ones were cases like this and this but there appears to be few essential differences:
The plastic bumper around looks a lot thinner on these XL2 cases
XL2 cases all have kickstand, which basically means the backside is not as thick/protective against drops
I don't need any CC slots (although having one isn't a show stopper)
Most of these XL2 cases look cheap at least in pictures
Even tried asking @madebygoogle on Twitter, but they didn't have any info on such cases. I'd happily pay that same (absurd) $50 or so for the case that I paid for this 6P case as it really is a premium case I've enjoyed using. Any tips are highly appreciated!

Ditto. Does anyone know who manufactured the Nexus 6P folio?
From what I've found they were produced by adoptednyc.
They show no new items since iPhone 7.
Facebook is quiet too for them.
SOGA makes a really good flip case out of leather that works great.

I ordered 2 of these(2XL & 2).
Will report my assessment of them when they arrive.
Will likely take weeks, coming from China.
I prefer a flip case because of the added protection for the screen.
Also when I hold the phone in portrait mode I tend to use the flipped cover a secure holding grip.
The main downside is when taking a picture the cover gets in the way if I'm too hurried to get a picture.
I ordered the natural leather finished flip case without the strap or clasps from Tedded.
Looks to be of nice quality whereas it's real leather and not the plastic leather most cases use.
Where do the plastics cows come from? Do you feed them plastic packing peanuts?

So I received the cases today.
If the Nexus 6p official case was a 10, I'd give these Tetded cases an 8 or 8.5.
The hinge part of the flip cover seems a little flimsy, not in quality but in strength.
This causes the cover to wiggle or sit a little crooked at times. It isn't bad but not perfect.
The only other thing I'd change, if I could, would be to add a bevel to the area around the fingerprint sensor. Having a beveled surface makes it seem less deep when it guides your finger to the sensor. The hole on this case is is good, but again, not perfect.
All cutouts are properly placed, so no issues there.
All in all, I'd recommend this case to anyone who liked the official Nexus 6p case.

TETDED
Just received my flip case from Tetded.
If you desire a case that wasn't made from last months recycled Coke or Pepsi bottle this is the one to purchase.
I bought the flip case without the latch, the classic vintage brown version. It has the feel of fine leather, not something made from camel scrotum. The cover does interact with the screen as it should.
Access to the side buttons is good the fingerprint sensor is recessed a bit but access is also good.
The only downside at the moment is I use a magnetic phone holder in my vehicle that requires a very thin steel plate be applied to the inside of the front cover I usually use a credit card slot of which there are none. Tomorrows project.
the case is pricey but so wasn't the phone now to find a glass screen protector that doesn't have issues.
Don't ask for "pics" friggen Google Tetded.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in the same boat. One question for anyone that has the TetDed folio case. 1) How's it holding up a few months down the road? and 2) does the cover hold shut via magnet? Or is it just floppy? Thanks in advance to anyone still monitoring this.

Mine is holding up great, but I'm the type that doesn't have the cover open a lot.
My wife's is not holding up as well cause she is constantly on the phone.
The wear & tear that bothers me about hers is that the cover doesn't rest properly when closed now. it wants to sit crooked by default, resulting in me having to adjust it whenever I see it.
Overall, I think they are still a good option for folio covers, just not nearly as perfect as the Nexus 6p cover.
thanks for taking a chance and for reviewing the leather case.

Thin fit, minimalist case

Anyone using this kind of thin fit, minimalist case? Any recommendation? Thanks.
I'm holding out for the likes of Peel, MNML, Totalle.
Well, those types of cases, not paying the £20/30 they're asking when they'll pop up at some point for £4
Here what I found:

I am leaning to this:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B08G8...cer+Google+Pixel+5&qid=1602940526&sr=8-9&th=1
I don't really like Peel or MNML. I have MNML for Pixel 2/2XL and it is very slippery. And after few months, it's loosen and stretched.
Totallee has it already, but quite expensive and I have no idea if it is good.

I was debating the totallee, had it in my cart for so long...but too expensive for what it is. Plus they advertise 0.02" (which is about 0.5mm). MNML is 0.35mm advertised. So should be thinner.
I have the MNML for my Pixel 3 XL and love it, but it also stretched around the fingerprint (I think maybe due to device heat).
Anyways MNML has a 2 year warranty which covers this, but you have to buy from them. I just bought it for the Pixel 5, use code THEO30 Still expensive, but cheaper than Totallee, and probably slightly better quality control than the super thin ones on Amazon.
I have ordered a Totallee one, it's on pre-order, ships on 30th October (finger's crossed), I'll put up some pictures after it arrived!

Is the (clear) totallee more of a super thin flexible TPU?

Yep, MNML is super thin but hard plastic. Never used Totallee...the clear looks flexible, and the rest look like MNML (rigid plastic).

This Spigen has better grip than MNML.
I was fan of
- Ringke Slim
- Spigen Thin Fit
Which I used in my Pixel 2 and 4 respectively.
However the Ringke one is not available for Pixel 5.
The Spigen one is different, now it has the buttons covered with fake ones.
So I ended up going with:
"anccer Compatible for Google Pixel 5 Case, [Anti-Drop] Slim Thin Matte Hard Case, Full Protective Cover For Google Pixel 5"
Which seems to be similar case. If it has a similar mate soft grip I'll keep it.
A green version will arrive today. However I want black. Not in stock. I'll get black later if I like the green version.
I'm not sure if black and green have the same soft finish which I like because of the grip

Maybe the black version is more grippy? Or maybe the finish needs to get wasted a bit

Is smooth as if it had some talcum powder around but maybe because is new.

will get DBRAND Grip but will be a long wait
Ringke Fusion Clear. I love seeing the actual phone.
Commando, kept in a leather pouch.
Not sure yet, maybe Ringke Fusion Clear to see this badboy device!
I will go with latercase. Not loving the "cyber" style for the camera, but the feel of these cases are simply unmatched. Rocking one on my OP 8 PRO and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
For me i got GhosTek
High recommended this case super high quality

And i order Caseology Vault Sage Green
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B096T8JPP9?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1&psc=1
I ordered both the Spigen Rugged Armor (as usual, love these!) and the Ultra Hybrid because it has a transparent lower back. Might keep both, might send one back.
I ordered the stormy 6 pro case from google.
Spigen thin-fit for now already have it just waiting on phone. I like the look of the black/gold caseology parallex but it isn't in stock anywhere right now. I might get a clear case eventually just hate how they get smudged up so easily.
I ordered the Caseology Vault case in black
might get this one for now, its cheap enough until more cases start to appear

Never had a case. Don´t think I will get one this time.
I went with the Caseology Vault in Sage Green. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B096T8JPP9
I'm debating what I should use my Google Store credit for purchasing the Pixel 6 Pro and Buds A on. Either one of the "official" cases, or the Pixel Stand 2 when it's available. Or both.

Google One customers who have the 2TB plan receive 10% back in store credit on Google Store purchases.
I ordered a red/black caseology parallax and a spigen tough armour to try them out. Combined they're still cheaper than an otterbox.

I dont like that they expose so much of the phone though. plus its very little of actual kevlar in it.
